California Thug Breaks Into Home, Fed-Up Elderly Victim Gives Him Brutal Surprise

An 80-year-old man in Tuolumne City, California, was recently disturbed by the sound of voices

on his property.

Moments later, he came face-to-face with a vile thug who was not welcome, and the elderly

man delivered a brutal surprise.

It takes a pretty stupid person to wander on to a complete stranger's property, but

that is exactly what the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office is saying happened on Tuesday, May

22, 2018, at the residence of an 80-year-old man and his wife.

According to the Modesto Bee, the shocking incident took place in the late evening hours

when the homeowner heard the sound of voices coming from a rental home on his property

next to the house that he and his wife live in.

Before going to investigate the strange voice he heard coming from the house next door,

he grabbed his gun, according to police.

This homeowner had to be aware of the fact that every week in our country there are numerous

home invasions where the victims are robbed, beaten, raped, or murdered.

The fact of the matter is the elderly gentleman wasn't about to become one of those statistics.

Tuolumne County Sheriff's spokeswoman Sgt.

Andrea Benson said that the homeowner and his wife were confronted by 29-year-old Bryce

Lawrence in the house they rent out on Hodge Avenue, which is currently unoccupied, and

the homeowner feared for his life and the life of his wife.

This is when things took a turn for the worse.

The intruder probably never realized that he was about to be the one who was headed

to the hospital.

The bottom line here is that Lawrence had no business being in the elderly couple's

rental house on their property.

The moment he decided to violate the sovereignty of their home is the moment he earned what

was coming to him.

Lawrence, who authorities said is a transient, confronted the homeowner and was immediately

shot.

According to local news source My Motherlode, the homeowner put one round in Lawrence's

upper torso, dropping him to the ground.

When police arrived, they found the homeowner and his wife safe and sound, thanks to their

decision to exercise their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.

According to the Sheriff's office, Lawrence was accompanied by a female, later identified

by police as 24-year-old Bryanna Ireland of Sonora.

Ireland was arrested by the responding deputies, and Lawrence was reportedly transported by

ambulance to the Adventist Health Sonora medical center.

Later, Lawrence was flown to a Modesto hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound.

No update on Lawrence's condition was available on Wednesday, according to Sgt.

Benson.

Ireland was taken to Tuolumne County Jail and booked on suspicion of burglary, and Lawrence

will most definitely be arrested and taken into custody should he survive the gunshot

wound inflicted on him by the fed-up homeowner.

In my opinion, Lawrence got exactly what he deserved for unlawfully entering a home belonging

to a complete stranger.

The harsh reality in our country today is that dozens of innocent people are badly injured

or murdered in home invasions on a weekly basis.

The filth in our society has no qualms about brutalizing innocent people for their own

personal gain.

This is why it's so important for law-abiding Americans to help preserve and exercise their

right to bear arms.

Once again, the 2nd Amendment pulls its own weight.

An elderly couple in Tuolumne City, California, are alive and well because they took it upon

themselves to lawfully own a firearm and were ready to use it when evil darkened their doorstep.

Perhaps the intruders picked the elderly couple as a target because they assumed it would

be easy to overpower them should a confrontation arise.

In this case, they couldn't have been more wrong.

Now, the two thieving criminals will spend time behind bars for their behavior and very

likely will think twice before trying to victimize other innocent people.

The next time you hear some anti-gun activist preaching about how gun-owners in America

are dangerous people, share this story with them.

The mainstream media won't do anything but vilify lawful gun-owners, so it's up to

us to spread the word when stories like this emerge.

LETTY: And now, in front of the mic, P-Lo is doing numbers of his own.

LETTY: His 2017 collab with E-40 "Put Me On Somethin'" has hit over 2 million views.

LETTY: Oakland's ALLBLACK takes a page from the books of his Bay Area predecessors

Too $hort & Dru Down and Pomona's Suga Free, who stylistically or literally live the pimp lifestyle.

LETTY: ALLBLACK told Fader, quote:

LETTY: His video "'07 Lynch" bypassed a million views since dropping in March 2018.

LETTY: Oakland's Kamaiyah has built quite a name for herself in Northern California.

LETTY: This YG signee has over one million views on her 'Successful' music video since

its release in October 2017.

And good thing, because the video almost took her out.

KAMAIYAH: I almost died on a damn jetski 'cause I can't swim...

INTERVIEWER: Why was you on a jet ski if you can' t swim?

KAMIAYAH: 'Cause I needed the epic shot, dammit.

LETTY: With all this talent, our bet's on these artists.

LOOK WHAT HE SAID!

During the May 21 airing of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) defended

his plan for a government-sponsored "assault weapons" buyback with criminal prosecution

of Americans who do not comply, Breitbart reports.

The Democrat from California, Rep. Eric Swalwell openly admitted that the plan is a FORCED

BUYBACK PROGRAM ON ASSAULT WEAPONS.

When Carlson bluntly said that, that plan is a forced government confiscation, Swalwell

sidestepped and avoided the "confiscation" truth.

"I'm not calling for confiscation.

