Classic Beef Stew step-by-step Recipe - Duration: 5:27.check it out a super-duper hearty and
delicious beef stew very easy to make a
chef buck classic dish let's go back in
time shall we
but anyway check the recipe out I got up
in a stew mood this morning you know I
haven't made it in a long time and it's
super easy to do you know we're just
gonna get one large bell pepper a green
pepper and we're gonna die set up into
little chunky chunks you know about the
size of Chiclets and then we're gonna go
ahead and cut up one large onion with a
slice that so we already got some dice
in the slice and you want different
sizes in your stew makes your stew more
interesting celery you know if you want
to I'm just cleaning out of the fridge
but carrot I always put in there some
nice big chunks of carrot tada see and
then some garlic you know go ahead and
get your aggression out you know pound
you some garlic you don't get the skin
off there and then we're gonna slice it
up you know do 2 or 3 or 4 cloves of
garlic and that's gonna add some nice
flavor and then potatoes look at this
magic that's see how easy that is
that's easy peasy lemon squeezy mmm and
now we're going to use one-and-a-half
pounds I'm lean stewed beef seasoned it
up with a little salt and black pepper
you know get that seasoning mixed up
there and then we're gonna add a little
bit of all-purpose flour I'm throwing
1/4 cup in here but you know we're gonna
use whatever sticks to the meat that's
all so give it a good toss get your ass
to me coated up with flour and then
that's all that's gonna go in the stew
is whatever sticks to the meat so he
just stewpot up 3 tablespoons of oil on
medium high heat and then when you put
your meat in there it should start to
sear and sizzle right away you know
because you want your pot to be that hot
go ahead and make sure to spread it out
on the bottom then we'll leave it alone
and let let it sear and then you know
after a few minutes we'll go ahead and
turn it over and sear the other sides of
this meat you know kind of get it cooked
up around the edges and then we'll go
ahead and pour it out of the pot and let
your your meat kind of be xpect ater
there for a few minutes and while your
pot still hot we're gonna go ahead and
throw our onions in here follow it with
the table
spoon of butter you know stir that
around get that butter starting to melt
you know and while your meat sits off to
the side here
you know just relaxing we're gonna go
ahead and take about ten minutes to cook
up our onions and our garlic and our
bell peppers you know we're just gonna
let them sweat start to cook down a
little bit get a little bit of color on
you know soften up get it ready for the
spices and I don't go too crazy with the
spices you know I like my my stew to be
just kind of thick gravy mild hearty
kind of stupid but I am gonna put a
little bit of coriander in here a little
bit of cumin you know if you want it to
you put some chili powder you can go
it's heavy on the spices as you want but
you know I like the meaty greatness of
this dish to come through so we're gonna
throw the meat back into the mix you
know stir it up without all that hung
any spicy goodness and then we're gonna
add one can of diced tomatoes stir that
around and then we're gonna let these
ingredients bubble away for about five
minutes before we introduce our broth
and I'm gonna put one can of broth in
here 14 ounce can but you can put in two
cups if you want you know we're gonna
add a little more liquid later on throw
you a bay leaf in there your carrots
your celery if you're so inclined and
then we're gonna raise the temperature
you know we're gonna throw a lid on here
bring this pot up to a boil and then
we're gonna reduce the temperature down
to a simmer and cover it up again and
let this stew cook away simmer away for
about a half-hour and now when you take
your lid off your stew should be
starting to look awful Stewie you know
starting to get that kind of gravy look
to it smelling pretty damn good
you know and it's tater time time to
throw your big hunks and chunks of
potato in there and you know make sure
you got them cut up into some good sizes
because you don't want them to cook down
to nothing you know how do you some
water as needed I'm putting a half a can
in here not a lot just enough to cover
your ingredients up then we're gonna
throw the lid back on there and let this
pot simmer away for another 45 or 50
minutes
and then when the next time you pull
your lid off boom you should be good to
go you know look how awesome that looks
you know rich gravy delicious man that
there will stick to your ribs boom put
your spoon in there give it a taste test
you know see if you need any more
seasonings or not you know and if it
meets your standards then go ahead and
get it off the heat let it cool down to
a non-lethal temperature you know you
don't want to cook a big old pot of
stewed and then fry your taste buds on
that first bite you know so let it cool
down exercise some patience gonna let
pick it up a little bit you know it's
gonna be rich thick gravy stew man this
is ice you know just watch out for the
random stew things you know a few videos
back that somebody was commenting you
know about you guys I've been cooking so
much with plantains and rutabagas and
not using enough potatoes not enough
meat potatoes well here's meat and
potatoes man these two definitely give
it a go great recipe I have a written

Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole ~ Retro Recipe ~ Noreen's Kitchen - Duration: 10:03.Hi everyone, welcome back to the kitchen and today we're gonna remake an old favorite. We're gonna revisit tuna noodle casserole
I had actually this is our third
go-around with this recipe
Because I have literally made it I think four times on this channel and it has just stood the test of time
But the last incarnation was not great quality not great sound quality
And I was a little bit in need of an attitude adjustment
So we're gonna go ahead and remake this today and I cannot wait to share how this all comes together
