This year, the ozone hole over Antarctica reminds us of what could have been.

In 1987, the world's nations agreed to the Montreal Protocol, banning the use of chemicals that destroy ozone.

The ozone layer began to recover.

The ozone hole reaches an annual maximum size at the end of each southern winter.

In recent years, these maximums have been getting slightly smaller.

The ozone hole fluctuates with temperature – chemical destruction of ozone is enhanced when it's colder.

This year, the South Pole region was relatively cold, so the hole grew larger than in the previous two years.

Scientists were able to compare this year's ozone layer to models of what the ozone layer might have looked like without the Montreal Protocol.

In spite of the colder temperatures, the ozone hole was still much smaller

than it would have been, evidence of ongoing scientific success.

What If Ghostface Was Real? - Duration: 4:53.

Ghostface is the masked killer from the horror franchise Scream.

Ghostface first appeared in the film in 1996.

The mask was a disguise used by local Woodsbro teens Billy Loomis and Stu Macher that allowed

them to go on a killing spree.

The mask is used to conceal the identity of two different murderers.

But seeing as how the costume is really common, and is worn by people who aren't the killer,

it's difficult to tell who's the murderer and who's simply wearing a costume.

But what if ghostface was a real killer in this day and age?

That's the question we're asking right now on life's biggest questions.

Hello and welcome to a life's biggest questions, I'm charlotte dobre.

actually want to hear about.

Ghostface is one of the most iconic masked murderers in the history of horror cinema.

The plot twist was there was actually two killers instead of one, both using the mask

to conceal their identity.

But did you know that Scream was actually inspired by a true story?

I thought it would be appropriate to tell you about since we are discussing what would

happen if Ghostface was real.

In Gainesville Florida, during august of 1990, someone was going around mutilating and murdering

women.

The first to die were Sonja Larson and Christine powell.

Roommates.

The next was Christina hoyt.

Then it was another pair of roommates, Tracy Paules ad Manny Toboada.

All the victims were killed in their apartments.

Christina Hoyt was found popped up on a bed and bent over at the waist, and whoever was

responsible sliced off her nipples and placed her severed head on a shelf.

All the victims were killed with a knife, four of them were killed at the university

of florida.

Whoever did it wanted to terrify anyone who found the bodies, the killer would place them

in sexually provocative positions.

While this was going on, a student at the u of florida, told the Associated press that

everyone slept with their knives nearby.

AT the time, there were no cell phones, no surveillance cameras, so it was that much

harder to find the killer.

Screenwriter Kevin Williamson turned on the television when he was housesitting and he

came across a special on the Gainesville murders.

It scared him so much that he started fantasizing about a knife wielding killer that was waiting

for him outside the house he was watching.

The Gainesville mutilations eventually inspired Williamson to write scream, which was a huge

success at the box office.

The original film made 80 million initially and has now grossed well over 175 million.

The Gainsville slasher turned out to be a man called Danny Rolling.

He didn't wear a mask, but he was very disturbed.

Rolling confessed to raping several of his victims, and he attempted to kill his own

father in May of 1990.

In total, Rolling killed 8 people, plead guilty, and was sentenced to death by lethal injection.

He claimed his motive was to become a superstar, similar to serial killer ted budy.

So, first things first if ghostface was real, and it really was two killers, they would

have a lot harder of a time committing the murders in this day and age and not getting

caught early on.

Scream was released in 1996, the gainsville murders took place in 1990, this was way before

the technological society we live in today.

If there was any word about a killer on the loose, it would be all over social media.

There would be trending hashtags and widespread panic.

Remember how the ghostface character would call landlines?

Well definitely not in 2018.

Pretty much everyone has cellphones now.

And What about caller ID and voicemails?

Victims didn't have to answer the phone.

And by the way, have you ever noticed how long drew Barrymore talks on the phone with

the killer?

Dude.

Hang up and call the cops.

Yeah there's no way that would happen in real life.

Many households are also equipped with alarm systems and panic buttons.

You hit one of those buttons if you're even a little worried, and the authorities are

at your house within a couple of minutes.

And these days, the ghostface costume is not as common as it was in the 90s.

Yes it is one of the most popular costumes of all time, but its somewhat dated in this

day and age.

If there really was a masked killer running around wearing a ghostface mask, there wouldn't

be as many people wearing the costume, and the killer would be far easier to catch.

