CLOSED CAPTION BY YOUTUBE! hey what's going on what come on oh this is all coming to you live from my empire

pro studios on this episode I want to talk to you about what is the best flip

in books in the marketplace I want to want you ok I'm gonna be biased number

one even by us number two I'm gonna put in a lot of effort to review a few of

them for you one thing I want you to take notes here as I recommend some of

this books for you I am sticking with the basics and the fundamentals there's

a lot of things that change with technology in the house flipping game

obviously but the sad truth and probably the real truth ok

I said sad truth because a lot of people falling for the mute technology new

thing it's true technology does change a lot but the truth of the matter is

there's a lot of fundamentals and bases that hasn't changed it all comes down to

buy and sell houses anything I can make your life easier it typically has to do

with how you attract people marketing in itself which is the really cool thing

that you do right and probably how you market properties ok as far as the real

fundamentals behind it the legalities of it there's not much that really change

over time as far as you come into the marketplace and making sure you're

filling a gap that no one else is occupying nothing has changed the only

thing that changes that the gap can change right the gap that that's empty

that's vacant where you can occupy and provide services to the personnel and

the business starting from buyers sellers gurus that are already

established in the business or other colleagues in the business really the

key thing to making money is serving right you need to find it with the hot

value if you're not hiding value there's no money that's gonna show up so

everything I'm gonna recommend to you here it's gonna be it's gonna be

surrounding this basic fundamental things that I just shared with you and I

want you to pay attention to that number one book number one book again I told

you I warned you I was only biased is to get the Empire lifestyle secrets because

at the end of the day this is about marketing

okay this is at the end of the day about marketing if you don't know how to

attract people to the game you are going to lose doesn't matter how many houses

are on the market doesn't matter how many houses you're able to pick up and

put on the contract if there is nobody that's going to be occupying the

position of a buyer then there's no money because money only comes from one

place and that's from the buyers okay and how do you use internet marketing in

today's time and age to attract all the buyers you need need right anytime you

want that's something I cover extensively in Empire lifestyle secrets

and you can download it absolutely for free at my Empire Broadcom now with that

out of the way I want to go into Amazon okay the Amazon is your friend

let's not front let's not beat around the bush about this okay all the books

you're gonna need okay when it comes to the game is on Amazon that's where they

are and they're not in I mean they could still be in in borders

I don't know borders still exist or maybe what's in them of the other

bookstore right I'm not sure but the bottom line here is this any book all

the books you need ink in the Kindle form I can do audiobooks anything you

need is already available on amazon.com and that's where I'm gonna point you to

to go search for some of this book okay so well I want to review a few of them

okay just based off of my feel okay when I went through my training it wasn't

exactly about a book it was about the full-blown 3000 the last program that I

went through okay but the difference between these books and that training is

that you're talking to a real human being the book is something you take

home you can read on your pillow you can before you sleep you can read by your

home office desk you can relax on your couch and just read and and that's why

you're paying cheap because there's nobody's personal time involved outside

of what they created which is the book right so what I noticed that there's a

ton of books here some of them would reviews what I want you to note

something about this review some of these reviews are cool

okay they are cooked that means these are people that have followers probably

for good reasons they probably know what they're talking about and then they send

people to go give them reviews okay so I wanna just go by just reviews I would

well take my recommendation number one okay the first one I want to recommend

to you my chef is here I think it would be I'm gonna come back here okay I think

it to be on the real estate investing okay that's the first one I want to

recommend to you and it's by a guy called Gary Keller okay Gary Keller okay

so he did the same version he did a rout of version of this book okay it's called

the millionaire real estate investor so even if you're a wholesaler or you just

want to flip houses this is a great book to pick up if you

watched a video that I did last time it's a video that I did about this guy

Kevin who literally to all of the real estate wholesaling business under the

boss he has done another video since then where he corrected himself okay

just so you know but this is how you know that the real realtors in the game

the big-time rotors they don't kick against real real estate wholesalers or

investors they make friends with anybody that can bring buyers that can bring

business forget buyers that can bring business to the table

okay and Gary Keller is one of such people is the founder of Keller Williams

so he did this video he has a the real estate agent version of it which I will

recommend that you pick up as well too okay this book has fundamentals in them

okay personally actually read the Drule estate agent one and it's just as good

okay so I will pick up both of them okay so those are really really good books

that I want to recommend for you from a fundamental standpoint when it comes to

understanding the real estate wholesaling game okay this is how you're

gonna know what you want to put out on the marketplace and things like that and

in addition to that this guy's not paying me anything by the way okay Gary

Keller he's not paying me anything to do this okay you

so you know in addition to that I'm clicking over into his page right now I

would pick up this book the one this one right here okay the one and that's got a

