On the surface, these two women

couldn't be more different.

Melanie is a conservative fashion

designer who never leaves her house unless she's covered nearly head-to-toe,

a choice she says empowers her to be herself.

I view modesty as a virtue.

Willow is a nudist whose lifestyle is

part of her business. She owns and teaches at one of the only naked yoga

studios in the country.

These two women normally would never meet,

but we're bringing them together

to talk about women's empowerment in today's world.

Will a naked yogi and a modest fashion designer find common ground?

I'm SuChin Pak and this is

Whether or not it's related to your faith, would you say you would be the

type of woman who dressed conservatively anyway?

I have this discussion with my hijab-wearing friends all the time.

It's like, what kind of non-hijabi would YOU be?

I didn't know this was a thing?

We always talk about this.

Which would you be?

I would definitely be a conservative dresser.

I view modesty as a virtue.

How would you feel about someone

who prefers to wear nothing?

How do I feel about them?

Yeah. But, I mean, just even encountering that.

[laughs] What to do?

It would be a sensory overload.

I would be so aware of myself and, like, what I'm saying and

where my eyes are.

It would be the worst.

I'd feel so uncomfortable.

That was awesome meeting Melanie.

I'm not sure she's prepared to meet a nudist.

We're about to meet Willow, who is a nudist

and also a naked yoga instructor.

Now, I'm not quite sure that I'm ready for naked yoga, but it'll be interesting

to see her point of view.

How did all this start?

You know, did you like wake up one day

and you're like, 'Today...I leave the house with no clothes!'

'Today is the day!'

No, um...

I grew up in a very conservative, body-negative environment.

Nudity was not okay in the home.

We didn't do any of that.

But I was super rebellious,

so I was always challenging all the things that I was raised to believe.

In college I did like — I modeled nude for a photography shoot.

I would pose nude for this sculptor.

I would go to his home like once a week, you know,

his wife would bring us tea and it was just like, 'Oh this is totally normal. This

is not weird at all!'

On a basic level, being naked just feels so much better.

Yeah.

Where do you feel the most

yourself?

In what environment, you know?

I mean... in my naked classes.

There's nothing covering you up. There's nothing to keep you safe in that way.

It is, I think, it's an incredibly vulnerable experience.

Folks who want to cover up and be very conservative,

the reason why it doesn't work for me is because I don't feel like

I own that.

I find more safety and comfort in my own naked space.

It'll be interesting to get the two of them together and see if there is common

ground and where there's not.

Today is the big day that we get Melanie and Willow

together and I thought it would be nice to host it in my home to give us, you

know, just a level of comfort.

I think I'm a little more anxious today because

there's someone else I haven't met and it's like this big secret and I'm like,

'Oh! Who is she gonna be? I don't know!'

I am bit nervous. Melanie, her reaction to the thought of

naked strangers is so dramatic and I definitely don't want Willow to feel in

any way judged, but there is still some nervousness there.

This is not something that happens to me daily.

Or ever.

a company called Haute Hijab.

Willow is the founder of Naked In Motion.

She teaches naked yoga and she's a nudist.

Okay, so first of all, thank you guys so much

for being open to just meeting strangers.

Yeah!

And then knowing that

potentially a stranger that doesn't necessarily share your viewpoint on life.

On paper it's like these women couldn't be more different.

You both come from pretty conservative households,

and yet, you express yourself as adults

in different ways.

Actually, I thought you were gonna be nude right now.

I was like, 'Wait! Is she naked in there?'

'If I see vajayjay's in my face, I'm outta here!'

I'm like literally crying.

Yeah.

This is the reaction.

Yeah.

Do you get that reaction from people when you tell them

that you're a nudist?

I think it's just a common misconception.

I mean like if I was going to like a restaurant or something and I expected

everyone to be clothed and there was a random person who was naked, I would

also be shocked because I wouldn't expect that, you know?

Right.

So I think that's totally understandable.

Before I started my naked yoga group, I think I had been to like maybe a couple

of events where I was slowly experimenting with social nudity.

It felt very natural to me because I am so interested in challenging what I think

the world expects me to do or do with my body or to present myself to the world.