We're gonna remake the tuna casserole video today and that is because the last video that was posted of tuna casserole was made in
2012 I think and
It's old and the quality isn't that great? The sound is definitely lacking and I was kind of a little ugly in that video
So I'm gonna remake it because we don't need to put that negative attitude out there
So we're gonna go ahead and redo it today and I hope that you'll enjoy
So this is my classic tuna. Noodle casserole. It is a very huge throwback. This is definitely a
Retro recipe if there ever was one
Tuna casserole is something we always had
Growing up, but my mom's version is very different from this one
and this one is actually from my ex-husband's mother and
It is superior to my own mother's tuna casserole by a long shot
So what you're gonna start with is one
Regular size bag of extra white egg noodles. I have already boiled them and they're ready to go
We're gonna do an 8 ounce can of sliced mushrooms
For 5 ounce cans of albacore. Tuna that
You leave the juice in you're gonna use everything, you know, don't drain it
I have one regular sized can of cream of celery soup
One regular sized can of cream of mushroom soup and about a cup of chopped black olives
Now you're gonna look at that and go. Oh those olives don't look black. They kind of look Brown and that would be correct
these are the kind of olives that I have really been enjoying lately and
And that is because they don't use chemicals to make them
Black they don't use artificial anything. These are ripen on the vine or on the tree
they're hand-picked and then they're processed and brined and they're delicious and
You can find these in the aisle where they sell the pickles at your grocery store
That's all that's in this casserole and it's super delicious. So really we're just gonna get started by mixing everything up
I like to use the pot I boil the noodles in because that saves a mixture of dirty Bowl
Just go ahead and put your cream of soup in the pot now look
You guys know that you are not going to see me use cream of soups
very often that are right out of a can this is
One of the exceptions there are a couple. I just don't like them. I don't use them very often
There is another recipe I use a can of cream soup in
That we like a lot as a family and I'll have to share that with you one of these days
I think you'll enjoy it. It's just like an herbed chicken and you make it on the top of the stove in a skillet. So
We're gonna go ahead and pop in all
Of this stuff. I like to mix up the sauce
First and then
Vlad knows
Awesome
Mix this up
And you don't have to flake the tuna a whole lot
Just break it up a little sometimes those nice big chunks are a wonderful bite
When you bake up the casserole now, I have my oven preheating at 350. This is just gonna stay in there for
About a half an hour until it's nice and bubbly. This is super simple. This is like basic home Eckford
This is what you're gonna learn how to make in home economics class
And I have four cups of chair cheese here and we're gonna use half of it in the sauce. I
Do not put peas in mind because they know P is going in my tuna casserole
You absolutely can if you want that's up to you
My mom never put peas in hers and David's mom never put peas in hers either so
All right. So now as you can imagine the next step is to put this
The noodles in here and give everything a good toss now
Here is where you may or may not wish to add some milk and I think I'm gonna do that
Get this a good toss
And I'm gonna have that milk I have poured myself about a cup of milk
If you like your tuna casserole a little saucy, err then I have made mine today
Feel free to add an extra can of cream of soup either the mushroom or the celery or both if you like
It's up to you. This is how we like it. I don't like it to be like runny when we spoon into it
But if you like yours that way, you should totally make yours the way you love it
Alright, I'm going to tip this into our casserole dish
Often I will use a foil pan to do this just because it's easy and this is a really great
Casserole to take to a potluck. It's a great casserole to share with a family in need and
they're quick to put together and
You can make this in advance and freeze
It if you want to do that
What you're gonna do now is just top this with cheese and then you're gonna wrap it and put it in the freezer
If you're gonna do that
I would recommend putting this in a foil pan because just makes everything so much easier
Then just take the rest of your cheese and sprinkle it over the top
I like to make sure the cheese is as even as possible
It's gonna melt so it's not like imperative that it completely cover the entirety of the casserole
So don't worry about that too much. Just just make sure it's as even as possible
we're gonna pop this in a 350 degree oven for about
25 to 30 minutes or until it's bubbly and you might see a little brownness on the top
the cheese is all melted and beautiful and then we're gonna take it out of the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes at
Which time we will return and I will fix you a plate of this
delicious
throwback retro classic tuna noodle casserole
There you have it
Classic retro tuna noodle casserole. This will take it right back to your kitchen table on
1975
This is to me one of the best tuna
Noodle casserole is I have come across and as a side note, like I said
this is my ex-mother-in-law stress opee and it is just that good my mom used to make tuna casserole a very
Different way she would use a box of macaroni and cheese
She would cook it up and make it according to the box add a can of tuna some black olives and some mushrooms
Put it in a casserole dish with crushed potato chips on top and you could do that here, too
And it would be amazing
but it wasn't the best it wasn't the worst and we all liked it because that's all we knew when I married my
Ex-husband and he said that's not tuna casserole when I made it for him the first time
He told me how his mom made it and that is how I've made it ever since
Do you wanna taste it even though you know how good it is already?
