Hi, everyone. I'm Noreen and welcome back to my kitchen today
We're going to show you how to make your very own homemade versions of instant oatmeal packets
I put mine in Jelly Jars, but that's because it eliminates waste
And it helps them stay a little bit fresher, and you can pop them on your shelf label them, and you're good to go
We're doing these today in classic flavors such as apples and cinnamon
raisins and spice
Maple brown sugar and a little bit non traditional flavor of a banana and peanut butter, so let's go see how these all come together
All right, we're Gonna make some homemade
Instant oatmeal packets these are great and very easy to put together and
The best part is you get to control the ingredients that go in here, and you know everything that goes in here?
so you get to
actually
Select from your favorite things and the best things that you can possibly find to put in these packets for you or your kids
What you're gonna start off with is you need ten cups of rolled oats now these are whole rolled oats old-fashioned oats?
And I buy mine in bulk I buy them in a ten
gallon or ten pound
Bucket and I usually get the august and farms brand I will leave a link down below to the kind that I buy of that
Ten cups you're going to take three and you're going to grind them into a powder
And this is going to help make them instant
It's gonna help them to be creamy, and it's gonna help them to be more dense, and it's gonna really really make them a nice
So I just ran those through my ninja Blender
I did two cups and then I did one cup so what we're gonna do is we're just gonna take this is seven cups
Of rolled oats, and here's three cups that I ground into a powder go ahead and stir this up
And this is Gonna be our base
One-third of a cup of your oat mixture goes into each one of these jars. I have this is
Dried whole milk powder
This you can find in the latin food section of your grocery store, you can also order on Amazon
I will go ahead and leave a link down below for you. Anything you see me use today
I will be leaving links to where you can find it on Amazon
It's "Fortificada" that's right fortified, but the the thing about this Nido is it's whole milk powder. It's not
Nonfat dry milk Powder, okay
So I'm gonna put a tablespoon of this whole milk powder in each one
But I'm Gonna add a little bit of salt
I really do find that the oats need a little bit of salt, so we're gonna do a quarter of a teaspoon
And I'm just using Kosher salt here
So that's pretty much your base
for everything
then we're Gonna go ahead and
we'll
Fruit these up now
Usually you get raisins inside and spice like two tablespoons
Or you can do it however you like
If you buy it in the store, you ain't getting two tablespoons of raisins. I can tell you that right now
raisins and
cinnamon you Gotta have cinnamon
so we're gonna put a half a teaspoon of
cinnamon
Just like that
As easy as that one is okay. We're going to put two teaspoons of Chia seed in here. This is gonna serve two purposes for
Nutrition, and it's gonna help thicken things up, and it's super good for you, right got lots of fiber
It's gonna make you feel fuller for longer and we're also Gonna add 2 teaspoons of Golden Flax meal
Well, this is Golden Flax seeds that have been ground up into a meal. What else do we usually get?
We use apples and cinnamon. That's right. Let me find my
There we go
Freeze-dried Apple slices you can use dehydrated apple slices if you have home home dehydrated apples
Go ahead and use those just chop them up. I have these from Valley food storage
Okay, you can put as much or as little in here as you like on these ones with the freeze-dried fruit
I do recommend that you air a little bit on the
Side of more water when you make it
there
and that's all you need there put as little or as much as you like and
We're gonna add some more cinnamon here actually I'm gonna add apple pie spice. I know it's here
It's here
Like a pile of stuff rick and pan over here and show you I have a giant pile of stuff. No joke
There's our apple pie spice. So we're gonna go ahead and add two teaspoons of the chia seed
two teaspoons of the Flax meal
when you want maple and brown sugar
We're gonna go ahead and add the Chia and the flax seed first
There we go
then we're gonna add some brown sugar you can use whatever sugar you like, but since this is brown sugar and cinnamon a
Brown sugar maple brown sugar sorry this is maple Brown sugar oatmeal. We're Gonna add a tablespoon of
Brown sugar and then we're Gonna add a tablespoon of maple sugar. I got this on Amazon, too
And all it is it is
Boiled down crystallized maple syrup. It's really yummy
There you go your very own maple brown sugar oatmeal. That's super boosted with superfoods. Hey guys
I'm getting so ahead of myself
These other two the apple and and cinnamon one add some brown sugar in there, and you can control this sugar
It's entirely up to you
You don't have to put a tablespoon
but we've got our raisin and spice and
everything nice and our apples and cinnamon
And I'm just gonna go ahead, and I'm not perfect. I'm far from it. We realized it before it was too late
but I said we were gonna make bananas and peanut butter, so
again, let's put a tablespoon of Brown Sugar A
teaspoon One and a teaspoon to
Chia seed and teaspoon 1 and teaspoon to a flax meal excellent then
We get into the fancy stuff
Peanut butter Powder you can easily find this in your grocery store near the peanut butter table spoon of peanut butter powder
Some freeze-dried bananas bite slices. This is also Valley food storage
This is what they look like
And you can put as much or as little
Alright, we're going to go ahead and prepare a packet for you now
I just mixed this up in the bowl, but this is maple and brown sugar
That's the one that rick decided
he wanted to eat because he knew that if I made it someone would have to eat it, so
We have some hot water one cup of hot water and you
Can see it's already starting to rehydrate in there and depending on how thick you like your oatmeal then you're Gonna want to
Accommodate the the water at that point
so just go ahead and stir and then let this sit for
Five minutes or so and then it's Gonna get nice and creamy
There you have it. This is our prepared maple and brown sugar oatmeal
You can see how thick it got and that
Is because the oats have absorbed that liquid and the chia seeds are helping it along?