What I'm saying is we should invest in the buyback, that we should restrict any weapons

that aren't bought back to gun clubs, hunting clubs, shooting ranges.

Keep them there, where it is safe, not on our streets.

And if you are caught, just like, if you were caught with drugs or anything else, they have

prosecuted."

University of Southern California torn by scandal surrounding gynecologist - Duration: 6:29.

University of Southern California torn by scandal surrounding gynecologist

Two-hundred faculty members of the University of Southern California on Tuesday called for the USCs top official to resign over the schools handling of complaints that a campus health clinic gynecologist sexually abused his patients during pelvic exams.

The demand for USC President C.L.

Max Nikias to step down came in an open letter from professors to the schools Board of Trustees as USC faced a mounting tide of litigation accusing Dr.

George Tyndall of misconduct and the university of complicity and negligence.

Tyndall resigned from the university last year after an internal inquiry found his pelvic examination practices were beyond accepted medical standards and that he had harassed patients.

More than 2,200 students, alumni and others at USC, one of the most prestigious private U.S.

institutions of higher education, signed a separate online petition calling for Nikias ouster as the campus reeled from its third major personnel scandal since last year.

The university has acknowledged failing to properly act on at least eight complaints made against Tyndall between 2000 and 2014.

Several former patients have filed civil lawsuits in the past two days, and one new accusation lodged in a sworn declaration released on Tuesday dates back to 1991.

A hotline and special website that USC set up recently have received about 200 more reports from concerned patients, the university said.

The Chinese government last week voiced deep concern over reports that many of Tyndalls alleged victims were foreign students from China.

Tyndall, 71, could not be reached by Reuters for comment.

However, in interviews with the Los Angeles Times he has denied wrongdoing and defended the efficacy of his medical exams.

NO ACTIVE CRIMINAL PROBE.

The university recently brought the situation to the attention of the Los Angeles County District Attorneys Office, which referred the matter on May 9 to the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate potential criminal misconduct, a spokesman for the D.A.

said in an email.

An LAPD spokesman, Tony Im, said on Tuesday police have no active criminal investigation on this matter.

Responding to the faculty letter, USC Board of Trustees Chairman John Mork said in a statement that the boards executive committee had full confidence in Nikias.

Mork called the reports surrounding Tyndall distressing.

Nikias acknowledged the facultys anger and frustration in a statement on Tuesday, and said he was committed to working with them to implement a new action plan to address the crisis and to change the culture.

Nikias came under fire last year over accusations of chronic drug abuse by a former USC medical school dean and allegations of sexual harassment by another medical school dean.

Those scandals were cited in both the faculty letter and the online petition as evidence of Nikias failures as president.

He has lost the moral authority to lead the university, the letter said.

The university administrations actions have been wrong at every turn..

The letter pointed to the fact, acknowledged by USC, that the university allowed Tyndall to quietly resign last year, following the inquiry, without reporting him to the state medical board.

The university said it initially declined to report Tyndall to the medical board because he stated his intention then to retire, but USC did report him after he sought reinstatement in March.

In hindsight, we should have made this report eight months earlier when he separated from the university, Nikias said in a letter to the campus last week.

It is true that our system failed, but it is important that you know that this claim of a cover-up is patently false, USC Provost Michael Quick said in a message posted on Monday.

Several accusers who alleged Tyndall molested them under the guise of medical treatment recounted a sense of something being wrong at the time but not fully comprehending the encounters as sexual abuse until reading about other allegations in the Los Angeles Times earlier this month.

Eight complaints reported in the early 2000s to a former health center director, who has since died, were never brought to light until they were uncovered during the course of an investigation the university opened in 2016.

That probe was launched, and Tyndall was suspended, after a staff member at the student health center came forward with reports that he had made sexually inappropriate comments to patients.

Gayle McLaughlin on a new housing policy for California - Duration: 8:58.

Hi, I'm Gayle McLaughlin, I'm the former two-term mayor of Richmond, California and a corporate free candidate for lieutenant

governor of California.

With the primaries just around the corner

I want to talk with you about an issue that keeps me and so many Californians up at night.

Housing.

There are a few things that matter more than having a roof over our heads.

It's right up there with having enough food to eat and having safe water to drink.

Yet in 21st century America and especially in our great state of California

- which is now the fifth largest economy in the world -

housing is becoming a nightmare.

California is losing our working families, our young people, our seniors, our artists.

Everyday people are being priced out of our cities because they can't afford the

skyrocketing rents. Our great state is losing the people who make it great.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Yet establishment politicians keep telling us,

"Landlords can charge whatever the market will bear."

They say,

"You can't tell people how much they can charge for rent or how much a housing developer can charge for his units!"

"This is America!"

Well, I say we can fix this problem BECAUSE this is America.

Because this is California.

This land was built on a dream, but our dreams aren't

achievable if we are struggling simply to stay where we belong.

Working people deserve the right to rent affordable homes.

We deserve it more than developers and landlords deserve windfall profits.

The time for hands-off laissez-faire "let the market do its thing" thinking is over when it comes to housing.

