Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to offer African nations billions of dollars

in aid and loans.

President Xi is hosting the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing where the leaders of

nearly 50 African nations will gather.

The event is being seen as China's apparent attempt to secure more allies and potential

trade partners amid a bitter trade war with the U.S.

In a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Sunday, a day ahead of the gathering,

President Xi reiterated that China is still determined to reform and wants to work with

all parties to build an open world economy.

The Chinese president is also expected to use the gathering to defend his Belt and Road

infrastructure, which has faced some criticism recently for leaving countries that have joined

with significant debt.

John McCain laid to rest at U.S. Naval Academy - Duration: 0:51.

The body of late Republican Senator John McCain has been laid to rest at the U.S. Naval Academy

in Maryland.

The burial caps a week of memorials for the Vietnam war veteran.

Political heavyweights from both sides of the aisle gathered at his funeral over the

weekend, with the exception of incumbent President Donald Trump.

Relations between McCain and Trump have often been sour, and the late Senator's family is

said to have not wanted Trump to attend the funeral.

During the memorial service, McCain's daughter Meghan took a thinly veiled swipe at President

Trump, saying the America of John McCain has no need to be made great again, because America

was always great.

President Trump, as expected, tweeted shortly after those comments, repeating his campaign

slogan in block capitals: "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN"

Labor Day 2018 (United States) Celebrations - Duration: 1:49.

Today the Search Engine Google is celebrating Labor Day 2018 with Google Doodle in United

States of America.

Labour Day (Labor Day in the United States) is an annual holiday to celebrate the achievements

of workers.

Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day

movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight

hours for rest.

For most countries, Labour Day is synonymous with, or linked with, International Workers'

Day, which occurs on 1 May.

For other countries, Labour Day is celebrated on a different date, often one with special

significance for the labour movement in that country.

Labour Day is a public holiday in many countries.

All across the United States, Americans observe Labor Day with block parties, barbecues, picnics,

parades, and trips to the beach.

Although the first Monday in September does signal the end of Summer, a day off from work

or school is always cause for celebration!

Amidst all the fun, let's not forget that Labor Day is a time to honor the social and

economic achievements of the American worker.

Inspired by the labor movement, Labor Day was intended to celebrate "the strength

and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations."

First adopted at the state level, it became a federal holiday in 1894.

Today's Doodle honors all hard-working people whether they be doctors, cooks, plumbers,

construction workers, or of any other profession.

Happy Labor Day , America

Labor Day 2018 (U.S) Google Doodle - Duration: 1:26.

The Search Engine Google is showing this Doodle in United Stated for the Labor Day 2018.

Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in

September.

It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to

the strength, prosperity, laws and well-being of the country.

It is the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend and it is considered

the unofficial end of summer in the United States.

The holiday is also a federal holiday.

Beginning in the late 19th century, as the trade union and labor movements grew, trade

unionists proposed that a day be set aside to celebrate labor.

"Labor Day" was promoted by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor, which organized

the first parade in New York City.

In 1887, Oregon was the first state of the United States to make it an official public

holiday.

By the time it became an official federal holiday in 1894, thirty U.S. states officially

celebrated Labor Day

Today's Google Doodle honors all hard-working people—whether they be doctors, cooks, plumbers,

construction workers, or of any other profession.

US golfer Joe Durant misses easy putt on penultimate hole, costs him $250,000 - Duration: 3:01.

The 54-year-old, who has four PGA tour wins and three PGA Tour Champions wins in his career, entered the final round of the PGA Tour Champions' Shaw Charity Classic in Canada with the lead

However, a pair of bogeys on the 13th and 15th holes saw Durant in a tie for the lead with Scott McCarron

With a simple one-foot putt at the 17th, it looked like the pair would go to the final hole tied for the lead, until tragedy struck for Durant

The missed putt left Durant needing an eagle on the final hole to match McCarron

The cringe-worthy miss meant Durant finished in a tie of second with two other players

While the prizemoney of $A240,000 will help ease his pain, it could have been much better with McCarron defending his title and going home with just under $A490,000

Durant didn't mince his words when asked about the miss after the tournament finished

"I didn't take my time and missed it, lipped it out and made bogey," Durant said about the 17th

"Just total mental meltdown. And when you do stuff like that, you don't deserve to win a golf tournament

" While you feel for Durant, it goes to show even the professionals can get it wrong
