Customers at a California pizza joint are warning others to steer clear of the restaurant after sharing their poor experiences as well as photos of its unkempt working conditions.

Photos shared in recent months from Papa Murphy's on Palmetto Avenue in Pacifica show trash covering floors and counters and a man believed to be the manager sleeping on a bathroom floor.

The poor reviews were posted to Papa Murphy's Yelp page, which has a three-star rating, as well as Reddit.

A man named Michael said in a review that he ordered pizza over the phone and was greeted by a rude employee.

When he arrived over a half hour later, he was horrified by what he saw.

'Stay far away if you value your health, and lack of service seems to be their mantra,' he first said in the review.

'Nobody was there. No customers, no employees, and a completely under-stocked and filthy case where ingredients would be to top pizzas.

'I waited about 5 minutes thinking the employee needed to use the restroom or was taking out trash or some other task. I called the place from my phone, and watched and heard their phone ring until it went to a full voice mailbox. I then called out. No answer.

'I decided to venture. Walked in the back and saw food and vegetables just sitting out on top of disgusting tables and dirty machines... walked around the corner and saw the employee, sitting in a chair, huddled over, holding a rag up to his face. Asked if he was ok and could help me, and he got up, not once apologizing, and said he should just close up the place for the night.

'I walked back out front (snapping a picture of what it looked like behind the counter on the way) and told him I had called in an order. He opened a few storage doors and then walked in the back.'

Michael said the worker did not speak to him and hadn't started preparing his order.

'I saw him with a wad of raw pizza dough in his bare hands (which hadn't been washed) placing it in the machine to flatten it. At that point I left.'

Another unnamed woman shared her experience in a viral Reddit post.

'In case anyone ever gets pizza from Papa Murphy's in Pacifica... Heads up! We ordered a pizza online from them a little while ago and my husband went to pick it up. He just texted me these photos.

'The guy working there is sleeping on the bathroom floor and this is what the work station looks like. Totally disgusting. Glad we didn't get our pizza there!'

DailyMail.com has reached out to Papa Murphy's for comment.

, which she updated over the weekend.

'It's about to get REAL. I worked here for almost 2 years, and for majority of it, it was great! The (former) owners were lovely, the food was clean and delicious, and the atmosphere was friendly,' she wrote.

'However, now this place is run by new owners that are a family. They blatantly disregard health codes (yes, a lot of the food is very, very expired. I'm sorry) and the sanitization for most of the containers is pretty bad,' she said.

'A health inspector came in late 2017 and threw away a bunch of bad food- and my boss (Jay) made me pull it out of the garbage and serve it! Sorry for that also.

'They ignore company policy by serving romaine lettuce that was banned because of the E. Coli breakout at chipotle, I have before found crickets in the spinach, and most vegetables sit longer than they should in the freezer.'

She said the manager, Jay, the man found sleeping on the floor, also harassed several female employees.

'Jay harassed several female employees until they all quit, and now that I've been gone for several months, they refuse to give me or any of the employees at W2 form for taxes!

'After comforting Jay about it in person, he got physically violent with me (a 18 year old 90lbs girl), and the police were called, and he was arrested!'

We are already reaching Big Bear

Around 2 hours driving from Los Angeles

Some places look very pretty

The houses covered in snow

We're going to walk before we get where we're going.

We are going to walk a little through the forest

Here are some traces of an animal.

What animal will it be?

I think they are the tracks of a dog

There are the traces of a person

It seems that someone brought the pet for a walk.

We come to walk to admire the beauty forest.

The forest covered with snow.

It is a beautiful view

We almost reached Big Bear

When we get to Big Bear we will have fun and we talked for a while.

We are already in the city of Big Bear.

The Big Bear Mountains

2 hours driving from Los Angeles

When we reach our destination we will talk for a while.

We already arrived my dear friends.

Let's walk around here while I show you the place.

Let me tell you that the reason here is called Big Bear

Big Bear means huge bear.

In the time of 1900 and before that date.

