Mike Pompeo Struts into State Dept. and TORCHES the Old Guard

It's Mike Pompeo's State Department now, and things are quickly changing.

Pompeo is moving fast – filling vacant senior positions and realigning the State Department

to make sure it's totally inline with President Trump's "America first" agenda. From

Washington Examiner

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is moving immediately to fill vacant senior positions at the State

Department, a task so large it has the feel of a "presidential transition" as opposed

to a hand-off from one member of President Trump's Cabinet to another, according to

Republican foreign policy experts.

"That is true in the sense that there's so many vacancies," Council on Foreign Relations

senior fellow Elliot Abrams told the Washington Examiner.

"It's really incredible how many vacancies there are.

It's more like starting fresh."Five of the nine most senior positions at Foggy Bottom

are vacant; the number was six, but Pompeo already has filled the role of counselor of

the department.

Dozens of ambassadorships are empty, while there are just five Senate-confirmed assistant

secretaries of state.

As a result, Pompeo has an unusual opportunity to shape the upper echelons of the diplomatic

corps the way he wants to, at a time when the Trump administration has multiple high-stakes

negotiations underway.

But it's also more than just an opportunity — it's a requirement for him to win over

a bureaucracy whose hostility to fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was a seedbed for media

controversies and clashes with congressional overseers.

At the moment, he's being received at Foggy Bottom like a breath of fresh air.He has one

piece of luck, which is that he is inevitably going to be compared with his predecessor,"

said Abrams, who served in the State Department during President Ronald Reagan's administration

and on President George W. Bush's White House National Security Council.

"So Secretary Pompeo starts way ahead of the curve.

Rather than following a very popular secretary, he follows an unpopular secretary."

Beyond the politics of getting confirmed, there have also been signs that Pompeo has

a sincere criticism of how Tillerson managed the department.

"I enjoyed working with Secretary Tillerson, I think his lack of appointees being confirmed

by this body was one of the problems, but, for whatever the reasons, there's a morale

problem," Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, told Pompeo during his confirmation hearing.

"I'm not going to ask you to repeat with me what you said in private, but I was encouraged."The

lack of political appointees under Tillerson has a number of causes, not least of which

is the hostility between Trump and much of the traditional Republican foreign policy

establishment.

Still, Pompeo was startled to learn the extent of the vacancies as he met with State Department

staff after Trump picked him to take over as the top diplomat.

When one official suggested that Tillerson had postponed some nominations until after

he finished developing a much-discussed plan to reorganize the State Department, Pompeo

dismissed the explanation.

"In my corporate life, I did two multimillion dollar [reorganizations], and that has nothing

to do with filling up slots," Pompeo said during one such meeting, according to a source

close to the White House.

Pompeo has promised to nurture State Department morale from the earliest days of his nomination

— a message that was a political necessity, given the need to win a precious few Democratic

senators to back his confirmation.

"He's already started interviewing people here at the state department for various positions,"

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert told reporters Thursday.

"He intends to interview people throughout the weekend."

His efforts could get bogged down in the Senate, due to the twin pressures of political opposition

and the congressional calendar.

"The blessing is that he gets to choose his own team," Abrams observed.

"The curse is that I think the confirmation process is going to be a big problem.

If you come in on January 20th, you have the opportunity to get everybody confirmed in

a few months, but because of the August recess and then the October election recess I think

he's going to have trouble getting everybody confirmed before mid or late fall."

In the meantime, Pompeo is waging an effective public relations campaign directed at the

State Department personnel.

"I will get to as many parts of this organization as I can.

I said in my testimony that I'll spend as little time on the seventh floor — I think

it's the seventh floor, right?" he said to laughter, referring to his new office.

"I look forward to meeting just as many of you as I can get a chance to do, to learning

from just as many of you as I can, and to leading that team onto the field … I'll

see you all around the building."

To Tillerson's critics, that was a clear break with the former Exxon Mobil CEO's

style.

"Tillerson wanted to make appointments at first but started discovering that most of

the people he recommended were on the White House blacklist — so after a while he started

relying on his few political appointees in the front office and didn't care so much

about the rest of the building," one Republican foreign policy expert with knowledge of the

process told the Washington Examiner.

"For Tillerson, the career people were doing just fine, so why spend time on the issue?"

For one thing, the lack of appointees exposed Tillerson to a steady drumbeat of attacks

from congressional Democrats that he had "hollowed out" the State Department, charges amplified

by persistent leaks from current and former diplomats.

Pompeo reportedly has put a tourniquet on at least one of those vulnerabilities; he

plans to withdraw Adm. Harry Harris' nomination as ambassador to Australia, in order to send

the former Pacific commander to South Korea, according to the Washington Post.

As he tried to fill other posts, Pompeo will still have to navigate the problem of White

House hostility to Trump's erstwhile critics.

"[The president has decided] basically, 'if you opposed me in 2016 or said critical

things, then we're not going to offer you a position in this administration," said

Abrams, whose bid for the second-highest job in the State Department was nixed reportedly

due to past criticism of Trump.

"My own view is it's a mistake.

… The president needs all the talent he can get.

Any president needs all the talent he can get."

Hyundai is Making it Easier for U.S. Dealers to Sell Genesis Luxury Cars - Duration: 3:11.

