BREAKING: Flu DEATHS Rising RAPIDLY…

Look How Many Have DIED In This State

This is the time of year that most people expect to be slammed by sickness, usually

in the form of the common cold or the flu, but it seems folks in California are really

getting hit hard this year.

Believe it or not, even during the 21st century, the flu can be a serious illness that leads

to complications including, sometimes, death.

This is definitely not something you want to mess around with.

So what's the deal in California?

Well, state health officials have declared that 27 people younger than 65 have passed

away due to the latest flu strand that's rocking the state, all of these occurring

since October.

That's three times the number of deaths from last year.

Fox News has further details:

According to health officials, there's no region of the state where people were being

spared from the flu.

At UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, the emergency room saw more than 200 patients

on at least one day, mostly because of the flu.

"The Northridge earthquake was the last time we saw over 200 patients," emergency

room medical director Dr. Wally Ghurabi said, citing the 1994 disaster that killed dozens

and injured thousands.

In San Bernardino and Riverside Counties east of Los Angeles, emergency rooms are so crowded

that ambulances aren't immediately able to unload their patients, preventing them

from responding to incoming 911 calls, said Jose Arballo Jr., spokesman for the Riverside

County Department of Public Health.

And some hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area are limiting visitors under the age of

16 as a precaution, since young people can be more vulnerable to effects of the flu.

One of the reasons this flu season is particularly brutal, says medical experts, is because it

peaked earlier than previous years, with the typical flu season hitting it's peak sometime

in February.

While this time last year only saw three people dead from the flu in California, by the time

February rolled throug, the number totaled 68.

Even with that information, doctors have acknowledged that this flu season has been uncharacteristically

rough.

Some folks, including those in the medical establishment often swear by flu shots, however,

this year, officials are saying the vaccination might only be 32 percent effective, and to

make matters worse, the overwhelming majority of people getting sick are catching a strain

the shot doesn't work very well against.

California pharmacies are struggling to keep Tamiflu on the shelves, as demand has skyrocketed,

leading some stores to be temporarily out of stock, and since there's no shortage

of the medicine, this indicates the stuff is flying off the shelves in a sudden surge.

As usual, medical professionals are telling those who don't have the flu to wash their

hands vigorously and as often as possible and avoid coming into contact with individuals

who have been coughing or sneezing to help prevent this horrible strain of the flu from

spreading.

Keep the people of California and other spots around the country hit by the flu in your

thoughts and prayers.

How Many Calories Should I Eat in a Day - 1600 to 2500 calories, Full Day Meal Plan - Duration: 9:08.

Hello Friends, today we will talk about, How Many Calories Should I Eat a Day?

Figuring out how many calories you should eat is one of life's greatest mysteries — or

so it seems. Although calorie needs are unique and based

on many factors such as age, sex and height, a general calorie range can be a good place

to start if you're looking to maintain or lose body weight.

Let's break things down: The amount of calories your body requires each day is based on your

basal metabolic rate, along with your level of physical activity. And what is basal metabolic

rate, or resting metabolism? Essentially, it's the energy your body requires to perform

all the activities vital for life, like respiration and digestion.

This rate accounts for about 70% of your total calorie needs, so it's pretty important to

make sure you're fueling your body properly. The younger and taller you are, the higher

your basal metabolic rate. Men also tend to have a higher resting metabolism than women.

When it comes to the remaining 30% of your daily caloric expenditure, it's mostly made

up of your level of physical activity, which can vary from day to day. Basically, the more

active you are, the higher your energy needs. How Many Calories You Should Be Consuming?

America's top nutrition experts weighed in to cut through the most common calorie misconceptions

and help you identify what you really need each day.

Many people think eating fewer calories is better when trying to lose weight. However,

unless you're a woman under 5'3, I wouldn't recommend eating less than 1,600 calories

per day." Consuming too few calories can lead to a deficiency

of essential nutrients and may even suppress the immune system.

"Eating less than your body needs can slow metabolism as the body begins to break down

muscle for fuel," says Manish Arya, author of "The Ultimate 30 Day Diet", you may

experience low energy levels, excess hunger or changes in mood, adds Manish Arya.

On the other hand, too many calories aren't ideal, either. In addition to weight gain

and an increase in fat storage, consuming more calories than your body needs can result

in a variety of less than pleasant ailments. "Eating too many calories, especially from

fried or spicy foods, can lead to gastric reflux," says Manish. "Those excess calories

can result in feeling lethargic, weighed down, and sluggish," adds Manish Arya.

Caloric Intake Based on Your Activity Level. The perfect balance of calories will complement

both your metabolic rate as well as your physical activity level.