killer right there I pick up the one thing that's what it's called the one

thing okay if you're an entrepreneur of any type this is a is a must-read okay

it's the most read book okay so I definitely pick that up

all right so now let's go back to some of the other ones that are on there

flipping houses exactly on the flipping houses and then I'm gonna give you what

my recommendations are any real estate book by Robert Kiyosaki also are good

okay they are also good let me see here yeah so before I come back here let me

let me do this let's do Robert Kiyosaki and I'm going to tell you which one you

want to grab okay all right so real estate of course you want to understand

cash for Cal grounds you want to understand guide to investing right you

want that if you haven't gotten that yet but let's see here

I think that's a right so I mean this is the real book of real estate right there

okay Robert Kawasaki and the ABC of real estate investing okay

that's another one okay is it's not by Kawasaki okay I think is his top top

trainer or top instructor on real estate but it was pretty much released on that

they wish they had emblem so it's a good book to also pick up pick up as well too

alright so let's go back here we're at the first page which is the flipping

books okay all of these books I would probably flipping houses for dummies

okay again not because you're gonna be flipping houses for tools you need to

understand the angle that every professional in the game are coming from

okay when the rooster wants to go on a YouTube video and bash all of real

estate wholesaling you want to be able to understand what is going on through

his mind right so so if you want to do that that's why I recommend that the

millionaire real estate agent right you understand what's going through the mind

of said you know what they're ticking

overboard you know what they're taking way to religiously and know where the

balance is right you understand the game okay and that's what anyway that's fun

to win any game that's what they do you try to understand the game in and out

okay all right so the dummies is always a good book okay the other one here is a

realistic gone bad this is by few pussy a ski this guy is booty can you probably

get this book for free on his website I think it's called a freedom real estate

something like that freedom real estate calm or freedom mentor sorry freedom

mentor calm okay something like that just Google the freedom mentor real

estate sit to call it to come right up is the guy that has the biggest real

estate investing YouTube channel okay I've read this book it's a really

good detailed book that goes into not just the flipping but also the whole

selling part of it and things like that alright so that's that's a good one

trying to see if there's any of the dummies pick them up if you have any of

the flipping houses for dummies pick them up you know again you want to have

a library here okay that you can and some of this book you're not gonna read

just for one time okay I don't recommend reading any type of book one time like

my book the best way to benefit out of my book is to read it 10 to 15 times

Empire lifestyle secret you can get it for free my Empire procom you really 10

to 15 times if you read it any short of that you're risking making a hell of

mistakes that most people are here are making most people are making this

mistake spending tons of thousands of dollars on direct mailing that's not

generating any results that driving for dollars they are essentially wasting

money marketing to vacant properties and eventually the most of them end up

quitting right probate views and things like that there are better ways to do

this business okay and most people are doing those things and you're gonna have

struggle because the competition is extremely too high so if the way to rise

to the to the top like like the cream rises to the top right is by filling the

gap when most people are not occupying right now and I'm gonna give you a quick

secret and that's the part where you build a buyer's list okay if you get

good at building a bias list using the internet you will win this game

the log and that's what I cover extensively in my book which is Empire

lifestyle secret you can find it for free at my Empire phu kham alright so

real estate investing gone bad it's a good one I think he has another book

there are two of his books let's see let's click into his page right here ok

yeah this is the one right here that's the one I read ok how to be a real

estate investor ok that's the one you want to pick up

and read and st that's the guy right there

he has good content on YouTube he creates good quality content on YouTube

and his book is fantastic as water ok so let's scroll down to the bottom here

you can see there's a lot of books on the market ok there's one more book that

I probably want to recommend here but let's just browse through here I

probably be able to tell you in a second here see so the ton of books on flipping

