2018 fashion trends some that are good

Possibly some that are bad. I don't want to trash the fashion industry, so we're probably just gonna stick to the goods

I'm feeling the color. I'm feeling it

Feel like a bag of shmoney feeling like I'm glowing

2018 is not only the year of having your skin glow

But also having your clothing being glowy and shiny as hell so this video is gonna be all about

2018 fashion trends what we can expect what is dope out there what I love but before we get into this video

Since we were already talking about shiny clothes and like

This type of material satin and as you guys know I've been breaking obsessed with satin something about it

Just makes me feel like a bag of shmoney makes me feel like I'm popping even though this shirt

and the pants only cost like

$20 nobody has to know that and that's also a topic we're gonna be talking about how a lot of designer brands are so

overpriced when in reality

when in reality

You can find the same type of things if not better on different websites

and

That is the T of the day ladies and gentlemen something about satin and shiny clothes just speaks volumes to me it speaks

Positivity, I don't know why but if I see somebody in satin or something shiny, I'm gonna think this person is sunshine and rainbows

Something about it again is just like bougie. It's so comfortable. It looks cool it shines

It makes you shine and if your skin is glowing and this is glowing you you win 2018

I feel like 2018 is the year where the 90s come and I am totally here for it. I'm here for the TLC vibes

I'm here for everything every single little piece of the 90s needs to make it come back. We are waiting

We are waiting it has been long enough we need that fashion to come back

I don't know what these designers were thinking of these past couple of years

But all of it wasn't it wasn't mixing for me or not all of it

I did like a lot of it, but all of it just wasn't

Mixing together it wasn't pattycake for me

but what I have been in love with is anoraks now anti racks are typically super long like jacket and

I love that. I love anything that is oversized. I think it's a really dope thing to play with interacts I feel

Elongate the body and they make your body look really really good

And they come in so many different like prints and different variations of sizes and pretty sure you can get some that are too

Too long but they do have some that are like ain't go long and I love those too

And I feel like you have to have the very like

perfect

Outfit to wear it within the perfect occasion like if it's raining you can rock an anorak and really be that like bitch that is

Wearing that and doing the damn thing

but at the same time they also have

Smaller sizes for different occasions like an event or a party or a birthday, and I feel like the way you wear it is

Interchangeable too because you can wear certain Interac with something that is more

Polished and still look really really spruced up

And they also have interacts if you're going for more of a street style look like I know eggie shop has an anorak that has

Checkered print and Cambo and that one is really dope to me and I love wearing jackets where it's not all the way on your

Body, but it's kind of down

And you're like hanging it on kind of your elbows that looks really dope to me the next trend you guys has me so

Freaking excited you guys know. I'm a denim whore I'm a denim lover. I'm a denim hoarder

Everything you can think of about denim and like loving and if you put those two into a sentence the definition is

I have an

Odd obsession with denim jackets. I love collecting them. I love vintage ones

I love any denim jacket you throw my way pretty much and

2018 is really the year of really dope denim pieces and not just denim jackets

I feel like you can see bejeweled denim come more this year flamed

And I'm like more embroidered denim is definitely gonna be peaking this year and as well as denim jackets, and I'm somebody who

is in love with the whole denim on denim look I feel like it is so dope and

Something about denim jackets to me is just like a vibe. I feel like if you're wearing denim jackets

It's just like wow it just boosts up your outfit and the right I feel like you need the right denim jeans

to wear with the denim jacket

I feel like you got to have the same denim wash it can't be

Lighter or darker that might throw off the look, and I also feel like for an outfit to reach its full potential

It's full bad eNOS

You need to wear the right

Jeans, and I know forever 21 has some dope jeans ASOS has my favorite jeans in the entire world

And it won't break your bank

I know our binoculars have some really good jeans, but they are a little bit pricier and what I'm talking about affordable jeans

I'm not talking about you designer brands nobody wants to pay $300 for a pair of jeans

And that's the team okay now next I want to talk about

Transparent clothing I feel like transparencies are making a total comeback this year

And I am so here for it

I love one of my favorite transparent pieces to see is

Kind of like a mesh turtleneck with something underneath or even not honestly if that's you go for it. Happy birthday

I love that looks just as much you can wear a mesh

Turtleneck with nothing underneath if that's your thing which I love or you can wear like a tank top or something underneath which is also

So dope and you could pair again like a really dope bomber jacket or a denim jacket

and then you got to have the right type of pants and

It's a look. I'm totally here for showing a little bit of skin a lot of skin whatever your preference is

I'm so here for it. Can we just talk about fringes because fringes are just?

And happiness in a shirt or pants or a jacket or whatever I feel like if I see somebody wearing a French jacket or French

whatever

It's just gonna make my day. It just looks like they're having so much fun

They're walking around their friends are bouncing back and forth

And you just look like the life of the party to me instantly if you wear French's or if you like

French's we need to be friends because something my friend is is just so fun

It's the life of the party you look like you are just a fun person to be around and we need to share our

Positive energy like that

I feel like fringes are so classy and they're so fun to play with and

Like if you were fringes in like a dress form or something it

Immediately makes me think that you have money to blow because when do you ever hear fringes?

