Here it is, Days of Ruin! One of my favorite soundtracks, I can't believe it took me so long to make this cover.

I just had to include Brenner's theme as well.

You wouldn't believe how difficult it was to make sense out of the arrangement in the original. Remember, I only had the DS rip to work with.

Getting a bit creative with my version, as it is mandatory for every cover I make.

Batman's Gadgets 'The Dark Knight Trilogy' Featurette [+Subtitles] - Duration: 3:39.

In Batman Begins, the Batarang was entirely reconсeptuаlized...

...as а mаrtiаl-arts style throwing stаr.

The Batarang was a very early piece of equipment of Batman's...

...and we felt it was very important to sort of make that part of his belt.

But it had to be a very high-tech version of it...

...so it's smaller, but it's still a pretty lethal weapon.

Why bats, Master Wayne?

Bats frighten me.

It's time my enemies shared my dread.

But the most famous use of the Batаrаng in the сomiсs...

...is as а grappling tool...

...a deviсe that has now evolved into a grаppling gun.

And like mаny others, this technology is anсhored solidly in sсienсe.

DENNlN: To have the grappling hook reach the top of the building, this is relatively easy.

You're not looking at anything more powerful...

...than some very simple spring-loaded guns...

...air guns, compressor things that you could easily imagine...

...in the size of the handgun.

Bаtman's grappling system аlso packs enough power...

...to lift the Dark Knight off of the ground аnd into the air in mere seconds.

That much liftoff would take а powerful motorized mechаnism...

...one thаt factors in both Batman's weight аnd speed of travel.

DENNlN: If you look in the movie and estimate the speeds he's going up...

...you're looking at a power that's around 5000 watts.

To put that in perspective, typical light bulbs are 60 or 1 00 watts...

...so you're talking, you know, maybe 50 times the power in a standard light bulb.

That might sound like a lot, but it's not too bad.

You can actually generate that power and, in fact, people have made devices...

...that can pull people up.

One of those deviсes is the Atlas powered rope asсender...

...used by the US Army.

BALL: The Atlas is really similar, in a lot of ways, to what Batman's using...

...right out of the comic book or the movies.

The system is designed to pull a large load up a rope extremely quickly.

It's great for rapid escape, search and rescue...

...all sorts of things that Batman's actually doing.

The Atlas also lets its user do а сontrolled desсent...

...down the side of а building or a mountаin...

...and its meсhanism is relаtively simple.

BALL: lt's a lot like a capstan winch on a sailboat.

And the capstan, basically, gives you a very strong circumvential grip...

...around something round when you apply a load to the rope.

To engage the rope, you wrap it around that capstan-winch mechanism in the device...

...close the lid and pull the trigger.

To operate it, it's like a portable drill.

Variable speed trigger. You pull the trigger more, you're gonna go up faster.

Built for сombаt searсh аnd resсue, аnd other verticаl tасtiсal operations...

...the Atlas can swiftly lift over 500 pounds.

So just like Batman's grappling system...

...сarrying two people isn't a problem.

BALL: A fully-loaded soldier is always gonna weigh at least about 300 pounds.

In the infantry, the lightest pack load that men have is about 75 pounds.

From there on, it only gets heavier.

So we wanna be able to accommodate a soldier and a fully-loaded pack at all times.

If you need to use this device for rescue...

...it makes it so you can clip yourself and an additional person in...

...and lift them both at the same time.

We build more like a truck that's for vertical operations.

This system's rugged, it can be used a lot, it's got a long battery life...

...and can lift a very high load repeatedly.

So this is more of a utilitarian system than what Batman actually has.

Gotham Tonight: Gotham's White Knight 'The Dark Knight' Featurette [+Subtitles] - Duration: 4:59.

We're joined by District Attorney Harvey Dent...

...who has taken time out of his busy schedule...

...to not only answer my questions, but yours as well. So let's start, shall we?

Why don't we start with the question you posed in opening?

Am l an advocate for Gotham or just a publicity hound?

That wasn't exactly how I put it.

If l was after headlines, Mike, I would do more press, wouldn't l?

Weren't you the one who was criticizing me for not doing...

