Republican Congressman Furious That California Is Providing Aide To Homeless Citizens - Duration: 4:32.

Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher is absolutely furious that the city of Santa

Cruz, California is being decent to homeless people.

Here's a little back story on this.

Recently, Orange County in California wanted to do something about homeless people, so

they were going to remove park benches.

They were going to remove any place where homeless people could go sleep.

They were going to destroy those little tent cities that they had set up.

They didn't want homeless people anywhere around their county, so Santa Cruz came in

and said, "Okay, well look, if you're kicking all these homeless people out, we're going

to do something to help them.

We're going to set up temporary shelters for them so that they're not just wandering the

streets at night in the cold, in the rain, and the heat, and whatever.

We're going to treat them like the human beings they actually are."

That is what has pissed off Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher.

Here's what Rohrabacher specifically said: "As a parent who owns a modest home in an

Orange County neighborhood, I join the outrage that we are assuming responsibility for homeless

people, taking care of their basic needs, and elongating their agony by removing the

necessity to make fundamental decisions about the way they live their lives."

According to Rohrabacher, every single person that's homeless in Orange County is so because

they've either screwed up their life somehow by poor decisions they've made, or because

they want to be.

Taking care of their basic needs, that is a specific line pulled out of his little quote

there, taking care of their basic needs.

How dare we as a society try to take care of somebody's basic needs, like food, and

shelter, running water, a toilet?

Yeah, that's a real crappy thing for a city or a county to try to do, right?

Rohrabacher's comments here are a continuation of the Republican Party's hatred of poor people.

It's not a disdain for poor people.

It's not a preference for rich people.

It is a deep-seated hatred built in to the Republican Party itself to hate poor people.

There are plenty of studies out there.

There is plenty of empirical data to show that most people who are homeless did not

make poor choices in life.

They're the victims of circumstances, of a down economy, of financial scams, financial

frauds.

Plenty of people lost their homes and had nowhere to go after the housing bubble crash,

which was caused by the big banks, but yeah, let's blame the homeless people.

Let's keep them out of our sight, because if we don't see it happening, then it's not

really happening, right, Dana?

Is that how it works?

You are a disgusting human being, absolutely disgusting, just like those Republicans from

Colorado recently who tweeted out that Republicans hate poor people because being poor is beneath

the dignity of a man.

Guess what?

Sometimes people are poor, and as a civilized country, as one of the wealthiest countries

in the world, we have a duty to take care of them.

As a Christian, as these Republicans claim to be, you have a religious obligation to

take care of them.

That's actually part of your religion, if you want to get into that little place you

call heaven, because if you treat people like dirt, if you treat them as anything less than

a human being, guess what?

According to your religion that you subscribe to, you're going to burn for all of eternity.

Is that what you want, just so that you don't have to see homeless people when you're driving

to and from your house?

Is that worth it?

I don't know.

That's what you believe, but you're not doing anything to solve the problem.

You would rather these people sleep out there on the sidewalks, get run over from sleeping

in the streets then treat them like basic human beings.

Rohrabacher represents every single thing that is wrong with the modern-day Republican

Party, and it's not just Rohrabacher, it's damn near every single one of them.

U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested two potentially

dangerous men, a previously convicted sex offender and a "Border Brothers" gang

member, who illegally entered the United States.

The first incident happened on March 29, at approximately 8:45 p.m., when Border Patrol

agents patrolling approximately one half mile miles east of the Calexico Port of Entry,

encountered a man after he entered the United States by climbing over the fence separating

the U.S. and Mexico.

Agents arrested the man and transported him to the Calexico Station.

During processing duties, agents observed the man had several tattoos indicative of

the "Border Brothers" gang.

Upon questioning, the man claimed to have been part of the notorious criminal gang,

"Border Brothers."

The man, a 37-year-old Mexican citizen, will be removed to his country of origin.

The second incident occurred April 1, at approximately 9:30 a.m., when Border Patrol agents patrolling

34 miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry, encountered a man who had illegally entered

the United States.

