Chinese buyers are the largest group of foreign property buyers in the United States.

They're ahead of Canadian buyers and the National Association of Realtors

said they spent a record 31.7 billion dollars in 2016.

That's 14 percent of the total value of foreign housing investment.

But who are they really? Fact is, not all Chinese are the same.

16.2% are buying for education purposes

whereby they search for a place

for their children to live in while attending university

3.1% want to immigrate to the United States

44.6% are looking for a good investment opportunity

while 65.7% are buying for their own use.

In other words, there are many different reasons for buying.

What's more, Chinese living in the U.S. versus Chinese living overseas like mainland China or Hong Kong

can have very different preferences it's about 10 vs 90 right now

but there is no rule limiting the purchase of property by a foreign buyer.

This means Chinese buyers can buy any property that is available to U.S. buyers.

But how can Chinese find U.S. properties? Buyers from China are browsing the

Internet from behind China's Great Firewall, which limits their access to

the majority of foreign websites.

This means it matters where your listing is hosted.

Otherwise they simply cannot see it.

Furthermore Chinese property buyers read and speak Mandarin Chinese.

So it's crucial that you can provide

content and support in their language.

So, what are you doing to reach this segment of the market?

We're here to help .

LG to raise U.S. retail prices of washing machines after U.S. imposes steep tariffs - Duration: 1:57.

In response to the Trump administration's decision to impose steep tariffs on washing

machine and solar panel imports,... Korea's LG Electronics has said it will raise the

retail prices of most of its washing machines in the U.S.

Park Ji-won has this report.

LG Electronics will raise the prices of its washing machine models in the U.S. market

due to changes in the terms of trade.

It explained the move in a letter to U.S. retailers on Wednesday, but didn't mention

the details or timing of the price increases.

The move came,... two days after the Trump administration decided to impose safeguard

measures against imports of Korean washing machines and solar panels.

While American companies like Whirlpool welcomed such strong trade barriers,... industry watchers

in the U.S. warned that the tariffs would increase prices and reduce choice for American

consumers.

Solar energy companies said that the tariff will actually hurt the industry and potentially

threaten tens of thousands of jobs in the U.S. due to falling demand and investment.

Meanwhile,... the South Korean government made an official request for negotiations

with the United States Trade Representative regarding the safeguard measures,... which

is a requirement of the consultation process set by the World Trade Organisation.

Earlier this week,...

U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said the Trump administration approved a 20-percent

tariff on the first 1-point-two million imported washing machines,... and a 50-percent tariff

on washers above that number,.... as well as a 30-percent tariff on solar cells,...

in order to protect American producers in those industries.

Park Ji-won, Arirang News.

Illegal Aliens Quietly Being Relocated Throughout U.S. on Commercial Flights - BreakingNews24 - Duration: 18:22.

Illegal Aliens Quietly Being Relocated Throughout U.S. on Commercial Flights

Immigrants entering the United States illegally through the southern border are quietly being

relocated to different parts of the country on commercial flights, high-ranking Homeland

Security officials told Judicial Watch this week.

In the last few days alone, groups of illegal aliens boarded planes at airports in Texas

and Arizona accompanied by a taxpayer-funded government escort in civilian clothes to avoid

drawing attention.

The first flight originated at Valley International Airport in Harlingen, Texas and was bound

for Minneapolis.

The second left from Tucson International Airport and arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah,

federal sources said.

In both locations the illegal aliens appeared to be in their late teens and were escorted

by a Health and Human Services (HHS) chaperone.

Judicial Watch reached out to HHS for comment but did not hear back from the agency.

The illegal aliens wear red HHS wrist bands and receive "the gold glove treatment,"

according to a veteran federal official, who added that the undocumented immigrants get

priority boarding ahead of all other passengers, including law enforcement personnel.

"It is shameful and dangerous," said a seasoned Homeland Security agent with direct

knowledge of the secret operations.

Labor personnel from front-line Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agencies have complained

about the cost and security risk of flying illegal alien minors to any destination of

their choosing within the U.S., according to a longtime Immigration and Customs Enforcement

(ICE) official present at the meetings.

One of the closed-door meetings, late last year, included President Donald Trump and

his chief of staff, John Kelly.

It appears that the Trump administration has chosen to ignore the concerns of rank-and-file

federal agents, instead opting to quietly extend the controversial Obama-era policy

that relocates illegal immigrants to unsuspecting communities nationwide.

It is known as "Catch and Release" and frustrated DHS sources tell Judicial Watch

the Trump administration is essentially facilitating the ongoing commission of a federal immigration

crime despite its tough border security rhetoric.

In a recent newspaper article Border Patrol agents in Texas say they've been ordered

to release illegal immigrants caught entering through Mexico because there is no bed space

at detention facilities.

This has provoked a surge in illegal crossings, Border Patrol officials say, because there

is no punishment to deter the lawbreakers.

In the same news story, the head of the ICE officers' union (Chris Crane) and the National

Border Patrol Council (Brandon Judd) said detrimental old policies remain in place because

Obama managers are still running their agencies.

Crane, a veteran ICE agent, refers to the Obama holdovers as "incompetent, corrupt

and anti-enforcement."

