12 inches of snow in New England on Thursday.
The governors of Florida, Georgia and North Carolina have declared states of emergency.

US reveals SECRET WEAPON: Flying aircraft carriers with SWARMS of 'Gremlin' drones
The huge aircraft will quickly release armies of drones to assault enemy targets before returning to dock with their flying mothership.
A US defence department research agency has fixed a price with two weapons companies to develop the drones, named 'gremlins', and expects to conduct a demonstration of the system next year.
The gremlins could be sent high beyond the reach of enemy weapon systems and would cost less than the missiles an adversary would need to shoot them down. The aircraft could also be used up to 20 times.
Gremlins drones would be ejected from the back of a C130 and are able to return to the aircraft after their mission. They are also equipped with bombs, radar and cameras, each with a limit of 60lb and 300-mile range.
The drone programme, launched in 2015 by the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa), was envisioned to release flocks of small and relatively inexpensive drones deployed from lightly modified fighter jets, bombers and transport planes.
These drones could operate as a team or individually, carrying out intelligence or attacking missile and radar positions.
Drone technology already allows for unmanned aircraft to be launched in mid-air, and small drones are thought to have been launched in this way from an F-16 - but retrieving them again, in mid-air, poses far greater challenges.
The programme manager, Scott Wierzbanowski, said last year the first phase examined how a returning drone might land with "minimal modification to the host aircraft".
In phase two of the programme, Darpa charged a company called Dynetics, in Alabama, and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, the San Diego-based developer of the Predator drone, were charged with developing models for the gremlins with a 300-mile range and 60lb payload.
Phase three involves an inflight demonstration of the system. Jared Adams, of Darpa, said yesterday contracts for the third phase will be awarded this year, according to The Times.
The agency intend for the drones to land, or be "captured", at the back of a C-130, a challenging manoeuvre because of turbulence at the rear of the plane.
The journal of the United States Naval Institute reported that each gremlin would cost about $700,000, adding that the drones should have an ability to self-destruct if they could not make it back to their mothership.

Winter storm hits eastern part of U.S., causing at least 12 deaths in four states - Duration: 2:00.
A freak winter storm is slamming the eastern part of the United States,... causing at least
twelve deaths in four different states.
Park Ji-won has more.
An intense storm... packing strong winds and heavy snow... is hitting the northeastern
U.S., dumping piles of snow on the region.
The storm caused more than 27-hundred flight cancellations this week,... and CNN reports
that at least twelve people have died this week from the cold in four different states.
Six deaths have been reported in Wisconsin, four in Texas, one in Missouri and one in
North Dakota.
The National Weather Service forecasts that upto 40 centimeters of snow is expected to
fall in parts of New England.
"Snow covered roads, high winds, and the fact that this storm will bring two to three inches
of snow per hour will make driving hazardous and we are urging the public to please stay
off the roads tomorrow unless absolutely necessary and to use public transit."
The southeastern U.S. is also being affected by strong winter gusts and record snowfall.
Georgia has issued a state of emergency for coastal counties,... and South Carolina's
governor warned people to stay indoors.
"So don't drive if you don't have to.
If absolutely necessary, then drive, but otherwise don't.
And don't put the emergency personnel at risk because if you go out and something happens,
that means someone's going to have to come get you and that puts everybody at risk and
also takes them away from other tasks they need to be doing."
The stormy weather even brought snow to Florida on Wednesday... the first time snow has accumulated
since 1989.
Florida State University and Florida A&M University temporarily closed due to the severe weather
conditions.

The person to watch in San Jose–and Pyeongchang–will be Nathan Chen, who is considered the United States' best chance for an individual figure skating medal in South Korea.
Though the 18-year-old finished just sixth in last year's World Championships, he's the defending US champ and has yet to lose this season, having captured victories at the US International Figure Skating Classic, the Rostelecom Cup, Skate America and the Grand Prix final–the last of which marking the first time since 2012 a Japanese man didn't win.
"I definitely think there is additional pressure," Chen said.
"But it is reassuring.
I am happy with the way things have gone, happy I am in this position.
This is what I wanted for a long time.
I personally remind myself to embrace it.".
Chen is expected to be joined in Pyeongchang by fellow men's singles skaters Adam Rippon, the 2016 US champ, and Jason Brown, who finished ninth at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, though the likes of Max Aaron, Grant Hochstein and Vincent Zhou are also in the mix.
On the women's side, Ashley Wagner is an overwhelming favorite for one of the three spots.
Since finishing seventh at the Olympics four years ago, the 26-year-old won silver at the 2016 Worlds and tallied three consecutive Top-3 finishes (first, third, second) at the US Championships from 2014 to 2016.
There are several worthy candidates hoping to join Wagner on Team USA.
Mirai Nagasu, a 2010 Olympian, is enjoying a nice season that includes a second-place finish at the US International Figure Skating Classic.
19-year-old Bradie Tennell, the 2015 US Junior Champ, has shown her promise with a third-place finish at the Grand Prix Skate America.
Karen Chen is the defending US champ and finished fourth at last year's world championships.
Mariah Bell took third at last year's US nationals, and 2014 Olympian Polina Edmunds is also in the mix.
As a reminder, the results of the US championships don't fully determine who makes Team USA.
The results will simply be taken into account by a committee, who will use many other factors when deciding who represents the Red, White and Blue in Pyeongchang.

South Korea makes case against proposed U.S. restrictions on washer imports - Duration: 0:54.
A delegation of South Korean government and business officials attended a public hearing
in Washington to make the case against a proposal for import restrictions on Korean-made washing
machines.
They say the safeguard measures recommended by the U.S. Trade Representative violate World
Trade Organization agreements.
That it could lead to increased import controls around the world,... in the long run, adversely
affecting American exports as well.
The hearing comes after the U.S. International Trade Commission called for a 50 percent tariff
on LG and Samsung residential washers that exceed an import quota of 1-point-2 million
units.
The Wall Street Journal report...
U.S. import volumes for washers and solar panels more than doubled in November on-year...
and this may be an attempt to stock up on the products before a new trade barrier gets
in the way.
The final decision on the matter will be made by President Donald Trump on February second.