This is super boosted folks. You are going to really get some good nutrition in yourself and in your family of
Course it's up to you
You don't have to add the Chia or the flax you can just make it plain
Whatever you have on hand is gonna work you can just make a whole bunch of plain ones
And then you can dress them as you like after you cook them up and your family can customize their individual portions
No, biggie. This is just an easy way to do it yourself, and then you know what's in there
Like I said rick chose the maple and brown sugar Flavor, so we mix that up in the Bowl
And I'm gonna have him give this a taste
What do you think that's pretty good it tastes like maple and Brown sugar hMM
It really does
mmm, if you have a food storage
this is a great way to rotate out your stock and
A great way to get it in your family, and we're going to be doing a couple more videos
Where we're Gonna show you
two other
different versions of the oatmeal
One with four different chocolate ones and one with four different fruit and cream ones so stay tuned for those
Because I think you're gonna love them, and I know that you're just gonna love having these available
And they're homemade and like I said you know what's inside

Classic Car Reviews: Lamborghini Countach (1974 - 1990)
Introduction. The Lamborghini Countach was a supercar icon from the moment the first prototype appeared at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971.
After a serious amount of work, the production version went on sale at the end of 1973, after losing a litres engine capacity and sprouting ducts and vents to aid cooling.
With its dramatic wedge style, scissor doors and a claimed maximum speed approaching 200mph from its 375bhp V12, the Countach was a concept car for the road.
But despite its otherworldy looks, it was also dynamically much more complete than the Miura - with more grip in the bends, and far more stable high-speed cruising.
In 1978, Lamborghini unveiled the Countach LP400S. It was the first serious revision, but were considered highly appropriate considering that wit all that performance, the original car wore relatively skinny tyres.
In S-specification, the Countach was now fitted with low-profile Pirelli P7s, and a new bodykit was required to make the wider wheels fit.
The entire suspension geometry was changed to cope with the very wide rear wheels, while that over-the-top rear wing began to make an appearance on owners cars.
In 1982, the Countach received a larger engine in order to claw back some of the lost high speed performance that had been lost when that bodykit was fitted.
Lamborghini dabbled with a turbo-charged version of the V12 40-Litre engine, but the project as abandoned in an early stage in favour of expanding the engine.
When the LP500S appeared, it had gained 800cc and a mere 10bhp (claimed), but the increase in torque had huge benefits on driveability. But better was to come in 1985, when the LP500S was upgraded to QV specification.
The newly-enlarged 5167cc Quattrovalvole engine, designed by Giulio Alfieri, saw power leap to 455bhp and acceleration was once again shattering, blowing the new Ferrari Testarossa into the weeds.
And this was - by far - the best Countach of them all. The final revisions came in 1988 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding Lamborghini.
The Countach Anniversary turned out to be the best-selling Countach of them all with 667 units made - visually it was a retrograde step (despite new bodykit styled by Horatio Pagani), and there was no more power than the QV, but the newly luxurious interior clearly struck a chord with late-80s supercar buyers.
Watch. Watch out for rust - if a Countach isnt stored proplerly, it will corrode quckly and comprehensively. All body panels are available, with the factory still able to supply them - at a cost.
The most rusty areas are the front wings, and the bodykit of S cars and later can hide quite a few evils.
It goes without saying that accident damage is an ever-present problem. Fine, if the repairs have been done correctly - but scary if not.
Body panel fit quality of factory cars is good, so if you have uneven shutlines, have a good delve into its history. Chassis corrosion is also an issue, so check its spaceframe very closely indeed.
Does the aircon work? It needs to, due to the cabin doing a passable impression of a greenhouse on summer days.
A good aircon specialiast will find no problems with a Countach, and will often advise to change all hoses as well as fitting a more efficient compressor. Expensive, but worth it.
The V12 is strong and surprisingly rugged if looked after properly. And that means specialist care. Check when the valve clearances were last adjusted - its a big job, and not everyone is that thorough in their servicing regimes.
Oil needs changing every 6000 miles, and needs to to be of a high quality semi-synthetic variety. A Lamborghini V12 shouldnt burn oil, and if it does, be prepared for a nasty surprise. Full rebuilds are of the order of £15,000.
If theres oil around the sill area, check that the lubricant pipe that runs from the radiator back to the engine is in one piece. Its a £1000 job to replace them - and they do wear out with age.
If the engine misfires or coughs, budget to replace the electronic ignition system with something more modern - the Magnetti Marelli module fitted as standard will be worn out by now.
Gearbox is rugged, but rumbling bearings are worth listening for. Higher pitched whining will be the worn gears - but youll be unlucky to encounter this. Budget on £10,000 for a gearbox rebuild.
Clutch life is limited - bank on 20-000-40,000 miles, and to replace the whole lot is an engine-out job, which will come to £5000-10,000 depending on the model.
Rear suspension is complex, and costly to rebuiild at around £2000 (because of its rose-joints), but it needs to be tip-top, given the performance potential. Easiest way to tell? Snap oversteer.
Brakes are straightforward, but check that the rear discs are okay, as the handbrake has a separate pair of calipers, and they are prone to seizing.
