Trump newly undercuts top U.S. intelligence chief on Russia  President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the Russian government is no longer trying to meddle in U

S. elections, contradicting his director of national intelligence, who has said that Kremlin-ordered attacks are ongoing

In response to a shouted question from a reporter as to whether Russia was still targeting the U

S., Trump shook his head and said "no." He quickly followed with a brief monologue arguing that his administration has been tougher on Russia than any of its predecessors and that "President Putin knows that better than anybody, certainly better than the media

"  At her Wednesday press briefing, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied that the president had said Russia is no longer attacking the U

S. but that he instead had been saying "no" to taking additional questions from reporters

She said the White House believes the threat of Russian election interference remains

"The president said thank you very much and was saying 'no' to answering questions," Sanders said, despite the fact that Trump kept on talking to reporters after the exchange

"The president and his administration are working very hard to make sure that Russia is unable to meddle in our elections as they have done in the past and as we have stated

"  Pressed by MSNBC reporter Hallie Jackson on the president's earlier exchange with reporters, Sanders said that she had spoken to the president about his remark and that he was not answering a reporter's question when he said "no

" The press secretary insisted that she was not walking back the president's comments, telling reporters, "I'm interpreting what the president said

I'm not reversing it." Morning Cybersecurity A daily briefing on politics and cybersecurity — weekday mornings, in your inbox

The president's assertion that Russia's is no longer launching attacks against the U

S. contradicts remarks from Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, who said last month that "it is 2018, and we continue to see Russian targeting of American society in ways that could affect our midterm elections

"  The Office of the Director of National Intelligence did not immediately respond to a request for comment

It was the second time in as many days that the White House has sought to argue that the president either did not say or did not mean something that he was clearly captured on video saying

Trump has come under withering criticism over the last 48 hours over his remarks at a bilateral press conference on Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, where the U

S. president said "I don't see any reason" why Russia "would" be behind 2016 cyberattacks intended to impact that year's U

S. presidential election.  Trump's willingness to accept Putin's denial that the Kremlin had been involved over the assessment of his own intelligence agencies prompted a tidal wave of rebukes, which in turn pushed Trump to take a rare step — admitting a mistake — on Tuesday when he told reporters that he had meant to say that he saw no reason why Russia "wouldn't" have been behind the 2016 attacks

It's also not the first time that Trump has directly undercut Coats in recent days

In an interview with CBS News on Saturday, Trump said he doesn't know if he agrees with a warning from Coats that the U

S. digital infrastructure is vulnerable to a large-scale attack.  "Well, I — I don't know if I agree with that

I'd have to look. But I have a lot of respect for Dan," Trump said. "And that's where he is, and that's what he does

Again, we're working on it very hard. We're upgrading things at a very rapid pace

" Trump-Putin meeting Trump plays semantics on Russian meddling  Coats has not been silent as Trump has undermined his statements

On Monday, after Trump publicly sided with Putin over U.S. intelligence agencies on Russia's election meddling, Coats issued a blunt statement backing the intelligence community

"The role of the Intelligence Community is to provide the best information and fact-based assessments possible for the president and policymakers," said Coats, who took over as U

S. director of national intelligence in March 2017. "We have been clear in our assessments of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and their ongoing, pervasive efforts to undermine our democracy, and we will continue to provide unvarnished and objective intelligence in support of our national security

"  Coats also has had a rocky history with Trump. It was reported in June 2017 that Coats had told associates that Trump asked him if he could help get then-FBI Director James Comey to back off the agency's investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn

Coats reportedly decided that such an action would be inappropriate.

More US Tax Dollars WASTED On National Defense, Fighting Non-Existent Enemies - Duration: 7:25.

Our next question is from @HospicePlanet, who asks, "If climate change is (probably)

the greatest enemy of America, then what is the point of spending 60% of tax dollars on

national defense against non-existent enemies?

Is the military-industrial complex a behemoth out of control?"

