South Korea and the U.S. would usually be holding joint military drills this time of

year, but they were postponed until after the Olympics.

Now the U.S. Defense Department says the details of those drills -- Key Resolve and Foal Eagle

-- will be announced next month after the Olympics are over.

In an email interview with Seoul-based Yonhap News, a Pentagon spokesperson said they were

put off to ensure the security of the Games and to lower tensions.

North Korea calls the drills a rehearsal for an invasion and sees them as justifying its

provocative behavior.

Seoul hasn't revealed anything more about this year's drills, saying the schedule will

be announced at (quote) "an appropriate time."

Canadians earn Olympic gold in ice dancing, US hockey wins|tick tock news - Duration: 4:36.

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir were golden in their final Olympic performance.

The Canadian couple took the ice one last time and produced a dramatic interpretation

of "Moulin Rouge," flawlessly executing their four-minute program that earned them the gold

medal in ice dancing on Tuesday.

Also Tuesday, the United States men's hockey team advanced to the quarterfinals with a

5-1 win over Slovakia, and Canadian skier Cassie Sharpe won gold in the women's freestyle

halfpipe.

Three more gold medals will be decided later in the day in the women's speedskating 3,000-meter

relay, the men's 10-kilometer Nordic Combined and the biathlon mixed relay.

Virtue and Moir needed their best performance after French training partners Gabriella Papadakis

and Guillaume Cizeron broke the world record with a terrific free skate.

The Canadians responded with a personal-best 122.40 points and a record 206.07 total, pushing

them just past their French rivals' overall score of 205.28.

"We didn't know we had won, that's for sure," Moir said with a laugh.

"We really committed to our training because we knew we'd have to be better than we've

ever been."

It was a triumphant final Olympics for Virtue and Moir, who also helped Canada win gold

in the team event earlier in the Pyeongchang Games.

It's their third gold overall after winning in Vancouver in 2010 and fifth total medal

after earning two silvers at the 2014 Sochi Games.

They briefly retired after Sochi, but decided a few years ago to compete in one more Olympics.

Papadakis and Cizeron — who overcame a wardrobe malfunction in the short dance on Monday — earned

the silver while American siblings Maia and Alex Shibutani won bronze after a near-flawless

free skate to "Paradise" by Coldplay.

They jumped just ahead of American teammates Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donahue, who finished

fourth.

Ryan Donato scored two goals and Troy Terry had three assists to jumpstart the Americans'

offense in their impressive hockey win over Slovakia.

The U.S. had a scary moment in the second period when Donato and goalie Ryan Zapolski

took almost simultaneous blows to the head, but both were able to stay in the game.

The Americans took advantage of the ensuing 5-on-3 power play with a quick goal that pushed

its lead to 2-0.

Zapolski stopped 21 shots in arguably his best game of the tournament.

The U.S. will play the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

"We all had to show up," Zapolski said.

"We know we have to win now to keep moving on.

I think that's something that shows how strong this team is and how resilient we are.

We had, I think, our best game today."

Donato's two goals helped him tie his father, Ted, with four in a single Olympics.

The elder Donato scored four goals in the 1992 Albertville Olympics.

Sharpe posted the top two scores of the day in the women's freestyle halfpipe, soaring

to gold with a pair of thrilling runs . She earned a 95.80 on her second set — highlighted

by a 1080-degree spin — that was the highest-ever score in the sport's brief Olympic history.

Women's freestyle halfpipe debuted at the Sochi Games four years ago.

Marie Martinod of France earned silver and Brita Sigourney of the United States won bronze.

Slovenian hockey player Ziga Jeglic became the third athlete at the Pyeongchang Games

to test positive for doping.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport said Jeglic tested positive for fenoterol in an in-competition

test.

Fenoterol is a drug designed to open the airways to the lungs.

It's the second straight international tournament from which Jeglic has been suspended.

He was banned two games at the world championships last year after swinging his skate at a Switzerland

player.

The other two athletes who have tested positive for doping are Japanese short-track speedskater

Kei Saito and Russian curler Alexander Krushelnitsky.

GM proposes to convert US $2.2 bil. debt for equity, in exchange for financial support to... - Duration: 1:55.

