Common Names You Didnt Know Had Dark Origins

By consciousreminder

Its safe to say that the baby naming process is one of the most stressful moments of your

entire pregnancy experience.

You spend hours scouring through dozens of baby name books, and still cant seem to

find the right one.

While the process can be excruciating, its important to take your time picking out a

name because if not, your child could end up being named after a demon.

Yes a demon.

Here, we uncovered that there are some dark meanings behind some of the most common names:

Origins.

These days, we might hear a name we like and automatically consider it as a name for our

future child without thinking twice about the meaning behind it.

The truth is, most names come from somewhere, and can have a very specific meaning.

Oftentimes, their origins are even known to be somewhat dark.

Seth.

This name is pretty common amongst males, and while it might sound pretty harmless,

it actually comes from the Egyptian name Set which also happens to be the name of a Greek

god who murdered his brother Osiris.

Yikes!

Samuel/Samael.

Another common male name, this name is often times used to describe the Grim Reaper.

According to Mom Junction: Samael, better known as the Grim Reaper, is a fallen angel.

He is the chief seducer, accuser, and destroyer.

Samael is also called the chief of the Dragons of Evil and Prince of Darkness.

Samael is both kind and cruel and was once a heavenly host.

Evil.

Often times he is confused for Satan, and some think he was actually the snake who persuaded

Eve to eat the apple from the forbidden tree.

Samuel has been depicted as an anthropomorphic goat, which seems kind of terrifying if were

being honest.

Mara.

This name is quite common amongst girls, but the name Mara is actually used to describe

the female demon who gives children nightmares.

This demon is also often associated with death and desire.

Bitter.

It means bitter in Hebrew.

Plus, Mara is a demon in Buddhism that personified evil.

She tried to seduce Gautama Buddha with the vision of beautiful women who is said to be

her daughter, reports Mom Junction.

Lilith.

A shorter version of this name could be Lily, which is also a common name amongst girls.

According to Mom Junction, the name translates to of the night in Hebrew, and is also

the name of a Mesopotamian storm demon.

Myth.

According to Hebrew myth, Lilith is the Mesopotamian storm demon and is responsible

for diseases and death.

According to Semitic culture, Adams first wife was Lilith.

But she disobeyed and left him.

Lilith is also a term for screech owl, reports Mom Junction.

Mallory.

Unfortunately, this name translates into French as the unfortunate or unlucky one. While

its origin isnt exactly evil, it can have an evil or negative connotation to it.

However, its one of the most common names used for baby girls, so its negative connotation

is clearly not deterring people from naming their kids this.

Origin.

In German, the name Mallory also means war counselor, reports Bustle.

The name comes from France however, and comes from the surname Maloret.

According to Baby Gaga, the name Mallory can also be unisex.

Tristan.

This is another common boy name, and in Latin, directly translates to full of sorrows.

Research.

So there you have it.

Before you decide on a name for your new baby, you may want to sit down and find out what

kind of meaning there is behind it.

Dark Souls statue Review - Knight of Astora, Oscar - 1/6 scale from Gecco - Duration: 6:22.

"Oh you, you no hollow, huh?" Hello everyone, I'm hericbss and today I bring you the review

of knight of astora oscar 1/6 scale statue from gecco

as you can see here this statue is presented by a beautiful and simple box

in one side we have the name of everyone who made part of making this masterpiece

followed by a great artwork from the first game and finally the other side

contains some info about the Dark Souls game franchise the NPC Oscar and the

figure itself

something interesting to note is the red sticker in the top of the box only the

first editions will come with that, indicating the one-sixth scale crystal lizard to be included

as for the statute gecko made a marvelous work every part of this statue

is covered with high quality details from the texture of the cloth the damage of

the armor and the almost rusted chainmail every aspect of this screams details

the beautiful crest shield is also represented with a mesmerizing gold paint

and scratches in the blue surface it looks as stunning as in the game the

statue is made of PVC plastic however its weight is very good and I have no

complaints it really doesn't look like plastic after all

the base of the figure is made to resemble the ground of the firelink

shinre the Greaves also have a metallic silver paint

and the bottom of the statute is hollow, with some text from the product

the astora straight sword is also perfectly replicated with some scratches

here in there I would also like to say how great the golden embroidery looks

maybe that's why it's called elite knight armor. oh those chains are made

from plastic by the way

the helm is problem my favorite aspect of this armor and this figure in nailed it

