I like to ask 2 general questions.
(A) Is your house in good shape and you are just looking to clean off some mold and mildew
or (b) are you looking to clean it to get it prepared and ready to go to be repainted?

So let's talk about this from Point A. The house is in great shape and just has some
mold, mildew, algae and you want to get it clean okay so what I generally do is make
sure that when you are just looking to get it clean what we want to do is put our cleaner
on the house we use several different products you can check out our other other videos of
what we have used as far as products go we'll apply it by either running it through our
chemical injector through a pressure washer or you can put it on with a garden sprayer
depending upon what's available to you.
But if you are using a pressure washer we're going to go ahead we have a chemical injector
we'll run it through and apply it throughout the whole exterior of the house and what we
want to do is make sure that our cleaner sits on the house to really let it do its job now
I will try to do is run a comeback when we want to pressure wash it and we are probably
talking about 2500 PSI at maximum pressure pounds per square inch we don't want to
have too much pressure on the house.
So what we want to do is make sure that we're somewhere between 10 and 12 inches away from
the siding you don't want to create what they call a pattern when you pressure wash it it's
kind of shape can kind of see here it's it's kind of shaped almost like a triangle when
it gets away here what you'll do is if you get too close you'll start to to show a cleaning
pattern where the pressure washer is taking off the dirt you basically want to come come
at it with a little bit less pressure and allow the cleaner to do the job because if
you get this wear pattern you'll notice it from standing from the street to the street
corner you'll notice how much dirt is there and how much is not taking off you may have
to clean it twice actually to get it to clean more evenly, now if you're looking to clean
it for repaint or you're going to go ahead and paint it you can get a little bit more
aggressive on it because you want to get the original paint from the house when it was
built you know a lot of times would what's going to happen is that paint is going to
oxidize or get real chalky, we want to get their chalkiness off, mold, mildew, algae,
anything that's going to keep the paint from sticking to that aluminum siding want to get
off there so little more aggressive when you're going ahead and repainting the exterior of
the house a little bit less aggressive when you're just looking to really just clean it
and maybe getting it ready for sale or just want the house look fresh for when the relatives
come over.