Genesis has been on a bit of a roller coaster since it was spun off from Hyundai as its

own luxury brand.

Until recently, the plan was to open a whole new dealer network for Genesis so the fancy

luxury cars wouldn't have to share showrooms with Elantras.

According to a recent report in Automotive News, the previous plan to sell Genesis vehicles

exclusively through standalone dealers has been revised to make all U.S. Hyundai dealers

eligible to sell Genesis luxury cars.

Genesis has planned to roll out a chain of Genesis retailers consisting of about 100

stores in 48 markets.

Genesis franchises need to be applied for separately and the dealerships still need

to set aside special stores and service facilities just for Genesis, but it seems like it's gotten

a lot easier for American Hyundai dealers to sell luxury cars.

"By having more nationwide distribution, you're going to allay consumer fears that they'll

be traveling and not be able to get service on their vehicle," said a southern U.S. Genesis

dealer to Automotive News.

"If it pans out, it'll be a great thing.

It'll help sell more cars, it'll help overall dealer profitably, strengthen their dealer

network, and include all those who want to sell the product, and believe in the Genesis

product, to sell and service those cars.

I think it's a great decision."

So, if a Hyundai dealer does go forward with a Genesis franchise, how will that work?

"For those that chose to become a Genesis franchisee, the same requirements as we had

before to achieve brand separation and independence still remain: for example the standalone facility

requirement remains the same as before so they must provide a separate Genesis facility

to our design and spec requirements by 2021," said Genesis representative Kevin Smith in

an email to The Drive.

The total number of dealers selling Genesis vehicles may actually be higher than earlier

expectations.

While the plan was to just have the 100 or so standalone dealers, now the number depends

on how many Hyundai dealers apply for Genesis franchises and how many of them are approved.

Genesis is trying to find a happy medium by keeping a measure of exclusivity to the brand

while still being accessible to the people who want the cars.

If you're in the market for a Genesis and you were worried about how you were going

to get one, it should be easier than previously thought despite the push for exclusivity.

Ingraham:US JUDJE QUESTIONS SPECIAL CONSELS POWERS IN MANAFORT CASE - Duration: 15:08.

a federal judge just unloads on Bob Muller's legal team suggesting that

they're lying and only out to get Trump ha does that sound familiar district

judge TS Ellis is hearing the case against former Trump campaign manager

Paul Manafort in the Eastern District of Virginia and in court today he blasted

the special counsels legal team questioning their motives and even their

honesty Ellis told prosecutors you don't really care about Mr Man afford you

really care about what information mr. Man afford can give you to lead you to

mr. Trump and an impeachment or whatever the judge demanded to see the so-called

scope memo outlining the range of Muller's Russia probe and when

prosecutors objected it his unrelated material Ellis retorted I'll be the

judge of that and then he added we don't want anyone

in this country with unfettered power it's unlikely you're going to persuade

me the special prosecutor has the power to do anything he or she wants the

American people feel pretty strongly that no one has unfettered power well a

delighted president Trump broke news of the hearing to the NRA annual meeting in

Dallas this afternoon a highly respected judge in Virginia made statements it

says Wall Street Journal it says Judge questions Muller's authority to

prosecute manifold judge Thiele who is really something very special I hear

from many standpoints he's a with her sister suggested the charges before the

US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia which is part of

the Muller teams the pressure mr. metaphor into giving up

information on President Donald Trump or others in the campaign I've been saying

that for a long time to winch on it well let's review these developments with

House Intel Committee Chairman Devin Nunez we have a lot to talk about

with him chairman Nunez it's good to see you ts Ellis I know very well he's a

senior judge in the Eastern District of Virginia

a long time ago I interviewed with him I think I even argued a case before him at

one point very well-respected appointed by President Reagan back in 1987 but he

was brutal on the the counsel who was arguing the case Michael Dreeben who is

the basically a Deputy Solicitor General who's now in the Moller office what were

your thoughts on his comments about how this is really outside the scope of the

mulher Authority I was astonished by the comments the judge made today although

it's not surprising everything in this case laura has just gone off the rails

there's not a day that goes by that something new crazy doesn't break you

know finally just today we were able to get the two pages that we needed that we

now know that Comey and McCabe did in fact say that general Flynn

you know the agents that interviewed general Flynn didn't think he was lying

now we listened to mr. Comey over the last three weeks run around saying just

the opposite so you have the judge saying that they're lying but the Moller

teams lying you now have the case where we now know that mr. Comey has been

lying out there publicly this continues to just I think that's been will during

quite frankly now congressman Jim Comey basically decided to override the agents

including Peter struck who you know we focus on Struck's techs with Lisa Paige

and maybe as an animus against President Trump but I believe unless I'm wrong I

believe Peter struck with one of the agents who interviewed Mike Flynn and we

had heard this from some time now confirm that Mike Flynn didn't lie Lisa

it was up to them meaning port Mike Flynn they had the twist of the screws

on him to please guilty to a false statement in order to

you know like a lot of people do save their family save their whatever money

they have left and and meanwhile Comey is going around saying no no no he lied

and this is what you know it's it's wild why would you this is the override the

agent this is my question well well look this isn't new news to us on the

Intelligence Committee this has been the problem of all these issues that they

keep classified from the American people so we knew this very shortly after the

interview took place mister the interview where the FBI agents went into

the White House and interviewed mr. Flynn shortly after that mr. Comey comes

in briefs us that's on the record I know he also briefed other committees so on

the record we knew what mr. Comey said we had the transcripts we have been

fighting with the Department of Justice and the FBI for six weeks to release

this information to the American people we finally have it tonight late on a

Friday night this is totally unacceptable you have the judge from

this morning this has just continued ridiculous behavior it's like they just

want to keep digging and the American people are beginning to understand that

the Department of Justice and the FBI have major problems I have no idea how

they can investigate themselves but evidently they continue to believe they

can but they have so many more documents that they have to provide to us that we

that we needed like yesterday and I hate to have to continue to come out publicly