U.S. automaker General Motors appears to getting ready for a possible pullout from Korea.

But in a bid to keep its operations here afloat, sources with direct knowledge of the matter

say GM has offered a deal to the South Korean government in exchange for financial support

and tax benefits.

Park Soyun has the latest.

GM has proposed to the South Korean government, a two-point-two billion dollar debt-to-equity

swap for GM Korea in exchange for government support worth up to one billion U.S. dollars.

With that,... came another offer: the U.S. automaker will invest to develop new models

in Korea as part of its plan to fix its problems here.

Following a meeting with a task force headed by Korea's ruling party on Tuesday,... the

president of GM's international operations said the new models would be produced at three

GM Korea factories around the country,... and GM would eventually look to produce 500-thousand

cars annually.

The offers have been made,... but nothing has been decided,... with South Korean government

officials saying it's too early to push for any financial backing,... as it wants to conduct

due diligence before committing to any support.

The restructuring proposal comes just a week after GM announced it would shut down one

of its plants in the western port city of Gunsan by May and consider whether to continue

operations at its three other plants in Korea.

At the same time,...

GM's call for financial support from the Korean government is raising some eyebrows,... as

the company recently announced plans to invest 265 million dollars in its Kansas plant.

Critics say it's a sign GM is falling in line with President Trump's policy of putting America

and American workers first,... especially as Seoul and Washington are locked in high-stakes

negotiations over a possible amendment of their bilateral free trade agreement.

However,...

GM insists the ongoing FTA talks have not shaped any of their plans or announcements.

US, Abbas clash at UN Security Council - Duration: 1:24.

The Palestinian Authority president says the U.S. can't go it alone anymore with the peace

process between his people and the Israelis.

Mahmoud Abbas told the United Nations Security Council the U.S. has a pro-Israel bias and

should stop leading peace negotiations.

Instead, Abbas wants a new multination conference to jump-start the long-stalled peace talks

and recognize a Palestinian state.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner joined U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley to

hear Abbas' speech.

Kushner has been leading the White House's efforts to create a new Middle East peace

plan for months, but there's no firm timetable for its release just yet.

But Palestinians are skeptical of President Donald Trump's commitment to the peace process.

He decided to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel into the contested city of Jerusalem and slash

funding for a Palestinian refugee agency.

And Kushner himself has been scrutinized for the extensive financial ties between his family's

businesses and Israel.

Critics argue those connections affect Kushner's ability to be impartial in negotiations.

After Abbas spoke, he left and missed the rest of the speeches, something the Israeli

and U.S. ambassadors to the U.N. didn't like.

Even though Abbas wasn't there, Haley still addressed him during her speech, saying: "Our

negotiators are sitting right behind me, ready to talk.

But we will not chase after you."

Trey Gowdy Sets His Sights On Obama Deep State Traitor - Duration: 14:40.

Trey

Gowdy Sets His Sights On Obama Deep State Traitor

Rep. Trey Gowdy is known for refusing to hold back when perusing the facts.

There is nothing that any corrupt politician is afraid of more than being grilled by him.

And now a deep state Obama holdover is in his sights.

Rep. Gowdy plans to grill Obama's former FBI Director James Comey about the decisions

he made during the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server.

He is concerned specifically with the fact Comey chose not to charge Hillary months before

the investigation ended.

As reported by the Washington Examiner:

"REP.

TREY GOWDY PLANS TO GRILL FORMER FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY ABOUT HIS DECISION-MAKING AS PART

OF THE HOUSE OVERSIGHT AND GOVERNMENT REFORM COMMITTEE'S DECISION TO RE-EXAMINE THE INVESTIGATION

INTO HILLARY CLINTON'S PRIVATE EMAIL SERVER.

"HAVE TO, WON'T WE?"

THE SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN TOLD THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER WHEN ASKED ABOUT INTERVIEWING COMEY.

GOWDY CHAIRS THE HOUSE OVERSIGHT AND GOVERNMENT REFORM COMMITTEE, WHICH HAS OPENED A JOINT

INVESTIGATION WITH THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE IN ORDER TO REVIEW THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT'S

HANDLING OF THE POLITICALLY CHARGED INVESTIGATION.

