New reports are coming out showing just how vulnerable voting systems and electronic voting

machines are in the United States, with only a few weeks left until the mid-term elections.

Some of the latest reports have actually been put together by hackers here in the United

States.

Now, if you'll recall back in August we talked about the fact that there was a hacking convention

where they actually brought in children, below the age of teenagers, and presented them with

exact replicas of state voting systems.

And 11 year old kids were able to get into these systems, change voting totals, change

voting roles, expunge people's names, add people's names, change the total tallies of

how many votes each candidate got, and get out of the system in under 10 minutes without

every being detected.

Our voting systems here in the United States are so vulnerable that even a child can hack

into them without being detected.

And these new reports coming out from hacking organizations are telling us that it's actually

much, much worse than that.

Voting systems used in 23 different states here in the US have fatal flaws in them that

allow these types of hacks to take place.

And it doesn't have to be coming from a foreign super power trying to influence our election,

it could be the person down the street, it could be the next door neighbor.

It could be the guy in the cubicle at the office next to you, that's how easy it is.

It doesn't take some kind of master hacker to be able to get in there and change our

entire electoral process.

And the problem with these reports other than the fact that they've been coming out for

some time and Republicans refuse to do anything about it, is that the hackers say, we alerted

you of these flaws more than a decade ago and you didn't do anything about it.

Those flaws are literally still there.

So, if somebody who knew how to hack into a voting machine in 2008 where to come along

today, they would still be able to hack into those voting machines the exact same way they

did back then, because nothing changed.

I mean hell, we go to the point more than a decade ago where even Good Morning America

brought in a hacker to show them how easy it was to hack into these voting machines.

So you can't even say that the mainstream news and entertainment programs didn't talk

about this, because they did.

We have a lot of great journalists, investigative journalists here in the United States that

have been warning us of these problems for well over a decade.

And now at least for a decade, hackers have been telling us the same thing.

The only question is, how much longer are we going to ignore their advice and ignore

their warnings?

How many elections have to be screwed up, or hacked into, or invalidated before we finally

start to understand that these electronic voting machines are a big, big problem.

You know what makes it even worse, the fact that some of these companies specifically

ES&S, which is one of the worst companies out there along with Diebold, they said that

we need to stop talking about these kinds of things, because it's just going to embolden

hackers around the world to interfere with our elections.

Now you know what you need to do ES&S, you need to pay attention to these reports instead

of trying to shut them up, because they're the ones telling you and your company that

you screwed up, and you companies like ES&S are the ones putting our entire country at

risk.

States Pass 50 New Gun Control Measures After Parkland - Duration: 5:17.

Since the Parkland school shooting earlier this year, there have been 50 new gun control

laws passed across the United States.

A great--finally--move.

Something happened, right?

I mean we've had so many mass shootings.

They finally took this last one, where there was huge public backlash.

Backlash from the victims themselves.

Now we're finally getting some new gun control laws, but is it enough?

That's where we're at right now.

I guess we'll start with the positive.

50 new gun control laws across the country.

Great start.

It is.

It's fascinating.

You have states like Vermont.

Typically a state with some of the loosest gun control laws in the country.

They're passing a whole series of laws that regulate them.

Everything from expanding a ban on carrying guns in the schools as well as red flag laws,

which you and I were talking about earlier.

A red flag law is basically a law that attempts to take weapons away from somebody who may

be a registered gun owner if they're showing signs of maybe mental illness or some other

signs of violence or that could potentially lead to violence.

There's a whole series of red flag laws.

Some that did get passed, others that didn't.

Florida was among the ones.

They were known as the state that again was super pro gun, that the NRA was known to wield

a lot of influence as in other states across the Union, but certainly Florida.

We're the originator of the Stand Your Ground law.

The downside also aside from all these new laws that have been passed to regulate guns

is that you have seen some other states that have managed to beef up their gun protection

laws.

Their gun ownership protection laws.

Right.

We've seen not just Trayvon Martin.

People need to understand, the Stand Your Ground law is used somewhere in the state

every day.

Every day.

Over a parking lot fight the other day or a parking space fight.

Right.

That is really out of control, but 50 new gun control laws.

It took a few dozen ... 17 kids getting killed, plus one of the staffers at that school to

finally get something done, but we've had so many mass shootings that seem to be getting

more.

The death tolls for them seems to be getting higher.

I think one of the real problems here is the red flag laws are great.

The things that say, "If you exhibit any kind of signs ..." Maybe you beat your spouse.

Perhaps you got Baker Acted and had to go on a psychiatric hold for 72 hours.

That's a great start, but we have to get these high-powered rifles, assault weapons, semiautomatic

... Those have to go.

Those serve no purpose here in the United States for civilians.

People say, "Well it's my only protection against the tyrannical government."

Okay.

The government has jets and nukes.

You are outgunned regardless.

Yeah.

If you could shoot 800 rounds a minute, you're still dead if the government decided to do

that, which they're not.

But anyway, it's the gun culture and it's the NRA fighting back against these laws.

