U.S. President Donald Trump has officially announced that the United States is withdrawing

from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

Following the announcement,... Trump's national security adviser said the move was also a

message to North Korea ahead of the Pyongyang-Washington summit.

Experts have mixed feelings on whether Trump's decision might derail the ongoing efforts

to denuclearize North Korea.

Lee Ji-won has more.

"I am announcing today that the United States will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal."

With Tuesday's announcement from the White House, the U.S. has officially withdrawn from

the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, forged in 2015,... aimed at curbing Tehran's nuclear

program in exchange for eased economic sanctions.

President Trump said the U.S. has definitive proof Iran has been lying about its nuclear

activities, adding that the Obama-era deal was too weak to fully denuclearize Iran even

if it fully complied with the deal.

He warned that the highest level of economic sanctions will be imposed, and any nation

that helps Iran develop nuclear weapons will also be strongly sanctioned by the U.S.

The sanctions related to Iran's energy, auto and financial sectors will be imposed after

90-day and 180-day wind-down periods.

Other signatories to the deal, who had been trying to dissuade President Trump from making

this decision, expressed their regret in a statement.

Britain, Germany, France and the EU said they will continue to implement the deal,... while

Iran responded by saying it could restart industrial enrichment of uranium.

But Iran's President ( ) Hassan Rouhani said he would wait a few weeks to discuss the matter

with Iran's allies and other signatories to the nuclear deal first.

While the decision was widely expected, eyes are now on whether the decision will affect

a possible North Korea-U.S. denuclearization deal, expected to be made at their summit

in the coming weeks.

At a press conference after Tuesday's announcement, John Bolton, Trump's national security adviser,

said the message to North Korea is that the President wants a real deal and that the U.S.

will not tolerate inadequate deals.

Experts have mixed views on whether President Trump's decision will have an impact on what

appears to be an impending denuclearization deal with Pyongyang.

And while some say it may seem to give the U.S. the upper hand, North Korea could also

end up requesting more from Washington.

"It could seem like the U.S. is indirectly pressuring Pyongyang for a complete denuclearization

deal, but the North could also ask the U.S. to give it a rock solid security guarantee,...

so the U.S. cannot simply ditch the deal unilaterally at a later date."

But others doubt President Trump's decision to scrap the Iran deal will bother the North

Koreans at all.

"I don't think it'll have a significant effect.

The North Koreans never had much interest in the Iran deal.

When people in the west kept suggesting that the JCPOA was a model for a future North Korean

deal, they felt compelled to come out and state explicitly 'No, this is not a precedence

for us, we have the bomb, Iran doesn't, it suits their needs, it doesn't suit ours.

It's irrelevant.'"

With U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visiting North Korea for the second time on Wednesday,

eyes are on whether the two sides can iron out their remaining differences and finally

announce the date and location of their highly-anticipated summit.

Top 5 ways China can win a Trade War with the US - Duration: 5:18.

"Trade wars are good, and easy to win," President Trump tweeted after announcing heavy tariffs

on steel and aluminum imports.

So today, we are counting down the top 5 ways China could "easily win" a trade war with

the US.

Starting off at number 5 might come as a surprise, but China could limit the number of overseas

students studying in the US and limit the number of tourists visiting the US.

Some people in the US might consider this a good thing on the surface, but it would

have a major impact on the US economy.

According to the US Commerce Department, Chinese tourists spent more in the United States in

2016 than tourists from other countries.

Chinese tourists spent over $33 billion in 2016 and that number has risen every year

since 2009.

Meaning that China could impact the US's tourism industry if the Chinese government

restricted travel to the United States.

Another aspect of Chinese overseas spending in the US is international students studying

in America.

According to Caixin, "overseas Chinese students spend around $100,000 each per year" and

there are over 300,000 Chinese students studying in the US.

This means that Chinese students contribute around $30 billion to the US economy each

year.

Both groups, tourists and students, contribute around $65 billion annually to the US economy,

which could be limited by the Chinese government, if a trade war ensued.

This would have a major impact on local economies, especially college towns.

Another way China could disrupt the US is often overlooked, but extremely important

in today's hi-tech society.

China is the largest producer of rare earth metals accounting for over 85% of the world's

total production and it is also the largest exporter to the US.

Rare earth minerals, though not actually rare, have unique chemical properties that make

them essential for wide-ranging technologies, including smartphones, hybrid cars, green

tech, and high-tech weapons.

Currently, the US cannot produce enough rare earth metals and relies on China for more

than 90% of its rare earth imports.