Here the Native Americans lived the tribe of Los Serranos.

Here there were many grizzly bears.

At that time, grizzly bears abounded.

The last time they looked at a grizzly bear in this area.

Supposedly it was in 1912

With the arrival of the white man in this area.

The grizzly bears disappeared from this area.

Black bears can still be seen in these times.

Sometimes they roam the city.

Here in the Big Bear Mountains almost everything the year is cold.

Here the snow is very common

We are at a height of around 9000 feet.

This height varies in several places.

In this area there are two large resorts where You can ski or snowboard.

There is a cable car to climb the mountain.

There are several special places to ski and snowboarding

If you do not come prepared do not worry.

There are many places where you can rent everything you need.

There are also many places where you can take lessons.

Since I'm telling you about this.

So that you do not make the same mistake that I committed

My family and I went last week to the Baldy Mountains.

When we left Los Angeles. There There was a bit of heat.

We do not dress appropriately for cold.

When we reached the Baldy Mountains.

On the mountain it was very cold.

It's like being inside a freezer.

We can not stand the cold very much.

We came back very quickly.

On that mountain there is also a cable car.

We did not get on the cable car because it was very cold.

I'm telling you this so you can prepare well if you want to go enjoy the snow.

You must wear good shoes

You can get special clothes for the snow

Warm clothes like scarf, hood.

The weather is cold and very humid.

Do not forget to bring extra socks.

This hill is a little inclined.

Let me tell you that you really need to bring special shoes.

Here it is very slippery.

In the night it is around 20 degrees Fahrenheit

In the day it is around 50 degrees Fahrenheit

The sun melts the snow a bit and makes it ice

That's why the whole area is very slippery.

You need special shoes for ice.

Some parts are too slippery.

The city of Big Bear is very close to Los Angels

Around 2 hours driving depending of traffic.

Supposedly this city does not even have 10,000 inhabitants.

But in a single weekend there may be up to more than 100,000 people.

It is a very touristy place.

Many people like to ski and do snowboard

Camping or hiking in the mountains.

It is a really beautiful place.

Since this place is very close to Hollywood

Here they have recorded many movies and series of TV.

Some examples are:

Daniel Boone

Here they filmed many chapters of Daniel Boone.

The last of the Mohicans

An old movie of 1920

Ever watched the Rocky movies

Rocky's films are several

I think Rocky 3 is when Rocky box against a Russian

In that movie he trains in the cold Of snow.

Supposedly to be hardened in the muscles.

Several boxers in the 1990s made the same here.

Some of the most famous that trained here in the cold.

Mike Tyson and Oscar de la Hoya.

They used the same rock strategy and to train in the cold.

Supposedly that hardens the muscles.

We are going home now.

In the distance you can see a large lake.

I can see some ducks.

The lake is a little frozen

It's not all frozen.

On the way home, night has fallen.

Keep in mind that on these dates dark very early

It gets dark around 5 in the afternoon

Above the mountains the cold is stronger

The panorama is very beautiful

Today our adventure in the mountains ended of Big Bear.

See you later, friends

We were here a week ago

California Man Stuck in Guatemalan Hospital Until He Pays $20K Bill After Freak Diving Accident - 24 - Duration: 3:51.

A California man's family is setting out to raise money to pay his mounting medical bills after he suffered a freak accident while swimming in South America.

Alex Austin was with friends in Guatemala on Januarywhen he inadvertently dove into shallow ocean water and broke two vertebrae that pinched his spinal cord.

"After we pulled him out of the water, he slowly began regaining feeling over our 5-hour journey to the best hospital in Guatemala," Austin's friend, Dillon Nicholson, wrote on the family's GoFundMe page.

After arriving at the hospital, Austin underwent an operation to place two titanium rods, a titanium mesh cylinder and a palladium plate along his spine, the donation page reads.

Over the weekend, Austin began therapy sessions at the hospital to keep his lungs and muscles stimulated, and an update on Monday showed the 28-year-old smiling as he walked for the first time since the accident while assisted by Nicholson and a nurse.