Yes.

I mean, the short answer to that is yes.

The military industrial complex unfortunately is something that has been around longer than

most of us in this country have been around and I don't think there is a way to actually

stop it at this point.

I mean, we're seeing military budgets increase every year regardless if there's a democrat

or a republican in the White House.

That's scary.

This is a bipartisan thing.

Both parties are bought and paid for at this point, with the exception of very few outliers.

One, of the outliers being obviously Bernie Sanders.

Now if he were president, he could probably veto any budget increase for the military,

which would then immediately be overridden by the members of Congress because you can't

just have one good person surrounded by 535 pieces of crap, which is what would happen

in that instance.

You have to remake Congress.

It's not just about the person in the White House, whoever he or she may be.

You have to get the people out of Congress and to be honest, that's one of the reasons

I support term limits for elected members of Congress.

I do.

I know a lot of people on the progressive side disagree with me on that and to that,

I say, why?

You know, the founders of the United States were terrified of having a king, somebody

or even a small group with absolute power and that's why they made the term of a president

four years.

They wanted to make George Washington president for life at first until they realized how

dangerous that was and it would be no different than the monarchy they were trying to get

away from.

But when we have these members of Congress that can serve for 30 or 40 years, you tell

me how that's not a king or queen.

You tell me how that person who has absolute power in the House or Senate is not the one

calling all the shots and making all the rules.

We have seen it too much in the last two years alone, what one person who's been there for

a couple decades can do.

They can stall an entire legislative agenda.

They can remake the Supreme Court without ever holding a hearing.

We need term limits and there is nothing that anybody can say or do to convince me I am

wrong because I've never heard a good argument against term limits.

We need those.

It's time.

We need fresh faces in Congress and that's the only way to tackle the military industrial

complex, people who pledge to not take corporate money, like Ocasio-Cortez.

That is phenomenal what she has done.

She could be one of the greatest law makers ever if she gets elected and then if she starts

this fire throughout this country, if people like her, that could really change things.

Now, the other half of the question you asked was actually about climate change.

Yes, intelligence agencies say climate change is the greatest threat to US national security,

100% greatest threat.

We're literally doing nothing about it.

We did a little bit about it during the Obama year, but not enough to make any kind of difference

at all because even with his clean power rule, he was still ramping up off shore oil drilling,

pipelines throughout the United States and other environmental atrocities.

We didn't actually do anything during those years because every step forward was met with

two steps backwards.

But now the façade of even caring about the environment or global warming is out the window

and the Trump administration is actively trying to make things worse.

That is what their policies will do be that is what their donors want them to do.

So again, if we don't remake Congress, if we don't get these old fogies out of there,

who lived during a time before climate change was even a threat, then we will never see

real change in this country.

They have to go if we want things to get better.

Next question we have from Steve Levine, who asks, "Under single payer, wouldn't insurance

burdens be removed from employers?

That alone should be impetuous to make it so."

You see, Steve, and I love your questions.

Thank you for always sending us stuff.

The problem is that makes sense and if something makes sense to you and me and to everybody

else, we can bet that it's not going to make any sense at all to Congress and I hate to

sound so naïve about this or cynical, I guess would be the right word.

But it's just every time somebody comes up with a really good idea that's really easy

to implement, Congress just kind of drags their feet and like, "Oh, man, I don't think

we can do that.

Yeah, ugh.

We gotta do all this paperwork and we don't want to do that.

So yeah."

But no, you're absolutely right.

If people could opt in to a federal insurance program, their employer, if they have employer

sponsored healthcare coverage, would no longer be responsible for that.

That would save corporations and businesses so much money, money that could then hopefully,

although we know how corporations operate when they get more money, but it could be

used to expand your business.

It could be used to lower the price of your services or goods.

It could be used to hire more people.

But in reality, it would probably just be used to give the guys at the top a few extra

bonuses each year.