There are surveillance cameras everywhere, especially when it comes to university campuses,

where the killer who inspired the Scream movie targeted most of his victims.

School shootings have resulted in campuses becoming a lot better about security.

Whenever there's a security risk, people aren't running around attending parties

like they are in the film scream.

Campuses are on lockdown, students barricade themselves into classrooms and dorm rooms,

and campuses are even evacuated if there are potential threats.

And lets not forget that ghostface wielded a knife.

Many american's own guns in their households.

Eventually the protagonists in the film scream eventually used a gun, but that happened at

the end of the movie.

The first thing most people would do if there really were a killer on the loose is get a

gun and keep it on them at all times.

Sure, a couple of guys running around in a mask might be able to kill a couple of victims,

but a massacre wouldn't happen to the extent that it happened in Scream.

Well there you have it, these are just a few examples of what would happen if Ghostface

was real.

Did we miss anything?

Let us know in those comments.

What is it like to travel in PAKISTAN? - Duration: 3:40.

- Hey, everyone, it's Mark Wiens, and I just wrapped up

a 16 day food and travel trip, but more than a trip,

it was an experience and a journey through Pakistan.

We began our journey in Lahore,

which is an amazing city of history and food,

before continuing on to Gujranwala, Chakwal,

Islamabod, Peshawar, and then after Peshawar,

we continued to the North.

The northern mountainous region of Gilgit-Baltistan,

which was incredibly beautiful, and from there

we continued on to Karachi.

There are three main ideas or concepts that really

stood out to me during my trip to Pakistan.

Number one, is the welcome and the hospitality of people,

and we were filming food video, so we were going

from restaurant to restaurant

and street food stall to street food stall,

but there was not one day that went by

during this trip to Pakistan, where we tried to pay

for the food, and one of the vendors would not

accept our payment.

They said it would dishonor them

if we paid them money for the food,

and so that was so heart-warming,

and every single day people would come up.

They would want to shake our hands,

they want to take a photo.

They would just want to welcome us to Pakistan

and say thank you for being here,

for traveling to Pakistan.

Number two is the food.

And of course we traveled to Pakistan for the food.

The food was unbelievable, from karachis to kabobs

to niharis to piyas and all the street food in between.

You'll find food everywhere and it's so rich,

it's so flavorful.

Food was incredible.

Finally, number three is the unbelievable landscapes

and the scenery of Pakistan.

Especially when you travel around

the Gilgit-Baltistan region.

The mountainous regions, the Karakoram Mountains

and the Himalayas.

We traveled all the way up to the Khunjerab Pass,

which is at 16,000 feet,

all the way down to Karachi at sea level.

And in between, you'll find deserts,

you'll find mountain valleys.

It's some of the most rugged, jagged mountain scenery

and glaciers I've ever seen in my life,

and I was amazed by the scenery of Pakistan.

I want to say a massive thank you to Ali

from Pakistan Travel Mart.

He organized our trip, he helped with everything.

We traveled with him we ate with him.

He's so much fun to hang out with

and without Ali, it wouldn't have been possible.

So, huge thank you to Ali

for making this entire trip happen.

And finally, I want to mention that Pakistan

hasn't always received the most positive impression,

and it has faced many struggles and conflicts,

but recently and then in the past few years,

Pakistan has made huge, major improvements

in safety and security.

And for what it's worth, I would mention

that on my 16 day trip,

and we traveled pretty extensively through

many regions of Pakistan, that not even on one occasion,

even in the major cities, even the remote destinations,

did I feel threatened or in danger.

And actually, it was the total opposite.

People just walking along the streets, random people,

they wanted to shake our hands. They wanted to say welcome.

They wanted to greet us.

They wanted to say thank you for visiting Pakistan.

So, I owe it to the people of Pakistan.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I had to visit.

It was privilege, and it was one of the most memorable,

one of the most unforgettable trips

that I've ever had in my life.

And one more thing. My new favorite pair of footwear.

Peshawari Chappals, with the thick soles.

(laughing) Okay, that's all. Thank you so much!

Pakistan, it was the trip of a lifetime.

- [Man] Hey, how are you? Nice to meet you!

- How are you? I was out walking earlier

in the morning, and I was thinking,

how can I welcome you to Pakistan?

- [Man] Thank you very much!

