Hi guys! Welcome back. So a couple of weeks ago, we had a fall trends video
where we showed you all the new and latest different trends that were coming
out for the season. And we thought that it would actually be a good idea to kind of
break down in particular the leopard-print fall trend. Yes and this is
really any animal print you want but I think that we both tend to gravitate
toward the leopard print so we always refer to it as leopard print but that
could be cheetah, giraffe, zebra, whatever you like. So we looked for some
different ways to incorporate this into some outfits and we actually had some
comments after our last video that people really wanted to see like
different ways to wear this because a lot of people kind of get stuck with
just wearing it with the neutrals. So we wanted to kind of take you out of that
and show you some unique ways that you can pair your leopard print or whatever
animal print. Exactly some different color combinations maybe that you guys
haven't thought of before so stay tuned. See what we come up with.
So this first outfit I put together it's actually using a dress I've had in my
closet for several years but really what I wanted to focus on was different color
pairings that look great with leopard print. So green is an awesome color like
a nice vibrant emerald green is a great way to wear a pop of leopard. And I
used a green dress but you definitely don't have to use a dress, this could be
like a green Portofino blouse, it could be a green t-shirt, it could be a green
short, green skirt, green pants. The most important part is that it really looks
the best with that like bright emerald green shade it just really popped.
So in this first outfit I put together
Green mini-dress, I also put some Brown blocked heels that are studded that we
also have links for below, and a leopard clutch. And this is an old leopard clutch
that I have that I really enjoy but there's tons of them out there so we
linked a few that are very similar and I just think Green is just a really great
fun color to put with leopards. Exactly and if you don't have you know that like
you said you can wear it either with a green Portofino and maybe some ripped
jeans. You know it's really looking at different color combinations with the
leopard print that you just haven't thought of before. And I really love this
especially, I don't know if you can tell, but Kelli has some hazel eyes
that really helps to like bring out the color in your eyes. It's one of my
colors but I definitely like. Now the outfit you're wearing is my second
favorite color so I can't wait to see this one because I love the shade.
So I had on a fuchsia portofino shirt and then some ripped denim, along with
these really super cute little loafers that I actually picked up from
Nordstrom. It was in our Nordstrom haul. I ended up getting these. So I've
actually worn this quite a bit and one of the things that I really
you know found that works for us is we tend to only incorporate leopard
print in one item we're wearing. You know I've seen other people
and you know it's okay. Yeah it's all about taste. Right but
we prefer just to pick one item. So whether it's a shoe or a belt or a bag,
you don't really want too many items,
multiple items, kind of competing for the same thing. I think it helps to make a
better statement just to kind of pick one leopard print item to incorporate
into the outfit that you're wearing for the day.
Definitely I like it to be like that one focus you know it's just some people
like to do the matchy thing, I just I don't know, I feel like this looks more
modern and younger. And you know we're all about looking younger. I think it
almost like takes away when you wear too many multiple items. We did
our summer brights and we had two to three of those summer bright items that
we were incorporating but particularly for this trend. Right for any kind of
bold print. One is really the way to go. So the next outfit that I
picked was something that I really hadn't done before but I kind of liked
the way that it turned out. Pairing stripes with a pop of leopard. So
that can be a little scary. Sounds a little crazy but this black and white
striped long-sleeved t-shirt from Old Navy that I picked up. I just really
liked that little bit of stripes with the leopard on the bottom. I broke it up
by throwing on the denim jacket because for me horizontal stripes for sure
I'm not super comfortable with that. It looked super cute. But I liked it with a
denim jacket. I tied it a little bit which is a fun little trick I've been
using a lot lately you know. I'm really partial to the front tuck but sometimes
to change it up I like to just like give it a little knot on the side throw the
jacket on put this with my old trusty white denim and kept the leopard print
to the ballerina flats on the bottom which I also picked up at Old Navy. So
the jacket, the shirt, and the ballerina flats all from Old Navy but I really
like the way that it turned out, I can definitely see myself like wearing this
to a school event or a lunch or out shopping. Yeah and I think that that
front tie that you were doing I think that that's the perfect way, if
you're not going to do a front tuck, is particularly when you have with a
cardigan or a jacket or blazer something over you. And you want to still help
create some definition and a little bit of shape to your body without having it
be a little too... like I wouldn't do it if I didn't have a blazer on. I
wouldn't do it you know. It kind of depends on the shirt. I feel like sometimes it
can tug a little. It depends on the fabric. It's not as forgiving. Yeah that one was definitely like a
stretchier fabric so for me without the jacket I wouldn't do it but I have done
it with like sometimes you know like a t-shirt kind of loose and you want to do
something with it and I feel like that's a great way to kind of tie it. But
anyways stripes and leopard who knew but I like it you know. I think you have to
be careful with it. It has to be you know maybe like a black and white stripe
or a navy and white stripe. I wouldn't go for a crazy colorful stipe exactly
but I think that if you do just a little bit it can definitely work. I think
also if you're paying attention to the width of the stripe.