we always heat this with
stewed tomatoes and green beans and this is like the most ultimate
Pantry meal you could ever ever come up with
Because literally everything comes out of your pantry except for a little bit of milk a bag of noodles
2 cans of soup a can of mushrooms a can of black olives
Well, there's some cheese and some milk in here, but that's all good
And even the side dish is a can of green beans
this is the only time I use canned green beans and a can of stewed tomatoes and
This is just our favorite way to enjoy tuna casserole the the tomatoes and the green beans really add a lovely
Acidic note to this meal. There you go, babe
We only have this a couple times a year, but this will last us for two dinners
So if you're a smaller family or maybe a couple you might want to put this in two containers
I often will you know put this in two separate containers freeze one cook one and then have it ready
There's always better fresh, but it's not bad leftover. So keep that in mind. I hope you enjoyed today's
revisit of this
Retro classic tuna noodle casserole and I hope that you'll give me a thumbs up if you're new to my kitchen welcome

Stevie Wonder Performs 'The Lord's Prayer' and His '70s Classic 'As' to Close Out Aretha Franklin's - Duration: 5:22.Stevie Wonder lifted Aretha Franklin's family, friends and fans' emotions as he played a religious hymn during the last performance at her funeral
The "Isn't She Lovely" singer, 68, took to the stage just before the recessional to perform an instrumental version of "The Lord's Prayer" on harmonica to pay tribute to the Queen of Soul during her star-studded memorial service at the Greater Grace Temple in her native Detroit on Friday
Afterwards, he delivered a short prayer remembering his late friend. "Without God's goodness and greatness, we would have never known the Queen of Soul
We would have never known the joy that she brought to us, we'd have never known someone who could express in song the pain that we felt
And yes, the reason that we are here today is because of love, because of how much we love this woman
" Throughout his brief speech, Wonder stressed the importance — and bemoaned the lack of — love prevalent in our society
"Please remember the greatest gift that we've been given in life itself is love. Yes, we can talk about all the things that are wrong, and there are many
But the only thing that can deliver us is love. What needs to happen today, not only in this nation but also throughout the world, is that we need to make love great again, because black lives do matter, because all lives do matter, and if we love God, then we know truly that it is our love that will make all things matter
" He then seated himself at an electric piano to begin "As," a track featured on his landmark 1976 double-album Songs in the Key of Life
"I want to sing a song to Aretha that I know we all feel and I know we all want to express
" Franklin died on Aug. 16 after battling pancreatic cancer of the neuroendocrine type; she was 76
In the days leading up to her death, Wonder was one of few who had the opportunity to visit an ailing Franklin's bedside at her home in Detroit, her longtime publicist Gwendolyn Quinn previously confirmed to PEOPLE
Wonder previously revealed he and Franklin had made plans to make new music just months before she died
"We talked about doing some music, as recent as two months ago, we talked about it," Wonder said in an Aug
24 interview on CBS This Morning. "I thought I cried my last tear, I said I'd get it together… I flew out from L
A. to Detroit and went to see her and spoke to her," he continued, as he choked back his tears
"She wasn't able to speak back, but her family felt that she could hear me. I told her to say hello to my sister that I lost this year as well," he added, referring to the death of his sister, Renee Hardaway, in May
Wonder also recalled the numerous ways Franklin's career inspired his own: "She did incredible music, incredible singer
She touched every genre. Every singer was influenced in some way by the way she sang
They will forever be influenced by her because of her voice, her emotion, her sincerity is unforgettable
" "I remember hearing her singing at the Reverend Franklin's church when I was little — maybe I was 4 or 5 years old — because my mother would always listen to the church services on Sunday," Wonder continued
"And so the voices I remember most in my life would be Dr. King, her voice, and her father, Reverend Franklin
" "She was just consistently a great human being and she always — even with whatever turmoil that may have been happening in her life — she did not put that on anybody else
She believed most of all that she was doing God's work," he said. "She brought joy to a lot of lives and her voice and the essence of her will stay with all of us," Wonder added
Former President Bill Clinton, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Cicely Tyson also offered up their long-lasting memories with the Queen of Soul, and musicians including Ariana Grande, Faith Hill, Shirley Caesar, Chaka Khan, Jennifer Hudson, Yolanda Adams, Marvin Sapp, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and more took to the stage to perform some of Franklin's greatest hits, as well as hymns