the headsculpt is absolutely perfect no flaws at all. It's kinda possible to

see something inside however it's not a full detailed face just a mold of it

the first run of the state come with a 1/6 scale replica of the famous crystal

lizard they have awesome details and have a great paint job

also take a look at those cute eyes

the crystal part for his back is made of a semi-transparent plastic with the help

of some light you can see through it

finally the statue come with a special card a trademark of gecco products the

card contains some information about the statute but not more than it

here is a size comparison with the bloodborne Hunter statute also from

gecco both have the same scale in practically the same size and honestly I

can't say who's better. That's up to you to decide

In the end, I can finally say that this statute is amazing no flaws at all and

the crystal lizard is a great addition I

would rate are five of five VERY GOOD. No problems, no flaws, simply a masterpiece

I'll leave up to you guys some pictures I've took and hope you like them. Thank you

for watching all this and don't forget to praise the Sun

The Talk - Eve Reveals 'dark period,' 'popping Xanax and drinking' - Duration: 2:28.

I have and not not in that way not in a cutting way but at a time in my life at

a point in my life I going through and like she says a dark hole I called it my

dark hole period my dark period I had and I was out of a toxic relationship I

didn't have a TV show I didn't have a record deal I was just kind of like what

is happening with my life so I started drinking mm-hmm oh I started drinking

and drinking to drink because I didn't want to deal with my emotions I didn't

have anybody to really talk to I would eat I was even popping xanax and

drinking to numb my pain and at the time while I was in it I didn't see that I

was harming myself I just felt like I was coping but I really wasn't and yes

you know you think of harming yourself as cutting or something but drinking and

drugs is exactly the same thing many ways in many ways my and I talked about

this on the show before I got a DUI and it took my DUI to wake me up because I

had to wear one of those ankle things um and I didn't want to because I knew it

would force me to deal with my my my stuff um and I did and thankfully I did

and and and was able to get healthy I prayed myself through it I you know I

finally like started figuring out the things that I needed to do to make my

mom

I understand that you know I think what I don't understand about this is when

you're going through pain and I think we've all been through pain emotional

pain why I don't understand why you would make the physical pain match your

emotional being like what you were doing it sounds to me more like numbing yeah

numbing the pain right why would you want to add more pain to that I don't

really understand that concept I know I think does anybody know when I hear I've

heard other cutters say that the cutting is like a release it's more of like it's

pain but it's also like it's something that they can control you know what I

mean it's anxiety and it's a disorder and it takes intense therapy to deal

with something like that that's oh it's all emotional it's all my

therapy a therapy is the best thing I think they're important I suggest you

have somebody to check in secondly it's not a part of your life yeah

How to Farm Dark Whelpling Battle Pet | 50k-100k - Duration: 3:21.

Hey there, guys!

This is Reckles with WTBGold and today we are farming the Dark Whelpling battle pet.

This little guy sells for about 10-30k and this isn't a new farm but it's one I haven't

seen very many people talking about even though it's super simple and easy to do.

It's a great farm.

You can do it solo or in a group so stock up on these if you don't already have a few

in your personal guild bank.

But, where are we going?

We're going out to badlands and the farming spot for this particular enemy is actually

equidistant from stormwind, ironforge, twilight highlands and karazhan so just get here however

you want to.

But there's a little corner of badlands that just has 30-40 whelps in it and you just make

a macro or /target Nyxo /cast moonfire.

We're using moonfire here.

We're doing all druids because moonfire has a 45 yard range and that makes it really easy

to hit as many of these as possible to get that force spawn rolling.

These are quest mobs so you will never run out of dragons to kill and if you spread out,

you can cover every enemy here.