GOWDY IS PARTICULARLY CONCERNED THAT "THE DECISION TO CHARGE OR NOT CHARGE [CLINTON]

WAS MADE BEFORE ALL THE WITNESSES WERE INTERVIEWED," BUT HE EMPHASIZED THAT THE INVESTIGATION TOPICS

ARE STRUCTURED IN A NONPARTISAN WAY.

"OF THE SIX THINGS WE LISTED WITH SPECIFICITY, THREE OF THEM ARE THINGS DEMOCRATS GAVE A

BIG DAMN ABOUT LAST FALL," SAID GOWDY.

"SO, THE QUESTION IS, DO THEY STILL?

AND THREE OF THEM ARE THINGS THAT REPUBLICANS CARED ABOUT A LOT LAST YEAR, AND THE QUESTION

IS, DO THEY STILL?"

THE COMMITTEES ANNOUNCED THE INVESTIGATION TUESDAY MORNING, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON COMEY

AND WHY THE FBI DECIDED WHAT INFORMATION TO REVEAL AND WHEN.

QUESTIONS INCLUDE WHETHER THE FBI MADE THE RIGHT DECISION TO SAY IN PUBLIC THAT CLINTON'S

TEAM WAS "EXTREMELY CARELESS" IN ITS HANDLING OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION, WHICH DEMOCRATIC

CRITICS PROTESTED WAS A BREACH OF DOJ PROTOCOL.

BUT THE COMMITTEE WILL ALSO ASK ABOUT THE PARALLEL REFUSAL TO CONFIRM DURING THE CAMPAIGN

THAT SOME OF PRESIDENT TRUMP'S CAMPAIGN ASSOCIATES FACED INVESTIGATIONS OVER THEIR

APPARENT TIES TO RUSSIA."

Former FBI Director James Comey has faced heavy criticism following these revelations.

The choice not to prosecute Hillary Clinton was infuriating to millions of Americans.

And with information coming out that Comey didn't look too deeply into the matter before

making the decision; that anger has reignited.

Trey Gowdy is expected to use the same approach that he has used during his famous Congressional

questionings, and it may just break Comey.

Comey is already under immense pressure, and stress.

As we reported last week, a lawyer in New York has challenged Comey's license to practice

law, citing his behavior during the Clinton email investigation.

Regardless how things turn out for Comey legally, his reputation will forever be tarnished due

to his conduct.

Do you think James Comey should be prosecuted for not checking all of the evidence during

the Clinton email scandal?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments

section below.

In Epic 6 2 Decision, US Supreme Court Declares Obama Violated the Constitution - Duration: 14:01.

In Epic 6-2 Decision, US Supreme Court Declares Obama Violated the Constitution

Former President Obama didn't bat an eye about America's well-being while he was

in the Oval Office.

He absolutely doesn't care about American laws nowadays.

And to top it all off, our Constitution is a nonfactor according to Barrack Obama.

This Obama guy violated the Constitution for staggering three years while he was President.

Chief Justice John Roberts declared Obama had an "end-run around" the Constitution.

The American people deserve to know the truth, even though the mainstream media will always

favor the boy wonder, Obama.

The court made a decision that Barack Hussein Obama violated the Constitution.

The decision was approved by Chief Justice John Roberts in a 6-2 opinion.

However, this did not catch anybody off guard because we all know what kind of a president

Barrack Obama was.

But Barrack Obama is one of a kind president.

Unlike every other President in the history of America, he did not step aside to let the

new president take charge.

For pretty much over a year, Barrack Obama has in place a "community organizing"

organization with 250 offices located all across the state, and over 30,000 employees

working for him in the dark.

Barrack Obama has an evil plan to interfere, and boycott Trump's government in every

action it takes.

This is pretty serious and unethical, to say the least.

This brand new leftist nonprofit organization is called OFA.

It's going to blow up anytime soon in the media and will have the same publicity as

George Soros, and Black Lives Matter.

The name OFA stands for Organizing for Action.

A lot of experts predict that Obama is working in silence behind the curtains, conspiring

against Trump with a shadow government of his own.