and talk about this that we are still

yeah let's remind everyone a few weeks ago you were on the show I believe it

was a Friday night if my memory serves me correct maybe it was a Thursday night

and you essentially threatened rod Rosenstein with contempt of Congress or

impeachment if the underlying document the computer document that authorized

the probe of the spying on Carter page surveillance on Carter page wasn't

released he did finally then release that congressman Nunez however now

you're getting slammed in response by CNN and now others that you

are asked for these documents and then you Devon Nunez have a staffer read them

you don't read them so how serious are you you just want to help the president

you're not even reading the documents what about that CNN report that came out

today yeah so look I I enjoy being attacked the first thing I will tell you

is whatever CNN in The New York Times are write or talk about I don't read

their information I will tell you that we're not going to get into the

specifics about how we conduct our investigation but I will tell you Laura

and I've said this numerous times on your show and others is that mr. Gowdy

if our lead investigator mr. Gowdy is the one who reviews all the initial

documents with our investigators I'm not going to get into the processes that we

use that as the chairman of the committee when they need documents they

come to me we use the power that we have vested in us by the Constitution to try

to force the Department of Justice and the FBI to comply yeah I'm trying to

help our viewers understand this though when you're when they come after you and

say Nunez is is getting getting these documents I think a lot of people want

you to have these documents then you don't read them it opens you up to

criticism so I mean I don't understand why it compromises the investigation for

you to say I read the documents that are necessary

to do this investigation and I consult with my staff on the you know on the

primary documents but I read those so I don't understand why your reluctance to

say whether you read them or don't read them I don't get that well look this is

first of all what they're talking about there in that is is that it's a page and

a half what what specifically we were looking for and that as you may remember

is we are looking we're investigating the State Department we are looking for

any official intelligence that came across through the five eyes channels

that's what we were looking for that was not in the document so at that point at

this point we have other lines of inquiry that we're going down we have

subpoena out there and so you know this is this is why you know we can play

process games all the time but if they alt a long but at the end of the day

here yeah you know we continue to have our investigation

blocked we continue have to deal with the missing from disinformation

campaigns well I may and this is what the left always does just so I mean

everyone who watches this show understands because they've done it too

may they've tried to when you're effective and when you're holding people

accountable and if you are conservative or if you've ever supported the

president you are a target and so that's why you know all the articles floating

around about you and Paul Ryan should take you off the committee that was a

couple of weeks ago it's it's predictable I want to read for you a

comment by Eric Lichtblau about what's happened to the FBI he said many view

Trump's attacks as self-serving he's called the renowned agency an

embarrassment to our country and its investigations of its business and

political dealings as a witch-hunt but as much as the bureau's roughly fourteen

thousand special agents might like to tune out the news internal and external

reports have found lapses throughout the agency and longtime observers looking

past the partisan haze see a troubling picture something really is wrong at the

FBI now that's not Devon Nunez saying that that is a Lichtblau sang it yeah

this is what I've actually conveyed this to director Ray he has a tough tough job

to do he needs to clean the place up I've said this also publicly there we

don't see a systemic problem out in the field with field agents or with people

overseas that are doing very difficult work trying to track down terrorists and

other bad guys where we do see a problem is in Washington DC now - director Ray's

credit you have seen many of the Comey era people have been excused that's a

good sign okay would be even better is if director

ray made sure that we get this information that we need in a timely

manner congressman thank you so much for joining us tonight we really appreciate

it and here with reaction are two esteemed attorneys scott Bolden joins us

from Las Vegas along with Alan Dershowitz in New York he's the author

of the new book trumped-up how the criminalization of political differences

in dangers democracy great to see both of you thank you professor Dershowitz

judge Ellis you know him well I know him well

for a long time ago and I was litigator he's incredibly talented judge

he he pretty much calls balls and strikes 77 years old senior judge on the

Eastern District he just laid into the special counsels office

he's cantankerous he's known for that too but he laid into them there was a

one quote that I especially want to raise here he said I don't see what

relationship this indictment has against metaphor with anything the special

counsel is authorized to investigate it's unlikely you're going to persuade

me the special counsel has this unfettered power to do whatever he wants

look every criminal lawyer I know every experienced lawyer has known from the

beginning what's going on they're going after people like manna Ford and Flynn

and Cohen not because they have any interest in any of them they just want

to flip them they want to make them not only sing but as the judge put it in his

statement maybe even make them compose you know I think I came up with that

phrase he's composing instead of singing the judge was just saying what we all

have known right from the beginning the only difference between this judge and

other judges is this judge is completely and totally honest he calls it the way

he sees it he's absolutely right this is what's been going on the amazing thing

is that he called them on it he said to prosecutors essentially you can't do

that if you're a special counsel you have to go after directly the evidence

that's within your mandate you can't be finding people creating or exaggerating

or coming up with crimes not in order to get those people but in order to squeeze

