WWE not signing popular Mae Young Classic competitors
The WWE Universe has been waiting patiently for the WWE to announce the signing of several popular female Indy wrestlers who competed in the Mae Young Classic, with Toni Storm, Piper Niven and Candice LeRae all expected to be snapped up.
However, a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that we wont be seeing them on WWE television anytime soon. In case you didnt know.
Piper Niven made it to the Quarter Finals of the Mae Young Classic, losing to Toni Storm, with Candice LeRae also reaching the Quarter Finals, failing to defeat eventual tournament runner-up Shayna Baszler.
Toni Storm was beaten in the Semi-Finals by Mae Young Classic winner Kairi Sane. The heart of the matter. Weve already reported that popular talent Candice LeRae hasnt been offered a WWE deal but now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t wrestlinginc.
com) is reporting that two more popular female wrestlers arent likely to be signed anytime soon with Toni Storm and Piper Niven still waiting for a phone call.
It looks like WWE will not be signing Toni Storm and Piper Niven, who both worked The Mae Young Classic, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
WWE officials told both competitors that they would be in touch after the finals of the tournament but its believed that neither talent has been contacted.Whats next?.
Candice LeRae has been seen on NXT television, competing in the battle royale for the last remaining spot in the NXT TakeOver: WarGames NXT Womens Championship Fatal Fourway match.
Meanwhile, Toni Storm and Piper Niven have gone back to competing on the independent circuit.
Im going to be honest, Im really not sure what the WWE is waiting for here, especially with Toni Storm, who is only twenty-two years old and already an incredible talent.
All three women should be snapped up, and with Emma and Summer Rae being released recently theres no excuse.