We've been there done that

California, it didn't work.

But today there is a powerful renters movement comprised of working families,

students, retirees,

neighbors, and friends,

taking hold across the state and I am the only candidate for lieutenant governor who stands

100% united with renters demanding affordable housing for all!

So, how are we going to do it? Well, we're going to roll up our sleeves and make a few big changes to housing

policy. As

Lieutenant Governor, I promise to use every ounce of influence

I have to level the playing field for renters in two important ways:

One, by expanding rent protections throughout our cities and, two, by building more affordable housing.

Let's start with rent protections. The fact is most cities in California don't have rent control.

But other cities HAVE passed rent control ordinances.

However, even in those cities with rent control there's a big problem.

It's called the Costa Hawkins Act.

Costa Hawkins, which passed in

1995, puts restrictions on the housing units subject to rent control

This includes - preposterously - any

structure that was built after

1995 or after a city's rent control ordinance went into effect. For

cities like San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles,

which passed rent control in the late 70s and early 80s,

it means any building built in the last four decades is

exempt from rent control!

We need to repeal this law and that's just what we're going to do.

Nearly 600,000 signatures for a ballot measure to repeal Costa Hawkins were turned in last month.

People that signed these petitions - and so many more Californians

understand that we're at a crucial moment

that can shift the tide for renters.

Repealing this unjust Costa Hawkins Act will put protections in place

for all renters in our rent controlled cities and,

on top of that,

we absolutely need to establish

Rent control laws in towns and cities that have yet to implement such laws.

Now, I'm not naive. I'm highly aware of the steep challenges cities face when they try to pass rent control.

But we passed the law in Richmond. The Richmond City Council voted to establish rent control in

2015 making us the first California city in 30 years to do so.

And when we did the realtor industry came after us with a vengeance

forcing the City Council to repeal the ordinance and put it on the ballot.

Well, we held strong and Richmond residents voted overwhelmingly

to establish rent control in

2016.

Was it easy? Nope?

But each city that passes rent control gives encouragement to other cities.

People are feeling encouraged by Richmond's leadership.

Today, more communities are fighting to keep the dream of an

affordable California in their towns and cities. They are fighting in Santa Ana, in Long Beach, in Glendale in

Inglewood, and in Pasadena. They are fighting because they know they can win.

But rent control isn't enough.

Another major focus for me as Lieutenant gGovernor will be to build more truly affordable housing.

I intend to do what previous state officials haven't had the courage to do - stand up to developers, devise

incentives, and demand that more of our state's new housing be built below market rate.

Right now too many units are not being built for our struggling working families.

They're not for that neighbor you saw loading up a u-haul yesterday.

They're not for the parents working two, three

sometimes four jobs to cover preschool and medical costs.

No, those new units are more and more being built for an exclusive group of people who can afford them.

I am pleased to endorse the new San Francisco Community Housing Act.

This act will fund municipal housing with a progressive parcel tax,

exempting owner-occupied homes making less than the median income.

The homes will be permanently owned and maintained by the city and will be overseen by a community council of

tenants elected by tenants.

This is the type of affordable housing measure we need to see statewide!

Californians, we are at a crossroads.

We can stand by and watch as the housing crisis becomes more of a nightmare.

We can shrug our shoulders and simply pay sometimes up to

60 and 70 percent of our income in rent for going other necessities

we can simply watch as the extreme inequality in our state widens and

opportunities for all but the most fortunate among us shrink, or

we can act.

We can say we've had enough of real estate developers ruling the day.

We've had enough of landlords being able to jack up rents without restrictions.

We've had enough of establishment officials being funded by

real estate

lobbyists.

A renters movement has begun and we're not turning back! As your Lieutenant Governor

I promise to fight every day to push the renters movement forward and to stand up for the right of every

Californian to an affordable home.

I promise this because I love this state and all its people.

I hope you'll join my campaign and tell everyone you know

who loves California to come out and vote in the primary

on June 5th.

Thank you very much.

California fishmonger buys 70-pound octopus to set it free

A fishmonger in central California reportedly purchased a 70-pound octopus so he could release it due to a "culmination of events" in his  own life that includes learning about new research into the intelligence of octopus.

SanLuisObispo.com reported Tuesday that Giovanni DeGarimore, the owner of Giovanni's Fish Market, said he draws the line at selling octopus at his establishment.

He told the paper that he couldn't bear the thought of this particular "beautiful" creature being cut up alive.

So when a dock manager called to inform him about a massive octopus caught in a crab trap, he forked over "a couple of hundred" and brought it back to his market.

An employee there named it Fred.

DeGarimore said he released Fred on Thursday in a safe location.

DeGarimore told the paper that his cousin once bought an octopus at a sushi restaurant and freed it.

He also recalled a time he visited Fiji and came across a "playful" octopus while scuba diving.

"Essentially, we played  a game of hid and seek for 15 minutes under the ocean," he said.

He admitted to the paper that not selling the meat may hurt his pocket, but he said it's worth the price to promote awareness.