them and get them to sing and compose it's about time a judge honestly looked

at the situation and assessed that you and I have been talking about this now

for months we shouldn't be surprised but it's surprising that and refreshing that

a federal judge will say that it also indicates what another point I made why

didn't Muller take this case out of Virginia and try to put it in Washington

DC because he knows that he would get more positive judges more positive

jurors in the District of Columbia then he would get in Virginia in Virginia

he's going to get judges like this who was straight in DC he's going to be

understand jury who a much much more anti-trump and so clearly that was judge

shopping jury shopping when I said that I was

the racist I was condemned congressman condemn me professors condemn me but I

think I think this opinion vindicates what I've been saying for a long long

time Scott he has we do have another aspect of the case that's still in DC I

think we might have just lost got there that is in DC and we'll get him back let

me know and it's Amy Berman Jackson professor Dershowitz who is a Obama

appointee and so she is she still hasn't ruled on the motion to dismiss but these

bank banking transactions go back to 2004 in 2007 and so Dreeben tries to

argue today saying well no this is within the scope of the investigation

any and he said I'll be the judge of that he's like I don't think so I'll be

the judge of that so in 2004 2007 an investigation that began in 2014 a

professor was somehow just just looked into the Muller investigation it is

ridiculous it's so patently obvious from the very beginning you were way ahead of

the curve on it well no and it's so important because what they're doing to

these people like manna Ford and Flynn and Cohen could happen to any of us if

we happen to be collateral damage if you know somebody who they're going after

they're gonna find something on you they're gonna squeeze you this is

something that has plagued the American justice system for many decades look if

they do it to get the Mafia maybe it's understandable if they do it to get

terrorists maybe it's understandable but to do it to get an elected President of

the United States somebody who I voted against but who's the elected President

of the United States to use that tactic the mafia terrorist tactic of squeezing

people and making them testify and making them sing and making them

composed in dangers the civil liberties of all Americans let's look at what

President Trump said today after he heard about the continuing conversation

about whether he should speak to a grand jury or be interviewed by Muller he made

these

Swearing-in Ceremony for U.S. Ambassador to the Organization of American States Carlos Trujillo - Duration: 16:28.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, good afternoon.

And on behalf of President Trump and the First Family, it's my privilege to say, welcome

to the White House.

And welcome to the swearing-in of the 20th United States Ambassador to the Organization

of American States, Carlos Trujillo.

(Applause.)

Before I begin, let me just speak a few words from my heart about a tragic incident that

occurred earlier today.

I wanted to take a moment to address the crash involving the Puerto Rico Air National Guard

C-130 that went down outside Savannah, Georgia.

First responders are on the scene.

We will continue to monitor developments.

But allow me to express the deepest sympathies of the First Family and my family, to all

the families of these brave Americans, and to all the courageous airmen who serve with

them in the Puerto Rico National Guard.

You are all on our hearts and will remain in our prayers.

And thank you all for being here for this special occasion.

And, Carlos, I'd like to begin today by welcoming your wonderful family, without whom

I'm sure you would not be standing here today.

So join me in welcoming our new ambassador's wife Carmen, and Carlos, Isabella, Juan Pablo,

and Felipe.

Give them a round of applause.

(Applause.)

And Isabella just proved that she is the daughter of a new United States Ambassador, because

she just named all 45 Presidents.

(Laughter.)

Wonderful job.

I'm very proud of you.

I also want to recognize all the members for your extended family who are here with us

today.

I know how proud they are.

Under President Donald Trump, the Western Hemisphere is a key priority for the United

States of America because the security and prosperity of our region directly affects

the security and the prosperity of the American people.

And our new Ambassador, Carlos Trujillo — the President has chosen a principled leader who

we know will ably represent the United States and our interests at the Organization of American

States.

Carlos, you bring to this new role a wealth of experience and a proven record of service

to this nation.

Growing up in Florida, the son of Cuban parents, you've seen firsthand how the fortunes of

our neighbors across the wider region influence our own nation.

Your hometown of Miami, known as the Gateway to the Americas, is in every sense a melting

pot of different cultures and traditions.

It reflects the rich tapestry of the Western Hemisphere.

For the better part of a decade, you served the good people of your city and state.

Graduated from law school.

You spent four years as Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's

Office.

From there, you founded your own legal practice.

But in 2010, you stepped up once more to represent your hometown, and you've served with distinction

in the Florida House of Representatives ever since.

From the first time he met you, President Trump recognized your leadership and for the

past few months, as a reflection of that, you've served as a special advisor at the

U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

And now you've taken a much larger role — a role that's vitally important to the

life our nation, in our hemisphere, and in the world.

The Organization of American States, which celebrated the 70th anniversary of its founding

only two days ago, brings together the United States and essentially every nation from across

the Western Hemisphere.

In this forum, it will be your responsibility to represent our nation and to forge stronger

partnerships in the pursuit of America's interests.