But yeah, it would save corporations money.

So it's shocking that corporations aren't getting behind this legislation or this effort,

this movement for a Medicare for all style healthcare system.

Typically, most employers here in the United States cover the cost of about 75% of a healthcare

plan for their employee.

The employee pays the remaining 25, comes out of every paycheck in equal amounts.

Some of them only pay 50% so the employee has to pay 50%.

But still, when you're talking about plans that cost roughly 12 to $18,000 per year total

and the employer is footing the bill for 12,000 of that or even 6,000 of that for 100 employees,

you're at $600,000 a year on the very, very low end.

$600,000 a year these corporations could be saving if only they had enough good sense

to tell our politicians to have enough good sense to stop opposing a single payer healthcare

system.

S. Korea asks U.S. for exemption from new 25% auto tariffs - Duration: 0:55.

Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon has asked the Trump administration to exempt Korean vehicles

from America's the soon-to-be imposed tariffs of 25 percent.

He made the request to U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Saturday, local time,...

on the sideline of the G20 meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He called the tariffs unjust,... and said trade with South Korea has contributed to

higher employment and investment in the U.S.

A delegation led by Seoul's Minister for Trade, Kim Hyun-chong ,... also made a similar argument

to U.S. finance officials in Washington last week.

Kim Hyun-chong argued that U.S. concerns about the automobile industry are already reflected

in the two countries' newly revised free trade agreement,... and said such tariffs will only

negatively affect the American economy.

speedy manner.

That's how South Korea President Moon Jae-in's National Security Adviser described his meetings

with U.S. officials as he returned from a visit to Washington this Sunday afternoon.

Chung Eui-yong said he was able to reaffirm with his U.S. counterparts the common goal

of establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula through complete denuclearization as well

as their resolve to maintain close coordination and share related information based on strong

South Korea, U.S. alliance.

Chung, however, said he did not discuss the UN report claiming the arrival of North Korean

coal shipments to South Korea.

US-China trade war: Donald Trump threatens to slap tariff on $500 bn worth of imports from Beijing - Duration: 2:49.

Washington: President Donald Trump on Friday threatened to slap China with $ 500 billion worth of tariffs on import of their products into the US

"I'm ready to go to 500," Trump told CNBC News in an interview. He was referring to the $ 500 billion worth of import from China to the US every year

Trump said he is doing this in the national interest."I'm not doing this for politics

I'm doing this to do the right thing for our country. We have been ripped off by China for a long time, and I told that to President Xi (Jinping)," he said

The US, he reiterated is being taken advantage of by countries like China."We are being taking advantage of and I don't like it," he said

"I would have a higher stock market right now.It could be 80 percent (since the election) if I didn't want to do this," said the president

"I don't want them to be scared.I want them to do well," the US president said of China

"I really like President Xi a lot.But it was very unfair."The US-China spat is the largest and broadest of several trade fights picked by Trump

In excerpts of the interview released on Thursday Trump had broken with the long-established executive branch practice of not commenting on the Federal Reserve's decisions out of respect for its independence

"I'm not thrilled," Trump said, adding "Because we go up and every time you go up they want to raise rates again

" After weeks of unproductive parleys, the US early in July slapped 25 percent tariffs on about $ 34 billion of Chinese mechanical and technological products — evoking a swift response from China which said it would hit back equally

BIGGEST CORRUPTION IN THE US YET – GINGRICH READY TO TAKE IT ON !

"Trump administration is corrupted !" "Trump does the unthinkable !" "US falls in the

hands of Russian lovers !" . Hold on now , don't get mad.

This is just a preview.

A sarcastic way of criticizing fake media.

Yet mainstream media takes this serious.

So serious that they even make themselves believe these stories.

But wait.

Has it always been like this ? Let's see how things went for Obama.

He went in office and media praised him for a long time.

He left office and his administration was worshiped as unmistakable.

