And then, put it up, like this.

And then tuck it, the hair under your ears.

Now, tip number two, is eating healthy food.

Eating healthy food like carrots, tomato's, anything that's vegetables and protein.

Eat it because it helps you stay healthy and you can do lot's of stuff like excercise.

BAD and GOOD POINTS ABOUT JAPANESE LOLITA and ALTERNATIVE FASHION - Duration: 12:22.

The theme is Poison Garden. I matched my coordinate with it.

I think become part of the Japanese kawaii image is a good thing but...

If you like something, get it and thinking about how to wear it best makes it fun.

Hey guys and girls on Ask Japanese it's Cathy Cat and

today we have come to Brilliant Star Decorations.

Which is an event that combines fashion music and a lot of interesting things

This time all the guests are dressed up to the nines as well.

This time we will go and ask the Japanese people

What is hard about wearing Japanese fashion

and what is good about wearing Japanese fashion.

Let's go and Ask Japanese.

We always dress twin style.

We wear Baby the Stars shine bright, Tripple Fortune, Alice and the Pirates

and Angelic Pretty and match it.

And then we make our headdress ourselves.

Who of you makes them?

We made them.

Did you sit together to make them together?

We do it ourselves but check we got the right colors and such.

And then match.

What's tough and fun about Lolita fashion?

Just wearing this, you feel so excited.

Watching others is exciting too and makes me happy.

What's tough, especially today is the heat.

That's tough.

What's great are all those events where you can make friends.

And we can all become...

become part of the Japanese kawaii image is a good thing but...

what's tough are the judgemental looks of those normal dressed people.

Getting used to that is tough maybe.

But once you get over that, then you don't have to worry about it anymore.

And then you can go out like this wherever you want.

Even on the airplane.

I am wearing Sweet Lolita.

This is a dress from the Fancy Hospital release.

What's good and tough about your current style?

Well what's good about it...

This fashion lets me express myself in the best way.

But what was tough is this handmade bag.

This one here? - Yes.

It contains sweets?

It's a medicine box that contains sweets.

How long did that take you to make?

Over a week.

That took some effort! But it looks super cute.

Thanks so much.

What do you like about your current dress?

I like this medicine print on the dress.

I like nurse style things and collect them too.

This is all handmade stuff so.

I bought a cutter and cut it by myself.

That's how I made it.

Same for this tiara here.

I prefer and love foreign cultures.

I mixed that with Japanese "magical girl" themes.

A mix with kawaii culture.

I mixed the wizard theme from abroad the the magical girl theme from Japan

What's good and tough about your fashion style.

Since you make it yourself...

Making these things is tough but creating something from your mind

is really fun.

The hardest part is making it.

The rest is just fun.

The theme is Poison Garden. I matched my coordinate with it.

You have many items in here. Could you explain?

What?

These bones are a handmade item from a store.

The clothes are from a brand called Kikirara shouten.

The accessories are from the Pure Black Lab over there.

What's fun and hard about your style today?

What's good is the amount of fabric and since it's unique

nobody else will wear the same.

But what's tough is...

Because it's so long it can get tangled or hot.

The theme of this event is poison garden.

I thought of what poison meant to me and created this coordinate.

The fashion contest we are in, is themed around the Poison Garden theme

I created a head decoration with poisonous flowers.

And since it's a garden I added some green to it too.

What's good and bad about your style?

What's fun is to see how close to the theme you can make a coordinate

But what's hard is the same. How to manage to connect it to the theme.

I think it's good that we have a theme where everyone can try to dress like.

Bad point is that mine might be falling off soon.

Please explain your style today.

This dress is from the Brand Tripple Fortune.

???

I also added a special petticoat from Triple fortune underneath.

I tried to make it as poisonous as possible for the theme.

The apron and the attachable collar...

???

This one is from Pastel Parade.

???

They are very poisonous and have a weird wonderland theme to them.

That's how I coordinated them.

I added an Abilletage corset to the Tripple Fortune skirt.

The headdress is from Osaka

???

Since you are all wearing Lolita fashion, what do you like about it

and what makes wearing this tough?

Well the good thing

You can wear freely what you like wearing.

You can wear the clothes you like the way you like to wear them.

That's number one for me.

What's hard?

Summer is boiling.

Good is that we can wear what we love the way we like it.

And being able to go to events like this with everyone.

If you like something, get it and thinking about how to wear it best makes it fun.

And what's hard is...

Dry cleaning is expensive. But washing it yourself you might get

color runs and then it's a real drama.

Making coordinates is definitely fun.

But bad is that this corset is making my back hurt.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I am a Walolita (Japanese lolita) Goth.

I am...

I am probably more of a pure Gothic Lolita.

Black Lolita or Gothic Lolita.

What's good and tough about your current style?

I like kimono sleeves. Being able to wear that with lolita fashion is great.

But what's hard is..

It's hot...

That makes it pretty tough in summer.

It's so hot it makes you want to NOT wear it.

You can be true to yourself and wear what you like.

But what's tough is...

Wearing a petticoat like this...

with so much volume, you get looked at.

I might be causing a nuisance to people.

Can you explain to the camera what style you are wearing today?

I would say this is over the top sweet OTT sweet

I am wearing Angelic Pretty for the most part and...

This is a Triple Fortune bonnet. I fell in love with bonnets.

That's part of the reason why I love Japanese lolita fashion.

And how about you?

I would say I am... mature.

Going for a more mature look because of the long piece mature dress.

I would say classic?

Yeah classic. More classic.

What's good and what's tough about those styles you are wearing today?

Lace, the frills, everything is good.

What's tough? I think...

Nothing really. Was just packing it here. I love dressing like this.

So I am very happy.

Well to be very honest...

My wig is pinching my head.

I would say that would be the tough part.

But everything else... I feel beautiful.

Definitely.

Could you explain what kind of style you are wearing? What kind of print?

I am wearing Angelic Pretty's Sweet Girl Room, I just found it second hand

It's sweet Lolita but just in a lot of black.

This is Angelic Pretty's Misty Sky.

And this is Angelic Pretty's sweet cream house.

I have had those both for a couple of years now.

Just some extra stuff I had along.

What do you think is hard about wearing Lolita fashion?

Right now the hardest thing is the heat.

Definitely that. We are from Wisconsin so it's definitely less humid and hot.

What do you think is good about wearing Lolita fashion?

Seeing other lolitas. Being a part of something.

Feeling really but together and fancy. I love it.

You are wearing it for the first time. What's good and what's hard?

Pretty much what she said. I am not a fan of...

the elastic on this, it's not very comfortable.

But I feel like a cupcake so for the most part its very good.

The heat is a downside but I feel very cute. I feel good.

Thank you so much. Thank you.

So more good and bad facts about Lolita fashion and Japanese fashion.

It depends on where you live and how freely you can wear it.

In Europe you can wear it less freely that you could in Japan.

But another point is, no matter which country you are from...

the price is often a big problem because Lolita and Japanese fashion CAN

be quite expensive unless you make it yourself or get it second hand.

It's hot in summer, that's why many lolitas don't wear it in summer.

I try to wear it and that's why the chiffon comes in.

Another point about Lolita fashion is obviously

you do stand out for good and for bad.

Sometimes for shy people its a little bit hard to get into it.

Because you stand out people will take pictures of you without asking

In those situations its nice to create a community or group

that you can join in to enjoy the fashion freely.

You saw lots of free minded spirits in this video.

Be sure to leave a nice comment about what your favorite style was.

Catch you soon on Ask Japanese.