Coming in at number three on our list is "Market Access".

For years, US companies have complained about access to the Chinese market while China has

continued to open up and follow WTO guidelines, but if a trade war was started by the US,

China could restrict further access to its markets.

China could also apply pressure or place regulations on US companies that are already operating

in China making it more difficult for these businesses to operate and compete with local

companies.

China's economic system is based on a Socialist Market Economy.

This allows the Chinese government more flexibility when dealing with an economic crisis.

According to the NY Times, "The Chinese government has much greater control over the

economy, allowing it to shield the public from job cuts or factory closings by ordering

banks to support industries suffering from American tariffs."

Socialist governments provide citizens and businesses with a greater safety net allowing

the Chinese economy to better weather prolonged tariffs, which means China could withstand

US tariffs for a longer period of time than the US could withstand Chinese tariffs.

And that brings us to our number one way for China to win this trade dispute: Tariffs.

China has a variety of ways to impact US farmers and manufactures.

Many experts have pointed to Soybean exports.

According to the NY Times, "The United States exported more than 30 million tons of soybeans

worth more than $10 billion to China last year, over 57 percent of total U.S. exports

of the crop."

Many of these soybean farmers supported Mr. Trump during the last election and helped

him win the presidency, but if these same farmers are losing money and forced out of

business, then they will put pressure on the US government to stop this trade dispute.

Another major tariff could be placed on US manufacturers like Boeing and General Motors.

These companies provide 100's of thousands of jobs in the US manufacturing industry,

and again like many farmers, these workers also supported Mr. Trump in the 2016 election.

If these two important groups pressure the US government to back down from its unprovoked

attacks on China, then the trade dispute could end in China's favor.

So, there you have it; the top 5 ways China could win a trade war with the US, but the

best way for everyone to win is to not start a trade war!

President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang have both called on the US to stop escalating

this dispute and work within the international rules and laws of the WTO, but as long as

What do you think of these unprovoked attacks by the US?

How can both countries work together to solve this growing problem?

DEFICIT BE GONE! April's U.S. Budget Just Made HISTORY - Duration: 5:24.

DEFICIT BE GONE!

April's U.S. Budget Just Made HISTORY For the first time in YEARS, the federal government

took in more money than it spent.

In the month of April, the federal government took in a record sum of $515 billion dollars

in taxes, while only spending $297 billion dollars, setting a new record from 2001.

25 Heart-breaking Deaths While Taking Selfies Zeedaba

From The Daily Wire

In April, the federal government took in a record sum of $515 billion dollars in taxes,

according to a newly released Congressional Budget Office report.

During that time, we spent $297 billion dollars.

Yes, you read that correctly: We actually took in more than we spent — a lot more.

That $218 billion dollars surplus is, in fact, a new record, beating the previous record

set back in 2001 ($190 billion dollars) by $28 billion dollars.

As The Washington Times points out, the surplus surprised CBO analysts, who were predicting

about $40 billion dollars less, though some of that has to do with a shift in timing of

payments.

In its report, the CBO suggests that the unexpectedly high tax revenues was a result of "stronger-than-expected"

economic growth last year and in early 2018.Those payments were mostly related to economic activity

in 2017 and may reflect stronger-than-expected income growth in that year," reads the summary.

"Part of the strength in receipts also may reflect larger-than-anticipated payments for

economic activity in 2018.

The reasons for the added revenues will be better understood as more detailed information

becomes available later this year."

While the news for April is good, some of it has to do with "shifts in the timing

of certain payments that otherwise would have been due on a weekend," the CBO notes, and

we are still behind for Fiscal Year 2018.

"The federal budget deficit was $382 billion dollars for the first seven months of fiscal

year 2018, the Congressional Budget Office estimates, $37 billion dollars more than the

shortfall recorded during the same period last year," the CBO reports.

"Revenues and outlays were higher, by 4 percent and 5 percent, respectively, than

they were during the first seven months of fiscal year 2017."

Here's the section from the new report summarizing the revenues and outlays from April:

The federal government realized a surplus of $218 billion dollars in April 2018, CBO

estimates—$35 billion dollars larger than the surplus in April 2017.CBO estimates that

receipts in April 2018 totaled $515 billion dollars —$59 billion dollars (or 13 percent)

more than those in the same month last year.

Individual income and payroll taxes rose by $73 billion dollars (or 20 percent), on net.

Nonwithheld payments for those taxes, largely final payments of 2017 taxes, rose by $60

billion dollars.

Withholding of individual income and payroll taxes rose by $7 billion dollars (or 4 percent).

