Value Review: The Mummy Demastered - Dark Souls, Contra and Metroidvania in One - Duration: 11:43.

Hello and welcome to our Value Review, where we ask ourselves the question, if The Mummy

Demastered is really worth its price.

As the title of the video implies it's a mix between Dark Souls, Contra and Metroidvania.

The world, environment and progression are reminiscent of Metroid or Castlevania, the

combat invokes nostalgia of Contra and the game is very difficult and since Dark Souls

has invented difficulty in video games, this game ends up being like Dark Souls as well.

Now, let's figure out how good this game is, if it is for you and when and at what

price you should buy it.

To do so, we'll crunch this game through our unique value-based review system.

The Mummy Demastered is a licensed game based on the the 2017 movie "The Mummy".

We have little clue in how the story of the game blends in with the movie, as we are unfamiliar

with the movie ourselves.

However, the gist of the game is that you are an agent of Prodigium on the task to defend

mankind from the supernatural hordes of Princess Ahmanet.

Generally though, the story is kept light and the game focuses on the gameplay.

In our opinion, this is quite fine as a gameplay-focused game can carry itself with just the mechanics

themselves.

The Mummy Demastered looks like something that would run on the SNES, as its artstyle

is of the 32bit quality.

Its music however is modern and together with the artstyle, the grim and dark aesthaetic

is set.

While this game is far from being a horror game, you can really feel the terror within

as its gameplay actually enhances the atmosphere.

The game is hard; the enemies do a lot of damage, take a lot of damage, move fast and

sometimes even spawn infinitely.

Further, you can only save your game at save points, which you have to find when traversing

through the worlds.

This implicates a constant sense of danger, as you could die at any given moment if you

are careless.

However, you never actually lose your progress when you die.

Instead, you turn into a zombie and are now an enemy to the agent that replaces you.

Now, as the next agent, you will want to obtain the gear that the previous agent had.

To do so, you will have to defeat the now undead agent and take the gear off him.

Effectively, this is a corpse run where the corpse fights back.

This can actually work quite well in some situations and add to the intensity and dread

in the game.

It adds another incentive to stay alive, as you are much weaker without the additional

gear and it gets harder the further in the game you are.

However, in other situations it is really bad and frustrating; for example if you die

in a spot where you are already overrun by enemies.

What now happens is that in addition to the enemies which already outnumbered you, you

will now have to also fight the fully geared previous version of yourself without any gear

whatsoever.

As you can imagine, this lead to frustrutation and only with luck were we able to defeat

the section.

What's worse, if you die again another corpse appears and with each failed attempt you get

more versions of yourself to fight against.

Imagine that this can happen at spots where enemies spawn indefinitely and you have a

recipe for disaster.

Overall, there are some up and downsides to this corpse run system.

While it was really frustrating for me to try to get my own stuff back from my old corpse,

when the situation was very difficult and tight, the system added to the atmosphere

of the game because I have to go back and fight my own self now fully equipped and I

was always in a sense of danger and the danger if I die it will come back to haunt me.

Overall, that was really cool and I hope this kind of system will get fleshed out more in

the future.

Looking at the game, one can clearly see the similarity of the game to Contra as the game

contains platforming and shooting in a 2-dimensional space.

By holding down the trigger buttons, you can stand still and shoot in up to eight directions,

up, down, left, right and the diagonals.

Along with the fairly standard platforming this forms the basis of the gameplay.

We actually experienced a bug here though when we played with a keyboard on PC.

Here we ended up being unable to aim weapons towards the upper-right, lower-right and lower-left

corners.

Generally, while you are going to your objectives, you will be taking a look at your surroundings

to try and find upgrades for your character.

On these you usually have to break open a gate with an explosive.

Here is one light critique point from our side.

The first few gates that you break open are wooden and afterwards you will see some that

are made of metal.

Your first instinct would be to believe that you are unable to break open the metal gates

with your explosives and will require an additional upgrade for that; you are playing a Metroidvania

game after all.

However, you actually are able to break open the gates with an explosive and the visual

cues the game gives to you are therefore misleading.

The weapons themselves serve as a stronger alternative to your standard infinite-ammo

machine gun, but have limited ammo.

Because the soldier you play can only use a set of three weapons, any additional ones

you get will be stored away and accessible within weapon rooms.

You can adapt your equipment to your playstyle or the enemies you are facing.

In terms of length, your main playthrough will probably be between 6h to 10h, depending

on how well you do with the game.

A completionist approach will take quite a bit more time, as there are weapons and relics

to be found.

However, this playtime is worth a bit less than other games, as you will be replaying

quite a few sections a lot and that adds up in playtime.

The game is in some cases quite fair; every single enemy has a pattern which you need

to learn.

After you've learned the pattern, you can try to find a way to counter it and you will

usually get quite good at doing so.