(lively music)

Sarah Just Revealed What Pittsburgh Widow Secretly Told Trump When Nobody Was Around - Duration: 1:42.

President Trump has done more for the Jews than any other U.S. President.

To blame him for this shooting is appalling.

From The Daily Caller:

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders revealed Wednesday morning that a

widow of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting told President Donald Trump during a Tuesday

visit that she wanted him to know he was welcome.

Trump visited the site of the synagogue massacre Tuesday where assailant Robert Bowers gunned

down 11 worshipers Saturday during a Jewish service.

Sanders was asked if she could reveal the details of Trump's conversation with the

widow, whom he spent nearly an hour conversing with Tuesday evening.

The widow survives her husband Richard Gottfried who perished in the Pittsburgh shooting.

"She said that she wanted to be there in order to show him that people wanted him there.

He spent a good bit of time with her and said he was very humbled and very saddened by the

experience that he had yesterday in Pittsburgh," she replied.

Sanders told reporters Tuesday evening:

In the synagogue, the president met with Rabbi Myers.

They lit the Yahrzeit candles, eleven, one for each of the individuals.

The rabbi walked through the history of the church (temple) and walked the president and

the first lady through a lot of the detail of what happened on the day.

The rabbi talked a lot about the bravery of the law enforcement.

The president was incredibly impressed by the rabbi, an absolutely incredible man.

Over A Dozen CIA Agents May Have Died After Hillary Was Caught Red-Handed - Duration: 5:55.

The One America News Network (OAN) is reporting a "bombshell development": "Highly classified

emails" former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had been impermissibly keeping on

a private, non-authorized and non-secure server were apparently read "in real time" by

a Chinese company and may be responsible for the deaths of "over a dozen" and perhaps

"up to twenty … CIA agents working in China."

The actual "massive intelligence leak" occurred between 2010 and 2012 and was uncovered

by U.S. officials in 2015 – who seemingly went on to do not much about it.

OAN claims one of the individuals apprised of the breach was erstwhile Chief of the FBI's

Counterespionage Section and notorious anti-Trump figure Peter Strzok; who seems to have ignored

the warning.

The gruesome charge is that Hillary's "carelessness" led to the capture of the CIA operators who

were then "tortured or murdered".

The network specifies "investigators aren't positive whether a spy in the agency was responsible

or if the information was obtained from Clinton's emails."

What is known, however, about the former First Lady's lapse?

"The FBI concluded in 2016 that Hillary Clinton did send and receive classified emails

on her personal server, putting the information in jeopardy.

It also concluded that emails were definitely hacked and viewed by foreign agents."

Fox News' Tucker Carlson seconds that accusation, noting the Daily Caller News Foundation declares

HRC guilty of this reckless and startling violation.

"That happened to Hillary Clinton.

They say a Chinese company did it, and may have had access to her emails during her tenure

as Secretary of State."

The commentator and TV talk host adds, "The FBI is denying that, sort of, but the story

is still fluid and confusing and for some reason a lot of people don't seem that interested

in finding out what actually happened."

On Fox News' Tucker Carlson program, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton confirmed the government

has been evincing an odd, evasive dismissiveness in answering questions about the Hillary/email

affair.

This, he emphasizes, despite "substantial evidence" that the one-time Democratic Presidential

candidate's sloppiness facilitated the compromise of her emails by snooping foreign parties.

And that last bit is one of the most troubling aspects of this entire controversy, isn't

it: why the shoulder-shrugging from those who are supposed to prevent these kinds of

things from happening?

Why the insouciance regarding what is arguably a major act of malfeasance on the part of

Hillary Clinton?

We're not quibbling over a fixed traffic ticket here, after all, but a potentially

catastrophic lapse – perhaps an actual catastrophic lapse if American agents were imprisoned and

murdered because of it – by a former, major government player.

One whose surname happens to be Clinton.

Why are D.C. sleuths and investigative journalists not pulling out all stops to get to the squalid

bottom of this?

Why is this not bannered from every newspaper and radio or television news broadcast?

Why is Hillary not being held criminally accountable for what was, best case scenario, a brazen

violation of American national security protocols?

The explanation is in that "Clinton" factor, I suspect.

With that surname?

She – and her Democrat kahuna of a hubby — get away with stuff all the time.

They have been for decades.