• Very Active: For those who are very active, a.k.a exercising vigorously for an hour or

more per day, or who work in a highly physical job, the calorie needs for women range from

2,000 to 2,500 calories per day, whereas a very active man would need closer to 2,500

to 3,000 calories per day. • Moderately Active: For a moderately active

individual who exercises for about 30 to 60 minutes a day, a woman, on average, would

need 1,900 calories per day, while a male would require 2,500 calories.

• Slightly Active: An individual who is slightly active, averaging between 5,000 to

8,000 steps per day, would require 1,800 calories for women and 2,200 calories for men.

• Sedentary: For someone who is mostly sedentary, taking less than 5,000 steps per day, calorie

needs fall as low as 1,600 for a woman and 1,800 for a man.

What to Eat to Reach Your Recommended Daily Calorie Count.

What does a typical daily meal plan look like within these calorie ranges? Let's take a

look. 2,500 Calories per Day.

1,600 Calories per Day. • Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, 1 slice of

100% whole-grain toast, 1 tablespoon peanut or almond butter, latte or café au lait with

8 ounces non-fat milk • Snack: 1 ounce of nuts (pistachios, peanuts,

Be Mindful, but Don't Start Counting Calories. Although watching your calorie intake is important

if you're trying to maintain or lose body weight, it's not the only factor to focus

on to ensure a healthy diet and lifestyle. "Instead of counting calories, focus on eating

a diet rich in plant-based foods and whole grains," Manish says. "Filling half your plate

with vegetables at meals can help improve portion control," points out Manish.

Fixating on calorie counts can lead to deprivation and overeating if you aren't careful. Instead,

focus on what you can eat in abundance, such as whole fruits and vegetables, and the rest

will fall into place.

Riverdale Season 2: How many episodes are left in this season of the Netflix series?

Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge and Jughead Jones have been mystified by the identity of "The Black Hood" in Riverdale.

The whole town descended into chaos as they try to uncover the murderer's identity, which has now been revealed.

However, the show has teased that the story is far from over.

The show took a break over Christmas, but the story of Riverdale and its people will be back.

Season two has a staggering 22 episodes, which is double that of the first season.

How can I watch Riverdale? Netflix released the first episode of season 2 on October 11.

Since then the episodes have been dropped on a weekly basis.

New episodes featuring the best friends air every Wednesday in the US on CW at 9pm eastern time.

Episodes are then made available on Netflix the Thursday after at around 8am GMT, to the joy of British viewers.

What has happened so far in season 2? Season 1 ended with Archie's dad Fred's life hanging by a thread after being shot by "The Black Hood".

The big theme of Riverdale season 2 has been uncovering the identity of the shooter.

Because of this, the season has been a lot darker than the first season.

During Fred's slow recovery, Archie goes on a frantic revenge mission to find the identity of the person who shot his dad.

The plot thickens when the Black Hood kills Ms Grundy, Archie's old fling and school teacher.

Archie takes matters into his own hands and creates a group that will patrol the streets to keep the town safe.

The "Red Cirle" makes a viral video, calling out the Black Hood.

The group disbands after experiencing negativity from parents and the principal.

After his father is put in jail, Jughead moves school to the "Southside", which leads to tensions between him and his friends.

Betty and Jughead's relationship has been on a rocky road as Jughead tries to balance his double life.

He eventually becomes part of the Southside Serpents, his dad's motorbike gang.

Meanwhile, Betty has been receiving personal letters from the Black Hood, giving her ultimatums.

She plays along, thinking it will lead them to reveal their identity.

Veronica and Archie's relationship has bloomed this season.

Veronica has been supporting Archie through his troubles.

In episode 8, House of the Devil, the series took a break from the Black Hood to focus on the characters' storylines.

Jughead's dad FP Jones was released from jail and starts working at the local restaurant Pop's.

Veronica and Archie's relationship appeared to be heating up, only for her to not reciprocate when Archie dropped the L-word.

The episode heavily focuses on the relationships of Archie and Veronica, as well as Jughead and Betty.

The episode left viewers questioning if both the couples had broken up.

In the latest episode the identity of the Black Hood was revealed.

What will happen in the rest of season 2? Now that the identity of the Black Hood has been revealed, what will the show focus on? It does not seem like Riverdale will be any less dramatic in 2018.

Show writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has said: "The second half of season 2 gets back to a little bit of Riverdale basics, which is focused on stories at the school, kind of getting back in the deep on the relationships and the friendships.

"There's still going to be a pulpy noir crime element to the second half, but there will be a resurgence of high school hijinks, and getting back to the roots of what Archie's all about, which is the kids and the school.

Actress Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge, hinted to Harper's Bazaar magazine about what would happen in the rest of season 2.

She said: "It's less about plot and more about what these characters are going through.

"There's a huge reveal at the end, a huge twist that really sets off season 2.".