Withheld taxes rose both because wages and salaries were higher and because April 2018

had one more business day than April 2017.

However, those factors were partially offset because the share of wages withheld for taxes

was lower, CBO estimates, reflecting the new withholding tables issued in January.

Corporate income tax payments declined by $14 billion dollars (or 24 percent).

Total spending in April 2018 was $297 billion dollars , CBO estimates—$24 billion dollars

more than the sum in April 2017.

The largest changes in outlays were as follows:Net interest on the public debt rose by $6 billion

dollars (or 21 percent).

Social Security benefits rose by $4 billion dollars (or 5 percent).

Spending for military programs of the Department of Defense rose by $4 billion dollars (or

11 percent).

Medicaid benefits rose by $3 billion dollars (or 10 percent).

Spending for other programs and activities increased or decreased by smaller amounts.

Irony: Turkey Issues Hilarious Threat if US Won't Sell It Weapons - Duration: 4:31.

Irony: Turkey Issues Hilarious Threat if US Won't Sell It Weapons

For being a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the nation of Turkey doesn't

always act as though it is a close ally of the United States, instead holding American

citizens prisoner on ridiculous charges and cozying up with NATO rivals like Russia and

Iran.

According to the Washington Examiner, the diminishing relationship between the U.S.

and Turkey has led Congress to consider cutting off future weapons sales to the increasingly

belligerent "ally," a move that has prompted Turkey to threaten retaliation if those weapons

systems aren't sold to them as initially promised.

As part of the debate over the $717 billion 2019 National Defense Authorization Act, Congress

has requested the Department of Defense to compile and deliver a report documenting the

current state of the relationship between the two nations.

A provision in the legislation would halt all weapons sales to Turkey until that report

is complete.

That places on hold the planned purchase of 100 Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike fighter

jets and other weapons by Turkey, a moved which has infuriated the Turkish government.

"If the United States imposes sanctions on us or takes such a step, Turkey will absolutely

retaliate," said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in an interview with CNN

Turk, according to Reuters.

"What needs to be done is the U.S. needs to let go of this."

The Turkish official declined to offer specifics as to what sort of retaliation his nation

might seek, but he is tentatively scheduled to meet with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

within the next week to hash out the matter.

Along with a halt to the sale of the fighter jets, the move by Congress would also halt

the sale of Patriot missile batteries to Turkey.

A big sticking point that prompted the move — aside from the holding of several American

citizens hostage — is that Turkey recently purchased a number of S-400 surface-to-air

missile batteries from Russia, an anti-aircraft weapons system that is wholly incompatible

with those used by NATO member nations, which the U.S. harshly criticized and suggested

could lead to consequences.

But Turkey remained defiant.

"Turkey is not a country under your orders, it is an independent country," Cavusoglu

said.

"Speaking to such a country from above, dictating what it can and cannot buy, is not

a correct approach and does not fit our alliance."

Aside from the Russian missile batteries, Turkey has drawn closer to Russia — as well

as Iran — in other ways.

UPI reported in April that Russian President Vladimir Putin traveled to Ankara to oversee

the groundbreaking of a new $20 billion Russian-funded nuclear power plant, of which the Russian

government will hold a majority share in ownership.

An important subtext beneath all of this is the case of Andrew Brunson, an American Christian

missionary who has lived in Turkey since 1995 and was arrested in 2016 without charges on

suspicion of collaborating with terrorists following the failed "coup" against President

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to an insightful piece from The Atlantic.

Brunson is alleged to have worked with and supported the Kurdistan Workers Party — labeled

a terrorist organization by Turkey — and followers of the Pennsylvania-based exiled

Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen, who Erdogan asserts was behind the failed "coup" that

resulted in a brutal crackdown on the Turkish populace by his regime.

The American missionary faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted of the "crimes"

he has been accused of, and along with about a dozen other Americans held prisoner in Turkey

is being used as a pawn in a game of "hostage diplomacy" by Erdogan to force the return

of Gulen to Turkish custody.

The holding of Brunson and others — among other actions by Turkey — is part of the

move by Congress to block weapons sales to the erstwhile ally, according to Aaron Stein,

a senior resident fellow at the Washington-based think-tank Atlantic Counci.

"You do have a Congress that's very upset with Turkey and wants to do something, and

Brunson is a galvanizing factor" toward a harsher stance toward Erdogan's regime,

Stein said.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter in April to call for the release of Brunson,

and hopefully he will instruct his administration to use the halted weapons sales as leverage

to gain his return.