houses by the way majority of these books are designed to generate leads ok

so they may not I said the ones I've told you about our best to sell us ok

they're bestsellers which some of good reviews there too oh let's see here

alright so yeah the rest of them I wouldn't worry about them so let me

let's honor one who last a whole so let's call reverse old selling something

like that I'm not sure if it's reverse real estate wholesaling or reverse whole

7 I'm gonna Google for you in a second so it's a couple of books yeah will

selling real estate so free can do essentially is a lead generator ok so if

you get any of the skin do's you can expect that you will end up in

somebody's phone out ok just expect that so anyway this is the book that I want

to recommend for you by Kent clothier how to walk backwards to make quick cash

in real estate without money credit or experience alright so working backwards

is something I teach ok but you can pick up this book it's kindle $2.99 $8 $0.99

yeah most people are trying to walk forward and that that Lane is saturated

ok walking backwards especially with

internet marketing is the easiest way for you to build this business and to

get your feet wet when I say get your feet wet that means with money okay so

that's something that I want you to pay attention to all right so that's that's

what I have for you again the best book it's Empire lifestyle secrets because I

go into marketing which is the one single activity that will get you paid

in the business of real estate or any business for that matter okay and I use

real estate for example also when you decide to get this book it's gonna give

you instant automatic access to our seven day course Corday's it's called a

smart business empire okay essentially how do you run a smart real

estate wholesaling business okay you have access to all of that at

www.mptv.org for motivated sellers this is the best one in the market

redex my Empire pecan / red X is where you want to go okay so that's what I

have for you on this episode if you like what I've shared with you so far please

feel free to share it with the market by clicking the share and you share to your

social media everywhere click the thumbs up button for me that would be the best

thing you can do for me on this video just click the thumbs up if I said

anything here that made sense so far give me a thumbs up okay and if you have

questions contributions anything you have to say your thoughts you want to

share them I will truly appreciate that share them in the comment box below and

hopefully you've been enlightened and educated and I will see you on the next

Patricia Churchland, What is neurophilosophy? - Duration: 1:52.

Neurophilosophy is an emerging discipline that is interested in the

overlap between neuroscience on the one hand and philosophy on the other hand. It

has to do with how the grand old questions from philosophy about what is

the nature of knowledge, what is it to have a self, what is it to have

self-control; that these grand old questions that philosophers have

pondered for many many hundreds of years now

with developments in neuroscience we can see certain results in neuroscience that

help us understand - in terms of the brain itself - what is the nature of

self-control, how does memory and learning work, how do

they work. So neurophilosophy really is kind of the inevitable melding of

disciplines because of advances in neuroscience but also advances in

psychology and also in genetics; so there are a number of scientific fields that

work together to help us make real progress in understanding questions such

as what is the nature of consciousness, what is it to make decisions and to have

choices.

What If the Universe Was Shaped Like a Donut? - Duration: 7:01.

[ ♪ Intro ]

It's kind of weird thinking about the universe having a shape.

It's the universe, right?

It's … universe … shaped ...

But it does have one.

We just aren't sure what that shape is.

And some cosmologists have proposed that of all things, it might be shaped kind of like

a donut.

When we're talking about the shape of the universe, we're really talking about its topology.

The topology of an object has nothing to do with how many sides it has, or where parts

of it are relative to one another.

It only depends on the number of holes: a sphere has none, a donut has one, and so on.

A sphere and a donut are both round, but they have different topologies because there's

no way to take a sphere and stretch or smash it to make it look like a donut without, shall

we say, "tearing it a new one."

On the other hand, a lot of objects we think of as clearly being different shapes have

exactly the same topology.

A coffee mug has one hole in the handle, so topologically speaking, there's no difference

between a mug and a donut.

There are a lot of proposed topologies that the universe could possibly have, from plain

shapes with no holes to some that are much more complex.

But one of the most common ideas is what's called a 3-torus.

It's impossible for our puny human minds to visualize what that looks like from the

outside, because you'd need a fourth spatial dimension.

A line is one dimensional.

A flat plane: two.

And with the third dimension you get depth.

Usually, when we talk about the fourth dimension, we mean time.

But in this case, it's a fourth spatial dimension — the next level up from 3D.

And as beings who've lived our whole lives in 3D space, we can't really imagine what

4D would look like.

That doesn't mean you can't model a 3-torus, though!

You just have to step everything down a dimension.

You can take our universe, with its 3 spatial dimensions, and model it as a two-dimensional

flat plane — think of it like a piece of paper, except pretend it stretches to infinity

along both axes.

If you take that piece of paper and wrap it into a cylinder, it stays infinite in one

direction but becomes finite in the other, because eventually you loop around the cylinder.