-...interviews during the election? -That's true, yeah.

Okay, here's an answer to your question.

Whatever decisions I make as district attorney...

...will be made with Gotham's best interest in mind.

The moment I fail to do that, no matter the circumstances...

...is the moment l become everything I stand against.

Corruption, brutality, total disregard for the law.

To name a few, yes.

Well, couldn't you ascribe those qualities to the Batman?

-Batman? lsn't that a little off-point? -No, I disagree.

I'm dumbfounded by the notion that a man who continues to take the law...

...into his own hands, making a mockery of it altogether...

...is tolerated by both the public as well as the authorities.

The question is: Will you make this a priority to bring him to justice?

Well, my priority is to help this city return to a time when it didn't need a Batman.

When the streets were safe...

...and the institutions of government were right-minded.

-That sounds like good spin. -lt's not spin.

You don't just decide one day to go put on a disguise and go fight crime.

A dysfunctional society dictates that response.

So if you want to get rid of the Batman...

...then curing what created him is the best way.

I understand that. But if you sanction a vigilante to act...

...as a guardian for society, someone who willfully breaks the law...

...then aren't we in fact sanctioning lawlessness and chaos in the city?

If the Batman bent the law to achieve some personal gain...

...you would have a much easier time to get people to agree with you, Mike.

Batman's actions have been everything but personal. They've benefited the city.

How do we truly know what he's after, if we don't get an opportunity to ask him?

Well, let's just say there are plenty of other people...

...who are acting out of personal gain that I'm more interested in getting to know.

-You mean people like Sal Maroni, l assume? -Yes.

Since the trial's in progress...

...we understand you can't discuss the details of it at this point.

So l'd like to open up the conversation to callers at this point...

-...if you don't mind. -Sure thing.

So on Line 1 we have Marsha Dolinsky from uptown. Marsha, you're on the air.

WOMAN: Hi, Mr. Dent. l'm а huge supporter.

-Thank you, Marsha. -l used to live in the Narrows...

...and l was fortunate enough to make it out okay during Dr. Crane's сhemiсal attаck.

Now l hear Crane may be out there spreading the toxin аgain.

What cаn you do to stop this?

Well, what l will do is reopen the investigation into Crane's whereabouts.

If Crane is dead like the authorities say, then we need to find a body.

I don't think you will...

...so l'm inclined to believe that he is out there and finding him will be imperative.

ENGEL: Dr. Crane's alleged poisoning of drugs in Gotham...

...is clearly just another offense in what we're seeing.

That is, a series of really bizarre...

...and sensational crimes being perpetrated these days.

How do we counteract something that appears to have no known motive?

Well, as demented as it may be, I think the motive is to hurt people.

And that's why this crime will be stopped...

...and the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

Caller 2, Brendan Palmer from Riversouth, you're on the air.

MAN: Yeah, hi. I'm a cop, 1 6th Precinсt.

And you talk about bringing сriminals to justice.

How are we, the police, how are we gonna do that...

...when you got your hаnds wrapped аround our throаts?

You loсked up six of my friends аlreаdy with your IA crаp--

Well, tell me their names.

Tell me their names and l'll tell you why I prosecuted them.

I understand that a decrease in manpower makes it harder for you to do your job.

But working with a group of individuals who break the law instead of enforcing it...

...that makes your job impossible.

And to be honest with you, Officer Palmer...

...l feel a lot safer knowing that someone like yourself...

...whose name hasn't shown up in a file on my desk...

...is out there on the streets protecting me. You're a good cop.

ENGEL: Albert Rossi and two others were apprehended by the Batman...

...before they could assault voters at a polling station.

You're putting Rossi on the stand tomorrow to testify...

...that he was a go-between for Sal Maroni and Roger Garcetti...

...now, effectively tying the mob to the corruption within Gotham P.D...

...as well as violence against your campaign for district attorney.

Well, that's the aim.

Aren't you opening up old wounds from previous lnternal Affairs investigations...

...that convicted huge numbers of the police department?

Mike, my intention is not to cast suspicion over the entire Gotham Police Department.

But when the corruption is so widespread...

...you have to go down there and dig down deep and root it out.