Judd said word is getting back to Mexico and Central America that illegal border crossers

will be released if caught, resulting in a huge increase in crossings.

In a period of a few months, border crossings skyrocketed from 11,100 in a single month

to 26,000, according to figures provided in the news story.

Immigrants from Asia are also entering the U.S. through Mexico, federal officials say.

In San Diego, California agents apprehended dozens of illegal aliens from Asian countries

in the last few months, including more than 60 from India.

There was tremendous hope that Trump would finally put an end—as promised—to the

dangerous Obama policies that released scores of illegal immigrants into different parts

of the country.

Judicial Watch has reported on it extensively and in 2016 exposed a covert DHS program that

transported illegal immigrants from the Mexican border to Phoenix and released them without

proper processing.

The government classified them as Other Than Mexican (OTM) and transferred them 116 miles

north from Tucson to a Phoenix bus station where they went their separate way.

The OTMs were from Honduras, Colombia, El Salvador and Guatemala and a security company

contracted by the U.S. government drove the OTMs from the Border Patrol's Tucson Sector

where they were in custody to Phoenix.

Outraged Border Patrol agents and supervisors on the front lines said the illegal aliens

were released in droves because there was no room to keep them in detention.

"They're telling us to put them on a bus and let them go," one Arizona law enforcement

official told Judicial Watch at the time.

"Just move those bodies across the country."

A year into the Trump administration, it seems that little has changed.

Defense chiefs of South Korea, U.S. to meet on Friday - Duration: 0:48.

The defense chiefs of South Korea and the United States plus other high-level officials

will be sitting down for talks in Hawaii on Friday afternoon, local time.

Seoul's defense ministry says South Korea's defense minister Song Young-moo and U.S. Defense

Secretary James Mattis... will discuss the peaceful hosting of the PyeongChang Winter

Olympics... and the Seoul-Washington alliance.

Also likely to be covered are issues like the transfer of wartime operation control.

The ministry says Song and Mattis agreed during a phone conversation earlier this month to

meet face-to-face as often as possible.

There's been speculation that they'll be setting the schedule for joint military drills that

were postponed until after the Olympics.

Officials have confirmed that those drills will be held.

Explorer 1: First U.S. Satellite - Duration: 3:31.

(fanfare music)

[TEXT: 60th Anniversary Explorer 1]

[TEXT:The beginning of the US space program

- [Narrator] Today, a new moon is in the sky,

a 23-inch metal sphere placed in orbit by a Russian rocket.

- [Narrator] The reaction was one of astonishment

and concern, for it was now known

that a potential enemy was at least temporarily ahead

in developing means for space travel.

- [Narrator] President Eisenhower reassures the nation

that Russia's success with the first satellite

does not indicate a serious lag in American rocket research.

- [Narrator] The morning of November 8th, 1957,

at Huntsville, Alabama, a sudden meeting has been called

by General John B. Medaris, commanding general

of the Army Ballistic Missile Agency.

- I promised the secretary of the Army

that we would be ready in 90 days or less.

- [Narrator] All at once, Americans were interested

in the oncoming age of space.

And with the curiosity came a mounting swelling demand

to get a satellite into the air on the double.

But there were disappointments.

- [Narrator] Another setback for the United States,

a loss of thrust and fall back to Earth in split second.

(loud rumbling)

- [Narrator] But meanwhile, far across the country

at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory,

a sprawling 80-acre research and development complex

in Pasadena, California, scientists and engineers

were racing toward the same deadline,

90 days to put a satellite into orbit.

- The Army is requesting the Jet Propulsion Laboratory

to provide the following programs: first, the additional

high-speed propulsion systems required;

second, the orbiting missile or satellite;

and third, the necessary instrumentation

to record and transmit the scientific data

assigned to this experiment.

- This assembly, which is the actual payload

for the satellite, contains both transmitters,

the necessary circuits for the impact microphone

which will detect the collisions with meteorite particles,

and a Geiger counter to measure cosmic ray intensity.

(dramatic music)

- [Narrator] At Cape Canaveral, Florida,

the Army's Jupiter-C rocket is readied

for America's second attempt to launch a space satellite.

The hours-long countdown approaches zero,

a moment of enormous tension,

for every missile launching is still an experiment.

Any one of tens of thousands of things can go wrong,

with catastrophic results.

But all that can be done to ensure perfection has been done.

The moment is at hand, the countdown reaches zero.

(loud rumbling)

Some three minutes later, Explorer is in orbit,

broadcasting to the world its coded scientific data.

This close-up of the United State's edition of Sputnik

was made at a press conference

with leaders of the scientific teams:

Dr. Werner von Braun, Dr. James Van Allen,

and Dr. William Pickering, a three-way collaboration

between private industry,

academic science and the military.

Cosmic ray intensity, meteor impact, solar radiation,

these are the dry facts that will help carry man

ever farther into the age of space.

Why Puerto Rico is not a US state - Duration: 3:56.

I favor statehood for Puerto Rico.

The people of Puerto Rico should have

the right to determine their own political future.

