Auto news on Youtube May 4 2018

Rosie Mercado is no stranger to the runway

and today she's gonna share some of her favorite

fashion fixes to help us feel sexier at any size.

And always great fashion tips, but today we're calling

them fashion fixes Fixes, absolutely.

So what's numero uno?

Number one: the Double B.

Drop a size with the Double B: boots and belts.

Any belt that you add to an outfit

give you an instant A line and it's flattering

for any body shape.

And this is always my go-to.

I love it during the winter.

You can see before.

That is my regular dress and look how.

What a difference!

What a difference because I have a smaller waist

Holy smokes. So it really

emphasizes the beautiful parts and the curves

of a woman.

So, I love this because this gives me confidence,

I feel good, I feel chic, and tights and boots

actually makes our legs look longer with any outfit.

So I absolute, that's one of my go-to looks

and it's something that,

when I look at a picture and I'm walking in my boots

and my belt and my dress--

Double B!

I feel confident.

Belts and boots. Belts and boots, baby.

I have to say, those before and afters, spectacular!

It is. A lot of time

you look at before and afters and you're like eh, really?

What a difference that makes.

It just looks more fashionable and everything.

It's a winner.

As women, we wanna look well put together.

It's those simple little accessories

that change any outfit.

But, the outfits that I wore in these pictures

and the outfit that I'm wearing today, everything,

including the shoes, is under $60, so I make it work

and that's not an excuse to not feel good and look good.

And speaking of what you're wearing today,

what's your next tip?

The next tip, ooh la la.

You ladies, thick thighs saves lives, yes,

but if you want the illusion of longer legs,

a little side detail on any jean, any pant,

makes you look like you have longer legs

and, you know, it's just flattering

to any curve, any body.

So I really love any kind of jean

that you add any element of floral work, any beaded, stones,

anything that you add to a jean,

it just really gives it a little extra punch.

A stripe?

And a stripe, yeah.

Fashion stripes are really big.

Those sporty stripes, they just make you look,

there you go.

It really accentuates any kind of curve,

and again, any different body type can absolutely wear it.

And the best thing is just wear it with confidence.

Wait, and no one can see this but

(audience applauding)

Rosie also has on the back of her pants, roses.

Roses, good, check this out.

See that?

I love that.

Check it out.

I love that. (audience applauding)

Hold on, check it out.

Oh yeah! (laughs)

You know what?

The Doctor's runway.

The Doctor's runway.

You know what?

I think the best thing is just putting outfits

that make you feel good.

You don't have to spend a lot of money

and, at the end of the day, the compliment,

the biggest compliment you can have is your confidence.

A big smile and know that you're worthy,

know that you're beautiful, you're unique,

and that's all that you need in the world to keep going.

(audience applauding)

And to add to that confidence, really quickly.

You have a last tip, this rule of threes.

What's that all about?

Rule of three, so ladies,

you do not wanna mix in more than three colors

because sometimes we will look like a hot mess.

So just keep it no more than three colors in any outfit.

Keep it basic, keep it beautiful, and remember,

we want all the attention to come to our beautiful face

and that beautiful smile.

And I must say, red, white, and black--

Red, white and black?

Work great. Thank you!

I agree, you get too colorful, it gets too busy.

Too busy, hold on.

All right, as we go to break, let's rock that runway.

Oh yeah, Dr. Travis, I love that.

Simple tips for fashion fixes.

Rosie, thank you, as always.

Life Perspective | LOOK YOUR CURVIEST BEST WITH THESE FASHION TIPS - Duration: 12:31.

LOOK YOUR CURVIEST BEST WITH THESE FASHION TIPS

There is a difference between #Curvy and outrageously out of proportion.

And whilst #Curvy has always been appealing, there are a number of tricks that can manoeuvre

the eyes into hitting the best assets in flattering and flaunting them, while hiding the maybe

not so flattering ones.

Nobody ever said #Fashion was the skinny woman's game and if you love fashion, then make it

your mantra.

Here are the only tips you will ever need to look your best every time you dress up:

1.

Command the power of optical illusion: Black is always going to be the new black.

There is a reason why for millenniums people have been gaga over this particular colour.

