Did Melania Cry In Anguish When Trump Was Elected? Here's What Sean Spicer Says

let me start with this because we had someone from Trump corporation on last

night to talk about the book because he was quoted heavily and he said some was

true some was it what do you make of the accuracy of this book so so far the book

is not out yet we've seen x-ray and the experts come out show that there's some

narratives that sound that they could be interesting but by and large very

interesting that it's like there are certain things that I've read that say

that this event happened and that that's plausible okay but there's a lot of the

quotes that I know are attributed to myself and other people that frankly

never happened and if you read the author's note that he put in the book

that I've obtained a copy he makes it clear that you know Michael Wolff who

has a history of fabricating stuff who is a very questionable past and a lot of

reporters are now kind of digging into this and saying you know we've got to

question his sourcing here he admits that he never brought any note he took

notes he didn't bring a recorder to the thing yeah there is no question that the

accuracy of this book is definitely in question and I know from some of the

things that were written that don't pertain to me definitely didn't happen

with respect to the president the first lady

yeah the White House today called it a complete but I I was around them I'm not

in every instance by any means right but the idea that you know Melania Trump was

the one who encouraged President Trump to run for office she was very

supportive of this the idea that she was crying isn't is is nonsense

she's been very supportive of her president of the president of his agenda

and of him personally and so I think that you start to disguise the biggest

problem that I have but at what point the question is if ten percent isn't

true of 20 percent is in truth a person what is the reader supposed to guess

what is accurate and what isn't but I know from what I've seen so far that

there is a lot of this if not and we've only seen the excerpts yeah it is

definitely okay why why did he get so much access then

he's kind of a discredited because we don't know how much access he got what

we do that I walked to 200 people in the way I can talk to 200 people in the

middle of on the circle that doesn't mean that I

had a ton of access I meant he wrote he talked to 200 people on the record sure

so we know he talked to Steve Bannon I talked to him he came in and said I'd

like to write a book about the president as did several people during my tenure

and they made an appointment they came in that's how it works and so to the

extent that and from what I understand Steve had set him up with appointments

to come in and visit him over time that's what happens he came in as any

guest that has an appointment Bannon hasn't denied any of right and I was

gonna say I mean the other issue right now is you know you play the clip from

Steve yeah and while he may continue to say he's a present supporter of the

president in his agenda what we didn't hear is a denial and that's that is what

as a PR person troubles me I mean the first thing that you do when you're

attacked with a falsehood is is not only deny it but go out and really make the

case for I haven't heard any of that no I do you think the stuff that he said

both according to Michael Wolfe and in previous articles where he's maybe

perhaps leaked stuff himself do you think you that he's been loyal to the

president what we're like or like the statement from the White House said is

Steve Bannon all about himself well I think if you're all about the president

if you're all about his agenda then you don't you don't attack the first lady

you don't attack the president's family that's just that should be off-limits

regardless of this NDA that that Steve signed I think just in terms of true

professionalism and loyalty and decency you don't go after the president's

family you don't make up things about people and again and a lot of it

admittedly is speculative the stuff about Don jr. he wasn't present for and

he goes out there and a taxed on jr. and says well if I were there and knowing

what I know well you don't know you weren't there and to make those kind of

allegations which are very serious about something about the president's son it's

just is that about do you believe that Steve Bannon has a motive to run for

president or anything like that oh look here's what I do know if Donald Trump

runs for reelection you will be the nominee of the Republican Party and he

will serve a second term I mean that's what I know I don't talk about that

let's talk about the the other rift in the party which is that Donald Trump has

losing some Republican support among Republicans writ large in February had

an 84% approval rating November 76 white evangelicals in February he was at 78

November 61 among men crucial to his to his election February 45 down five

points in November do you think there's a plan either at the RNC or

with Trump to recapture some of those voters yes I have to of course he does I

mean you have close elections last several cycles you have to get them back

and I think he will you're seeing some of the fruits of the tax and jobs cut

act already come in where people are starting to give him credit as companies

give out bonuses as people see that the economy is gonna be the number one thing

going for the president going in to this and I think he's doing that the RNC is

gonna continue to make sure that they have the data ready to identify key

voters and bring them back into the fold but it's the president's accomplishments

they're gonna keep him ahead to get him to get in a second term I mean when you

look at this I know you've been critical of the president is there what what is

it gonna take to get someone like you back on the team yeah I mean I'll say

the short answer is put put Twitter down but it's more than that it's not just

the tweets which I find really unproductive and kind of alarming

sometimes and embarrassing it's what he does with Twitter which is such a

important app or off the table attacking the press okay I don't like his

hostility to the press I think undermining institutions like the press

the military our intelligence services our foreign services that's bad and I

don't like that I would say dick look I would say with respect to to all three

of those but especially the military the president has tremendous respect and

he's made it very clear with the press I and I've said this before he has respect

for them but he want he's gonna make it very clear that I think it's it's very

much Donald Trump's mission to undermine the trust of many institutions so that

he himself is the person and the only person that the percentage that you

could vote for him in the next election the likelihood yep 50% okay

What was your biggest culture shock going to Turkey? - Around The World - Duration: 11:29.