I do feel most empowered in my own classes.

I understand what you're saying in that

for you it's not a sexual thing, but the way in which

women are looked at by men,

particularly without clothes,

is in a sexual manner.

So me putting my hijab on every morning

and wearing clothing that covers my skin —

what I'm doing every day is I'm making a conscious decision to privatize my

sexuality.

It's interesting that you say that. I don't really find

a really strong link between whether or not

I'm clothed and whether or not someone is

treating me with respect.

I would say that I've had

like non-consensual or negative interactions,

both in that nude environments and also when I am in like

the middle of winter wearing a puffy coat and scar, you know what I mean?

Like, what's the difference in that experience, you know?

I think it really is being able to control the narrative.

To control who can see what when.

I'm not going to do what society expects of me

and dress the way society tells me I should dress.

I can totally relate to it.

Yeah. It's so crazy.

Because as you were speaking, I'm like, 'Yeah! Right on!'

Yeah! It's funny. It's just like the opposite.

Yeah. That's amazing.

Are you surprised

at where you are now, versus

maybe some of the fears you guys had walking into this?

I'm totally inspired by you.

Yeah. Same.

For real.

No. Absolutely.

It's so eye-opening to me.

She's close to signing up for the class right?

You can feel it.

Sounds like it!

You know, I would keep my bottoms on, but...

I would be open to trying it.

If it was all female!

Oh my gosh! Okay. Okay.

So you could leave your hijab on if you wanted.

Like, that's totally fine.

That would be so bizarre if I left my hijab on.

If you wanted to though, you could.

I was a little apprehensive at first because I

didn't know what to expect, but I'm now leaving a more informed

person and I'm also really excited to keep in touch with her.

I was surprised just how much we had in common.

What a cool woman she is.

Hello everybody and welcome back to my channel

My name is You and this is the very first episode of The Art of Fashion

I have been invited to exhibit at Fotografia Europea by Marcella Fava

One of the organizers and an incredible photographer

Being a shooting for a fair I had to respect a theme:

"Maps of the time. Memories, archives, future"

It was a very difficult theme so took only the "past" part

And used that as an excuse to finally use one of the moodboards I had already created

I always collect and remember bits and pieces of inspiration

In order to have something to start with

Any time I have to think about a new shooting, as in this case

After deciding the central mood,

I had to think about how it would materialize visually and in which elements

The key parts here were: the model, the dresses and the locations

Finding the right model is always a difficult task

We were very lucky to have found Georgia

She turned out to be the perfect model for the shooting

The locations were also very important

I already knew the Stibbert park

A not very well maintained park, a bit decadent and sometimes a bit creepy too

It was PERFECT

It also had the right kind of foliage: very dense but spotty

That way the light would fall and create interesting effects on the model

The second location was the antiques shop "Gallori Turchi"

Being able to shoot there has been a real privilege

It's a shop located right in the center of Florence, and it was filled to the brim of beautiful pieces!

I used a flash as a main light but I also wanted to let the lamps in the shop shine

I think that balancing the two while moving and finding the perfect framing

Without bumping into something

Proved to be the most difficult part of the shooting!

For the exhibition I printed everything on very big boards and hanged them mid air

Walking through the door visitors could see them moving with the wind

And with the background music I put on it was really a magical experience

I wish you could have seen that!

by featuring Collins in a skit that mocked her speech impediment and once

again exposed the tolerant left as a bunch of phonies despite their

sanctimony Collins's controversial swing vote in favor of Kavanagh may well

reverberate through the Supreme Court for decades an SNL made it clear how it

felt about the crucial role she played in the confirmation not to mention the

lengthy Senate floor speech she gave on Friday in which she announced her

decision the last thing I wanted was to make this about me said strong's Collins

that's why I told everyone to tune in at 3 p.m. to tell all my female supporters

psyche listen I think it's important to believe women until it's time to stop

I'm going to be sharing a fall fashion haul so I picked up lots of different items from a ton of different retailers

So I thought I'd do all-encompassing haul

I have a clothing item some other accessories some footwear handbags jewelry and even some beauty items and I'm probably the most

