Karl Raacke: Hey campers, Karl from Pete's RV Center here.
Today we are looking at the 2018 Airstream Classic 33FB.
It is a front bed floor plan.
It is the largest travel trailer that Airstream manufacturers, and it's also the most luxurious.
So let's take a look around and see what it has to offer.
Of course, right up front you do have your power tongue jack.
You've got a little LED light [00:00:30] on there.
You've got protective coverings for both your LP tanks, and your batteries right below.
They're very easy to access as well.
Of course you want to protect your investment and Airstream knows that, so they've put shatter-resistant
UV protectant lenses up over the glass up front here, and they've put some stainless
steel rock covers here.
You don't want to be getting any rock chips in the aluminum, or up on the glass either.
It's not inexpensive to fix and replace, [00:01:00] so you want to have it nice and protected.
Looking down the side you notice you get that classic silver bullet look, been around since
the 1930s.
It's timeless.
It's never going to go out of style.
You get a very nice, full length Zip Dee awning on this as well.
It's going to help provide you with plenty of shade at your campsite when you're there
on these really sunny days, just like today.
Being that this is a Classic Airstream, you're going to get a few more amenities and features
[00:01:30] on it than you would on some of the lower trim levels.
So case in point, you do get this light-up grab bar.
You get the LED porch light, and you also get a little doorbell here.
Airstream's signature little thing.
It's nice so that instead of somebody knocking on your door they can push that button.
A little bit more residential feel, make you feel like you're at home.
Making your way down the side, of course I already mentioned the LED porch lamp.
You've got aluminum rims down here, wrapped in Michelin [00:02:00] rubber.
And you've got a small storage bin right here as well.
So now what we're going to do, you've kind of seen the outside.
We're going to take a look on the inside and see how nice it is.
So come on in folks.
Now that we are in the 33FB Classic, let's take a look around.
First off you'll notice it is extremely open and extremely airy.
You get tons of natural light in through all of the windows, both the main ones here as
well as the higher up ones.
So you can, you know still have some [00:02:30] sunlight in here if you want to have your
privacy and have the shades shut.
You'll notice Airstream's done an amazing job.
They have paired the Macadamia colored interior with this dark hardwood cabinetry.
I think it looks really good, really classy, extremely high-end.
So one thing I will point out is that everything in here is power.
Everything from the fan, the TV, the table.
You'll even notice that here, you'll push this little button [00:03:00] and Danielle
you can probably notice there that the table is starting to go down.
Push the button the other way, it goes up.
So they make it extremely easy on you as a user.
So booth style dinette.
You've got the darker color tabletop and countertop as well.
It does accent that macadamia colored interior very well.
Moving into the kitchen you'll notice you do have a full size residential style fridge.
This thing is, [00:03:30] you know, exactly what you would find in any high end home.
I mean the stainless steel color goes along really well with the exposed aluminum in here
as well.
You've got plenty of storage, very convenient hidden storage.
Some spice racks there.
All the cabinetry up top as well.
They've even put non-slamming hinges on here, so you don't need to worry.
When you shut that down you're not going to be able to smack it and feel like you're jarring
your teeth out or nothing.
You do get [00:04:00] a three burner cooktop here.
This nice backsplash here folds up and down, can extend that countertop.
As well as your oven down below.
Stainless steel look all throughout really does pull it together.
You have name-brand Cuisinart microwave down below here.
And I know I have already said it, but the stainless steel just follows throughout.
You'll notice you take your sink covers out of here.
Nice, deep, open Kohler sink as well, with a retractable [00:04:30] faucet makes it that
much easier to be able to do dishes and just keep things clean in general.
Making our way back, we've got some theater seating here.
You do have that countertop kind of follows right through, folds up and down.
You have a couple of USB chargers there.
You have these buttons here, they do your power legs that way you can really kick back
and enjoy.
Right across from this seating here, you do have a 65 inch [00:05:00] projection screen
TV.
It's really cool to have.
It's going to be the biggest screen you can get in a travel trailer.
You've got Bose sound system down below here.
You've got the not only the bar, but you have a subwoofer kicker down underneath the desk
area.
They give you a little chair here too.
So you know, when you are at the campsite or you're just getting away from the real
world you still are able to do some of your office work, desk work, anything like that.
So [00:05:30] I do want to point this out, like I said, everything is power.
There is a Cinema Mode button that you can hit.
All you have to do is push that button and what it'll do is that it'll dim and shut all
the lights, and it'll start bringing all of your power shades down.
It's a really great feature to have so when you are all nice and relaxed, set up to watch
that movie at night, all you have to do is hit that button, everything's going to take
care of itself, so you have nothing to worry about.
You do have … Danielle, [00:06:00] we'll have you swing around here.
You've got a touch control panel here as well, and it gives you any and all information that
you're going to need to control your unit from lights, fans, temperatures, you name
it.
So what we can do, turn the lights on here, and we'll just turn them all back and boom,
there we go.
So we'll get the lights back on so you can see.
So now what we're going to do, we're going to back up into the bathroom [00:06:30] a
little bit.
You will notice, again, plenty of storage in here.
Really great to have.
All these mirrors you can see yourself from any and every angle.
You've got a nice, big wardrobe closet in here.
You're going to be able to hang all of those longer you know, dresses, shirts, pants, anything
like that.
Swinging around, you do have the curved angle shower base.
You know, this is roomier than what you find in a lot of homes.
You I doubt, [00:07:00] you know, anybody who's 6 foot 4, 6 foot 5, those taller people,
you're going to fit in here really well.
You do have, of course the sliding doors as well.
Airstream has even put their retractable clothesline in there.
Making our way down, you do notice you have an actual porcelain toilet as well as a heated
towel bar here, so this is heated, that way when you toss your towel on there, you jump
in the shower, at the end of that you don't [00:07:30] have to get into a cold towel.
It's all warmed up for you.
More cabinetry up above as well.
I mean, there is tons of storage throughout this entire Airstream.
You'll notice you then have your vanity in here as well.
Go down to that bathroom sink, and I mean this is just so ornate.
You get that little pleating look in it.
You know, it just, it really shows you how high class these Airstreams can be, and the
extent that Airstream has gone to to really [00:08:00] think the small details through.
So now that we've kind of taken a look at the restroom here in the back, we're going
to make our way all the way up to the front where the front bedroom is of course.
So this is a full size bed.
It is power up and down as well to reach your storage there.
It's full walk around on both sides as well.
Of course tons of pillows.
You can never have enough pillows.
They're extremely ornate.
They make the bed really [00:08:30] just come together with the bedspread and all.
You've got the black countertops that run through here as well.
You've got all your power shades, you've even got some nice reading lights in here as well.
You've got your own TV, plenty of storage up above and down below like I've already
said.
You know, I keep saying it.
Airstream has done anything and everything they can to make your next camping experience
that much easier and that much more enjoyable with all of [00:09:00] the thought and effort
that they've put into these high end coaches.
