Auto news on Youtube May 22 2018

Are you going to warm up?

I'm still not sure what I'm going to title this.

We're going to call it entrepreneur dark mode.

So what is entrepreneur dark mode?

Basically I'm going to enter a specific mode of being

that I'm not going to leave until I have achieved a very, very difficult goals.

So the goals are:

With Nelson quest I want to get to 10,000 subscribers.

With my physical,

I want to get back to 225 pound benchpress five times,

325 pound deadlift five times,

245 pounds squats five times.

With my business,

I want to launch our new website,

which we're just getting started on.

And I also want to launch 20 videos that

I'm going to make myself,

record, really high quality, animations, text, all that kind of stuff.

With my Salsa,

I want to set a goal there as well.

Truthfully, I haven't figured out what that goal is yet

So we're going to figure that out tomorrow or the day after.

I'm going to follow a very strict schedule,

which I'll go over in a second,

I'm not going to talk to anyone.

So, I'm not going to talk to friends, not going to talk to family,

basically not going to do anything that is not directly related to the acquisition of these goals.

Nothing.

If you guys have watched my 60-minute full day video,

you know roughly my schedule.

I've made a couple of changes.

I'm just going to go over the schedule very quickly right now.

So, I'm going to wake up at about 3:30 to 4:30 a.m. naturally every day.

Do my ballistic stretches,

make my bulletproof coffee.

While the coffee is brewing, I take a freezing cold shower.

I make my bed

Come back.

Drink my coffee.

Or start drinking my coffee,

do a little meditation,

I start my first work session on the treadmill,

which is going to be very... much higher intensity.

Finish my first work session.

Depending on how I'm feeling, I may go to the gym at that point

I may do a couple of additional work sessions.

I'm going to try to get to the gym earlier,

Lately, there's just been too many people,

so I try to get to the gym around 5:30, 6 a.m.

Be done with that.

I'm not going to eat for a few hours after that,

I have reasons for that which I'll explain in other videos.

Immediately after the gym,

I actually will, most days depending on how I'm feeling,

do either sauna or do a freezing cold ice-pack,

which I ordered a big ice bath thing from...-

It should be here any day now.

We're going to fill it up with water,

I'll be able to order ice that arrives at my house roughly as I'm getting back from the gym,

and do those ice baths.

I'll eat,

so I'll do that, either sauna or ice bath.

Take a shower,

head to a cafe or a co-working space,

work for a few hours.

Then head back to my apartment, have my first meal.

I'm going to try to only have two meals per day

Have my first meal,

and get back to work,

or take a nap.

If I'm only getting six hours of sleep at night, I feel tired midday.

I'll just sleep.

I'll sleep for an hour if that's what I feel I need.

I'll sleep for 20 minutes if that's whay I feel I need.

If I don't feel like I need to sleep, I'm not going to sleep

Wake up, do more work.

Three o'clock, I have salsa.

I'm going to try to do two sessions of salsa per day.

One with Mira, she's my new professor,

we go way back.

One of my good friends for a long time,

you guys will meet her shortly.

And Jeremy, who I think you guys already know.

Finish salsa.

Do my dinner,

keep working

Once a week do a massage.

That's pretty much it.

Go to sleep at about 9:30.

Wake up,

and do everything all over again

I'm just not going to stop until I've met my goals.

Anyway, it's 11 o'clock,

I'm freaking starving, haven't eaten yet

So I'm going to head back to the house,

get some food and we'll keep talking there.

First meal of the day.

This is three eggs, one slice of cheese,

100 grams of avocado,

one tbsp of coconut oil, 1/2 a tbsp of ghee, about 75 grams of zucchini, radish...

I don't know how I'm going to calculate that in the macros,

but whatever.

They pretty much zero, all very low carb vegetables.

Time to eat.

Guys, got some more package time.

So I think what I'm going to try to do,

oh, yes.

I have to pretend like I didn't already know that this was here.

Every weekend, during dark mode

I'm going to try to go somewhere new, somewhere different.

A lot of times they'll involve getting onto an airplane.

And so I want to try to avoid the hassle of having to check my baggage every time,

so I got this.

Open this up.

So, I did a bunch of research.

This bag, this it's called an Osprey.

This is basically, like, the perfect size to

bring onto, as I carry on, onto an airplane

This also has,

I don't know where ,I'll find it later,

but like a detachable day bag,

that would sit on the front of this.

So I could basically...-

Let me try to find it.

As you can see, this thing is super heavy-duty,

so, I can strap this on if I need to.

This is basically like, the best possible bag for...-

Best possible, like, carry-on, all-purpose, sort of bag that you can find.

Okay, so check this out.

So this is actually its own backpack.

So this actually comes off of this,

So, now this is...

And this, like expands to be exactly the carry-on limits.

And then this can be a daypack..

So when I get to my location...-

So when I get to my location I can just rip this off of here,

put this on,

and I can walk around with this.

And transport my camera,

transport whatever books...

So, pretty cool.

One more package.

These are packing cubes.

I don't know if you guys are familiar with these.

I actually wasn't familiar with these until

I started looking up how I can just become much more efficient with my packing.

And so, basically, rather than just stuffing everything into a suitcase,

you can load up, so I could put, like, my underwear and my shorts in here.

Then I could put, like, socks in here.

Basically, it's just like a cube system,

that will allow me to just much better organize my stuff,

so I'm not having to search through everything to try to find something,

and, yeah...-

I'm trying to really step up my carry-on game, so....