As far as placement for the group farm portion of this, we had one of us on this ridge over

here, me on the middle ridge, and ford was over in this little valley over here just

running back and forth, and they have a 2 minute despawn timer so you can everyone just

go loot everything whenever they feel like it or you can, you know, call out "a minute

thirty! you have 30 seconds to go loot!"

Whatever you wanna do, however strict you wanna do.

But this is just a nice easy, relaxing farm.

Doesn't require 5 people or 7 people like some other farms do.

So let's talk about loot.

We farmed out here for 30 minutes.

I got 2 dark whelplings.

Illtree got 1.

Ford got 1.

So combined 4 in 30 minutes.

Let's say 8 an hour.

And we also got a smattering of transmog.

Nothing huge and amazing, but 1000 gold here.

5000 gold there.

In total, I think we averaged 10-20k each.

So, 30k worth of battle pets and 15k worth of mog in 30 minutes.

That's 90k an hour.

That's pretty good!

I'm happy with that.

Granted, it's battle pets and transmog, so it'll take a long time to sell, but y'all

knew that already, and if you're still watching the video, then you're fine with that.

Also, wanted to say that I've really enjoyed hanging out with y'all and doing gold farms

with this new community that's sprouted up around the channel, so if you out there don't

have a guild or friends who really enjoy gold making, I'll put a link to the discord down

in the clickety-click.

And come there.

There's almost always someone online willing to do a gold farm so just ask in general,

and we'll come join you and hang out.

But that's it for me!

Thanks for watching.

Dark And Disturbing Things You Never Knew About K-Pop - Duration: 8:34.

The foundations of K-pop music as we know it today were laid in the late '80s, when

the South Korean government loosened censorship laws in an effort to modernize, but the Korean

music wave didn't start making a splash on global shores until the 2010s, thanks in no

small part to YouTube.

According to a 2017 Bloomberg report, the worldwide K-pop industry is worth almost $5

billion, but this fame comes at a cost.

It might be all shiny and happy on the surface, but K-pop has a disturbing dark side that

artists are only now starting to expose.

Brace yourself as we take a closer look at the underbelly of this entertainment industry.

The slave contracts

If you're familiar with K-pop, chances are you've heard the term "slave contract."

Managers profiting from the talent and hard work of their artists is by no means a strictly

Korean phenomenon, but it's here that the exploitation of aspiring stars appears to

be at its most blatant.

Former JJCC member Prince Mak claims that the notorious slave contract is not only real,

it's widespread.

He said on his radio show, The Prince Mak Hour:

"Slave contracts are a long time.

Normal contracts are from 7 years to 15 years."

Prince Mak noted this means that a star who debuts at age 25 with a 15 year contract will

still be in a K-pop group when they're 40.

Even worse, according to Prince Mak, is that the contracts don't start right way.

"Your years in your contract actually start from when you debut.

So you could be training from when you're ten years, but that doesn't count."

Boot camp hell

When Spin magazine's David Bevan visited the headquarters of YG Entertainment in 2012,

the music journalist was impressed with the postmodern complex, boutique cafeteria, plush

recording studios, and on-site gym manned by a famous Korean fitness guru.

However, this was all in stark contrast to the building in which the company's 30-or-so

boot campers were actually living at the time.

According to Bevan:

"You would never guess that this is where they live [...] a squat, red-brick apartment

building whose only distinguishing mark is the grimy noodle shop tucked into its ground

floor."

Cramped living conditions and strict schedules aren't the only hardships that some K-pop

trainees are subjected to.

Ferlyn Wong, former member of female idol quintet Skarf, claimed in an interview with

The New Paper that her manager would subject her to "verbal abuse" during boot camp, telling

her that

"[She was] too opinionated […] [and would] never succeed in anything she does."

What do the parents of these young performers think of all this?

Well, many moms and dads may be at the mercy of the agencies, too.

Wong added:

"My manager told my mum off, saying she should have taught her daughter better and that her

daughter is not living the way a proper human being should."

Money woes

You could argue that all of this sacrifice is worth it when the reward is fame and fortune,

but in truth, K-pop stars rarely get the latter.

According to former JJCC member Prince Mak:

"The company usually gets 90 percent and the artist gets 10 percent.