Any scandals involving Obama ? Quite a lot actually.

unfortunately not many came to the light of day in mainstream media.

Well Newt Gingrich has enough.

Time to end the corruption.

In a short interview with him he express his concerns about the current situation.

He especially made a very clear point about John Podesta having dinner with Justice Department

officials while Clinton's case was well under investigation.

FBI Director James Comey wasn't going to get away from this one either.

Gingrich had a lot to say about him especially about being the first lying director.

In the end he makes a clear point about why Trump won the elections and why he should

stay there.

There are a lot of critical news going unnoticed and mainstream media wants to make sure it

stays that way.

Comment below and tell them how you feel

about that !

Reminder: Women Migrants Are Fleeing Countries The U.S. Helped Decimate - Duration: 3:38.

Reminder: Women Migrants Are Fleeing Countries The U.S. Helped Decimate

Since the day Donald Trump began his run for the presidential office, he has promoted the idea that people who flee to the U.S.

are bringing their problems here.

But as his administration takes ruthless steps to discourage asylum-seekers, experts and advocates are working to remind Americans — and the world — that some of the violence driving people to seek shelter in the U.S.

has its roots in American foreign policy.

Take domestic violence.

Today, a large proportion of people trying to enter the U.S.

across the Mexican border are Central American women and children fleeing abusive family members.

In June, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the U.S.

would no longer recognize domestic violence as a valid basis for an asylum claim, saying, "the asylum statute does not provide redress for all misfortune.".

But domestic violence in Central America is not the product of random misfortune, advocates for these asylum-seekers say. The region's civil wars, which became bigger and more brutal because of U.S.

intervention, created a generation of abusers and decimated the institutions that ought to have kept survivors safe.

The steady flow of migrants fleeing Central America "is not something that is independent from what the United States has done in the past," explained Cecilia Menjívar, a University of Kansas professor who studies the causes of Central American migration to the U.S.

"It's very much a consequence of the actions of the United States.".

For many decades, but particularly in the 1980s, the United States funneled billions of dollars in military aid to authoritarian Central American governments with the stated goal of combating communism.

The funding, equipment and training transformed civil wars in Guatemala and El Salvador into conflicts of exceptional brutality.

Government forces, sometimes trained by the United States, often exterminated whole villages.

In El Salvador, a country of a few million people, 75,000 people died; roughly a fifth of the population fled.

In Guatemala, a truth commission would later blame the degree of brutality on training military officers received at the U.S.-run School of the Americas.

U.S. condemns "Ortega regime" amid deadly protests in Nicaragua - Duration: 2:58.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo condemned Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega's "regime" amid ongoing protests and violence in the country

During an interview with talk radio host Hugh Hewitt Friday, Pompeo said the State Department is trying to convince Ortega to allow the democratic process to begin

Protests started in April over pension cuts but have since grown into a movement demanding Ortega step down

Thursday marked 39 years since he helped overthrow a previous dictatorship

"He's one of the longest-standing dictators, he's been longer in politics than Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe and someone really who hasn't been prepared to understand to recognize that the society in general does not want him to continue to rule," Manuel Orozco, senior fellow at the Inter-American Dialogue, said on CBSN

"Instead (he) is relying on the use of force and the state of sponsored repression to maintain his political order

" Nicaragua's President Daniel Ortega speaks at the opening of a national dialogue, in Managua, Nicaragua, Wednesday, May 16, 2018

Alfredo Zuniga / AP  According to the Nicaraguan Pro-Human Rights Association, more than 350 people have been killed since the protests started

Despite the clashes, some supporters gathered to hear Ortega speak during a commemoration of the revolution

But Orozco said there are few true supporters for Ortega in the country, and most are state security forces or people living in a "state of denial

" "I think what you see is the typical script of a dictatorship

They try to bring into the streets as many people as possible to show the pretense of popular support," Orozco said

"The number of people who support him is significantly small

In practical terms it's less than one in 10 Nicaraguans."  There's been increasing pressure from the international community for Ortega to allow a democratic transition with early elections

However, Orozco said it's not likely he will be willing to step down within the next few months

"He's been trying to increase repression, killing people, in order to get people back to the table to accept that he's not going to leave until 2021," Orozco said

"But the situation is going to such extreme that he's not going to be able to have support

"

US launches campaign to pile pressure on Iranian leaders - Duration: 6:45.