When the people of

Puerto Rico make a clear decision my administration will stand by you. It may

seem that US politicians support Puerto Rico's right to decide its future and

would even welcome Porto Rico as a US state, but their words have yet to turn

into action. This might not be surprising considering that when Hurricane Maria

hit the island, 46% of Americans didn't know Puerto Ricans are American citizens.

But they are.

More Americans call Puerto Rico home than 21 US states, but being a

US citizen in Puerto Rico is not the same as being a US citizen stateside.

Puerto Rico is an American Commonwealth and one of five inhabited US territories.

The island became a US territory when Spain conceded colonial control after it

lost the Spanish-American war. The federal government gave Puerto Ricans

American citizenship, their own Legislative Assembly, and governor. Like

other American citizens Puerto Ricans can serve in the US military and are

subject to drafts. And like other American citizens Puerto Ricans also pay

most federal taxes.

But unlike other citizens who face taxation, Puerto Ricans

don't have federal representation.

The island gets to send one politician to

Congress to advocate on behalf of its residents, but they don't have a vote.

This means Puerto Ricans can't vote on issues that affect the island such as

limited funding for Medicaid or food stamps, as well as a broader economic policy.

And while Puerto Ricans on the island can vote in the presidential

primaries, they can't vote for the president.

Puerto Ricans have voted

several times on their status and referendums. Early on an ample majority

of Puerto Ricans supported a Commonwealth over statehood or independence.

You don't want to be a state and you don't want to be independent,

you just want to go on living in the middle.

In the middle, no. In the Commonwealth.

Puerto Ricans today are divided on the status of the island. The latest

referendum shows large support for statehood, but the turnout was

historically low.

But no matter what polls and votes show, referendum results

are non-binding, because Puerto Rico can't become a state without approval

from Congress and Congress has largely ignored Puerto Rico's status, but as the

island struggles to recover from Hurricane Maria the issue is becoming

harder to ignore. Puerto Rico's economy started tanking when Congress phased out

tax incentives designed to attract investment to the island.

Paired with

fiscal mismanagement, the island's debt started to grow. To reverse Puerto Rico's

financial decline, a board appointed by Congress imposed harsh austerity

measures that reduced health and education spending on the island. As

opportunities lessen, Puerto Ricans are relocating to mainland US. The population

is shrinking on the island and their political influence stateside is growing.

Once permanently living in a US state Puerto Ricans can actually impact federal

politics. Puerto Rican statehood advocates want five House Representatives and two

Senators in Congress,

while Commonwealth supporters are fighting for increased

parity without sacrificing their national identity.

But despite political

efforts, it seems that Puerto Rico will continue

to belong to the u.s. without really having much of a say.

Southern State Declares Strict Welfare Rule, Taxpayers Will Save $300M - BreakingNews24 - Duration: 32:13.

Southern State Declares Strict Welfare Rule, Taxpayers Will Save $300M

An important part of the Democratic Party's strategy is to create vast welfare programs,

get people on them, and keep them there.

And then remind them who provided the benefits when elections roll around.

This is a far cry from a safety net.

That idea was that when people fell on hard times, the government would be there to help

them get back on their feet.

But we're way past that.

Living on welfare has become a permanent lifestyle for segments of our population.

That's a tragedy that should be placed squarely at the feet of the Democrat Party.

This is changing under the leadership of President Trump.

States are being given freedom to make adjustments to the requirements to qualify for welfare.

One state just took the lead as pioneers, requiring able-bodied citizens to work in

order to qualify for welfare.

Of course, liberals are furious over this.

From Conservative Tribune:

"President Donald Trump and his administration recently sparked the fury of big government

Democrats when they announced that they were open to individual states adding work requirements

to their Medicaid systems.

"According to Politico, the announcement came by way of a policy guidance issued by

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma in response to requests

from roughly a dozen states for more 'flexibility' in implementing the program.

"'Medicaid needs to be more flexible so that states can best address the needs of

this population,' Verma said in a statement on Thursday, according to Politico.

'Our fundamental goal is to make a positive and lasting difference in the health and wellness

of our beneficiaries.'"

Image result for welfare lines

And if you are going to "make a positive and lasting difference in the health and wellness

of our beneficiaries," then you need to help them return to the workforce.

You do not create programs that make it more advantageous to stay home and watch television.

"The new policy would allow states to implement changes to Medicaid eligibility, such as requiring

able-bodied adults to work or volunteer at least 20 hours per week, if not enrolled in

school or vocational training, to remain eligible to receive benefits.

According to USA Today, Kentucky wasted little time in adopting the new policy as its own,

and on Friday became the first state in the nation to add work requirements for able-bodied

Medicaid recipients.

"I am excited by the fact that Kentucky will now lead the nation," stated Republican

Gov. Matt Bevin at a news conference, USA Today reported.

"We're ready to show America how this can and will be done."

Image result for kentucky governor

The proper scope of public-assistance programs is rightly a subject for debate.

However, there should be no debate as to whether able-bodied individuals should be self-supporting.

Creating programs that strip from them the dignity that comes from working for a living

is disgraceful.

Turning people into permanent wards of the state is worse.