Excited actually for the beauty items just because I never talk about beauty on my channel

So I'm so excited about some of these new releases

I can't wait to share them all with you guys

Let's just get straight into the video. So the first item I'm going to share with you guys

Is this gorgeous kind of mock neck style top now

This is very much a fall basic and something you definitely need in your wardrobe

I really consider this to be a staple

I was actually after a kind of white turtleneck style top, and this one caught my eye

this is from the brand Hollister and it was actually a

Jumpsuit that was on a mannequin that brought me in to that store I get into the store. There's no jumpsuit

It's only the one on the mannequin

I said forget that but this piece I thought wow, that would be actually perfect for layering this season

So it has a gorgeous ruffled mock neck, which I love. I think this is absolutely adorable

I love the kind of like frill detail on it. And then it also has the frill on the sleeve now

It's more of a lighter knit material. It has that rib effect running through it

And I picked this one up in an extra-small because I do want it quite fitted to my body and I want to layer

It under skirts pants and trousers

And it'll be really cute underneath like a leather jacket a faux fur coat if you want to dress it up

This neck is everything and this was such an affordable piece. It comes in a variety of different colors

I should have snagged it in a few more because is was only 23 Canadian dollars now

I actually really like Berets in the fall and winter season. I like to keep my head warm

I live in Vancouver. It does get a little bit chilly though, It's the most beautiful day out today for the Thanksgiving weekend

So I don't quite have a need for this one, but I know as we move kind of further into October

I know I'll definitely be reaching for this one. So it's kind of a wool style beret

It was very affordable. It was I think under 13 US dollars from forever21, but it's this color. I love this camel color

It's such a great neutral and you can easily style this throughout the autumn winter and into the spring season

I recently picked these boots up from Nordstrom they're the brand Kork-Ease and they were part of the new markdown section on

Nordstrom I've actually never purchased from Kork-Ease before but I can already tell these boots are amazing quality

So I've really fallen hard for this brown color

This season and I love that earth tones are really big this season because they're such a great neutral

But it really kind of breaks up wearing black

I love kind of the ankle style boot and these ones have a really nice rubber sole on the bottom. They're very grippy

I'm not gonna be worried about falling down as much as I normally would I am very clumsy

So it's definitely something that I look for in my Footwear and then it has a really nice kind of sturdy heel

It's definitely a wood effect

but just the type of heel it is it's very wide and you're gonna feel

Really kind of sturdy on your feet and I really like the heel height on these it gives you a nice boost and the best

Part of these boots is not only are they suede and come in four different colors

So three in addition to these ones but it's the zip closure that makes them so easy to take on and off and honestly

These are like the most comfortable pair of boots

I think I've ever slipped my feet into and I believe these ones were under a hundred and thirty US dollars now another item that

I snapped up in the new markdown section from Nordstrom. Is this stunning Rebecca Minkoff handbag

So it's in a leopard print material and it's a black leather with this beautiful

crossbody strap

I love the gold hardware on it just makes it look a lot more high-end and expensive

But it's this leopard print that does it all for me. Animal print is major this season. It is the small love crossbody

So when you open it up, I just have my wallet and my phone in at the moment

But it also fit like a hand sanitizer a lipgloss mint a pack of gum. I actually also oh I also have my garage door

opener inside so it fits quite a bit and

Has a slip pocket at the back, which I actually find myself using quite a bit for my phone

Now this one I believe I want to say was marked down to around

115 US dollars so very affordable. It's a real leather bag and it just really adds a nice statement to your overall

Look, I recently popped in to Aldo because I have such a soft spot for their shoes. And I spotted this handbag

I thought this was a kind of a really gorgeous piece. It has a very kind of high-end look and designer feel to it

I love these top handles here. They're in a gorgeous gold hardware

they just look a lot more expensive than this bag was this bag was marked down 50% off it was

27.50 and again, it's that kind of camely brown faux suede that I'm all about for the fall season

And this is definitely a piece that you can carry through winter and into the spring as well because it is in a neutral

Color tone. I love kind of this like polkadot spotted gold hardware throughout the bag