You also don't want to have something where the stripes on the shirt
are really really wide you know something a little bit slimmer, smaller
stripes I think are also a lot more flattering.
And for my next outfit I
paired a white portofino shirt that I picked up from Express with my red pants
that I got from Old Navy from actually are our last haul a few
weeks ago. And I paired it with a leopard print belt. What you're actually wearing
right now. Yeah that it was a find. I love that belt. Express, right? Express, yes.
I love that belt. And then I also bought some black high heels with it but it's
really an easy switch, you could put it with some black little ballet flats,
with a little pointy shoe, in order to make it a little bit more casual. You
know for every day probably like how we would usually wear it.
Although I loved it like this! Like I definitely feel like this would be an
awesome date night look or like something dressier but
you know probably have our ballerina flats on. Yeah but you know I usually - I would
probably pair it with a black shirt. Oh that might be pretty. Yeah but I like
the white you know just in to change it. I really like this outfit a lot.
Really pretty and I love the belt. It was just such a great find. So super cute.
So for my next outfit I was dying outside because here in Florida it's like 95
degrees but for you guys. I had on this yellow sweater that I actually got during the Nordstrom
anniversary sale. It's from there BP brand. Super cute. I'm kind of like
embracing yellow lately which I did not wear yellow for decades. I never honestly
would have thought of the two colors going together but I really love them.
Yes and it's funny because like I've definitely been into yellow and I don't
know I saw it somewhere with the leopard and I thought ooohhh I really like that
combination. So it's another way to use leopard and doesn't have to be in a
sweater like I did. It could be in a silky Portofino, it could be yellow
shorts with the white top and a leopard belt you know there's lots of ways. So we
really wanted you guys to like take away from this video something that you
learned that you don't necessarily have to have the same pieces we're wearing
but just ideas for how to use your animal print. And yellow's a great way so
I used the yellow sweater, my leopard print is in my scarf but I could easily
switch that out and put it in my shoe, in my bag, and a belt. So I use it in this
scarf which is also from Nordstrom's BP brand that I picked up during the
anniversary sale but I believe it's still like $20. It's a great piece to have for
fall and I paired it with these. Which I have been getting a ridiculous
amount of use out of from Old Navy. They're the faux mule suede booties and
um yeah I really like the way that it turned out. definitely you know is
another great way to use your leopard prints putting some yellow with it.
Yeah really pretty. I really like that outfit.
And of course we couldn't end
this video without touching upon the classics, our neutrals, the browns, the
blacks, the whites. So in this next outfit I paired it with a white camisole, a
nice brown chunky sweater. Yeah your turn to suffer. I'm like sweating. My eye makeup had dripped all
the way down to my lip liner. And then I paired it with some black jeans. And the
same thing, the black faux mules that we also picked up from Old Navy.
It's important to you know be able to venture out into different
colors but you know obviously don't forget the classics and my leopard print
came obviously in our tote bag. Which is you know our favorite kind of bag that
Kelli has. We picked that up at our Nordstrom Haul video though. That's
another one you know a lot of use out of.
Yeah I really liked it with these neutrals but like it was still
a little bit different because I loved the black and the brown together was
actually one of the fall trends that was listed in our video. So it was really
cool to see that like all paired together. You can also do it with the denim you
have on now. So many options which is why I have a closet
full of leopard. Exactly so next time when you guys are you know looking to
incorporate leopard print don't think that you know you have to kind of stay
within a certain box, really start to try to experiment with some different
colors and patterns and really kind of be daring and see what colors look best
on you and then trying to incorporate it with the leopard prints.
Yeah I think we've covered a lot of good ones, we've got fuchsia, red. I'm sure we'll come up with more.