If you're lucky then company gets 80 percent and the artist gets 20 percent.

And that's per group, Mak said, so if you're in a five-member act, you'll personally only

see only 2 percent of the cash.

From that 2 percent, the idol also has to repay the money the agency spent training

them at boot camp, and the debt just keeps growing

Worked to exhaustion

After graduating boot camp, the hours don't get any less grueling.

Being a K-pop idol is a full-time job and then some, with groups reportedly expected

to be on the clock all day, every day.

Prince Mak weighed in on the workday on his radio show.

"You could be working 20 hours, or even a whole day.

I've worked 20 hour shifts.

I'm shooting a reality or variety TV show and they went on for 20 hours.

With shifts that long, when do the stars sleep?

Not very often, for one.

"Every day we average about three to four hours sleep, apart from that it's all training

or work."

Plastic surgery pressures

Surgery is reportedly rife in K-pop, and artists will often allude to its prevalence in their

music, whether that be to subtly poke fun at it, like in Psy's "New Face," or brazenly

embrace it, like in Six Bomb's "Becoming Prettier."

It's not uncommon for idols to discuss their enhancements during interviews, but what doesn't

happen very often is an idol admitting that they were pushed into it.

But Shindong, from boy group Super Junior, did just that, saying in an interview:

"One day, the president of our agency suggested I should have double eyelid surgery because

I have an unpleasant look in my eyes, so I decided to follow his suggestion."

Solo artist Hwang Chi Yeul has also admitted to getting work done at the request of his

management, telling an interviewer:

"I didn't really have thoughts of plastic surgery, but before debut my management company

said that we should do it, so I agreed."

Strict diets

South Korean society puts a lot of emphasis on physical beauty, meaning that the more

attractive you are, the better your chances of making it in K-pop.

For idols, this means maintaining a strict diet.

According to Prince Mak:

"Our diet is always controlled.

Obviously I can't eat fried chicken every day."

The former JJCC member claims that he knew of a female idol group whose members would

be disciplined by their agency for not sticking to their prescribed weight.

Mak said:

"Could be a dance, could be running, could be no-eating.

So they'll get punished if they go over their weight, and they usually check once a week."

K-pop idols' extreme diets may also lead to eating disorders.

Artists JinE of girl group Oh My Girl, and solo singer IU have both opened up about suffering

from anorexia and bulimia, respectively, though neither girl has directly attributed their

disorder to the their jobs.

The problem

Kim Jong-hyun, the frontman of popular K-pop act SHINee, took his own life in December

2017.

In an apparent goodbye note shared by a friend, the artist spoke about the intense pressures

of life as a music idol.

"If you ask why people die, they would probably say it's because they're exhausted."

Jonghyun said in his note, translated by Metro, which was posted to Instagram by friend and

fellow idol Nine9.

The note said:

"I suffered and agonized about it [but] I never learned how to turn this pain into happiness."

The young star's note went on to say he felt

"[He was] not meant to lead a life in the public eye."

The intense media vacuum that K-pop stars get sucked into may put them at an increased

risk for ending their lives.

In 2007, solo artist U;Nee hanged herself in her home just before the release of her

third album.

In 2010, singer Choi Jin-young took his own life just 18 months after the loss of his

actress sister Choi Jin-sil.

And in 2015, Ahn So Jin was found unresponsive after being dropped by her agency.

Dangerous fans

Most idols use social media to interact with their fans around the clock.

When they leave the safety of private property, however, those interactions can quickly become

dangerous.

Members of Big Bang and Super Junior have been involved in multi-car pile ups as a result

of being chased by fans.

Kim Heechul from Super Junior even closed his Twitter account as a result.

If you're not safe on the roads, you're at least safe when you're performing, right?

Wrong.

Girls' Generation's Taeyeon found this out the hard way when a strange man got onstage

during a live performance and tried to abduct her in front of everyone.

Discrimination?

With training centers popping up everywhere from Sydney to New York City, the ever-ambitious

K-pop industry has flung its doors open to foreign talent.