It just really gives me kind of like Chloe vibes and the bucket bay trend is very big this season

So I am all about that. This one actually comes with a detachable

Yes detachable crossbody strap

which is very

Practical being able to be hands-free when you're out and about I do think the bag looks a little bit more kind of like high-end

And trendy if you just kind of have it as a top handle inside it has a pouch that's actually sewn to the bag with

A toggle closure so you just open it up and I'd say it's very spacious inside

The bag and then I actually like that this little guy just pops down

You draw it closed and you can't really see it. And then you have just the bucket bag looking appearance of it

I also picked up this rather unique

handbag from the brand River Island

So this is an all-over faux fur a leopard print bag and I love the contrast in the black faux fur top handle

It's very kind of fluffy. It's very puffy

And I just think it adds a really kind of nice statement to your outfit

This is a very big bag and it's definitely not gonna be for everyone, but I think it's absolutely beautiful

It has a detachable faux leather with the gold combination crossbody strap. I love that

It's detachable

But I actually use it quite a bit because it does get a little

Heavy just slung over your arm as you can see, it's a huge bag

You can fit your laptop your iPad your camera a whole purse all your makeup

Like this will be great for an overnight bag, but I actually use it a lot just as a shopping bag

It has one pocket inside that has a zip closure and then it also has two kind of slip pockets for your phone your wallet

but what I've been doing is putting all of my valuables into a clutch with the zipper and putting them at the bottom of the

Bag just so that everything's not rolling around in the bag and I don't need to be worried about it

It also has this rather noisy, but very cute

Keychain hanging off the bag. This is also removable. It's detachable, but I actually like the key on it

I think that's quite cute and then it just says river island on the bag and it's definitely a conversation

Starter a lot of people have come up to me

Since wearing this bag, and I'm sure you can see why because it's just such a unique and interesting piece

Alright, so moving in to some jewelry

The first item I want to talk about is actually the necklace I have on

So it's a rose gold and cubic zirconia combination in this gorgeous kind of moon and a dangling star

I think this is so beautiful

I actually kind of like kind of constellations and astronomy and that type of thing so I do think this is such a beautiful statement

Now this is from a TJ Maxx. It's definitely an item that

You're probably gonna have to find in store if I can find something similar

I will definitely link it below for you guys

but I think it's very eye-catching but still kind of subtle and beautiful and it was only

$19.99 TJ Maxx has a beautiful collection and assortment of different jewelry

And this one is sterling silver, which is definitely something I look for

I'm actually allergic to regular metal so I don't wear a lot of jewellery for that reason

And I don't wear a lot of statement jewelry moving a little bit closer. So you guys can see the necklace up close

So I just think it's so beautiful

And it's very dainty and elegant but then still really adds a little something extra to your outfit

I also picked up these ear kind of crawlers and these ones they're a rose gold and kind of cubic zirconia

Combination as well and that's what the earring looks like

I just think that's absolutely beautiful

And to me that kind of look like little stars or like a constellation

Which is what I like so much about it, and I think it pairs really nicely with the necklace

These ones are also sterling silver and they are 16.99 next up

We have these rings from Pandora and they're actually two separate rings. So I'll go a little bit closer

So you guys can see them

I think they look kind of

Enchanting and like have a fairy tale vibe to them and I just really like the way that they look on my hand

rose gold

Closure again, I love being able to combine my metals

I was just looking for a plain kind of silver bangle and I thought with the rose gold combination. It just added something different

It's quite a lightweight bangle

So I just think this is so beautiful and I particularly actually love the look of silver and rose gold

together

Now moving into some beauty products the first item I have to share with you guys is from Fenty beauty and it is their gloss

Balm in the shade diamond milk and it's actually what I have on my lips at the moment

So this is what it looks like out of the box

It has a rose gold top and then it is kind of a very milky very shimmery

Formula and then it has a doe foot applicator

so this is such a

show-stopping

Lip shade. I absolutely love it. I think it's very eye-catching and if you want to turn heads

Particularly this fall and festive season, especially as we move towards the holidays. You'll want to get your hands on this one

It smells really nice and it's quite hydrating, which is what I really like about it