"He rose from his chair, did two laps around his room, and was exhausted at the end of it," Nicholson wrote. "Five days ago we were lying on a beach and he couldn't feel anything below his neck. Yesterday he was walking, and I had my first tears of joy."

"All I want to do is go on walks with my boy and sneak him more ice cream," he added.

While Austin — a high school chemistry teacher from Modesto, California — is making strides in his recovery, his medical bills have soared to a massive $20,000. According to Austin's sister, Roxanne Austin, the hospital said they wouldn't release him until the amount was paid in full.

"Since the insurance can't really do a lot right now, we are paying everything out of pocket," Roxanne told FOX 40.

In just a few days, the family was able to raise more than $21,000 from 355 donors to help pay Austin's bills in the hopes he'll soon be able to fly home to complete his recovery. As of Tuesday morning, the donation page is just short of the family's $25,000 goal.

"He is an amazingly genuine person, always looking at the bright side of things," Roxanne told the news station of her brother.

According to Nicholson, even if he is thousands of miles away, Austin has kept his students in mind.

"After calling his parents, the first thing [Austin] wanted to do was make sure his students would have lesson plans to stay active while he's gone," Nicholson wrote on GoFundMe.

Spartan Race/Spartan Sprint in Lake Elsinore & Chino Hills California (So Cal Sprint) - Duration: 10:28.

Hello, and welcome to my channel where I talk about my travels, adventures, and share them

with you.

Have you ever thought about doing a Spartan race or an obstacle course race, but you never

signed up because you thought you weren't very fit, or you weren't fit enough to complete

one?

I'm tell you right now, JUST DO IT!

Because there are so many different people with different body types that are doing it,

and at the end, you just feel so good that you completed something that seemed so daunting

at first; so intimidating at first but you did it.

It's the first month of the year, and everyone is trying to get in shape, so, I feel like

today would be a good time to finally post about the Spartan races.

Specifically today, I'll just talk about the Spartan Sprint.

Well there's three main types: The Spartan Sprint, the Super, and the Beast.

We've done all three, but for now, we'll talk about the Sprint.

So, my very first one, my husband signed me up just a month before the race.

So, uh, being a person who isn't necessarily all that fit with not a lot of upper body

strength, I was definitely pretty intimidated, but also at the same time, I was really excited.

I never really let fear stop me from doing something I really want to do, so I saw this

as a challenge.

And, oh, it was SO FUN!

We ended up training for it.

We started doing a lot of cardio, a lot of upper body exercises.

The cool thing about the Spartan races is that it's an obstacle course.

So, it's not just straight running.

I don't really, I'm not really a big fan of marathons or fun runs, unless there's something

that kinda keeps my attention.

I love obstacle courses.

It's just really fun.

It feels like a giant playground.

But in this case, I was so excited!

It was going to be my first one.

Flash forward to, I think a year later, I did another one with my friends and my brother,

and my husband again, and it ended up being a blast.

If you ever thought about doing a Spartan race, I suggest you just go for it and do

it.

Sign up, and then later on when you get good at it, you can think about the Ultra Beast

and the other variations of the race.

So let's get to the obstacles.

The Sprint is about 3 to 5 miles and 20 to 23 obstacles, which is perfect (yet still

challenging) for any beginner.

In the beginning, the announcer always gives a rousing speech to get everyone hyped up

and ready for the race.

Oh, by the way, I'll be including clips from both my Sprints in this vlog and that's

why my hair is blonde in some of the clips.

Also, we don't have footage of every obstacle and they're not in order.

I really just wanted to show you what the race usually entails.

There are several walls of varying heights that you have to go over.

Again, if you need help, there are so many people around you who are more than willing

to help (even if you're racing without a group).

This is another reason why I love the Spartan races because of the strong sense of camaraderie

and teamwork.

Also, for the very tall walls, there are little steps for people who are shorter that you

can use and it helps out a lot.