While this is generally really good and indicates that the game is of high quality, these patterns

are very tricky to handle with multiple enemies at once.

Especially as some enemies spawn indefinitely, you are unable to tread through the level

all too strategically and kill them off one by one.

What can really be said about the gameplay is that it is very hard.

You will probably die quite frequently and will have to make a corpse run.

Sometimes it may even be a better option to just get to the end of the section as fast

as possible due to some of the enemies being able to respawn indefinitely.

The fairness of the game is further evident from its boss fights.

These are quite long and can really be considered as endurance fights.

Once you learn the boss' patterns, all attacks become predictable and you have to make sure

to avoid the damage he deals over a prolonged period of time, while you yourself attack

the boss.

The boss fights therefore ended up being really really enjoyable.

I really enjoyed getting in, getting my ass kicked and then going back in and doing it

better next time.

And this constant getting better at the boss fight is what makes it hard but fair game

just this much fun.

But, there were a couple of downsides, which I'll be going into in now.

Our biggest critique point of the title would be its health system.

The game is void of any health rooms, which means you are left to grind health by exiting

and reentering areas and destroying some props to regain it.

This also means that health upgrades are near pointless, unless you are willing to grind

for your hp.

Health drops also never increase in their capacity, which is just another downfall of

the system.

Especially for boss fights this system is plain stupid.

When you die at a boss, you get to fight your previous corpse in the room before the boss.

There, you'll regain some health after defeating it but never all of it.

This means, you can either go fight the boss with a lot less health or you grind your health

back.

The most efficient way for us ended up being to grind our health back to full once and

then actually quitting the game right before we died, because a death would save the game.

This meant, we kept our high hp and avoided fighting our corpse on our next attempt saving

us precious minutes on each attempt.

This grind is quite frankly a waste of time and if you are able to simply play the system

this way, it is actually a very bad system.

If you were simply to be fully healed you when defeat your previous corpse, the grind

would disappear and a much better synergy with the corpse run mechanic would be achieved.

As an alternative, putting a single, well-hidden medical room per level might also mitigate

this issue while draining very little of the intended difficulty.

This grinding actually ends up hurting the value of the game, as we want to discourage

developers from padding out the gameplay with boring and tedious sections.

At Red Value Gaming, our review scores work a bit differently than elsewhere.

Here we assign a game a value at which we think the game becomes worth buying in addition

to a standard review score, which are both evaluated seperately from another.

The traditional review score is pretty standard, but anything to do with the game's business

like microtransactions or the game being short is moved into the value rating itself.

This allows our score to be a direct reflection on how good the game is, while the value rating

will still be able to warn you if the game has any sort of sketchy business surrounding

it just from the review score alone.

So in total, we value the game at around $13, which puts it at about 2/3rds of its MSRP.

The game has a decent soundtrack, atmosphere and gameplay, but is bogged down by its issues

and especially the grinding.

Taking a look at the developer's previous game Shantae: Half-Genie Hero's pricing

history, you can probably expect an around 20% discount during the X-mas sale on Steam.

In conclusion, I actually ended up quite enjoying the game as its toughness made me really learn

it and overall at the end when I beat it I felt really accomplished.

However, due to the issues with the corpse run system and the health system I'm unfortunately

unable to give it a rating any higher than 77.

If you are someone who likes challenging games and are ok with the grind then you should

consider getting it; it might be interesting for you.

But if you are someone who likes an easier and more relaxing platforming experience instead,

uhm, you could go for Shantae Half-Genie Hero instead, which is the developer's previous

game and we also have a review for that available.

Thank you so much for watching.

Licorne Dark Makeup HALLOWEEN 2017 | Marion Cameleon - Duration: 6:01.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well! Today

I created a dark unicorn for Halloween

I hope you will like it. As usual when

I wear those contacts I can't see anything

so I hope my horn and wig are fixed correctly

We'll start the makeup right now!

I use my flash palette to do the base of my skin

I start by putting the blue shade on my forehead

cheeks and nose. As you maybe noticed

I already covered my brows. If you are interested in the

process the video of Lucy Garland is linked below.