This is of vital importance to our administration.

Two weeks ago, you and I first met in Lima, Peru at the 8th Summit of the Americas, where

I spoke to the members of the Organization of American States about the United States'

priorities for the region.

I'll be reiterating that message, alongside you once again, at OAS headquarters this coming

Monday.

Under President Trump, as you know, Carlos, the United States seeks to forge stronger

and more balanced trade relationships across the region.

We believe the spread of prosperity beyond our borders benefits our people and benefits

our hemisphere.

We've already made good progress in recent months with many of our allies across the

region, and we look forward to working with you to continue to advance America's economic

interests.

We also seek to strengthen our security partnerships in the Western Hemisphere.

The interconnected dangers of illegal drugs, illegal migration, human trafficking, rising

crime increasingly threaten the wellbeing of our people.

And so we are committed, and it will be much of your task, to work with our allies across

the region to root out corruption — the corruption that spreads misery and instability

and compromises the values of this hemisphere of freedom.

And finally, the United States is committed to see to it that this is a hemisphere of

freedom.

As you know, the Charter of the Organization of American States reads, "The historic

mission of America is to offer…a land of liberty."

The Western Hemisphere has made great progress toward this goal.

But as we all know, we still have much work to do.

In recent weeks, the government of Nicaragua has brutally repressed its own people by raising

their voices in peaceful protest.

In Cuba, the Castro name may be fading, but its legacy of tyranny lives on and hangs over

that country like a cloud, darkening the future of all who call that island home.

And in Venezuela, under the rule of the dictator Nicolás Maduro, a once-flourishing democracy

has disintegrated into dictatorship.

And what was once perhaps the most prosperous nation in South America has become one of

its poorest.

In light of these many challenges, President Trump has made our nation's policy clear.

We will stand with all who yearn for liberty and we will stand up to their oppressors.

(Applause.)

Carlos, you were along with me at the Summit of the Americas when the President had me,

just a few short weeks ago, communicate his vision for achieving our goal of a hemisphere

of freedom.

And we know that that vision that will guide your work, as you take on the responsibilities

to represent the United States at the Organization of American States.

And President Trump and I have full confidence that, given your integrity and given your

leadership and given your abilities, that you'll do just that, and advance the interests

of America, and the interests of freedom, and the prosperity and security of our people.

With your voice at the Organization of American States, with the leadership of President Donald

Trump, with the support of the good people of this nation, and freedom-loving people

all across this hemisphere, we know the best days for the new world are yet to come.

So now it is my privilege to administer the oath of office.

So if you want to bring up this big, beautiful family; place your left hand on the Bible;

and raise your right hand, we'll do that right now.

(The oath is administered.)

(Applause.)

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to introduce to you the United

States Ambassador to the Organization of American States, Ambassador Carlos Trujillo.

(Applause.)

AMBASSADOR TRUJILLO: Thank you, Vice President Pence.

It's truly an honor to be here before a lot of my friends and family today, and especially

with you administering the oath.

It really means a lot to me and a lot to my family.

We really, really appreciate it.

Thank you.

A good friend of mine once told me that elections have consequences.

And I think there's nothing — no story that's really resonated with me more personally

than that saying.

And he happened to tell me that in about 2016.

And if you look back in 2016, the state of our country, it was the first time in the

history of America in which people feared that their children would be worse off than

themselves.

And it's something, as I raise my young family, I've really thought about.

And I watched the presidential election cycle more than any one I've seen in the past,

and seeing the campaign of President Trump and now Vice President Pence.

And it's easy to forget where we were at that time in history.

The economy was crashing, people lacked consumer confidence.

And if you looked specifically at the Western Hemisphere, where we were, we were entering

into a Iran deal that the majority of Americans rejected.

We weren't standing with the people of Venezuela.

And our own President was down in Cuba shaking hands, eating hotdogs, and celebrating a baseball

game with a dictator who tortured and imprisoned political prisoners and dissidents throughout

many years.

And then the election happened, and America had a renewed faith.

America had leaders that cared.

And just seeing my grandparents, that are both present here today, they left that.

Imagine being, towards the end of your life — and imagine all those people that left

in refuge, whether they were Cuban or Venezuelan or any other part of the world, and really

thinking, "Was all this struggle in vain?

Is America really going to turn its back on human rights?

Is America really going to turn its back on democracy?"

And right out of the gate, this new administration said, "Absolutely not.

That's not who America is, and that's not what we will stand for."

And you look at the successes that we've had since then.

As I was approached about applying to become an ambassador and — really, the largest

professional honor I've had in my life — they asked me, you know, "Why would you do this?

And why would you want to do it?"

And it's not just being an ambassador.

It's being an ambassador for this administration.

It's being an ambassador that's going to stand up for human rights; being an ambassador

that's going to stand up for democracy; being an ambassador that's going to sit

across the table, whether it's at the OAS or anywhere else, and say that the American

people will always stand on the side of justice and liberty.

(Applause.)

And I can tell you, Vice President Pence, I've never felt more proud than sitting

there in Lima — and as we're sitting in the room, it's a plenary of all these different

leaders from all across the Western Hemisphere.

And you hear people — Evo Morales and some of these people — just attacking American

democratic values.