If you then wrap the ends of the cylinder together, making it connect along both axes,

you have yourself a 3-dimensional version of a 3-torus.

There you go.

Donut universe.

Topology is different from geometry.

It doesn't care if or how space is curved, or about the distance or angles between different objects.

Geometry does; it knows the difference between our mug and donut, and we're actually pretty

sure we know what the geometry of the universe is.

Measurements have shown it's almost definitely flat, as opposed to positively or negatively curved.

Which, again, gets a little brain-break-y, because "flat" is not normally an adjective

we use to describe things in 3D.

But cosmologists talk about 3D space as being "flat" or "curved" because it's

the best analogy we have for what we're trying to describe, which basically boils

down to this:

If you shine two laser beams in parallel, do they stay parallel?

Or do they eventually cross or diverge?

When we say the universe is flat, we mean that the beams stay parallel — space isn't

warped in a way that would curve them toward or away from each other.

The 'donut' universe is actually a topology with a flat geometry, which our simplified

3D model can't, well, model.

But the idea is that instead of a simple plane that stretches to infinity in 3 dimensions,

it connects at multiple points.

In other words, it's finite.

But it mimics an infinite universe because light wraps all the way around the shape,

so you get the effect of standing in one of those infinity light boxes.

The 2D version of this is a classic video game where, if you move to one side of the

screen, you pop up on the opposite side with the same speed and trajectory.

In 3D space, if the universe were incredibly small, and you looked directly up, you'd

see the bottom of your own feet.

Or if you looked over your shoulder, you'd see yourself repeated in an infinitely long line.

But our universe isn't that small.

So how could we possibly tell if we're living in a 3-torus?

Basically, astronomers hunt for recurring patterns in astronomical images -- the same

cosmological structures showing up in multiple parts of the sky.

That would mean light is wrapping around the universe, and we could run models on those

patterns to determine its topology.

Or at least, we could if the true size of universe is smaller than the distance it takes

the light of everything to reach us.

Because remember, light takes time to get to us.

There could be things out there so far away that even though the light coming from them

has been traveling almost since the beginning of time, it still hasn't reached us yet.

If there is stuff beyond where the earliest light we can see originated, the light wouldn't

have the opportunity to wrap around and create any repeat images.

The universe could be a donut, and we'd never know.

That said, results as recent as 2015, courtesy of the European Space Agency's now-defunct

Planck satellite, have failed to find any evidence of a 3-torus topology.

Or any topology.

So as far as we can tell, the universe is not a donut.

But what if it were?

Well, in day-to-day life - even in certain fields of astronomy - it wouldn't matter

very much.

Just like there's a lot of physics we can still do with old-school Newtonian equations,

changing how we think about the universe's topology wouldn't require rewriting the

rules of stellar life cycles or planetary formation.

But there is one bit of cosmology a donut universe definitely threatens: inflation.

Cosmologists think the universe suddenly expanded in size when it was super duper young.

When we look at the light left over from the Big Bang — what's known as the cosmic

microwave background, or CMB — we can see evidence of that inflation.

But there's nothing in the theory that would cause inflation to produce a universe big

enough to house all the galaxies, yet small enough to see itself repeated within the observable horizon.

So knowing the universe was a donut would force astronomers to find a new explanation

for why the CMB looks the way it does.

But one of the cooler consequences of a donut universe?

Somewhere out there, some of the oodles of galaxies would actually be the Milky Way itself.

But we wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at them, because they'd appear billions

of years younger.

So you could actually wave to yourself, but you'd be very dead before you received the message.

But hey, it's the thought that counts.

What was it like to be a real priest at the Catholic-themed Met Gala - Duration: 6:05.

It's hilarious.

I don't I'm just happy to be alive

somewhere the way

we are here today to talk about the

Met gala and the theme of

the night of the exhibition

accompanying the event was

heavenly bodies fashion

and the Catholic imagination.

I'm joined by Father James Martin editor

at large at America.

And my name is Eloise Blondeau.

So my first question for

you Jim is what was it like

being a real priest among

many other people on the

red carpet.

And did people know that you were

a priest or did they assume that you were in costume.

I would say three

quarters of the people understood that I was

a priest and so hello father

and who were you. And I knew a few people

and then there were a quarter of people who had no

clue seemingly what a priest

was and said all sorts of crazy things to me

like like

Hey bro you've got the

best costume of the night.

