you just always think: Oh I got a couple of pigmentation's and they're not
fading even after acne you get some dark spots maybe also redresses and
they're not fading. You are even looking for any kind of bleaching creams and
how to get rid of them very quickly. If this is a point it's interesting you
you might stay with me because I want to give you a couple of tips how to avoid
them and also what you can do against them! So hello my name is Dr.Liv Kraemer
I am a board-certified dermatologist and now sitting here in Zurich in my little
boutique Clinic in the middle of the city center and I just put my white coat
on because - ok I never wear it- but obviously everyone is saying: oh
you have to wear this on your YouTube videos! honestly I can talk even without showing
oh I'm a physician! I can do this without a white coat but ok let's keep
it on ,so let's talk now about this dark spots -a lot of people are actually
commended on my other "how to wash my face" video and I thought okay let's
talk about maybe why dark spots are happening particular after you
have a breakout. Please think a little bit differently: think about: UVA and UVB
it's a high energetic wave from the Sun so it's like physics. So just imagine
normally your cells are very stable but if there is a high energy coming and the
cells getting instable over time so after the age of 15, 16, 17 these cells
become unstable and the heavy UVA light is hitting the cells and boom destroys
the cells and what cells are doing: They are spilling out the garbage... and what is this
garbage? These are the dark spots, the redness, inflammation and also after
pimple we call it: post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation! What does it mean?
Ok let me translate it: post= after, inflammatory=a kind of chaos, hyper=more
pigments. So what does it mean: after a huge pimple you have a lot of garbage
If there's a high energy coming, it's like activating them and they're
getting a more darker so what does it mean? if you have a pimple and you have a
huge inflammation and you're going outside and your skin got hit by UVA
not by UVB necessary, as UVB gives you the tan but UVA is the whole day
there, from the morning when the Sun rises till the evening till sun
comes down and therefore the pigments get darker! Why? You have to imagine you have
a kind of let's say: garbageman and as you were younger: you remember you
squeezed out a pimple and everything was gone
now you're squeezing a pimple -as older you get- as more red and dark it becomes that
it almost never fade, it's staying dark because your garbageman, your DNA repair
mechanism, is not coming every couple of seconds and removing all the garbage you
produced by the Sun or actually by a heavy kind of war -your pimple- so the
garbageman -the DNA repair mechanism- is slowering down so the garbage is staying and you
are producing new garbage because more Sun is hitting the pigment and they
getting darker. It's like the chemistry lesson back then: we're waiting for
the reaction but nothing happens and then suddenly the Bunsen Brenner made the
whole reaction happening- same as the Sun! So in order to actually keep your
garbage getting removed by your own repair mechanism you need to
protect your skin for further damage and therefore for the UV ray. So what does it
mean? Clear text: so if you have a pimple and you want to
avoid further darkening of the pigment and you want to get them fading away
just by using a stupid Sun cream with an SPF at least 30- it's not that a
SPF of 50 is so much
better than a thirty because it's not like a linear line
it's like an exponential curve so between 30 and 50 it's less than 1% so
spf30 is totally fine but use it every day. There are some research showing that
just by using SPF on a regular basis your pigmentation will fade
automatically because your garbage man -your DNA repair mechanism- will be able to
remove the garbage you produced! So watch my video "how to wash your face" which was
very important then apply a light cream if you are
suffering from acne, so watch the video about "what kind of basis cream you have
to choose and then if you want to protect yourself also again the free
radicals using antioxidants, if you're suffering from acne, red spots try to
really just don't use oils, more watery base antioxidants like vitamin C,
greentea, reservatrol! l I will make also another video video about it and then
the Sun cream. It doesn't have to be a cream, it has to be a gel
a light gel with sun protection factor but just remember it has to stand SPF at least 30
it's not enough to keep using an SPF which is- for example- in your makeup and
it's important that a UVA sign is on this label so uses hand cream
really every day. It's physics guys it's really physics because day: is sun
night is: no sun: So every day! i always tell my patients: ot the 60 days of
holidays which are important, it is the 305 days grey in grey wherever you
are even inside because UVA comes through the window and it is
hitting your skin. So if pigment is an issue doesn't matter after the acne or
after an injury because acne is an injury or just because are
you having hormonal levels like this up and down... A Sun cream is a number one
thing to prevent further darkening and also let dark spots fade. They are
much more options of course to help the garbageman but
this will be another video. Please give me a thumb up if you liked it ,if you didn't
like it switch me off! subscribe to my
youtube channel because then you will get informed bout more videos I will
make, give me a comment and see you then next time! I wish you all a wonderful
day with UVA factor with at least an SPF 30. Bye-bye