(Need I remind you?

Whitewater, Filegate, Travelgate, Pardongate, Cattle Futures, Jennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky,

Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Wiley, Impeachment, Benghazi, etc., etc.)

Somehow I suspect if it were quondam GOP heavy-hitters like Colin Powell, Dan Quayle or – gasp!

— Dick Cheney who'd foolhardily laid bare troves of government cyber-documents for all

the world to sneak a peek at, the situation would not be greeted with the same breezy

vibe.

The late talk-radio giant Bob Grant observed years ago that there appeared to be almost

a kind of "satanic shield" surrounding this infamous couple.

No matter the slippery situations in which they find themselves they manage to wriggle

free and move on.

Mr. and Mrs. "Slick Willy".

True, it's possible this simmering scandal played a partial role in costing Hillary her

Oval Office contest against Donald Trump, but you'll notice she's still gadding

about, expatiating on the current scene, imbibing the life of a pampered elite.

Back in 2015, being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, she laughed off the then-fresh

email contretemps, bantering she was offended people found her emails 'boring".

She even showed up on a sit-com the other evening joking about it.

""Emails … I do have some experience with emails," she jested on episode one

of CBS's revival of Murphy Brown.

Hillary the Hilarious.

She's a scream.

You're killin' me, Hillary.

I wonder if those poor CIA hands screamed at any point before Xin Jinping's brutes

killed them?

Obviously, someone needs to unpack the details and facts of this outrage.

If Hillary's dizzying computer incautiousness contributed to the execution of these intelligence

servants, there needs to be severe consequences for her.

If the leak issued from somewhere else, that needs to disclosed as well – but even so,

her disregard for her duty as Secretary of State, spurning crucial security procedures

for whatever reasons, can't be waved off.

Even if she is a Clinton.

Jamal Khashoggi murder: Claims his body was dissolved in acid - Duration: 6:06.

The murder of the royal insider-turned-critic has provoked widespread outrage and fuelled an international debate about arms deliveries to Saudi Arabia

Turkey's chief prosecutor on Wednesday confirmed for the first time that Khashoggi was strangled as soon as he entered the consulate on October 2 as part of a planned hit, and his body was then dismembered and destroyed

"We now see that it wasn't just cut up, they got rid of the body by dissolving it," Yasin Aktay, an official in Turkey's ruling party, told the Hurriyet newspaper on Friday

The claim echoed what a Turkish official had earlier told the Washington Post — for which Khashoggi was a contributor — that authorities are investigating a theory the body was destroyed in acid

"According to the latest information we have, the reason they cut up the body is it was easier to dissolve it," said Mr Aktay, an adviser to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who was close to Khashoggi

"They aimed to ensure no sign of the body was left." 'BRUTAL, BARBARIC AND RUTHLESS' The Turkish official quoted by the Washington Post said that "biological evidence" found in the consulate's garden indicated the body was likely disposed of near where Khashoggi was killed

Saudi authorities have denied Turkish police permission to search a well in the consulate's garden, but did allow them to take water samples for analysis, according to local media reports

US State Department spokesman Robert Palladino on Thursday called for Khashoggi's remains to be located and returned to his family for burial as soon as possible

Khashoggi's fiancee Hatice Cengiz, who waited outside the consulate as the journalist entered to obtain documents for their upcoming marriage, said what was done to his body was "brutal, barbaric and ruthless"

"It is now up to the international community to bring the perpetrators to justice

Of all nations, the United States should be leading the way," Ms Cengiz said in opinion article published in the Washington Post, The Guardian and other media outlets on Friday

"The Trump administration has taken a position that is devoid of moral foundation," she wrote, adding that "there will be no cover-up"

The murder has placed strain on the decades-old alliance between the United States and Saudi Arabia and tarnished the image of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the ultraconservative kingdom's de facto ruler

SANCTIONS 'WEEKS AWAY' US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has indicated that sanctions would soon be imposed on the individuals responsible

"It'll take us probably a handful more weeks before we have enough evidence to actually put those sanctions in place, but I think we'll be able to get there," he said on Thursday, adding that President Donald Trump had vowed accountability for all involved in the "heinous crime"

Mr Trump has called the affair "one of the worst cover-ups in history", but warned halting a Saudi arms deal would harm US jobs