And you see the Vice President of the United States come in and really set the message

straight: We won't stand for that.

We will always, always stand on the side of human rights.

We will always stand for democracy.

We will always fight for those principles.

I was so proud.

I couldn't have been anymore honored to just be sitting there next to the Vice President

of the United States, looking across the table and seeing the country that's called Cuba,

knowing the history of my family, knowing that my parents, my grandparents came here.

My parents came at the same age as my children who are standing next to me.

And knowing that, in just the one generation — one generation away — you could go from

coming over on a plane with the shirt on your back, working your tail off, paying your taxes,

honoring your country and God.

And in just 40 or 50 years, my grandparents are living testament that your child, your

grandchild, could be standing at this podium.

That is only in America.

(Applause.)

There's a lot of people that have helped me throughout the way and I'd really want

to thank my grandparents who are here today.

It's a real honor that they're both here, living, watching this.

My grandmother who's at home and my other one who is in heaven.

My parents, who are here, a lot of immediate friends and family.

And when you have these small events — these intimate events — you really reflect on

your life.

And I think a lot of the people here are different chapters of my life.

Some of my closet friends since when I was child.

Some of my friends that I made across the way in college.

Some of — some people I went into business with and have become very good friends.

Some people who I had the honor of serving in the Florida House with.

Some people who were supporting me, and mentoring me, and coaching me, and encouraging me throughout

my entire life.

And some new friends that I've made in my limited time working here in the Western Hemisphere.

But you're all very, very special.

And I know that I wouldn't be half the person, half the husband, half the father, half the

American that I am without your support.

And I'm really, really appreciative for that.

And lastly, I want to thank my wife.

I know when the opportunity presented itself, of moving to Washington, D.C. with four young

children and not many schooling options or anything else, not one time did she tell me,

"We can't do that."

When she said, "You could serve your country and you could honor this administration.

You could honor a country that has done so, so much for my family, in particular, and

so much for Americans and people across the world."

It was never, "No."

It was, "When can we start?"

So, Carmen — (Applause.)

Carmen, thank you.

None of this would be even worth — or possible without you.

I really, really appreciate it.

And Vice President Pence, it's really one of the biggest honors of my life to serve

in your administration.

I look forward to working diligently with that resolve and never wavering until Venezuela,

Cuba, Nicaragua, and the Western Hemisphere is free and able to enjoy the liberties and

democracies that we

all celebrate.

Thank you.

(Applause.)

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Thank you all.

U.S. Marine George Anikow Killed In Makati (Murder or Homicide?) - Duration: 7:04.

U.S. Marine George Anikow brutally murdered in Makati Philippines Stay tuned.

MUSICPLAYING

This is a continuation of our series on Crime in The Philippines.

George, Major George Anikow.

United States Marine Corps.

On November 24, 2012, met his death.

George was born in the United States.

Grew up in Howell, New Jersey, graduated High School, went to Rhode Island University.

And then he joined the United States Marines.

There he rose from the rank of a grunt to the rank of a Major in the United States Marine Corps.

So here we have a man of huge character, a hero.

a veteran of the United States Marines.

Now George was married for 15 years, he father of 3 children,

he had a tour in Iraq, had another tour in Afghanistan,

Now fast forward, George is married and his wife is an American diplomat.

She was assigned to the United States Embassy in Manila.

George wanting to be with his family, got an assignment on the Security Team at the United State mbassy.

So George arrived in Manila, in the Philippines in August of 2012.

In November, November 24th to be exact, 2012, George was coming home from a night out.

He went to the bar and he was a little tipsy.

A little inebriated.

He was walking down the street going to one of his Buddies house

He got to the guard at the gate where his buddy lived, his buddy lived in a very exclusive

residence called the Rockwell area.

He went to the guard and asked him what time the gates would be opened and the guard told

him 5:30

So the next thing you know, a car comes up.

And the guard stops the car and said sir, I need your ID.

In the vehicle, there were 4 men.

George became agitated and said, Respect the guard, Respect the guard, Show him your ID,

He just kept going on and on and the people in the car got very agitated.

The men got very agitated.

Long story short, they showed George, they showed the police, they showed the guard,

their ID

And George kept on trying to agitate the men.

Next thing you know the car tried to pull off and George tapped the rear end of the

vehicle with his fist.

The men in the car stopped and the four men approached George face to face.

George knocked down one of the men.

Next thing you know, all 4 men were on top of George running at him trying to get him.

Now George did okay, he fought the men off for a few minutes, but he couldn't continue

because there were 4 of them.

Next thing you know, George was running for his life, and the men finally caught up with

him and they assaulted him and George met his demise.

MUSIC PLAYING

So, this is a tragic story but there are some lessons to be learned from this story.

Number 1, Filipinos never fight fair. There is no thing, no such thing as a fair fight

with a Filipino.

If you mess with one, right around the corner you're going to find his brother or friend

or his relative.

So there's no such thing as a fair fight

Number 2, When you're in the Philippines, watch how much you drink, if you drink

Because when you're inebriated you can't defend yourself, when you're inebriated you can't even think half the time.

Number 3.Whenever you're in the Philippines, and you're around other Filipinos, stay in your lane,

That's what my grandma always told me, stayin your lane, mind your business.

Was it George's business to agitate the men in the car?