The New York Post wrote: "HE'S WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES TO SET UP WHAT WILL EFFECTIVELY

BE A SHADOW GOVERNMENT, TO NOT ONLY PROTECT HIS THREATENED LEGACY, BUT TO SABOTAGE THE

INCOMING ADMINISTRATION, AND ITS POPULAR "AMERICA FIRST" AGENDA."

U.S. reveals North Korea pulled out of scheduled meeting with Pence at last minute - Duration: 0:55.

Let's start with news that U.S. Vice President Mike Pence was set to meet with North Korean

officials in South Korea during his recent visit for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics,

before North Korea pulled out at the eleventh hour.

The Vice President's office told the Washington Post on Tuesday, that upon North Korea's instigation,

they had been preparing for possible talks before Pence left for Asia.

The two sides had agreed to meet at the Blue House in Seoul, on February 10th, the day

after the opening ceremony, but North Korea cancelled two hours before the set time.

Pyongyang is said to have expressed dissatisfaction with Pence's announcement of new sanctions

on the regime a few days prior, as well as his meeting with North Korean defectors and

Fred Warmbier, the father of the American student who died last year shortly after being

released from 17 months of detention in the North.

Trump says Russians 'laughing their asses off' over US collusion - Duration: 1:50.

Trump

says Russians laughing their asses off over US collusion probes

President Trump on Sunday launched a tweet storm over the investigations by the Justice

Department and others into Russia election meddling writing that they are laughing

their as off in Moscow.

If it was the GOAL of Russia to create discord, disruption and chaos within the U.S.

then, with all of the Committee Hearings, Investigations and Party hatred, they have

succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

They are laughing their as off in Moscow.

Get smart America! Trump tweeted after a

grand jury on Friday indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies for allegedly

interfering in the 2016 presidential elections.

The case was brought by Robert Mueller, special counsel for the Justice Department, who is

investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in the elections.

The federal case also argued that Russia has been interfering with U.S. elections since

Pentagon to release details of delayed S. Korea-U.S. joint drills after Olympics: Yonhap - Duration: 0:44.

Key Resolve and Foal Eagle -- usually held in late February or early March... were delayed

to ensure the security of the Games and lower tensions in the region.

North Korea has been calling the drills invasion rehearsals and perceives them as justification

for the regime's provocations.

HORRIBLE THINGS BABYSITTERS DID TO US #4 | Dolan True Stories - Duration: 12:28.

• From trying to sell the family dog to forcing siblings to make out with each other,

the Planet Dolan crew re-enact some of the best true stories from our subreddit about

the worst things a babysitter has ever done.

I'm Nixxiom and today I'll be your narrator.

Number 10 was submitted by The_Cloud_Person Pringle

When Pringle was little, he hated his babysitter.

She hated it when a child of any age cried… and Pringle had a baby sister.

One time, when his baby sister cried, the babysitter yelled at her to shut up or she

would have to go to her room.

But his baby sister continued to cry, so the babysitter dragged her to her room by one

arm.

She also hated it when she had to change diapers, and she barely even fed Pringle or his sister.

The only time she would feed them was if there were leftovers.

She also made them take naps and, if they didn't sleep, she would give Pringle and

his sister spankings that wouldn't leave behind any marks.

The babysitter even told Pringle that if he ever said anything to his parents, they wouldn't

believe him and punish him harshly for lying to them – something Dolan believed since

he was a gullible kid.

It all came to an end when Pringle's dad came home while the babysitter was screaming

and threatening Pringle and his sister with spankings for not sleeping.

She was fired on the spot, and Pringle never saw her again.

Number 9 was submitted by Firedragon_X Grgak Grgak's mom had to leave for two months

when he was 14, so she hired a babysitter who brought her fat daughter.

The babysitter was the worst – she never helped with homework, and never fed him or

the dog, which was a German Shepherd.

She even tried selling the dog for 15,000 dollars!

Though she wouldn't feed Grgak or his dog, she always remembered to feed her daughter.

She never even let Grgak call his mom.

After a month his best friend, MKyleM, and his mom noticed how malnourished he was, so

they invited him and his dog to sleep at their house.

That is when MKyleM's mom called Grgak's mom to come home, which she immediately did.

