We are walking from our grassroots headquarters to the old building that
used to be the home for the Community Board 10 and this is the building in our community
that we need to transform it and turn it into a community center.
This building is a beautiful building that is owned by the city. It has two floors,
a beautiful backyard that can be transformed into a garden
where we can have families from the community come and plant.
But also, we have great people in this district
who are organizing, who are looking for a place to call home
seniors, civic organizations, the food co-op,
and this is the place where our community can come, and meet, and organize
and engage each other, and motivate each other about issues that matter to this community.
I have been on the Community Board for the past twelve years.
My worst nightmare and my fear is that a building like this will be sold by the city
to developers who will take it away from us.
So we need to act fast. We need to protect and preserve the character of our community
and make sure that city-owned buildings like this
will be used for the good people of the 43rd district.
Once again thank you for joining me.
Please like and subscribe
and I will look forward to seeing you again.
Remember, we are here to put people above politics.