The Trump administration has launched an offensive of speeches and online communications meant to foment unrest and help pressure Iran to end its nuclear program and its support of militant groups, according to US officials familiar with the matter

More than half a dozen current and former officials said the campaign, supported by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and national security adviser John Bolton, is meant to work in concert with President Donald Trump's push to throttle Iran's economy by re-imposing tough sanctions

The drive has intensified since Mr Trump withdrew on May 8 from a 2015 seven-nation deal to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons

The current and former officials said the campaign painted Iranian leaders in a harsh light, at times using information that is exaggerated or contradicts other official pronouncements, including comments by previous administrations

The White House declined comment on the campaign. The State Department also declined to comment on the campaign specifically, including on Mr Pompeo's role

A senior Iranian official dismissed the campaign, saying the United States had sought in vain to undermine the government since the 1979 Islamic Revolution

He spoke on condition of anonymity.  "Their efforts will fail again," the official said

A review of the State Department's Farsi-language Twitter account and its ShareAmerica website - which describes itself as a platform to spark debate on democracy and other issues - shows a number of posts critical of Tehran over the last month

Iran is the subject of four of the top five items on the website's "Countering Violent Extremism" section

They include headlines such as "This Iranian airline helps spread violence and terror

"  In social media posts and speeches, Mr Pompeo himself also appeals directly to Iranians, the Iranian diaspora and a global audience

On June 21, Mr Pompeo tweeted out graphics headlined: "Protests in Iran are growing," "Iranian people deserve respect for their human rights," and "Iran's revolutionary guard gets rich while Iranian families struggle

" The tweets were translated into Farsi and posted on the ShareAmerica website.  On Sunday, Mr Pompeo will give a speech titled "Supporting Iranian Voices" in California and meet Iranian Americans, many of whom fled the Islamic Revolution that toppled Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi

"Let me be clear, we are not seeking regime change. We are seeking changes in the Iranian government's behaviour," a State Department official said in response to questions from Reuters

"We know we are driving Iran to make some hard choices. Either they can change their ways or find it increasingly difficult to engage in their malign activities," said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity

"And we believe we are offering a very positive vision for what we could achieve and what the Iranian people could have

" At a glance | Key players in Tehran  Some of the information the administration has disseminated is incomplete or distorted, the current and former officials said

In a May 21 speech in Washington, Mr Pompeo said Iranian leaders refused to spend on their people funds freed by the nuclear weapons deal, using it instead for proxy wars and corruption

By contrast, in March testimony before a US Senate committee, the US Defence Intelligence Agency director, Robert Ashley, said social and economic expenditures remained Tehran's near-term priority despite some spending on security forces

How Iran will look to reshape the Middle East if the nuclear deal unravels  Mr Pompeo also accused "Iran-sponsored Shia militia groups and terrorists" of infiltrating Iraqi security forces and jeopardizing Iraq's sovereignty throughout the period of the nuclear agreement

While opponents accuse the Iran-backed Iraqi militias of human rights abuses against civilians, which the groups deny, the militias fought Islamic State extremists and helped keep them from overrunning Iraq in 2014 after Iraq's army collapsed

They then aided the U.S.-backed offensives that liberated ISIS-held territory and some units are being incorporated into Iraqi security forces

Karim Sadjadpour, an Iran expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace think tank, said the strategy to economically strangle Iran and stoke public discontent with the leadership aimed to produce one of two outcomes

"Outcome one is capitulation, forcing Iran to further curtail not only its nuclear program but also its regional ambitions," Mr Sadjadpour said

"Outcome two is the implosion of the Islamic Republic."