When the babysitter asked for her payment, Grgak's mom responded by suing her for 50,000

dollars.

Grgak lost 40 pounds during that time.

Number 8 was submitted by Teh_Evil_Pickle Danger Dolan

When Dolan was 4, his dad hired a really young babysitter.

A couple minutes after his parents left, the babysitter walked in and screamed, "Get

in your rooms or else!" Dolan and his brother, Zaraganba, immediately went to their rooms.

An hour later, Dolan got bored and went downstairs on a spy mission – where he saw his babysitter

butt-naked on the couch, drinking a beer.

He ran upstairs and said, "The babysitter is drinking apple juice and is naked!"

Zaraganba was shocked and started laughing, until the babysitter yelled, "I need one

of you boys now!"

Dolan hid under Zaraganba's bed, watching as the babysitter came into the room and grabbed

his brother.

Fifteen seconds later, Dolan went downstairs and saw the babysitter shoving Zaraganba's

head into her cleavage!

She kept saying, "Drink beer, or more boobies!"

Zaraganba muffled, "I'll never drink a drop of beer!" Dolan ran to the babysitter

and punched her in the face, then grabbed Zaraganba and ran upstairs to hide under the

bed.

The babysitter came in, grabbed Dolan by the leg, and yanked him out from under the bed.

She licked his ear, then whispered, "I'll love you forever."

When their parents came home, they immediately called the police.

The babysitter was arrested, and their parents never hired a babysitter again.

Number 7 was submitted by Branden166 SaltySquid

When SaltySquid was 7, he came home from school one day and found that his mom, brother, and

sister weren't there.

Just then he began to hear noises in the basement and got scared.

He grabbed an airsoft gun and went downstairs.

As soon as he got to the last step… his babysitter, brother, and sister jumped out

and scared him.

Startled, SaltySquid shot his babysitter, who got furious.

While screaming at him, the babysitter grabbed him by the ear and dragged him upstairs.

She took his airsoft gun and shot him with it.

His brother and sister told her to stop, and she did but said, "You two are right.

I should stop with the airsoft gun.

I have a better idea."

That was when she gave SaltySquid a water bottle and told him to drink some.

He did, but then his babysitter grabbed his nose and squeezed more water down his throat.

He couldn't breathe, and she took away the water bottle.

When she did, he threw up everywhere while his babysitter and sister laughed.

He grabbed a knife and yelled, "Get the fuck out!"

She said, "I wouldn't do that if I were you," then tackled him.

As she grabbed the knife and threw it across the room, his mom came home.

The babysitter began to fake cry and lied by saying SaltySquid attacked her with a knife

and that she was restraining him.

His mom wasn't buying it, and took the babysitter outside to yell at her.

His mom told her to never talk to her kids and step foot on their property again.

SaltySquid later learned that she was arrested and served six years in jail.

Number 6 was submitted by Original_Name89129 Mimi

During summer break, when Mimi was 5, her mom asked a lady who lived across the street

from them to babysit like she usually did.

The lady came over, but sat on the couch and began to drink a bottle of wine until she

got drunk… something she would normally do.

That time, Mimi asked her to stop drinking, but the lady smashed the bottle on the floor

and said, "Okay, I will you whore."

She then proceeded to poop on the floor.

Mimi was so disgusted that she was about to throw up when she heard glass shattering next

to her.

It turned out that the lady got mad at Mimi because there was poop on the floor and had

started throwing bottles at her.

Luckily, her mom came home and pepper-sprayed the babysitter, then grabbed Mimi and took

her outside where she called the cops.

Number 5 was submitted by Banjo12829 Cidius

The worst babysitter Cid ever had was his brother who was super strict.

One time, when Cid was 5, his brother asked him to play a game he made up.

Although Cid was excited, his excitement faded when his brother pulled out a hammer and said

that the game was called, "Hammer Toes."

They started playing, and Cid got scared and pulled a sheet over his head.

When his brother swung the hammer, it hit him on the nose, breaking it.

Number 4 was submitted by Victuri_is_real Hellbent

One day, Hellbent and his brother were watching anime when their babysitter came over.

She brought over some cosplays of the anime characters from Yaoi and made Hellbent and

his brother put them on.