So we're going to keep this episode really short;

I really just wanted to get the rules out for dark mode,

I'm going to spend the next couple of days,

probably the next week,

basically preparing, getting my house in order, so to speak,

so that I can enter this mode of being

and really just live there until I've accomplished my goals.

We've listened to all the feedback.

I have my own personal feedback,

I know what you guys like, what you guys don't like,

and so, another cool thing about dark mode is

it's going be a real first attempt at trying to package all of that together

into an incredible content.

I think one of the things that we've really missed more than anything right now in the content

are my own personal insights born from experience,

born from working literally every single day

for more than seven years.

And so, we have a strategy for how we're going to deploy that,

every episode is going to follow a theme.

Every day, I'm going to speak about a specific theme,

and those videos are actually going to be their own videos

Then we'll have the vlog,

the vlog stuff as well, so...-

Yeah, I hope you guys are subscribed.

I hope you guys are ready to go.

Again, I'm going to spend a few days getting prepared,

And once we start,

it's going to be just a full-out machine of what I think will be really, really high quality, authentic content.

So please like,

please subscribe,

and I'll see you guys the next episode.

Does Dark Chocolate Help Improve Your Eyesight? - Duration: 3:15.

Here's a quick one for ya.

A recent study from the Journal of the American Medical Association was looking to find means

to improve eyesight.

Yes, a topic a little out of left field considering that the primary focus of this channel is

fitness.

But it doesn't hurt to talk about other topics once in a while.

And this particular topic piqued my interest simply because of the fact that my eyesight

personally sucks and if I can improve it, then cool, it'll help me with reading more

fitness research.

What's more interesting is how the researchers intend to improve vision.

In this case, with the consumption of… chocolate.

Yes, … chocolate.

In this specific case, researchers hypothesized that eating DARK chocolate is better than

milk chocolate in improving vision.

Their reasoning: dark chocolates have more of the natural compound flavanol.

Flavanols have been linked to improved cognition, contrast sensitivity, and blood flow, which

in theory, are properties that can lead to improved retinal performance, at least in

the short-term.

The study took 30 healthy young adults in a crossover fashion and gave them either 47

grams of 72% cacao dark chocolate or 40 grams of milk chocolate.

About 2 hours later, they were given 3 visual tests:

One on high-contrast visual acuity Another on small-letter contrast sensitivity

And one on LARGE-letter contrast sensitivity Tests that we're all too familiar with when

going to the eye doctor.

What they found was that overall, dark chocolate did consistently outperform milk chocolate,

with a slightly higher score in both visual acuity and large-letter testing.

But it was in SMALL-letter contrast sensitivity where improvement was significantly higher

with dark chocolate consumption.

And this is only after 2 hours, creating an acute enhanced visual benefit.

But before you run off and clear your local store of all their dark chocolate, do understand

there are limitations to the study that questions the validity of the results.

The researchers noted that the 72% cacao dark chocolate had 316 milligrams of flavanols,

roughly 8 times more than the milk chocolate they used.

Only problem is, we don't know exactly how accurate these numbers are.

The researchers didn't measure the numbers themselves but instead relied on a secondary

website source.

If the flavanol content is actually lower, especially since different treatments of dark

chocolate can drastically reduce flavanol concentrations, then we have to wonder if

flavanols are indeed the major factor.

Plus, the subjects already had 20/20 vision, so we don't know if the benefits found will

carry over to someone with poorer eyesight like myself.

Bummer.

So, not exactly a homerun determination by any means, but the flavanol mechanisms do

somewhat make sense.

The high vascularity of the retina can benefit from the increased blood flow and nutrient

delivery from flavanols.

Now, it's important to note that science doesn't work off of just one preliminary

finding.

But, maybe the next time you eat some dark chocolate, see if something like reading becomes

easier.

If yes, awesome.

If not, then it's all good cause you still got some of that sweet, sweet chocolate.

I want to thank Examine.com for providing much of information for this video in their

own breakdown of the same study.

EastEnder Jake Wood reveals dark side of boxing 'There are big issues with mental health' - Duration: 3:47.

EastEnder Jake Wood reveals dark side of boxing 'There are big issues with mental health'

When the Eastenders star isnt causing havoc in the soap world, he leads a busy lifestyle away from the East End.

One of which, is his podcast with co-host and former boxer Spencer Oliver.

In October 2016, Jake participated in a charity boxing match at the Grange City Hotel in honour of Mike Towell, who passed away after a boxing match the month before.

By January of this year, he and Spencer had begun their boxing podcast: Pound For Pound With Jake Wood & Spencer Oliver.

The pair were there to present the award for Best Sport podcast, and have since asked the winners, Fight Disciples, to join them at Pound For Pound.

Jake explained that aside from his busy life on the Eastenders set, he does have personal time and the boxing podcast is one aspect of that.

Being able to work from home enables him to relax during filming, while continuing to do what he loves.

The soap-star said: Working from home works around mine and Spencer's schedules, but it's also good for the boxers we get on the show.

We can do phone interviews for the podcast, so it works in the best interest for everyone, especially when we have people like Tyson Fury come on. Spencer addressed the importance of mental health in the boxing industry, and the pair discussed how important it is for boxers to have the right level of support.

"People are trying to raise awareness, it's encouraging people to talk" Jake Wood He said: Tyson Fury is a classic example, he went to a really dark place and he struggled with it.

There's big issues in boxing with mental health.

It needs to be addressed, it's starting to be addressed. Jake continued: People are trying to raise awareness, it's encouraging people to talk. The focus on mental health in boxing comes after Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK.

Following a short break from filming, Jake revealed that he's signed on for another year with EastEnders, but is unaware what Max Branning's new storyline will be.
