Just a quick update

Spring time is coming

It's almost time to get the cars out of the garage

We talked about this stuff before

Nobody really thinks about safety

but be careful

check the lugnuts

make sure you've got oil in it

it didn't drain out

check your anti-freeze and stuff too

that's something people don't do very much

they don't

they don't look at the anti-freeze for 3, 4, 5 years sometimes

it can get acidic in there

so it doesn't cost much

just change it

Also, for the guys that have the

quote on quote

super nice cars

and have trailers and haul their stuff around with trailers

make sure you walk around

check the lugnuts on the trailer

go through the trailer

actually, we've got a beautiful trailer here

that we use to do deliveries for people

the trailers not that old

and boy we went through a set of tires pretty quick on that

luckily my drivers a good guy, walks around

and checks that stuff

we had to replace the tires on it

Check your trailer

make sure that stuff is safe

check the car

make sure when you start it up

you are not going to harm it

and all that jazz

and that's the automotive side of it

I'd like to bring up one thing

in these tip of the week sometimes

I don't do stuff always about cars

just kind of about general things

of course cars we love

and that's what we do

but I like to throw in the odd thing

lately, I want to bring something up

kind of crazy

lately there is a new thing going around out there

it's called Spoofing

and that's where they'll take my phone number

that they got off the Internet

which they'll probably do again

but it doesn't bother me anymore

they'll send out mass texts

they'll have 30-40 people on these texts

and you accidentally click on it

and it gets you sucked in to the text

then for days and days they don't let you out

they're pitting people against eachother

because unfortunately the people that got the text

as well don't know that they're involved in it

by the time they figure it out

it's a big headache

guys, if you're out there doing this stuff

grow up!

it's stupid

it's idiotic

people got far better things to do

with their time

get a life

get out there and go to the gym

find a girlfriend

get off your stupid computer

stop throwing out viruses and things like that

it's really stupid

so anyway

that's my tip of the week

if you see one of these crazy messages

it hasn't been coming on email

it's been coming on actual text message

and you see a group text come to you or

something weird

just don't click on it

just erase it and avoid it

these guys will go play in the sandbox somewhere by themselves

but, have a great one!

TDS Classic: Advanced Problem Solving - Duration: 2:34.

So, one of the things we tried to do with TDS Classic was look at all the various problems

that we were having and try to solve those.

Some of the things, for example, were initially just how to make it easier for a team of 5

or 6 or 7 people to work on a Sitecore implementation.

Back when we started those were considered fairly large implementations, and we tried

to target that.

The next thing we tried to solve was, you know, the whole process of collecting all

of the changes that a development team has made and then trying to get them committed

to source control and then finally to production.

What we really tried to do was take...I guess the core of TDS Classic was to try to take

the, um, the SDLC that we were used to using for code and try to turn Sitecore development

into that.

So I think that, you know, from the start you're actually putting your items with your

code into Source Control so the two are actually very closely related and dependent on each

other and the fact that you're moving them together through environments, through source

control, with the rest of your team means that you're not breaking your site and missing

items and missing code or whatever.

It's a single source of truth that you're keeping together.

On top of that you can get into the more advanced features of TDS that can actually protect

you from breaking your site.

We have things like environment validation, where it will check that you're not pushing

the DLL that's a different version of what's already there.

You can do things like checking that packages are already installed in your site, making

sure that you're not going to push something thinking it's there but it's not.

Then you can add validators to make sure that your items aren't pushing things that they

shouldn't - so imagine you push the home page but you're pushing developer content to that

home page.

That could be horrible because then your front-end users of your website are suddenly seeing

Lorum Ipsum everywhere, you don't want that happening.

So, TDS protects against that.

And on top of that, this is an enterprise tool with full commercial support so we're

there to help you with all these features that can help improve both your development

efficiency but also protecting you against breaking your own website.