Germany and Switzerland have vowed to halt arms sales to Saudi Arabia until the case is clarified

After initially insisting Khashoggi left the consulate unharmed, then saying he died in a brawl during an interview gone wrong, the Saudi regime has admitted he was killed by a "rogue operation" and arrested 18 people

Mr Erdogan has called for the 18 suspects — including the alleged 15-man hit team who travelled to Istanbul and left the same day — to be extradited for trial in Turkey

Prince Mohammad bin Salman, who has positioned himself as a Saudi reformer, has denounced the murder as "repulsive" and strongly denied any involvement

In her article, Ms Cengiz noted that the one-month anniversary of Khashoggi's death fell on the UN's International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists

"We must all send a clear message that authoritarian regimes cannot kill journalists ever again," she said

Sarah Jessica Parker Doesn't Really Know What Hocus Pocus Is About - 247 news - Duration: 3:19.

If you want to know what Hocus Pocus is about, don't ask its star Sarah Jessica Parker

Even though the actress is one-third of the Sanderson sisters — the iconic trio of witches that haunt the town of Salem on Halloween — she doesn't actually remember much about the family classic

"I don't have a lot of memories. I remember the filming of it, I just I don't remember what the movie is about as much," she told Stephen Colbert on the Late Show Wednesday

"Three witches, I've been told that. And apparently I'm not very bright, my character's not very bright

But I fly and sing, and I think I like to kill children, I don't know."  Parker shot the film over two decades ago, and long before she ever donned her first pair of heels as Carrie Bradshaw

The movie celebrated its 25th anniversary in July, and the only thing Parker really remembers is shooting the flying scenes

"But I liked making the movie and I loved flying," she says. "It was old fashion wires and harnesses

I loved it. It was marvelous. I realized I could fit an entire New York Times up the back of the corset, and I found that the harness was comfortable, so I would just sit up there and read the Times while people took their breaks or changed the camera or sometimes went to lunch

"  Parker also reminisced on the filming of the movie for Freeform's Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash earlier this month, where she admitted she thought the movie was a little dark for being made by Disney

"I guess what I remember most is how awful we were as characters," she said. "I was surprised that the goal was to get a child and basically destroy them, but because it was done in a really heightened, ridiculous way, it was a lot of fun

"  She also marveled at the life the movie has gone on to have 25 years later, with marathons showing it on Halloween and hundreds of fans dressing up as the characters every year

"I don't think any of us who were making it at the time thought Hocus Pocus would have such a long life," Parker mused

"People tell me all the time they grew up watching it, and that they still watch it

I think it's wonderful."

What Man City fans were all saying about Gabriel Jesus after 2-0 win v Fulham - Duration: 2:56.

Manchester City made ten changes for Thursday night's comfortable 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over struggling Fulham

Pep Guardiola's second-string XI breezed past the Cottagers thanks to a brace from 19-year-old Brahim Diaz

The young midfielder was superb but Guardiola admitted that Diaz will struggle to break into the first team this season

"My opinion is not changed because of two goals or because he was not selected in any Premier League games," said the Spanish coach after the 2-0 win

"The opinion is so high."But in the top teams like here, to compete with Leroy (Sane), Raz (Sterling), Bernardo (Silva), Sergio (Aguero), Gabriel (Jesus), it is not easy to find space

" Gabriel Jesus started in place of Sergio Aguero, who was rested ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Southampton

The Brazilian striker has only managed two goals in 14 appearances in all competitions

Jesus took eight shots against Fulham but couldn't quite find the back of the net, despite causing the opposition defence plenty of problems

Man City fans on social media think Jesus just needs one goal and then he won't stop scoring

One goal could change everything Jesus looked sharp in the Carabao Cup but will likely return to the bench for Sunday's league fixture

"There are no words to explain how tough it is," said Guardiola, referring his selection dilemmas

"I explained it to them. They make my job so easy on one side but at the same time it's so difficult

"Fabian Delph doesn't play, Danilo is so clever.Gabriel Jesus fought for every ball

I said some names but I could say 11."There are a lot of competitions and winter is coming, which is so complicated

Everybody is going to play. They can be upset with me, no problem when they react like that on the field

Jesus, 21, is likely to get more first team opportunities during the busy winter period

Firmly behind Aguero in the pecking order, Jesus will be desperate to rediscover his goalscoring form as soon as possible