Trump says China, EU "manipulating their currencies" -- and U.S. dollar hit - Duration: 3:02.

Last Updated Jul 20, 2018 11:40 AM EDT  President Donald Trump accused China and the European Union of manipulating their currencies lower to make their goods and services less expensive to foreign buyers and again knocked the Federal Reserve for increasing interest rates in the U

S., saying all undercut the nation's "competitive edge." The dollar swiftly weakened against other global currencies after the president's tweets

"As usual, not a level playing field," Mr. Trump wrote. China, the European Union and others have been manipulating their currencies and interest rates lower, while the U

S. is raising rates while the dollars gets stronger and stronger with each passing day - taking away our big competitive edge

As usual, not a level playing field.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 20, 2018  The euro, yen and yuan gained against the U

S. dollar right after the president took to social media on Friday morning, while the dollar index, which measures the U

S. currency against global currencies, was lately off 0.6 percent

"We think the devaluation is on purpose," Carl Weinberg, chief international economist at High Frequency Economics, wrote in a client note regarding China's latest currency change

"Whatever its cause, a cheaper yuan will keep China's unit labor costs in foreign currency from rising in foreign currency terms

" Mr. Trump also took aim at rate increases by the U.S. central bank, departing from decades of presidents refraining from commenting on the strength of the U

S. dollar or the actions of the Federal Reserve to combat inflation and stimulate economic growth

"Tightening now hurts all that we have done. Debt coming due & we are raising rates - Really?" he tweeted

The Fed has hiked interest rates five times since Mr. Trump took office, with the last two increases coming under Chairman Jerome Powell, whom the president picked to replace Janet Yellen

The president's remarks on China and the EU run counter to a semi-annual report from the Treasury Department in April that abstained from identifying any nation as a currency manipulator

The Treasury, usually the lead spokesperson for the dollar, for years has stuck to the script that a strong dollar is good for the economy

The dollar has recently been in rally mode, but Mr. Trump's comments may have put at least a temporarily end to its rise

5 things we noticed as Liverpool hold open US training session - Daily News - Duration: 4:14.

</form> Jurgen Klopp put his Liverpool team through their paces on Saturday, ahead of their International Champions Cup clash with Borussia Dortmund

The Reds are currently in the United States, and were invited to train at the Bank of America Stadium in front of fans from the local area

Here are five things we noticed from the session in the warm North Carolina sun

1. Liverpool have a number two  Zeljko Buvac walked out on Liverpool and Klopp last season, leaving the Reds boss without his 'brain' - his words, not ours

Liverpool failed to bring in a new assistant manager but Pepijn Lijnders rejoined the coaching staff last month, following his stint managing NEC Nijmegen

Lijnders is a big presence and appears to be doing a great job of filling the void

And going into the new season, the Dutchman will be the man sat next to Klopp in the dugout, helping the German achieve Premier League glory

2. A very well-supported team  Liverpool's open training session meant that members of the public were allowed to watch the squad in action

Of course being in America, miles away from Merseyside, you might not think there would be many fans in attendance

But such is the draw of the Anfield giants that hundreds of locals - as well as some travelling supporters - were in the crowd on Saturday

3. The forgotten men  Pre-season provides a level playing field.  And this allows outcasts and forgotten men to show the manager what they're capable of before the final XI going into the new campaign is decided

Lazar Markovic is the epitome of a forgotten man at Liverpool, but the 24-year-old netted for the Reds against Blackburn the other day

Him, like the other overlooked stars at the club, are working on rebuilding their confidence this week, and will hopefully provide Klopp with new options

4. Working on Plan B?  There is no point beating about the bush, Loris Karius' career at Liverpool is finished

The best the German can hope for these days is the odd cup game cameo after the Reds splashed out a record £67million on Alisson