To intensify I add some black

I set everything with a translucent loose powder

I use my Sugarpill palette

I want a purplish blue so I add some purple over the blue

base. Mine is Poison Plum from Sugarpill

I find it too purple so I add some blue over

mine is Velocity from Sugarpill again

I add some black shadow over the black base

I blend with a pink blush

I use a pinkish highlighter

on my light points

I use a big black pencil to do the bases

I build all the bases and then blend them

And I set with my black shadow on top

I blend my black shadow with my purple one

and then I add the blue color

On the naked middle of my lid I add some silver flash color

and set it with a silver star powder

I do some tears with my black shadow under my eyes

This is optional because I added some glitters after

I show you the steps because I did it but it's useless

I do my eyeliner as usual

I apply Lady Killer lashes from Rouge and Rogue

Homeoplasmine allows the glitters to stay in place

I apply a bit on the desired area

I first use Purple Unicorn from Itsinyourdreams

and then Silver Selene from the same brand

And then Noir from Glitpop

I think I put too much glitters so

I take a goupillon and remove the excess with it

I add some contrast by adding a bit of black liner

and put again Noir glitters on top

On my lips it's Evildoer from LASplash

I use the fixing mist from KVD

to fix the glitters on my neck

To add contrast I add Silver star powder on my lips

My wig comes from Heahair

I bought this Unicorn headpiece on Etsy

I put the link of the shop below

It's a regular headpiece that you

fix with some hair clips very easily

This video is finished. As you know I can't see anything

with those contacts on so don't wear them if you go

outside. There are some with some quadrillage I tried

some once but it's very difficult to see also

With some black sclera it can be awesome too

but I wore them a lot lately so I needed to change a bit.

I like these ones a lot actually

But they are really annoying

As usual if you wanna recreate it

don't hesitate to share on social medias with #marioncameleon

See you tomorrow for another Halloween tutorial!

Dark Secrets The Cast Of 7th Heaven Tried To Hide - Duration: 4:38.

7th Heaven was one of the most successful family dramas in TV history and one of the

earliest and biggest hits for both the WB and the CW.

The show consistently delivered solid low-stakes drama revolving around the kind and compassionate

Reverend Eric Camden, his wonderful wife Annie, and their adorable brood.

It's about as wholesome and squeaky-clean as TV gets, but how wholesome and squeaky-clean

were the lives of 7th Heaven's cast off-screen?

Here are some out-of-character incidents cast members either tried to hide or later regretted.

Biel's regrettable photos

In the March 2000 issue of the now-defunct Maxim clone Gear, actress Jessica Biel did

what so many other starlets of the era did: She posed for photos in very little clothing.

She said at the time she "hoped" the photos would get her fired from the show, but producers

held her to her contract.

Biel later told Entertainment Weekly that she regretted the whole affair, explaining

it was a moment of wild rebellion that stemmed from the show's producers not allowing her

to dye and cut her hair.

She also said that the pictures turned out racier than she anticipated, and she was,

quote,

"...shocked, and my family was heartbroken about the pictures that ran."

London's bizarre ordeal

Jeremy London was part of the 7th Heaven cast in its seventh and eighth seasons, playing

Chandler Hampton, Reverend Camden's associate minister.

Off-screen, London has since had some regrettable run-ins with the law and trouble with substance

abuse.

The strangest was an incident in 2010, when London was changing a tire in Palm Springs

and the unthinkable happened …

"The actor says he was kidnapped, forced to take drugs, and drive around The Valley."

London's family publicly questioned the actor's story, citing his need for "psychological

help and drug treatment as soon as possible."

But when police investigated the kidnapping, they eventually located his car and arrested

one of the very real kidnappers, Brandon Adams.

Adams later admitted that another one of the kidnappers did, indeed, pull a gun on London

and force him to participate.

Regardless, a few months later, a sober London, who had a history of abusing painkillers,

agreed to appear on VH1's Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky, who diagnosed London

with "full-blown post-traumatic stress disorder."

Rosman's leaked photos

Mackenzie Rosman was 7 years old when she started playing youngest daughter Ruthie Camden

on 7th Heaven.

She grew up on TV, logging 11 years on the show by the time it wrapped in 2007.

Rosman made headlines the next year when some personal photos of the then-18-year-old posing

in her underwear and kissing girls were leaked online.

She may have regretted taking the photos at the time, but five years later, she quote,

"caved" and decided to willingly pose in her underwear for a men's magazine, much like

her former co-star Jessica Biel.

So in 2013, Rosman appeared in her skivvies once again, this time on her own terms, posing

for a risqué spread in Maxim.

Collins' abuse

In 2014, TMZ posted an audio recording of actor actor Stephen Collins in a therapy session—secretly

but legally recorded by his suspicious ex-wife Faye Grant—admitting to several sexual encounters

with as many as three underage girls over the course of three decades.

The man who played TV's most famous fictional minister released a statement confirming the

veracity of the tape, and later apologized for his actions …

"I'm a human being.

I have faults, and I've done things that I deeply regret.

But I also know that I have a really good heart."

In an ironic twist, Jessica Biel's TV dad compared those 2000 Gear photos of her at

the time to "inappropriate videos," adding that, quote, "as a parent of a young daughter, this

is very disturbing to me."

Multiple criminal investigations ensued, but Collins was never prosecuted.

He still became persona non grata in Hollywood: The week the revelations broke, his already-filmed

scenes for Ted 2 were cut from the movie, and he has had zero acting credits as of the

making of this video.

"It's just not going to happen again, and it hasn't, and I feel very confident that

it won't."