Border Patrol agents arrested the man and transported him to the El Centro Station for

processing.

Agents conducted record checks, which revealed that the man was a convicted sex offender

and has an active warrant out of Orange County for dangerous drugs.

"Our job as Border Patrol agents is not only to enforce immigration laws but to ensure

the safety and well-being of our community," said Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David Kim.

"Our agents protect our communities and our country from threats like this every day."

The man, a 57-year-old Mexican citizen, will be prosecuted as a reinstatement of a previous

removal.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department

of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders

at and between the official ports of entry.

CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while

enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.

in 2012 the Obama administration imposed new standards which would have required

automakers to nearly double the average fuel economy of new cars and light

trucks by the year 2025 to fifty four point five miles per gallon vastly

reducing fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions proponents say

but at great expense to the automobile industry it adds to car prices it

restricts car choices but really the worst thing it does is it makes cars

less safe you increase the miles per gallon it gets but you also decrease its

crash worthiness adding to automakers dilemma is a potential balkanization of

fuel economy standards that would further increase costs California has

its own tougher fuel standards which thirteen states and DC follow its

Attorney General Xavier Becerra vowed today to maintain those standards

regardless of what EPA does tweeting California is prepared to take any steps

necessary to protect our planet and people but Sara's threat comes as an

internal EPA document on how officials should talk to the public about global

warming is also coming under fire The Associated Press contacted 15 climate

scientists who said the talking points don't reflect reality

the EPA won't comment on how much fuel economy standards will change noting the

final determination will be signed this Sunday with a Tuesday ceremony at a

stopped you with the border and test your emissions if they did something

like that it would be unconstitutional because it

interferes with Interstate Commerce which is a federal or congressional area

of regulation now California is a huge car market so you can understand a saw

makers could make cars to the standards required in California and the consumer

abatement but a different Auto for everybody else

yes you can't do that that's impossible you can't do it

well if California requires it the car makers will do it because as you said

it's such an extraordinary market and the consumer will pay for it presumably

the consumer wants it because the consumer elected a government that has

required it that's at least the theory of how this works aren't the voters in

California crazy progressive just like they're loopy governor you're coming

email it would be impossible to have one set of cars built to this set of

standards for everybody there's an another set of cars with different staff

of tractor trailers and one state wanted them rounded and another state wanted

Court said you can't do that you're making it more expensive to transport

the goods by stopping the truck oh so so they said a federal standard I think

the car market yes automakers will not be making two

sets of course in California loses California will win if it limits cars

registrable in California to those with the higher admissions wrong wrong so

It's totally outrageous that more than one million illegal immigrants living in California

have received driver's licenses, according to a new report.

The state's Department of Motor Vehicles announced that as of March 31, 1,001,000 illegal

immigrants have received licenses, The Sacramento Bee reported on Wednesday.

Illegal immigrants have been legally allowed to obtain driver's licenses in the state

since Jan. 1, 2015 after Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 60, "The Safe

and Responsible Drivers Act," into law.

The bill was meant to help illegal immigrants "get to work, drive their children to school,

and run everyday errands without the fear of being pulled over," according to DriveCA.

The legislation is "working the way it was intended to and has dramatically improved

the lives of a million immigrants and their families," Luis Alejo, author of the bill

in 2013 as a then-Democratic assemblyman, told the newspaper in a statement.

"Immigrants are getting tested, licensed and insured and this is making our roads safer

for everyone," Alejo added.The licenses "have a visible distinguishing feature and

cannot be used for certain federal purposes," such as gaining access to restricted federal

areas, and don't grant illegal immigrants the right to vote.

California isn't the only state that allows illegal immigrants to legally have a driver's

license.

Eleven other states — Colorado, Hawaii, Vermont, New Mexico, Maryland, Illinois, Delaware,

Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and Washington, D.C. — also allow those without legal U.S.

citizenship to apply for licenses if they can provide specific documentation, "such

as a foreign birth certificate, a foreign passport, or a consular card and evidence

of current residency in the state."