What was your biggest culture shock going to Turkey?

I visited Turkey with my family for a month in 2013 and was shocked on a daily basis.

Although I usually do the homework before visiting any country for the first time, I had been too busy that time to do any research on Turkey.

All I had in mind before flying was the warnings I had received from several Turkish restaurant staff who worked in Saudi Arabia where I lived at the time against thieves, robbers and being conned, in addition to lots of prejudice I had formed subconsciously through school textbooks that had always described the Ottomans as the cruel conquerors who had stolen Arab countries wealth and hindered our growth and development.

I stayed the whole month in Izmir, since I was doing a teacher training course there, so I will be describing my experience there.

What shocked me can be summarized in the following points:.

1- The incomparable friendliness of all the people we met.

People were always ready to render help everywhere we went.

They smiled and greeted us warmly.

Literally everyone we met did their best to please us and ensure a memorable stay.

Although the language was a barrier, they would call friends who spoke English or German and called others in the nearby to answer a question of ours or give us directions.

We were invited to a big number of homes to have meals and enjoy the intimacy of the locals.

We received the first invitation during our first hour at Ataturk airport while waiting for our domestic flight to Izmir.

We accepted the invitation and have been friends with that family ever since.

The Turks proved to be more hospitable than we thought any people outside the Arab world would be.

2- The beautify of Izmir.

I never thought I would find such amazing landscapes, clean streets, the great abundance of greenery everywhere, the amazing gulf, turquoise water, and breath-taking views of the sea especially from the top of the hills.

3- The Turks attitude towards kids.

Wherever we went, people would greet my kids warmly and cheerfully and give them something; a bar of chocolate, a piece of candy, and even a pack of paper tissues when they couldnt find something nicer to offer.

That touched our hearts deeply.

My now seven-year-old daughter keeps asking me to take her back there where people are sweet and generous towards kids.

We have never experienced anything similar in any other country we have been to.

4- The number of Muslims who were not practicing.

It was the month of Ramadhan (ramazan) but I was the only one fasting at the school along with a young student.

On the streets I could easily realize that a big majority of people would eat and have drinks as if it wasnt Ramadhan.

Cafés and restaurants were open and offered their stuff, unlike in almost all Arab countries where you hardly see any ones open at daytime.

In addition, womens clothes were also shocking for us.

Most teachers, students and other girls in the streets had mini skirts, shorts and revealing outfits.

I had been to several European countries but had never seen women wearing that revealing clothing for work and school.

Moreover, most people I talked to knew little about their religion.

Some didnt even know the basics.

This is not true for most educated Arabs.

Yet it didnt bother us at all.

We enjoyed peoples attitude and manners and that is what counts, isnt it?.

5- Poor proficiency of English.

I am a teacher of English.

I was told that English was mandatory in all Turkish schools.

Yet, most people I met and even some teachers of English didnt speak English well.

Some struggled with the very basic everyday conversations.

I fully understood the situation as exactly the same was true in my homeland Egypt, mainly due to the exam-oriented approach of teaching and lack of real life and in-classroom practice.

Its sad that students study hard and do their best but yet end up lacking the basic skills of communication.

I believe policymakers and education officials must do something about that, especially with the growing economy and the international weight Turkey aspires for.

6- Apparent diversity of races and physical beauty of people.

We could easily tell people there came from different races with a wide range of skin, eye, and hair colors, along with facial and physical differences.

We loved that fact a lot and thought such diversity enriched the cultural momentum of the city.

Moreover, we found the Turks very beautiful, elegant and attractive no matter which sex or how old they were.

7- The kindergarten.

Offering two hot meals and asking for no stationary, while charging little money (90 TL a month for a kid) was incomprehensible for us.

Teachers loved my daughter and she had a great time with her classmates despite the language barrier.

In both Saudi Arabia and Egypt, there is no music or dance in K-12 schools, except for a few elite private ones.

Rihanna used to dance to Gagnam Style and learn moves in her class.

She loved it.

Having a swimming pool in the KG was amazing.

When we traveled back home, my daughter hated her kindergarten and eventually stopped going after comparing it to her KG experience in Turkey.

All in all, Turkey has shocked us one of the nicest shocks we have ever had in our life.

We loved everything about Izmir and wished we could stay there forever.