Not being expensive. You know what I mean. I feel like fringes are like

typically associated with more of an expensive piece like a really edgy jacket because

Fringes are usually like portrayed with like beads and crystals and stuff, and yeah

They do come with like fabric only sometimes, but that too can be a little bit expensive

So if you have like a day or event or like a family gathering

And you really really really want to stuff on everybody I would recommend that you wear

Fringes in some way shape or form because your gonna look like a bag of money

You're gonna look like you're the one that is the boss in that

Situation and everybody is just gonna have all their eyes on you because you're gonna be looking that good

Okay

so this next one is also so exciting because

2018 is for sure the year of more flash earpieces and this next one I think that is gonna be

Totally in style this year is sequence so I saw on some website where they said sequins

We're gonna be in style this year, and I got so excited

Because sequins again are so sparkly and shimmery and again if I see somebody wearing sequins

I'm just gonna think that you're so freaking dope and you're so fun

And you're wearing that because you have such a dope fun personality, and I'm gonna want to be friends with you

I think sequin is the - for so many different occasions this year because how do you go wrong with glitter?

You just look amazing there isn't that's pretty much it. There's nothing else to it you wear sequins

you look like you're sparkling and

What can somebody say this person's dress to fancy and that is never a disc okay? Honestly?

I feel like I'm so into sequins and shiny pieces

And like fringe and stuff because I love to the over dress

I never want to be in a situation where I'm underdressed so like everybody else can one-up me

And you know it's always good to dress for success which I learned in high school

Because why would you ever not want to be over dress if you're overdressed?

What's wrong with that and that is the life lesson of the day so if you're wearing sequins or fringe or?

satin you better own it because

We look amazing and like a bag of shmoney, okay, so I also saw that pastels

We're coming into style this year, and I'm somewhat here for it

And I'm somewhat not here for it from me personally

I don't think I could rock wearing a pastel color head-to-toe, but that's just me

But I feel like there's so many people out there who?

Put me to shame when it comes to pastel colors, and they rock it so well

So if that's your thing you better go for it, and you better start in your pastel colors

But for me personally I feel like for a pastel

I would have to wear it in a very very strategic way like either in like a really dope

windbreaker or an anorak or like a sweater or something

Because sweetie, I could never pull off

Head-to-toe pastel which is so sad to me. I feel like the way that designers are trying to bring back the head-to-toe

Pastel is it isn't working for me because I personally couldn't rock them, but I know there's a million of you out there who can

Murder that look you guys are amazing and you guys would do so well in pastels and like

It's just me. It's not you. It's me. Okay, so the final trend

I'm really really excited for and I'm literally jumping up and down for because they're finally getting the respect and the recognition

That they've deserved from us. I feel like the world has turned a blind eye to them

And I don't think it's fair because they're just trying to help us and it is bold colors like reds yellows oranges

They're coming back and just you wait for it

I feel like if you wear a red or a yellow

Or like an orange or something with an outfit it is such a statement

And it is such a good statement and although I do love my neutrals

I am very very much into reds and yellows currently so it's like midnight, and I'm editing this video

and I realized the camera shut off before I could finish my outro and

I think this is a good spot to end so yeah

Using 3D printing to change the fashion industry | Enterprising Australians - Duration: 3:16.

KARINA: Imagine having clothing designed just for you

that produces so little waste

that we're able to change what the entire fashion industry looks like.

That's the vision of Charne from MAAK Clothing and she's here with me today.

How did you get involved in 3D printing?

CHARNE: It was actually quite funny cause I went to a seminar and they had 3D printing things there

I instantly saw, you know, the potential of what it would have in the fashion industry

and from there we kind of just progressed

and for me to actually start making my own jewellery pieces

and you know handbags and accessories and even a 3D dress.

This dress, the dress that everyone knows me by,

it took me six months to get the design right

and then from there it took me two weeks to print.

And then I obviously had to make it as well by hand

because I wanted to reduce the waste.

From there, it went to Vancouver fashion week.

Actually the waste that was left, I made into a handbag.

It just shows you what you can create

even with the waste, that you can recycle it, and use it for something else.

Fashion is the second biggest waste industry in the world.

So, that being said, we have fast fashion coming from offshore manufacturers

and because trends are now weekly, it's not monthly

or seasoned, you know, anymore,

so you only wear that object once

and then discard of it and it goes straight to landfill.

So, yeah, it's quite a polluted industry

and I want to change that for the better.

At the moment what I'm looking into researching is bio-printing in plant cells.

It's not a physical object yet

but I did speak to the Wollongong University,

we've started to talk about it,

you know, using cells to grow a fabric

and then from there using 3D scanning

to actually have the correct size for the consumer.

Can you imagine just scanning your body,

any part of your body and

then from there putting it on the computer

and then having your own 3D printer at home

3D printing your own object in home and it'll be ready within a couple of hours

and that's kind of what I'm working towards

in the future using bio-printing technology.

KARINA: What has it been like being a fashion designer in this kind of tech industry?

CHARNE: It's quite confronting,

you know, fashion designers aren't really known to be technical minded

you know, kind of people within 3D printing or whatever.

So I actually went into another seminar where there was a lot of doctors and stuff around

and they were talking about the benefits of 3D printing within the medical industry

but I saw it as in a different aspect into fashion

having 3D printing body scanning available to us

you know, getting the perfect measurement and from there 3D printing it

and then mass producing that through 3D body scanning.

KARINA: If someone, much like you, came in and had a big idea

what would be your advice to them?

CHARNE: I would encourage them to do it, doesn't matter what anyone says

I actually had a lot of people telling me that I can't use 3D printing within fashion,

had people telling me it's not going to work

because technology is still growing of course, this technology is for any industry

You know, if you want to be creative, if you want to be technical minded

if you want to be medicine, whatever industry you're into

you can definitely use 3D printing to your advantage.