And try to assist the guard with his job?

Those are some things we need to consider when we're in the Philippines.

Now in the comments section of this video,I want you to write down and tell me what your thoughts are regarding this story.

Tragic death of an outstanding American.

That's it, for now, guys this is BobbieD, saying take care God Bless, PEACE!

Deep State Patriot Reveals Contents of House Intelligence Committ - Duration: 12:01.

Deep State Patriot Reveals Contents of House Intelligence Committee Memo Evidence of Plan

to End the United States – Explains Why Schumer Shut it Down!

QAnon is reputed to be a patriot with extensive evidence of the Deep State's war on President

Trump.

He took to the Internet yesterday to reveal what will be revealed either directly in the

House's Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence memo or as a result of the investigation that

will result from it..

QAnon's post requires some explanation but it makes clear that the information detailed

in the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is going to blow the lid off

the treasonous intent of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama Obama, the highest levels of

his administration, and the entire Democratic Party.

QAnon's Internet post yesterday exposes all of they key points in their plot to take

down the United States.

QAnon begins by asking "Does Sessions have the courage to bring criminal investigations

against Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, as well as criminal elements in the DNC, the

FBI, and the DOJ?"

He says that if Sessions lacks the nerve after the "Nunes Memo" has been made public,

President Trump will be forced to replace him as Attorney General.

He then confirms that the memo is so damning that the entire Russian collusion narrative

will be blown out of the water and that the result will:

Have Sessions reinstated with full authority including over the Russia probe.

Provide undeniable evidence of collusion between the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton's

campaign and the DNC.

Provide undeniable evidence that Obama administration appointees John Brennan (CIA), James Clapper

(DNI), Susan Rice (NSA), James Comey (FBI), and Loretta Lynch (Attorney General) along

with many underlings conspired to create a false sense that Donald Trump a Russian plant.

Reveal absolute proof that the Obama administration knowingly provided a FISA court with false

documentation to obtain the warrant that illegally authorized surveillance of the Trump campaign.

QAnon says their brazen disregard for the law was based on their belief that Hillary

was a slam-dunk to be elected and that they would never be held accountable.

The Deep State patriot then outlines the Obama-Clinton 16-year plan to destroy America.

Nothing QAnon posted contradicts a briefing I sat through during Obama's first term

discussing some of the very same issues.

The plan called for a complete infiltration of rogue elements, including Muslim Brotherhood

operatives – elected and appointed – throughout every level of government.

The multi-point plan called for:

Leaking intelligence – especially military intelligence regarding assets and methods.

Cutting and gutting the military.

Cut spending and deplete and degrade military assets through endless and unwinnable (because

of strategy and rules of engagement) war.

Obama left the military at pre-WWI levels of preparedness when he left the White House

at the same time we were fighting on multiple fronts.

NOW CHUCK SCHUMER HAS CUT OFF ALL MILITARY SPENDING!

Purging qualified Generals to strengthen civilian command over military decisions within the

White House.

Placing Chief of Staff Valerie Jarrett in charge of determining any "Good Guys"

either in the military, among elected Republicans, or within the permanent bureaucracy, and find

a way to have them removed.

Compromising all Special Asset Program (SAP) highly sensitive intelligence protocols and

SAP actors (spies) worldwide as Clinton did with her private server that she maintained

with Obama's approval.

Edward Snowden providing open source access to highly sensitive information that has proven

catastrophic to our military.

Obama ordered the targeting of Conservatives both inside and outside of the federal bureaucracy.

From the IRS targeting Conservatives and Libertarians to reinstating Project Mockingbird funding

of leftists journalists, authors, and the MSM, to Net Neutrality rules that provided

Internet edge providers with the power to censor conservative content.

The Obama administration allowed the Internet giant edge providers to dominate the Internet

content and revenue (space advertising) without fear of DOJ or Federal Trade Commission anti-trust

lawsuits.

Flood the United States with illegals to insure the Dems' voting base grew larger.

Maintaining a hands-off approach to North Korea's developing nuclear weapons program.

Funding the development of Iran's nuclear capabilities while arming and subsidizing

their minion terrorist wing ISIS.

Instilling uncertainty in the US population by targeting conservative and libertarian

leaders and media for removal while promoting hard-left Marxist groups like Black Lives

Matter and Antifa to create fear.

Strangle the economy through massive regulation, high taxes, and outsourcing jobs and manufacturing.

Clinton was going to continue leading the American decline using the same plan that

Obama had implemented but with her eye on unfinished business:

Overturn the Bill of Rights either by packing the Supreme Court with Marxist sympathizers,

using the judicial appointments already in place to stifle court actions – like we're

witnessing now with Trump's immigration Executive Orders – through legislative action

or by unchallenged and unconstitutional Executive Decree similar to how Obama established DACA.

This would include: Banning personal firearm sales.

Ending Fourth Amendment protections against unlawful search and seizure

Forever ending the Tenth Amendment that protects the rights of the states and individuals.

Ending the Electoral College so that sanctuary states would determine the president

Finally from a March 13, 2013 HRC intercept; throw Black voters – who they kept "starving",

"blind" and "stupid" all of these years – overboard.