Are you real priest.

I like your costume

but you know people don't know what to say.

They get nervous. They're trying their best.

I don't think they were not trying to be offensive.

And so you know you take these things in

stride. And Pope Francis likes to

say you try to meet people where they are

right.

And that night they were at the Met Gala.

So you meet them there.

Right and they're engaging

with the Catholic imagination.

How did you see people engaging

with the faith

or with God.

Well lots of different ways.

I mean when you walked in the

first thing you were led into

the exhibit and a lot of people were very

interested in the way the Met

and that they've did a tremendous job

in displaying the exhibit the garments

sort of next

to or juxtaposed

with the religious are

and similar just habits

but also the Sistine Chapel

Choir was there and people engage

with the holy that way

and then also you know Cardinal Dolan was there

to drive a great job

and they were engaging with him.

And then of course people engaged in their

own ways with their fashion

with what they wore.

What did you find.

What did you think was the most surprising

aspect of the event.

I think the most surprising aspect of the event

for me was that

people seemed a little

out of their element

and that I you know we were so used to

sort of seeing Catholic things in the Catholic imagination

here. And people seem not

to know some people seem not to know exactly

what the antecedents are the provenance

of some of these costumes in the exhibit

were. And they were asking me questions What's that.

What's this. That's a Mieder.

That's a cassock.

I guess it's not surprising

but I think I work so much in the

Catholic world

and the Catholic land as I like to call it that

I'm always surprised when people seem to have

no conception of

where these customs come

from. What do you say to people who

might think that the event trivialized

their faith.

Well I think it's a good question we have to distinguish between

the exhibit which was very serious

the one that the Met curator that Andrew Bolton

and his team curated

and it is tremendous

and the gala gala is a big party

essentially it's a fundraiser.

So it's for good cause

and you know whether

or not someone wears an outlandish dress I think

the church is going to survive.

I don't think that you know Rihanna wearing

a Popat is really going to destroy

the church so you know really take it

with a grain of salt

and also put things in perspective.

Right. And I think it's a

good thing to see people trying to engage

with the church and the faith even if

the outcome is not necessarily

what Catholics would expect

or would have wanted.

I think that's a good question because when you see someone wearing

a dress that seems a little outlandish you have no

idea what's going through their heart.

This might be their own way of trying to

engage you're trying to celebrate

in their own way.

So we need to take that seriously too.

So Jim what are you personally offended

by any of the outfit choices

at the event last night

at the gala.

There were some I thought were a little over the top it takes

a lot to offend me.

There was nothing that was kind of

you know disgusting

or tasteless.

I thought some of them were really ridiculous actually

and I thought some of the people wearing the dresses looked

ridiculous. Not my cup of tea

but I wasn't offended.

And once again you never know what's in someone's

heart. You never know how they're trying to

pay tribute or celebrate at all.

So what about you did you say anything offensive.

I personally was not offended.

And I think

with an event like this

and it's actually really

interesting to see how

the boundaries of the religious

and the secular don't really exist

and there are just people doing their best

to engage with this subject matter.

And for example I know that some people are uncomfortable

with Briana's outfit because she

was wearing a papal garb

with shorts underneath.

But personally I wasn't offended by that.

It was a kind of an interesting way

to admire

and part of the Catholic tradition

even though it may not have been anything

that a Catholic would have chosen to wear.

I thought it was interesting

and I think that was part of what

the Gallade did. Well it was thought

provoking and it showed us

how people perceive Catholics versus

how Catholics maybe perceive themselves.

My biggest fear last night was stepping on one of those long

train give it to Andrew Bolton

and he told me that he did that once

and you can hear this like it's fair

at least I didn't do that so I made it.

Ultimately have about three assistants

per train following these

people around.

Not once you get in.

They were sort of sort of being

swept all over the floor so I had to

be very careful.

But I was successful in not tearing

anybody's 10000 dollar gown.

So Jim thank you so much for

speaking to me today about

the gala and the exhibit

and speaking of the exhibit

and for those of you like myself

who weren't able to attend the gala

you can go

and see the exhibition at the Metropolitan

Museum and cloisters.

I highly recommend you do so

if you are interested in seeing more

of our coverage of the event

and the exhibition you can go to

our website at American magazine dot

org. Thank you so much for watching
