  Actor Sipho Manzini may get those awkward questions about Petronella but the star says the real queen of his heart is his wife.

Sipho may be in the spotlight for his role as Mjekejeke on Mzansi Magic's popular soapie The Queen but he prefers to keep his private life out of the spotlight.  Still he and his wife are inseparable and the star told TshisaLIVE that he owes a lot of his happiness and peace to her influence in his life.

As darkness falls in the Tetons, the iconic landscape slowly disappear.

But overhead, another aspect of the park experience is just beginning.

(chorus frogs croaking)

The darkness and clearness of the sky in a place like this

is an important and valuable resource that we need to protect.

We don't often think about it, but we're really losing something of our heritage

when we don't have darkness anymore.

The first time I remember seeing the Milky Way was a particularly dark night

so I think the moon wasn't really out. I looked up and I just saw everything!

Now, it's definitely something that I go outside of my cabin to go look at the sky,

because it's something that is unique to being in the Tetons.

I think over the past few years, there has been more and more attention paid to

dark skies being a part of national parks.

People are realizing that the skies above the national parks

are just as integral as everything on the ground.

People are looking for places to go where there are dark skies that they can photograph.

And Grand Teton is definitely one of those places.

I always tell people that if they learn the sky in a place like this,

they can take it with them wherever they go.

I think that's really the big reward, hearing people say,

"wow, look at that," just to get them excited.

Showing people these images through the telescopes

gives them a different sense of place, and where they exist in the universe.

My hope is through sharing those experiences with people,

they really do think about themselves differently in relationship to the rest of the cosmos.

When people have the opportunity to look up at the night sky,

it adds a whole new dimension to their park experience.

It's just one more way that people can be inspired by the natural world.

We have this idea of wilderness being this area that is devoid of human impact.

But the human impact on the land actually extends up into the sky

When you have light pollution, it changes not only what the sky looks like, but it changes the way

birds, mammals, insects, and all species interact with the nighttime environment.

Dark skies are a vanishing resource -- one third of the world's population can no longer see the Milky Way.

When city dwellers gaze upward at night,

they may see only a hundred stars, where they should see five thousand.

Even in Grand Teton National Park, light pollution from nearby towns

impacts the sky that visitors have come to see.

Yet with simple steps to adjust lighting in our homes and communities,

we can begin to restore darkness to the skies above.

We see pictures of the rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter.

But it's a different experience when you actually look through a telescope,

and the light reflected off those objects from the Sun actually hits your eye.

There's just something magical about it.

I would say the night sky really makes me feel small.

Just you against that blackness, and all of the stars...

I think it's more of a spiritual experience than anything, and it definitely makes you realize that

there's so much more out there, and...it makes you wonder.

Looking up at the night sky, you're looking at the stars that some of the earliest people

of this country looked up and saw. Future generations will be looking up at the same stars,

creating their own stories and memories as well.

And so I encourage everyone to set their alarm, walk outside, let your eyes adjust,

and gaze up at the dark skies.

It will be one of the most memorable experiences you have in your national parks.