In the Atlas Carry, you pick up and transfer a large weight to the opposite side, do 5

burpees, and return the weight to it's original location.

And then there's the Multi-Rig, Plate Drag, Hercules Hoist (or Here Hoist), the Bucket

Brigade where you have to carry a bucket filled with rocks to a certain distance.

And I think this one is called Over, Under, Through.

The Monkey Bars...Barbed Wire Crawl.

We found that rolling helps, uh, is a lot easier and more efficient.

The Spear Throw, a.k.a. the Burpee Maker.

A-Frame Cargo Net is, you just pretty much have to climb over it.

The Rope Climb.

I'm obviously slower than Rain it, but honestly, I'm just happy that I can climb it.

The Inverted Wall.

Then there are the mud pits (I don't know if that what they're called, but that's what

I call them).

I really don't like the Dunk Wall.

It just, I don't know.

It grosses me out thinking of all the people that's been in it and like, the potential

for infection.

I think my friend got an eye infection or something.

The Mud Wall (Slip Wall).

That was very difficult because it's so slippery.

It's right after the Dunk Wall, so everyone is muddy, the wall is wet, and it's very dangerous

too, if you think about it because you slip and fall, you know, of course get injured.

And I think a few people have been injured in this one.

But, it's also another great example of camaraderie and just people helping each other out.

It was really great because people on the other end who made it to the top, turn around

and offer help to others who are struggling below.

And I did fall once on this one.

So, just be careful with any of these things.

Just make sure that you're careful and you ask for help

when

you need it.

Man charged in California campers death . 10 other shootings The Sacramento Bee

January 07, 2019 05:41 PM

An ex convict has been charged with killing a father who was camping with his daughters in a Southern California park and trying to kill the girls and eight others in a series of shootings over two years, prosecutors said Monday.

Anthony Rauda, 42, was charged in Los Angeles County Superior Court with one count of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder and five counts of burglary in a rash of break ins and shootings targeting campers and drivers that stirred fear near a popular state park outside Los Angeles.

Rauda is accused of shooting Tristan Beaudette in the head while the 35 year old father camped in a tent with his young daughters on June 18 in Malibu Creek State Park. The girls, ages 2 and 4, were not injured but are considered victims of attempted murder and listed in a criminal complaint as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2.

The park 30 miles 48 kilometers west of downtown LA was closed temporarily after the slaying. Much of the park, which has served as a filming location for movies and TV shows such as "M.A.S.H.," was charred in recent wildfires.

Fear spread when authorities acknowledged after the killing that several shootings had occurred in the area, but they were not previously thought to be related. Other victims then came forward to report they had been shot at in the park or driving past it.

Rauda was arrested in October in a ravine near the park dressed in black and carrying a rifle in his backpack. Officers had been searching on foot and by helicopter for an armed burglar who had broken into businesses and homes and stolen food.

Rauda was on probation at the time of his arrest, according to Luis Patino of the Department of Corrections. Rauda was first sent to state prison in 2006 for possessing explosives, Patino said. He was sent back in 2014 for being a felon with a loaded gun.

After his arrest in October, Rauda was sentenced to nearly a year in jail for violating probation and illegally having a gun and ammunition, said Shiara Davila Morales of the district attorneys office.

But the investigation remained open as authorities looked into whether he was connected to the shootings that seemed to target people at random. The shootings date to November 2016, when a wildlife biologist was struck in the arm while sleeping in a hammock near the park.

Rauda is now charged in the hammock shooting that wounded James Rogers and in opening fire days later on someone sleeping in a car. He is accused of shooting at three other cars in 2017.

Four days before Beaudette was killed, Rauda shot at a Tesla near the park, prosecutors said.

He was brought into court in a wheelchair Monday, but his arraignment was postponed until Jan. 22. At a previous court appearance, he wore a mesh hood to prevent him from spitting or biting.

A public defender representing Rauda didnt immediately return phone and email messages seeking comment.

If convicted, Rauda faces up to life in prison.