What we've seen recently is the NRA come out and say, "We're on the verge of bankruptcy.

We don't have any money.

Oh, no.

Poor us!"

I know.

There's no money for them.

But that could be part of the reason laws are actually getting passed now.

That's exactly right.

If the NRA is feeling a squeeze, they may not have as much influence.

Well, and as we've seen in everything from the FOX News exposes, the #MeToo Movement,

pointing fingers at powerful people, media figures that have been accused of sexual harassment,

it took going after their advertisers to get the companies that were employing these individuals

to change their ways.

It looks like these kids at Parkland who organized so quickly ... Things that I've read really

give them a lot of credit for keeping public interest in this topic alive because they

did organize so quickly after the shooting.

They immediately went to Tallahassee, the capital of Florida.

Then they immediately organized other groups around the state.

It is that youth interest.

I think they're the ones that are going to have to go change it in the voting booth.

They're the ones that are going to have to register to vote.

They're already successfully doing that.

Getting kids across the country to register to vote.

You're going to have to vote a lot of these politicians out of office who have been protecting

the NRA and their interests as opposed to the interest of the general public.

You did mention that, "Why now?"

I think that is one of the reasons why now is because the Parkland kids grew up in this

era of red flag alerts, if you will, of having to hide under their desks, worried about an

active shooter coming into their classroom.

This is a very real topic for them.

Maybe even more so than any other generation.

They are less influenced by the NRA than perhaps your lobbyists in the capitols.

It'll be interesting to see if they can actually pull this off, but it is going to take going

to the voting booth to do it, I think.

Absolutely.

Midterms are right around the corner.

They have the power.

I think the youth voter registration in the state of Florida has surged by 40%.

A little over 40% since Parkland.

It's the highest youth voter registration surge in the country.

That's excellent news.

Here in the state of Florida.

That's a good start.

As you pointed out, it's because these kids didn't want to be victims, but more importantly,

they don't want anybody else to have to go through what they went through.

They know that's the reality today because of who we have both at state government and

the federal government.

Right.

So this is a start.

More work ahead, but congrats to them for getting the ball rolling.

Absolutely.

They deserve all the credit for this.

USS DECATUR HARASSED - IT'S TIME FOR U.S TO STAND UP TO CHINA? - Duration: 7:50.

Chinese Type 052C Luyang II-class destroyer Lanzhou sailed within yards of an American

destroyer USS Decatur- forcing it to change course.

The "unsafe and unprofessional" encounter happened in the hotly contested South China Sea.

The USS DECATUR was performing "freedom of navigation operation" and it passed within

12 nautical miles of Gaven and Johnson reefs in the remote Spratly Islands.

Viewers may note that 12-mile distance is commonly accepted as constituting the territorial

waters of a landmass.

China claims nearly all of the South China Sea.

This is a major dispute since Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines as well

as Vietnam also have a competing claim on certain parts of the South China Sea.

China has tried imposing a unilateral decision, as per which all ships entering these waters

need to identify itself to the Chinese Military.

United States, Japan, Australia, and India favor 'freedom of navigation' since it

is a very important sea route with 5 trillion $ in trade, half of the global merchant shipping

and 1/2 of world's oil shipment pass through it.

The sea also has alleged 11 billion barrels of untapped oil and 190 trillion cubic feet

of natural gas.

China has reclaimed a lot of lands artificially.

It has added four large military airfields in the SCS with extensive facilities for the

operation of military aircraft.

This includes advanced fighters, as well as patrol, electronic-warfare and advanced early

warning aircraft.

China has also been deploying military assets on the islands like YJ-12 anti-ship missile

and HQ-9B surface-to-air missile.

YJ-12 anti-ship missile can travel to speeds of up to Mach 3.2 and has a range of 380 km.

HQ-9B surface-to-air missile system can detect threats up to a range of 300 km and has an

engagement range of 200 km with its missile having speeds of Mach 4.2

The U.S. carries out 'Freedom of Navigation' operations by sending warship and aircraft

near disputed territory without intimating the Chinese.

The idea is to demonstrate the right to fly and sail through what the US considers to

be international waters and airspace.

The operations have been carried out during the time of Obama administration and these

have been continued by Trump administration.

America has been trying to get in more countries to back its operations and contribute with

their own operations in coordination with the U.S.

China has always put out statements condemning the exercise and has some occasions done more

but this time things have been very belligerent.

Commander Nate Christensen, US Pacific Fleet spokesman said, "During the operation, a

Chinese Luyang destroyer approached the USS Decatur in an unsafe and unprofessional maneuver

in the vicinity of Gaven Reef in the South China Sea".

He added, "The Chinese ship then conducted a series of increasingly aggressive maneuvers,

and warned the Decatur to depart the area.

The Chinese "destroyer approached within 45 yards of Decatur's bow, after which Decatur

maneuvered to prevent a collision."

In a statement, the Chinese Ministry of Defense said that its ship had "given a warning to

leave" to the vessel after she entered the area "without permission."