Dr. Jerome Corsi, a terrific investigative reporter provides greater details here:

Qanon Decode Four Posts Sunday Jan 21 2018 Will Sessions Drop the Hammer Vers 17.0 Jan

21 2018 by Jerome Corsi on Scribd

Any one or even two of these points could be chalked up to a miscalculation by the Obama

administration but the totality of all of these policy decisions is roadmap that points

to TREASON.

That means that every Democrat – because not a single one raised any red flags along

the way – was complicit in TREASON.

It doesn't end there.

Where were the Republicans who sat in the majority and did nothing but pay lip service

to us?

Remember, without a scintilla of evidence of wrongdoing the Democrats are committed

to impeaching President Trump if they gain control of the House.

Either Republicans shirked their Constitutional mandate or they are too stupid to recognize

a pattern of TREASON right under their collective noses.

In any event it's time

to clean Congress' house.

Slavery Scenarios Infect U.S. Schools | The Daily Show - Duration: 4:47.

I know we've all been disappointed by Kanye West.

But it turns out, he's not the only one

who doesn't seem to understand slavery in America.

A recent online survey found that only eight percent

of American high school seniors

could identify slavery as the central cause of the Civil War.

Yeah. And even worse,

ten percent say the winner of the Civil War

was Captain America.

That's scary.

And this seems like an insane statistic,

but when you see how some schools try

and teach slavery, you'll understand why.

A homework assignment given out this week at a charter school

in San Antonio has set off an uproar.

The students were instructed to make a list

of the negative and positive aspects of slavery.

REPORTER: This is the paper Robert Livar's eighth grade son

was given to fill out in history class.

You can see his son wrote "not applicable"

on the side labeled "positive aspects"

-and wrote a long list of negative aspects. -(applause)

Robert says there's no excuse for this assignment.

Okay, first of all, that kid gets an "A" for life.

-That was amazing. -(cheering and applause)

'Cause that-that assignment is horrible.

Like, that assignment is so bad,

it almost seems like a trap to find the racist kids in class.

Like, "Okay, kids, what were the positive aspects of slavery?"

"I know! Cheap labor!" "Trick question.

Go to detention, you little Grand Wizard!"

And it gets worse. It gets worse.

Because these insane lessons on slavery

have spread into other subjects somehow.

Gwinnett County parents are outraged tonight

over third grade math homework.

It referenced slaves picking fruit and violence.

REPORTER: One problem said, "Each tree had 56 oranges.

"If eight slaves picked them equally,

then how much would each slave pick?"

Then there was another. "If Frederick got two beatings

"per day, how many beatings did he get

-in one week?" -(gasping)

Okay, okay, first of all--

two beatings times seven-- that's 14 beatings.

But, secondly,

slavery is too serious

to just casually drop into math problems.

A-And, by the way, I'm not just worried

about how inappropriate those questions are.

I'm worried about how it's escalated.

Like, first, it's just picking oranges.

Next, it's beatings. You know?

If the next question starts out with,

"Eight men in white robes show up to Frederick's house,"

run!

So, look, obviously, these assignments

aren't treating slavery with the weight it deserves.

But it turns out some teachers go too far

in the opposite direction.

A Bronx teacher landing in hot water

for what she allegedly did to children

during an assignment on the slave trade.

REPORTER: She singled out black students,

told them to lie on the floor,

and stepped on their backs to show them

"how it is to be a slave."

REPORTER 2: A controversial lesson about slavery

has been pulled from a Cerritos high school.

REPORTER 3: A mother complained recently

after getting this e-mail.

Staff would act as slave ship captains,

the e-mail described, and the children slaves.

They'd use masking tape to tie their wrists together,

make them lay on the ground,

and, in a dark room, have them watch a clip

from the film Roots.

What the (bleep), people?

Imagine how confusing that is for a child.

'Cause, on the one hand, getting tied up is terrifying.

On the other hand, getting to watch a movie in school

is sweet as hell.

Like, if you asked eight-year-old Trevor

to get an ass-whupping to watch Jurassic Park

in science class, I'm taking that beating.

It's not right. And you have to admit,

that lesson was historically accurate, I guess, you know?

Slave captains did tie up Africans,

load them on boats, and then had a movie night.

The Africans were like, "Move your chains.

"I can't see the screen. This is my favorite part, huh?

Nobody puts Baby in a corner. Ha-ha-ha-ha."

And, look, I know, I know some people say,

"Trevor, no, the-these teachers are just...

they're just trying to be creative in how they teach."

And I-I get that. I get that.

But here's my question:

how come teachers only seem to get creative like this

with slavery? Right?

It doesn't happen with any other historical subject.

Like, they-they're never like, "Hey, Connor,

"because you're Irish, I'm gonna take away your lunch

so you can learn about the Potato Famine."

They never say that.

And then, also, this thing of, like,

justifying bad things in-in history.

You know, you never hear of teachers asking kids

to write an essay on why the iceberg

was good for the Titanic

or asking for three reasons why those people deserved

to be eaten by Jeffrey Dahmer.

Like, all I'm saying is,

if you're gonna teach slavery that way, teach it all the way.

Or, at the very least, if you're gonna teach slavery this way,

end the lesson on a high note. You know?

If you tie the kids up and make them watch Roots,

then, afterwards, they get to watch Django Unchained

and whup the teacher's ass.