Then, she forced them to make out in front of her!

When their mother came home, Hellbent and his brother told her what happened… but

she didn't believe them.

The next day, their babysitter came back and forced them to wear the cosplays and make

out again.

This time, their mother came home and saw what was going on.

She yelled at their babysitter and fired her.

Hellbent and his brother ended up burning the cosplays.

Number 3 was submitted by RedWolfy94 Andiemations

When she was 9, Andie and her 2-year-old sister were left in a neighbour's apartment while

their mom and grandma ran some errands.

The babysitter sat Andie in front of the TV, where she watched a magic show.

Andie was engulfed in the show when the babysitter told her something and, even though she didn't

know what the babysitter had said, nodded and agreed with her.

She continued to watch the magic show as the babysitter went into the other room.

About an hour or so later, Andie's mom burst through the door, pissed.

Apparently, Andie's 2-year-old sister had crawled out the open door, up the stairs,

and down the driveway!

Her mom and grandma ended up finding her crawling in the middle of the road.

It turned out that the babysitter told Andie to watch her sister.

She even tried to blame Andie for what had happened.

The woman was responsible for watching them yet left the door open and ignored them.

Andie's mom never left her and her sister with the woman ever again.

Number 2 was submitted by EnclaveSergeant Sweetcommando

The worst babysitter Sweetcommando ever had was a teenage girl his parents always left

him with whenever they went out.

Whenever she watched him, she made him massage her feet and file her nails.

She also made him watch very boring TV shows, then lock him in a dark closet for hours.

Then, about half an hour before his parents were due home, the babysitter would let Sweetcommando

out.

One day, he passed out from fear and didn't wake up until a few hours later.

After that, his parents fired her and got Sweetcommando

a new babysitter, who was much nicer.

US Officials Tell The World To Please Ignore Trump's Tweets - Duration: 4:23.

Donald Trump kicked off his Saturday morning this past weekend with an amazing Twitter

tirade against Obama, against the Russians kind of, against Muller, against the entire

investigation.

He was telling us that he was completely vindicated by the indictments that were handed down on

Friday against the Russian trolls.

He said that he had known that there was interference.

He never said there wasn't interference, but that it didn't help him get elected and that

this was actually somehow Barack Obama's fault, even though Mitch McConnell was the one who

refused to sign on to a bipartisan letter warning the Americans that, "Hey, the Russians

are interfering and we know about it and we have evidence."

In response to the president's unhinged tirade, American officials including national security

officials and elected Republicans and Democrats, had to tell people both publicly and privately,

"Please ignore the president's tweets."

See, what happened is that US officials overseas were having to talk to other countries about

what was going on and what these indictments were about, and when Donald Trump says this

is Obama's fault or that he's not worried about it, they had to reassure people first

and foremost, ignore what our idiot president is saying, and two, we do take this very seriously.

Trust us, something's going to get done.

Don't pay any attention to that big orange buffoon in the White House, because we're

going to make something happen, we're going to prevent this from going any further, and

we're going to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Here we have a bipartisan group of elected officials and other department heads in the

federal government having to essentially criss-cross the globe to tell people, "Look, we understand

something bad happened.

We're trying to fix it.

Please don't listen to what Donald Trump says.

The real adults are trying to handle this issue seriously."

I have to be honest here, the problem is not Donald Trump's tweets.

They are problematic, but the real problem is Donald Trump himself, because as long as

he stays in the White House, US officials are going to have to continue their apology

tour around the globe.

Whether it's for something he says at a rally, something he says to reporters, a bad photo

op where he gives a thumbs up after 17 children were murdered.

Whether it's the tweets, whether it's whatever, these people are going to have to continue

apologizing for this giant man-child that we have in the White House because he's not

professional enough, he's not mature enough to understand how to do the job of the President

of the United States.

As long as he's there, we're going to see more of these apologies.

To be honest, this isn't even the first time that we've seen US officials have to tell

the rest of the world to please ignore Donald Trump's tweets.

A few months ago the same thing happened.

They said, "Please disregard what the president is saying.

We understand the issue.

We're taking it seriously and we're working on it."

But, you can't.

As long as Trump is there, as long as he is calling the shots, and as long as he has access

to Twitter, these things are going to keep happening.