Especially if you're gonna wear it on top of a matte shade the next item I picked up from my rather large Sephora

Purchase was the park ave princess chisel palette. This is what the packaging looks like

It's really really beautiful and it's a kind of heavyweight pallet. I hope I don't accidentally drop it because I'd be quite devastated

It's really beautiful in the crocodile and then gold effect on it. Now this is not new by any means

It's been out for quite a while now

But I recently ran out of my bronzer and I was doing a little bit of research on a new bronzer that I thought would

Work well throughout the entire year and I stumbled across this one

If you haven't seen the chisel palette before this is what it looks like inside

it has an

Amazing mirror like that is absolutely stunning and it has these gorgeous six shades

So they have some lighter ones and then they have four kind of darker bronzy shades

So today I'm actually wearing the princess cut then I layered the carrot on top

Of it and I just think it's a really nice kind of everyday look but you could definitely bring the look up with maybe the crown

And the angle color for more of a darker kind of evening out type of look so I'm really really excited about this one

I think it's a really versatile palette and it's definitely something that I'll be reaching for throughout the entire year the next item

I picked up in my Sephora order is the sweet smell of Christmas by the brand Too Faced know

I know I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself. It's definitely not Christmas

We still have Thanksgiving and Halloween or if you're in the u.s

You have Halloween and then Thanksgiving before to think about Christmas

But it was really the shade range that drew me to this gift set

And I think it's actually a really good value for your money

I can't remember the price exactly but you get four gorgeous shades and three of them are quite more like a

Nudey shade range some are a little bit darker some are a little bit lighter and then it has a red which you know

Is so important to have in your makeup drawer. You can always use a nice bold red lip

so the shade I'm actually wearing today is the shade sugar cookie, and it's

Surprising to me because I thought I would like sugar cookie the least

However, these shades actually dry darker than when you first put them on so I wasn't a big fan of sugar cookie when I first

applied it but then as it started to darken I was like

Oh, I really like this and then I am wearing the diamond milk on top of it now

What's so interesting about all these gorgeous shades is they all have a very unique scent there is a pumpkin spice

Scent a sugar cookie a cinnamon bear and there is a Hot Buttered Rum buttered rum

I think has the most true scent in my personal opinion. So that's what they all look like up close

This would make for such a nice stocking stuffer again

I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but just something to think of ahead of time

I know these are shades

Despite the scent that I'll be wanting to reach for all year round

Another stocking stuffer or an item that if you travel a lot might come in handy

But I know in a stocking stuffer I would like to receive something like this and it is the tickled peach eyeshadow

Palette this one is also by Too Faced in kind of their signature

Tin packaging. I think the packaging is very very cute. And

It has a magnetic closure a nice mirror and then eight gorgeous shades

They have some matte and some shimmer shades, but I really love the colors

I think it's something that you can wear all year round and

It smells like peaches which is so fun. And I just think these are also beautiful

It was very affordable

And again if you travel a lot like I do

Then having items that don't take up a lot of space in your makeup bag is so important

But I don't like to compromise on

color or quality and have less nice stuff when I travel and the last item I have to share with you guys is

Also from Too Faced and it is their gingerbread spice palette. I mean, how adorable is this packaging?

I think it is so so cute and that's probably what's gonna attract a lot of people to this palette

So when you open it up, it looks very similar to the box. It's again in their tin material

It's absolutely beautiful and it has a magnetic closure

Open it up. It has a really nice mirror slightly cut off by a little gingerbread that says bite me on it

But I think that shade range is stunning

I am not sure if I'll be able to work gumdrop into my kind of daily makeup routine

I'm kind of tempted to give it a go but a lot of the other colors I am

All about and I do think this is a really nice kind of affordable palette

It does smell like gingerbread with a little hint of play-doh kind of a strange combination, but the gingerbread scent, it's definitely there

It's just not as strong as the peach palette. This is stunning and again, it would make for a really nice gift

I know a lot of girls would love something like this and you know what?

This is actually a really versatile palette and if you don't have anything in the shade range, which I personally did not then

This is an all-encompassing palette that I'm so excited to start using so that's everything