It added, "The US has repeatedly sent warships into the territorial waters near Chinese reefs

and islands in the South China Sea.

The behavior gravely threatens China's sovereignty and security gravely damages relations between

China and the US and their militaries, and gravely injures regional peace and stability."

USS Decatur (DDG-73) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer in the United States Navy.

It has an overall length of 505 or 155 m and displacement of about 9,000 tons.

Arleigh Burke-class warships were designed as multi-mission destroyers capable of Anti

Aircraft Warfare (AAW), Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti Surface Warfare (ASuW).

It has a speed of 30+ knots (55+ km/h) and a range of 4,400 nm or 8,100 km

USS Decatur is designed to be a multi-weapons platform and one of the most heavily armed

destroyers in the world.

It has 90 cell Mk 41 VLS, which can be configured with the combination of the following weapons,

based on mission.

1. Tomahawk cruise missile for Land attack.

It has a long range of up to 1500 miles (2500 km)

2. SM 2 missiles primarily for air defense and secondarily for ballistic missile defense.

The missile has a speed of Mach 3.5 and a range of 90 nm

3. SM-3 for ballistic missile defense.

The missile has a range of 1,350 miles & speed of Mach 10.2.

It also has 2 × Mk 141 Harpoon Missile Launcher for Anti Ship role.

2 × Mark 32 triple torpedo tubes are present launching Mk-46 or Mk-50 torpedoes

2 MH-60R Seahawk LAMPS III helicopters are also present for Anti Submarine Warfare.

Other than it is equipped with a long-range naval gun and multiple Close-In Weapon System.

The Philippines had approached international tribunal for arbitration.

It had argued that China is violating international law with its activities in the South China Sea.

Many complicated disputes involving maritime boundaries have been resolved with this type

of arbitration.

On July 12, 2016, Judges at Hague tribunal came to the conclusion that China's claims

over the waters had no legal basis.

China had contested that the tribunal had no jurisdiction in the matter and rejected the decision.

Its outright rejection symbolizes its high handed behavior and utter disregard for international norms.

US-China relation has gone downhill since Donald Trump became president in 2017.

The trade war initiated by President Trump as well approval of $1.3 billion arms sale

to Taiwan has enraged Beijing.

The latest incident shows the ever-increasing provocations by China

Now things are heating up and its time for the U.S to put its foot down and stand up strongly.

The vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh took place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 before the full U.S.

Senate.

Kavanaugh was confirmed with a vote of 50-48-1.

When will the vote take place? That's an estimate at this point.

Here's what you need to know:.

The Start Time Is Likely to Be Around 3-3:30 PM EST.

As of 10:30 a.m.

EST, journalists were estimating that the Kavanaugh confirmation vote is likely to start at about 3:30 p.m.

EST.

Some sites are predicting a vote time of between 3:30 p.m.

and 4:30 p.m., however.

Thus, there is not a firm start time due to floor speeches, but you should look for the vote to start around that time.

The Senate is allowing 30 hours of debate time.

That would, technically, put the vote at 4:52 p.m.

EST, but it's expected the Senate might move up the vote somewhat.

Chad Pergram covers Congress for Fox News.

On the morning of October 6, he wrote on Twitter, "Kavanaugh confirmation vote now slated for between 3:30 & 4 pm et.

If the Senate burned all 30 hours of 'post-cloture' time, afforded under Senate rules, the confirmation vote would start at 4:52 pm et.

But we now anticipate that coming earlier.".

Either way, the vote will take place in the afternoon of October 6.

Brett Kavanaugh Is Expected to Have Enough Votes for Confirmation.

The greater drama in the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh occurred on Friday afternoon, when various undecided Senators announced how they intend to vote.

They were known to some as the "fence-sitting senators." No more.

All Senators have already indicated how they plan to vote and – if they stick to their promises – that gives Kavanaugh enough votes for confirmation.

Essentially, when it came down to it, Kavanaugh needed at least two of these four Senators to be confirmed (although only 2 of the 4 would have left it to Vice President Mike Pence to break the tie): Republicans Jeff Flake, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski, and Democrat Joe Manchin.

First, Flake revealed he was intending to vote for Kavanaugh unless something major changed.

Then, Susan Collins gave a lengthy speech on the Senate floor, revealing that she, too, was going to vote for Kavanaugh.

Her basic point was that the sexual assault accusations against him are uncorroborated.

A few minutes after Collins's revelation, Democrat Joe Manchin announced that he would be the only Democrat to vote yes on Kavanaugh.

Manchin is up for re-election in November in West Virginia, which is a state that President Donald Trump won by more than 40 points.

Finally, Republican Lisa Murkowski took the floor and said she will oppose Kavanaugh's nomination, although she will technically vote present (but be recorded as no) to essentially cancel out the absence of a Republican senator who wants to be able to attend his daughter's wedding (Steve Daines).

That all should – if it happens as expected – give Kavanaugh the votes he needs to ascend to a seat on the U.S.

Supreme Court.

Throughout the morning before the vote, however, protests continued.