He's going to continue to diminish the United States' standing among other countries in

the world, and our elected officials can apologize all they want, but it's not going to undo

the damage that he's caused and it's not going to get these countries to immediately forgive

us and just say, "Okay, yeah, I'll ignore him.

Maybe I'll unfollow him on twitter."

That's not how it works.

Donald Trump like it or not, speaks for the United States.

Those tweets that he sends out are considered official presidential statements.

Anything he says on there can and will be used against the United States, and that is

exactly what's happening right now.

Twitter is not the problem.

The problem is the president himself.

North Korea vs United States - Updated (2018) - Military Comparison - Duration: 8:31.

A lot has happened since we last compared the militaries of the USA and North Korea.

President Donald Trump and North Korea's Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un, have been involved

in spats that are both amusing and deeply worrying at the same time.

Each leader has issued insults as well as threats.

Kim Jong Un famously called Trump a "mentally deranged U.S. dotard", while Trump later

bragged about the size of his button when compared to his nemesis' button.

It all seems quite juvenile, but we might ask how big the threat of conflict really

is.

After North Korea was accused by the U.S. of being behind the WannaCry cyber-attacks,

North Korea responded by saying this was just more American propaganda.

The quest for the truth can be quite exhausting.

Today we'll pit these two nations against each other again, in this episode of the Infographics

Show, USA vs North Korea - Updated (2018).

Notification Squad.

We all know that the USA has the largest and most expensive military in the world, but

when it comes to North Korea, the country's military arsenal and the power of its missiles

is still somewhat speculative, as it is a very secretive nation.

The USA has the largest GDP in the world, at $19.36 trillion.

The country spends more on its military than any other nation.

The financial website, The Balance, tells us that for 2018 the U.S. will spend $824.6

billion on defense, which is more than the next nine nations combined.

We are told that $574.5 billion will be spent on the base budget for the Department of Defense,

$64.6 billion on Overseas Contingency Operations, and rest on all the other departments such

as Homeland Security and the National Nuclear Security Administration.

Certain programs are also very expensive, such as the cost of 70 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters,

which will set the USA back $10.3 billion alone.

The military will also purchase a bunch of new toys, and they don't come cheap.

In 2018, some of this new equipment will be: One CVN-78 Class Aircraft Carrier for $4.6

billion, two DDG-51 Destroyers for $4.0 billion, 15 KC-46 Tanker strategic military transport

aircrafts for $3.1 billion, one B-21 Bomber for $2.0 billion, two Virginia Class Submarines

for $5.5 billion, 2,647 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles for $1.1 billion, and a further $13.2

billion will be spent on science and technology.

Most of the new equipment comes with very advanced tech, and systems these days have

vastly improved automated processes.

All of this obviously comes at a cost.

North Korea has a tiny economy in comparison.

In 2016 it was said the GDP for the country was $28.5 billion, which was 3.9 percent higher

than the year before, according to the BBC.

The same report also said that this growth rate was the fastest rate in 17 years.

What's quite shocking is how much of this GDP is spent on military, with some media

reporting it's as much as 22 percent.

It's thought that spending of late has been about $10 billion.

This obviously is more than 22 percent of the GDP we stated, although some media does

say that North Korea's GDP could be as much as $40 billion.

Much of this, of course, goes to the upkeep of a massive armed forces, but South Korean

analysts also point out that around $1-$3 billion goes to the country's nuclear program.

Still, if we put things in perspective here, the mighty supercarrier belonging to the USA,

the USS Gerald Ford, has an $8 billion price tag and that's before all the cash is spent

on research and development to get the thing working properly.

One thing North Korea does have in large numbers is people willing to fight.

While all nations use propaganda to compel their citizens to be proud and get them jacked-up

enough to risk their lives in times of conflict, North Korea has something called "Songun".

This is a military-first policy, meaning people must put the military before all other aspects

of their lives.

The same could not be said to exist in the USA, where most people have grown used to

relative freedoms and even, for some, quite a decadent lifestyle.

In North Korea, men must serve in the military for at least ten years, while women serve

for seven years.

It's estimated that about 25 million people live in the country, and 6,445,000 are military

personnel.