Fashion For Plus Size WomenIt structures your silhouette.

It hides the unflattering flab and dramatically makes you look #Curvier without looking bulky.

Black is easily the most sophisticated colour out there.

Hence adding black to your wardrobe will not only make you a #CurvaceousGoddess, it exudes

charm and elegance too.

If however you think black is too boring, then opt for mono-chromatically matched looks

to enhance what needs to be enhanced and reduce what does not need extra attention.

Contrast lighter with deeper colours to accentuate your best features.

2.

Work the vertical details: Thou shalt not go for horizontal stripes.

If you are slightly on the heavier side of the weighing scale, then steer clear of the

horizontal stripes which can make you look even wider.

Instead work with vertical patterns which bring the eye downward immediately giving

you an elongated shape.

3.

The perfect bra: Most women have a love hate relationship with their bras.

Not only is this piece of undergarment ridiculously expensive at times, it is also baffling to

find the right one.

Your ideal bra is like your ideal man: comfortable and supportive.

And it should fit you perfectly!

So let the hunt for the perfect bra begin.

Believe me this one thing makes the most difference to all your outfits.

4.

Say no to ill-fitted clothes: It is often a misconception that you should wear baggy

#Clothes to take hide those pounds.

But it only adds extra pounds.

However going for structured well fitted clothes which narrows at the waist while flaring downwards,

makes a lot of difference.

Skater, A-line skirts as well as skinny or straight fit denims does add oomph to your

wardrobe while doing miracles for your body.

5.

Accessorize: Accessorize highlighting one dominant part of your body while keeping it

minimal for the other parts.

Fashion Is | A Film by Sam Fazz and Dalton Belew - Duration: 4:08.

As a little girl I always loved dressing up.

I felt like it gave me a type of confidence that I couldn't access otherwise.

You believe whoever you are dressing up as, and as I got older I realized that

how I felt would influence how I dress myself every day.

When I discovered Lady Gaga and saw how she used clothes to further her artistic vision

I was so inspired by that.

She was my first real introduction in to the world of fashion.

And I thought, This is the world I want to live in.

I want to exist in this world forever.

That's when I became so fascinated with designers and the history of fashion.

I started researching so much, and it made me realize you could exist in that world.

It's not just a fantasy.

I grew up in a small town in Georgia where nobody really follows fashion.

I remember my first trip to New York when I was sixteen.

It was the first time I was exposed to authentic personal style.

When I went to the city, I felt people possessed a certain freedom there

to dress the way the way they wanted to.

And when I started channeling that freedom it was like a liberation for me

because I was dressing solely for myself.

I started to use fashion as a way to show who I am or how I'm feeling on the inside.

I always try to access that same type of feeling I got dressing up as a child when I dress myself now.

The kind of euphoria you get when you put on an outfit and you see yourself the way you want to be perceived.

I didn't feel scared of peoples opinions anymore.

I realized there was a shift in how people treated me as well

because I was finally showing you that this is me.

It's hard to describe my personal style.

I just wear things that I want to wear, things that make me feel the way that I want to be seen that day.

I always feel like I'm dressing up as a character.

The character that I want to portray isn't necessarily a film character or anyone specific.

It's just a representation of the different versions of myself.

Whatever version of myself I want to convey visually that day.

Where I pull inspiration from transcends far past fashion runways and instagram.

I love referencing things from the past, I love the forties and the fifties.

I love characters in movies, especially villainous women.

I think they're always misunderstood but the way they dress really asserts the type of

power that I've always admired.

They look stronger and fiercer.

I love clothing that makes me feel powerful.

Alexander Mcqueen once said

"I design clothes because I don't want women to look innocent and naive.

I want women to look stronger.

I know what misogyny is and I want people to be afraid of the women I dress."

It's one of my favorite quotes.

I always try to evoke that type of attitude.

To be empowered by what I wear.

It doesn't matter if it's designer or vintage or something I made

because it's not about a price tag or a label for me.

Fashion to me is not just about picking out what I'm going to wear for the day.

It's not about impressing anybody else.

Fashion Is about the feeling I get.

Fashion is about my own creative expression.
