I quickly realized that you know there was this huge gap in knowledge within

our within the field of fashion history and fashion studies and that's how I

found myself doing my current research which is about this very early history

of the plus-size fashion industry from 1915 to 1931 during that period

plus-sized women were known as stout so hence the name the stout wear industry

and what's really surprised me about these early discussions of the stout

wear industry is about how quickly the discussion moves from just making

garments that fit larger bodies to garments that make the larger body look

more slender. The history of fashion and style guides is another really

interesting and overlooked history oftentimes within these style guides

they're separated into chapters that describe different types of bodies so

you would have the petite body or the matronly body or the stout body and

oftentimes the stout body would be separated into many subcategories. In

these you know media sources Albert Nelson on the one hand is talking about

creating a standardized sizing system for stout bodies but at the same time

he's also using this really modernist language about employing the principles

of optical illusion from making this stout body look more slender so he's

talking about using vertical lines and you know using seams that kind of point

towards the midsection to make the body appear more hourglass. The legacies of

these style guides actually live on to today you know even through the very act

of identifying your particular body type whether you are a stout all-over a type

or a matronly stout woman these vague categories of bodies translate to

today's apple, pear, hourglass silhouettes that we're all so familiar with.

It wasn't about you know dressing to make yourself happy. It wasn't about

dressing to you know say something about your personality. It was about dressing

for one singular goal which is how to look more slender and how to embody this

ideal.

these elements create one trendy outfit. You can wear any other shoes that are comfortable

for you. Maybe white sneakers.

#3. BOHEMIAN MATERNITY OUTFIT Boho is another trend that comes back during

the summer. The bohemian trend is easy to wear and will suit everyone. You could go

for an outfit like this one, the key element is the long off the shoulder dress. It is

light, floaty, stylish and will keep you cool. The rest is just accessories which you can

choose yourself, just wear sunglasses, jewelry etc. that you like.

Sweet and Creamy Nectar Soda – Old Fashion Low Carb Keto Ice Cream Soda - Duration: 2:16.

Welcome all! Papa G here. Today I present a sweet treat that will rewind the clock

when mom-and-pop soda fountain shops were common in neighborhoods. My sweet

and creamy low carbohydrate nectar soda. With all of the net carbs coming from the ice

cream, the sky's the limit with what you can make with a few simple ingredients.

Let's get started... We'll begin by making our nectar syrup.

Add some granulated sugar substitute to a saucepan on medium heat. Add some water

and stir occasionally until the sweetener has fully dissolved. This may

take about 3 to 5 minutes. You'll see it turn a milky white, then slowly become

clear. Turn the heat off and let cool. Pour the cooled liquid into a small

mixing bowl or portable measuring cup like I'm doing here. Add a half a

tablespoon of vanilla extract; one full tablespoon of almond extract; and finish

off with a little red food coloring. Give a mix to incorporate. Place in the

refrigerator to chill. Now we're ready to make the soda. Using a frosted glass, add

a quarter cup of the nectar syrup; 1/2 a cup of your favorite low carbohydrate ice cream.

Here I'm using Halo Top's Vanilla Bean flavor.

Now finish with some chilled sparkling water or club soda.

Add a straw... mix in the ice cream... and enjoy! There you have it folks! My low

carbohydrate nectar soda. A sweet way to bring back the sodas from the past. I hope you

AUAS Summer School - Fashion Challenge Amsterdam - Duration: 1:37.

Fashion is a dynamic industry which appeals to a lot of people.

However, it is quite complex.

During this AUAS summer course you will work for eight or more fashion designers,

from West, Central, and East Europe.

You will market and sell their collections in the Amsterdam area.

Culture and fashion will be the scope of this summer course,

embedded in lectures from fashion academics, and companies' fashion managers.

What we do in this summer course, is that we bring the real world into the academic world.

There are also four real-life projects in it:

Market research, fashion magazine, fashion show, and fashion sales.

And it is related, it is connected to eight to twelve designers from abroad, and from Holland.

And you will have to arrange everything:

Sponsors, catering, venue, backstage, models, makeup stylists.

Whatever is needed to have a good fashion show.

Last year Arrabella participated in the Fashion Challenge summer course at the AUAS.

I had a lot of fun during the summer school, because I worked with a lot of international students,

and this way I got to know other cultures,

and it was nice to see how they experience our country, and Amsterdam.