Most of these are paramilitary personnel.

We should also mention that numerous reports state that North Korean soldiers are depressed

and underfed.

It's difficult to say for sure, as the opinions of defectors could potentially be biased.

The USA is quite different.

From its population of nearly 326 million people (325,687,772 as of time of writing),

2,363,675 are military personnel.

Almost one million of those people are reserves.

But, as you know, the USA has quite the cache of weapons.

We won't go through all this again as not so much has changed since our last show, and

you already know what new purchases the USA is about to make.

We will say that the USA's 13,762-strong military air fleet is like no other in the

world.

As well as all those new F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, the country also owns large fleets

of other advanced aircraft.

This includes fleets of F-22 Raptors, F-15E Strike Eagles, F/A-18E/F Super Hornets and

F-16 Fighting Falcons.

We can't possibly mention the rest, but it's a bigger arsenal of military aircraft

than any other country by far.

North Korea has a lot of equipment, but it's thought much of it is old and nowhere near

as advanced as what you'll find in the U.S. air force.

It's thought the country has around 940 aircraft.

This includes 40 Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrums, 105 MiG-23 Floggers and 35 Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoots.

The Pentagon has called Pyongyang's fleet "vintage" machines.

It was reported that the country was interested in purchasing Russia's powerhouse, the Sukhoi

Su-35, but it doesn't look like that ever came to fruition.

The same goes for land artillery; North Korea has a lot, but it's very old.

The USA's aircraft would likely have easy targets, although North Korea has boasted

about all its secret underground bunkers and tunnels.

According to Global Firepower, the North Korean Army has around 6,600 tanks, 4,100 armored

fighting vehicles, 2,250 Self-Propelled Guns, 4,300 Towed-Artillery and 2,400 Multiple-Launch

Rocket Systems.

That's a lot of gear, but besides for the USA having a lot more armored fighting vehicles,

it's similar to the numbers of artillery the U.S. has.

The major difference is the technology.

North Korea's machines are largely just leftovers from days gone by, while the U.S.,

as we know, is buying new equipment and also owns some of the best tanks in the world,

including the very capable M1 Abrams tank.

It gets worse in the water for North Korea, as it's navy is arguably its weakest link.

The country has 0 Aircraft carriers, 4 frigates, 0 destroyers, 6 corvettes, 78 submarines,

528 coastal defense crafts, and 23 mine warfares.

In contrast, the U.S. is buying those new destroyers we talked about and also owns those

floating islands we call supercarriers.

What does this mean?

Well, reports tell us that the three U.S. Nimitz-class supercarriers floating around

the Asia-Pacific region is big trouble for North Korea.

The ships are there to show the "ability to rapidly consolidate joint forces in response

to a regional contingency," according to the U.S. Apparently the focus was on North

Korea.

Finally, we come to nuclear capabilities, which is possibly North Korea's strongest

asset after its large and possibly unshakable personnel force.

Along with Russia, we know that the USA has the largest cache of nuclear warheads in the

world.

This is about 9,600 in total.

If you saw our show on North Korea's missiles, you'll know the country now claims it can

hit anywhere in the world.

Analysts are not so sure, but some do think the country's Hwasong-14 missile could be

capable of reaching the USA.

It's thought the country has about 20 large nuclear warheads in total, but the problem

is launching them.

Some analysts believe this is still a big problem for North Korea.

The country also has a lot of shorter-range less powerful missiles, but those could cause

a lot of destruction closer to its borders.

Nonetheless, The Washington Post reported in 2017 that even if North Korea did fire

a missile at the USA, a $40 billion defense system would destroy it on its way.

This is called the Ground-based Midcourse Defense system, or GMD.

First the rocket carrying the missile is detected, and when that happens the GMD gets ready.

Apparently, it would take about 30 minutes for a missile to reach the U.S. from North

Korea.

While the missile is in the "midcourse phase" outside of the atmosphere, it would be intercepted,

or so the game plan goes.

Others have said such tech should come second after trying to improve the diplomatic mess

between the two countries.

Amen to that.

So, what do you think of this hypothetical matchup between the US and North Korea?

Would it totally be one-sided, or would North Korea stand a chance?