Many idols speak multiple languages and are often required to perform in different languages,

with Japan proving a particularly lucrative market.

This means that foreigners entering the industry need to brush up on their language skills

fast, especially when it comes to Korean.

Chinese-Australian artist Prince Mak said:

"Korea is actually very foreign-friendly, but in the industry, it's not very foreign

friendly."

Mak isn't the only mixed-heritage idol to experience difficulties.

Some artists claim they've been racially discriminated against.

British-Korean singer Shannon was trolled after she performed the Korean national anthem

at a baseball game.

She said on the South Korean variety show My Neighbour, Charles:

"My mother is Korean, and it shouldn't matter, because I have Korean blood in me.

But they kept calling me a foreigner.

They wrote negative comments about me."

Chinese native Fei, of girl group Miss A, had a similar experience with haters.

She explained on the show:

"When I first came to Korea, someone asked me if I only take a shower once a week.

I was taken aback.

I said, 'I shower everyday.

Why?

Do you think Chinese people don't take showers?'

The person seriously thought that.

I was surprised."

How to Remove Dark Circles Naturally - 100% Results - Health tips - Duration: 6:32.

How to Remove Dark Circles Naturally - 100% Results

Nothing makes you feel tired more than looking tired, and those dark circles under the eyes are enough to make anyone feel exhausted.

Our modern, stressful lives don't help: long hours in front of the computer screen at the office are murder for your eyes, while stress and lack of sleep only add insult to injury.

Those stubborn dark circles can be a real pain, but luckily there are a few natural ways to reduce them.

Before trying anything else….

The best way to deal with dark circles under your eyes is to deal with the causes.

Try to minimize your time in front of computer or television screens, catch up on lost sleep and be sun-smart.

Avoid excessive drinking and stress, and you might notice some improvement.

You also may want to consider being tested for allergies, which can also be to blame for those dark circles.

These lifestyle changes can be quite effective at both improving your overall health and reducing dark circles under the eyes, without resorting to further treatment.

Still no luck? Try these….

1- Potatoes.

Potatoes get a pretty bad rap sometimes.

Between all that starch and the fact that they're all too often fried to a crisp, potatoes might not always be the healthiest choice diet-wise, but they can be surprisingly good for your skin.

Along with containing vitamins A and C, potatoes can also naturally lighten skin.

This makes them great for reducing dark circles under your eyes.

To try for yourself, refrigerate a few spuds, then slice them.

Use the slices just like cucumber, placing over the eyes for half an hour or so.

After a week or two, you should notice a distinct change in coloration.

2- Cucumbers.

Classic cucumber: go to any day spa, and odds are you'll be staring at a few slices for a while.

Alas, does cucumber actually do anything to reduce those dark circles under your eyes? Turns out, the answer is "yes… probably.".

Studies have found evidence to suggest cucumber juice can reduce swelling and heal damaged skin.

In fact, one study even found that cucumber might be just as good as most off-the-shelf beauty products when it comes to reducing wrinkles.

Plus, cucumber is scientifically proven to be really, really good at moisturizing, and is great for just generally making your skin look healthier.

So what are you waiting for? Grab a few slices, find a good spot for relax and let that cucumber work its magic!.

3- Cold tea bags.

This old folk remedy has been around since the dawn of time — or at least since the dawn of commercially-available tea bags.

Just refrigerate a few used tea bags, then place over the eyes.

Chamomile is the most common choice, though pretty much any tea will apparently work.

4- Milk.

Got milk? If so, then you've also got one of humanity's best sources of lactic acid, which happens to be an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA).

AHAs are commonly used in skin care products because these gentle acids are good at helping the skin retain moisture.

Obviously, applying milk to your face can be a bit messy, so the best route is to use a washcloth.

Soak the cloth in milk, then apply to those dark circles for 10 to 20 minutes every second day.

Wash off afterward.

5- Yogurt.

Like milk, natural yogurt is also good for moisturizing the skin.

Unlike milk, it's a bit easier to apply.

Just smear some yogurt over the desired area, massaging it in gently.

As you might expect, you're going to want pure, natural yogurt for this.
