We are back to Natural Stone Outlet.
On this video, we're going to talk about
Travertine Classic cross-cut and
specifically about its main finishings.
This is a versatile stone that accepts a
lots of finishings, so we are going to
check about commonly used finishings on
interiors, also on exteriors. Let's have a look.
Up here, we have six finishings for
interior applications mostly and down
there we have the finishings for
exterior. On the interior application
finishings, what we've got is.. starting with
the brushed, so essentially you brush the stone,
keeping the natural colour of it. This
adds a bit of an anti-slippery capacity to it.
It´s good for interior flooring or even
exterior, for example. This one is the
polished finishing, we polish the stone
and it highlights be the elements of the
stone, commonly use on flooring on
interior applications. Here, we have the
honed finishing, which is a popular
finishing for interior flooring,
wall-coverings, all kinds of decoration, but
also on exterior cladding. So, we put this
one on the interior side, but you can also
use it on exterior cladding.
Down here what we have is the same finishing
as above, but with unfilled surface.
So, we don't fill the holes, we leave
them opened. So, it looks a bit the
same as the stone above, the same colour,
but with a bit more rugosity.
By not filling the holes, you add a bit more rugosity,
So, when you step on it, you are actually
stepping on the holes.
This is more anti-slippery than
this one. So this is a brushed finishing without
filling, this one is a polished
finishing without filling, as well.
Not so common,
maybe you can find these on wall-coverings,
but not on the flooring,
because the dirt would
get into the holes. Quite popular
for wall coverings, or
decoration. And this one is the honed
finishing without filling. So, you can see
the little holes here and there. A bit
like the one above, just a slightly
different selection of Travertine.
It´s a great choice for wall coverings or even
exterior cladding. So, then we're
going to check the exterior finishings.
Down here, this is the bush-hammered and
brushed finishing. So, essentially what we
do, we bush-hammer the stone, then we brush it.
So, we have quite a good anti-slippery capacity,
it also keeps a bit of the natural colour of
the stone. This one is a sandblasted and
brushed, so we sandblast the stone and
then brush it on top, and this is
what you get. Quite anti-slippery as well,
with a good natural beige colour. This one
is just tumbled. By tumbling the stone,
you kind of give it an old look, so you
keep the natural colour of the stone or
most of it, but adding this
aged-old look. Down here, we have the one
that is probably the most rough of
surfaces, which is just bush-hammered.
You bush-hammer the stone and get a
very rough surface. This is really anti
slippery but the beige becomes
a bit lighter. This one is the sandblasted.
So, by sandblasting the stone, you
take away most of the colour of the
stone. It becomes pretty white, pretty uniform as well.
And finally we have the sawn-cut, so
basically we sawn-cut the slab, the
block, this is what you get from the slab.
A bit rough, also kind of anti-slippery.
So, that´s it. You've seen probably the
most relevant finishings on the Travertine
Classic. You can find this on the
vein-cut, these were the cross-cut variations.
Thank you for watching and I'll see you
on the next video.