Turkey has not been acting like an ally of America or a member of NATO, and until it

makes more of an effort to do so — such as releasing American hostages and distancing

themselves from our main rivals like Russia and Iran — there is no legitimate reason

for us to sell it advanced weapons systems or continue to consider the country a friend

and reliable partner.

Corporations Are Using Arbitration To ROB You Dry - Duration: 3:55.

One of the biggest scams ever collectively pulled off by corporate America is forced

arbitration.

To put it in its simplest terms - forced arbitration eliminates a consumer's right to sue corporations

when they deceive them.

Millions of Americans have agreed to this by signing "arbitration clauses" in contracts;

They're in your credit card contracts, your cell phone plans, your car and mortgage loans

- the list goes on and on as corporations are making sure that they're the ones with

a legal advantage over you, for when they find themselves in trouble.

And when they do, that contract you singed won't allow you to file a lawsuit or create

a class action against them for ripping you off, instead, you'll have to go before a panel

of arbitrators to resolve the dispute.

Unless you are a board member of one of these corporations, there is no way that these arbitration

clauses will help you.

I'll give you an example of how this scam works: Usually corporations pick the arbitrators

so they know they are going against a friendly audience; They also have the benefit of having

almost endless money to drag out the process, where most consumers can't even afford to

hire a lawyer.

And when you're talking about small amounts of money, it can cost a customer more to arbitrate

than they could ever get back in damages.

And even if a consumer is willing to jump through the countless hoops corporations put

in place, studies show that it is businesses who win 80% of the time.

The deck has been stacked against American consumers.

Now here's a quick example of how this issue can hurt you personally - suppose your credit

card company or cell phone company was overcharging you 5 dollars a month.

And not just you, but 10 million people a month.

Because you signed that arbitration agreement, you can't join a class action lawsuit with

the other victims.

Instead, each of you has to hire your own lawyers for hundreds of dollars an hour just

to get your 60 dollars back.

You lose money in the process even if you win, while the corporation pockets 50 million

dollars.

U.S. Secretary of State arrives in N. Korea: AP - Duration: 3:01.

Important meetings happening today not just in Tokyo but also in Pyongyang.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in North Korea for the second time in a matter

of weeks... for meeting with officials there presumably to get ready for President Trump's

meeting with Kim Jong-un.

Last time Pompeo went to the North it was in secret, but this trip was announced by

President Trump himself.

Our correspondent at South Korea's unification ministry,...

Oh Jung-hee, is on the line with more.

Jung-hee, Mike Pompeo is in Pyongyang again.

Have we learned anything about what he's been doing, who he's meeting with?

And when are we going to hear more about plans for the summit?

Hi, Devin.

We are now hearing that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with North Korea's Kim

Yong-chol today.

Kim Yong-chol is a close political aide to Kim Jong-un... and was Mike Pompeo's direct

counterpart for talks over the North Korea-U.S. summit when Pompeo was head of the CIA.

As for now, it's only known that Pompeo and Kim Yong-chol promised to continue joint efforts

for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

I will be providing you with updates as more details emerge.

This is Secretary Pompeo's second visit to North Korea in just about a month,... and

many believe this could be sign that new progress has been made regarding the first-ever summit

between the leaders of North Korea and the United States.

And, noting what President Trump has said,... it seems likely that the date and location

of the Pyongyang-Washington summit could be announced soon.

"We have our meeting scheduled.

We have our meeting set.

The location is picked.

The time and date, everything is picked.

And we look forward to have a great success.

We think relationships are building with North Korea.

We'll see how it all works out.

Maybe it will, maybe it won't.

But it can be a great thing for North Korea, South Korea, Japan and the entire world.

We hope it all works out."

Jung-hee, the understanding is that Pompeo is in the North to finalize the agenda for

the scheduled North Korea-U.S. summit.

One thing President Trump wants to talk about, of course, is the issue of the three American

detainees.

Can we expect any progress on that front?

Well, when asked whether the three Americans detained in North Korea would be released,...

President Trump said related news would come soon,... adding that it would be a great thing

if they were to come home.

Hopes are high that the three Americans could return to the U.S. with Pompeo.

And that's especially because, in contrast to Pompeo's last Pyongyang visit that was

completely secret,... this visit involves a couple of American reporters -- raising

the prospect that the Trump administration might want to create a dramatic scene.

On his way to Pyongyang, Pompeo told reporters... he had not yet received a commitment from

the regime that it will release the detainees.

But he added he will bring up the issue,... saying he hopes Pyongyang will (quote) "do

the right thing."

Back to you, Devin.