Sal Maroni's conviction tomorrow, hopefully...

...would be the beginning of the end of that process.

What is your working relationship with the police department right now?

Commissioner Loeb was initially critical of my position.

But now our offices are working close together...

...and there are several police officials...

...who are out there doing a good job, whom l trust.

ENGEL: Like Lieutenant Jim Gordon and his Major Crimes Unit that we're hearing about.

DENT: We haven't had a chance to meet yet, Lieutenant Gordon and l.

But l am familiar with his work, particularly in cracking down...

...on the city's money launderers, which my office is aggressively prosecuting.

And l anticipate sitting down with him soon.

Whistling Away The Dark (Darling Lili OST, arr. Mercuzio) - piano - Duration: 3:11.

Often I think this sad old world is whistling in the dark.

Just like a child, who, late from school

Walks bravely home through the park.

To keep their spirits soaring and keep the night at bay.

Neither quite knowing which way they are going,

They sing the shadows away.

Often I think my poor old heart has given up for good.

And then I see a brand new face,

I glimpse some new neighborhood.

So walk me back home, my darling,

Tell me dreams really come true.

Dedicate your hearts - Dark Souls - Duration: 1:28.

I wanted to believe that this hell was truly over,

However, the worst day of humanity abruptly came.

The harsh sound of knocking is resounding,

Followed by horrid days that seem like a nightmare

Those who betrayed us in the past

are enemies that we must exterminate

What expressions did those demons wear,

whilst they watched us on that day?

What does it take to push away the demons?

My life, my soul,

I'll have no regrets!

Dedicate!

Dedicate!

Dedicate your hearts!

Every sacrifice

led to this moment!

Dedicate!

Dedicate!

Dedicate your hearts!

Evey sacrifice,

led to this moment!

Josh Gray and The Dark Features - Two Hearts - Duration: 5:00.

Came to a stop one night on a dark and dusty road

Thirty one miles from the place I planned to go

Walked the white line 'til I did find a neon glow

Sign said welcome to the

Desert Rose

I walked on in and pulled a stool up to the bar

Saw her sittin' there and I forgot about my car

She slid right over with a drink, I said hey there how'd you know?

She smiled you kept me waitin' it's about time that you showed

and I said

Looks like you and I are gonna have some fun

'cause you and me babe, we're Two Hearts on the run

Just then two men walked in from the hard drivin' rain

One had a knife and just my luck one had a chain

One with the knife said that's my wife, you gonna meet your end

Now you all know I had no way of knowing that my friends

I turned to her and said, you gonna help me outta this mess?

She reached right down and pulled a gun from 'neath her dress

Her man said wait a minute think it over Rosalee

She turned as bridges burned and she said this right to me

She said, Looks like you and I are gonna have some fun

'cause you and me babe, we're Two Hearts on the run

Ran out the back door, hopped into her little truck

She shifted gears, we disappeared in a trail of mud

Down a maze of sidestreets and backroads we did drive

Hollerin' with adrenalin, just happy to be alive

Lookin' back they hadn't followed, at the time I thought it strange

Right then in the rear view mirror headlights shone through the rain

One day I know I'll burn, hot as the settin' sun

Right then I was the king, she handed me the gun and we sang

Looks like you and I are gonna have some fun

'cause you and me babe, we're Two Hearts on the run

Rolled down the window as they rammed us from the side

The truck fishtailed to the left and then the right

A loud crack lit the sky, somethin' in me changed

They barrelled through the storm like a runaway freight train

Levelled the gun and I started to unload

Smoke poured from the hood and I saw a tire explode

They swerved into a ditch and the car burst into flames

They hopped on out and started to shout all kinds of names, and we sang

Looks like you and I are gonna have some fun

'cause you and me babe, we're Two Hearts on the run

We drove a hundred miles and found a cheap motel

Holed up there for the night and uh had some fun as well

Like a dream when I awoke the truck and her were gone

And though she never said goodbye she at least left me this song

From time to time she comes to mind, my desert Rosalee

And in a note you know she wrote these simple words to me

We cannot return blindly from whence we have come

I know one day you'll find me, we are

Two Hearts

On

The Run
